Es una melodía muy bella realmente y al tocarlo siento algo de paz. Nunca lo había escuchado y pienso fue buena idea conocerlo ya que es un tema muy rico en lo que a armonía musical se refiere.

Tuve que descargar algunas partituras para poder tener una mejor aproximación al tema y escucharlo varias veces me permitió introducir algunas ideas. La primera guitarra la grabé con la distorsión habitual utilizando el micrófono del mástil como suelo hacer y aparte grabé una segunda guitarra para armonizar la melodía, está última con el micrófono del puente. Para la grabación me apoyé escuchando un metrónomo. Espero sea de tu agrado hermano, estoy consciente que mis equipos de música y mi sonido no es el más profesional pero lo hice con mucho cariño y empeño.

It is a very beautiful melody really and when I play it I feel some peace. I had never heard it before and I think it was a good idea to get to know it as it is a very rich theme as far as musical harmony is concerned.

I had to download some sheet music to be able to have a better approach to the theme and listening to it several times allowed me to introduce some ideas. The first guitar I recorded with the usual distortion using the neck microphone as I usually do and I recorded a second guitar to harmonize the melody, the latter with the bridge microphone. For the recording I listened to a metronome. I hope you like it brother, I am aware that my music equipment and my sound is not the most professional but I did it with love and effort.

El tema está por F menor y el solo aunque comienza con frases sencillas en su primera parte luego se complica con escalas cromáticas, frases con notas en primera cuerda muy separadas unas de otras, uso de tremolo y sobreagudos.

I decided to play this song some time ago but it didn't go very well and a few days ago I took it up again trying to detail a little more in depth the tempo mainly in the guitar solo and I felt that it was more connected with the phrases so I decided to record it for you.

La primera parte del solo la grabé con el micrófono del mástil y en la segunda parte cambié rápidamente al micrófono del puente porque me pareció era más parecido el sonido en comparación con la versión original.

In my previous publication I had experimented with the execution of a classical music theme on electric guitar and in this opportunity I will do it with Venezuelan music, specifically with the musical genre Joropo.

I have to say that I know very little about this genre, almost nothing to be honest. Nevertheless, I wanted to take the risk of making an arrangement for the song, very well known by Venezuelans, "Alma Llanera". This song is considered by many as the second national anthem of Venezuela, that's how representative it is. This joropo was composed by Rafael Bolívar Coronado and the musicalization was done by Pedro Elías Gutiérrez.

Al escucharlo imaginé el sonido de la guitarra electrica distorsionada sobre estas notas y me pareció una propuesta interesante, sabiendo el riesgo que se corre al hacer este tipo de covers. Quise se notará bastante la mezcla entré el rock y el joropo en lo que al sonido se refiere y para ello decidí emplear el micrófono del puente en casi todo momento para obtener un sonido más metálico, salvo la frase donde realizo sweep picking, que por tener más notas juntas, preferí un sonido más dulce.

Los armónicos de pulgar que uso repetidas veces y los equisonos (hacer sonar el mismo tono en cuerdas distintas) también fué con la idea de introducir más elementos de la guitarra rock a la versión.

El tema está a un ritmo de 3/4, ritmo con el que no estoy muy familiarizado y ahí una de las cosas que me motivó aún más a aventurarme con esta canción. En ocasiones este tipo de covers suele generar críticas ya que muchos asumen que se altera el tema sobremanera, de modo que procuré no modificar demasiado las frases, no obstante, estoy abierto a todo tipo de críticas; estamos para aprender.

When I listened to it I imagined the sound of the distorted electric guitar on these notes and it seemed to me an interesting proposal, knowing the risk that one runs when making this type of covers. I wanted the mix between rock and joropo to be quite noticeable as far as the sound is concerned and for that I decided to use the bridge microphone at almost all times to get a more metallic sound, except for the phrase where I do sweep picking, which by having more notes together, I preferred a sweeter sound.

The thumb harmonics that I use repeatedly and the equisons (making the same tone sound on different strings) were also with the idea of introducing more elements of rock guitar to the version.

The song is in 3/4 rhythm, a rhythm I'm not very familiar with and that's one of the things that motivated me even more to venture with this song. Sometimes this type of cover usually generates criticism because many assume that the song is altered too much, so I tried not to modify too much the phrases, however, I am open to all kinds of criticism; we are here to learn.

En varias partes tenía la tendencia a entrar antes de tiempo pero con mucha paciencia comprendí la escencia de estas partes.

The admiration I have for Mozart is indescribable, a musical genius like him will never be born again, I as a non-professional musician I feel "chiquitito" when listening to his compositions and he gave us each work that only remains to be delighted.

A few weeks ago my brother suggested me to make a video performing a classical music theme and after recording my last video I came up with the idea of doing this work.

After downloading the score of this piece I started my practices that at the beginning were not easy at all because I faced several challenges, the first of them was to try to achieve a clean sound that allowed to perceive each note and on the other hand to play the theme at "tempo". In several parts I had the tendency to enter before time but with a lot of patience I understood the essence of these parts.

Exploré muchas formas de tocar algunas frases y al principio no me encontraba satisfecho con ninguna. Después de varias pruebas decidí hacerlas de la forma que se puede apreciar en el vídeo, a lo largo del mástil.

Quedé satisfecho con el resultado final a pesar de todo, me gusta la música clásica desde niño y haber grabado este video me causa satisfacción ya que es algo que, la verdad, antes no me imaginaba hacer.

The covers corresponded to the songs "Sad but True", "The Unforgiven", "Wherever I May Roam", "Nothing Else Matters" and "The God That Failed". In this opportunity I will interpret for you the first song of the album, which is titled "Enter Sadman".

"Enter Sadman" fue compuesto en la tonalidad de Em y es un tema bastante "pegajoso" con riffs sencillos que transmiten mucha energía. El solo igualmente es dinámico basado en escalas pentatonicas, acordes a dos cuerdas así como double stops.

Para su ejecución es necesario utilizar el efecto Wah-Wah. Una vez cuando interpreté el solo del tema "Sweet child O' mine" les comentaba que no cuento con el pedal que me ofrece este sonido, entonces opté por recrearlo con el multiefectos que suelo utilizar. Tengo que reconocer que el sonido resultante dista de ser el que desearía pero una vez más no quise detenerme por eso; muchas veces la intención también cuenta.

Sin embargo, hace días estuve tocando lo que para ese entonces había adelantado y terminé animandome a completarlo con algunas ideas que surgieron en el momento, pero me tropecé nuevamente con el inconveniente que este tema no tiene pista de acompañamiento gratuita para guitarra en internet, entonces opté por utilizar una pista de karaoke con la problemática que el solo de guitarra acústica aparece en casi todas las pistas como es lógico, entonces tuve que hacer una edición con la aplicación de Capcut; algo similar a lo que hice con el tema del dúo "Ella baila sola" hace unas publicaciones atrás.

En la pista que elegí no aparece el fragmento del solo de guitarra acústica, pero como este solo está sobre el mismo ciclo armoníco que el solo de saxofón procedí hacer la edición insertando ese fragmento. En las imágenes muestro parte del proceso de edición.

Fue un proceso interesante, hice lo mejor que pude la verdad, pues no fué para nada sencillo trasladar el "felling" del saxofón a la guitarra; me resultó prácticamente imposible pero se hizo el intento.

For this performance I decided to reproduce with the guitar the keyboard and saxophone solos which I had to take out "by ear". Hace poco días estuve escuchando el tema "And justice for all" , segundo tema de su cuarto álbum que lleva el mismo nombre del tema y me dije a mi mismo: "¡este es un temazo!" Tenía mucho tiempo sin escucharlo completo la verdad, y es que el tema dura más de nueve minutos, una locura!

Yo conocí este tema en la adolescencia, se podrán imaginar la cantidad de veces que lo he escuchado. Las primeras veces que lo escuché fue con un disco de acetato que tenía mi hermano en casa. Actualmente tengo este álbum en formato CD.

El solo consta de dos partes, la primera más melódica, mientras que la segunda parte es más rápida e intensa, basado en la escala pentatonica de F#m y recursos como el doble stops, licks con cuerdas al aire y armónicos, todo muy característico en el estilo de Kirk Hammett (guitarrista líder de la banda). Hay una sección en la canción original dónde se puede apreciar el uso de Wah-Wah , también muy empleado por este guitarrista en la actualidad pero yo decidí grabar esa parte sin este afecto porque considere se escuchaba bien sin el.

Sin embargo, con la calma que caracteriza a los domingos en mi ciudad, me tomé un momento para analizar ciertas escalas y de pronto me vino la idea de hacer un solo que fuera oscuro, sombrío. Queria "descargar" con la guitarra y para eso seleccione una pista que me permitiera llenarme de adrenalina; estaba motivado para esto.

Este tipo de melodías puede parecer alocada para algunos pero cuando te sumerges en ella te das cuenta puedes usarla para liberarte y al mismo tiempo dejar salir esa furia que se lleva por dentro.

However, with the calm that characterizes Sundays in my city, I took a moment to analyze certain scales and suddenly the idea came to me to do a solo that was dark, somber. I wanted to "unload" with the guitar and for that I selected a track that would allow me to fill myself with adrenaline; I was motivated for this.

Para esta grabación utilicé mayormente la escala Bm Frigia, una escala que genera melodías misteriosas pues está era la idea principal. También emplee escalas cromáticas, la escala Bm armonica y Em armonica. Las partes rápidas fueron improvisadas basándose en estás escalas con púa alternada.

Por momentos la armonía me transmitía una sensación de confusión, aprovechando esto me dispuse a grabar un fragmento con una segunda guitarra que asocié con efectos visuales para transmitir esa sensación de desconcierto y desorientación. La técnica de tapping a dos manos con saltos de cuerda la vi hacer por primera vez hace algunos años a Michael Romeo, una grandísimo guitarrista estadounidense, siempre he envidiado la técnica de este señor; es increíble verlo tocar.

For this recording I mostly used the Bm Phrygian scale, a scale that generates mysterious melodies as this was the main idea. I also used chromatic scales, the harmonic Bm scale and the harmonic Em scale. The fast parts were improvised based on these scales with alternating plectrum.

At times the harmony gave me a feeling of confusion, so I took advantage of this to record a fragment with a second guitar that I associated with visual effects to transmit that feeling of bewilderment and disorientation.
