Hey Hive folks! I'm back for the second time at this Hive Music Festival, but this time with a song I wrote called "Si te vas" (If You Leave).

It's a very sensitive and emotional song, like everything that characterizes me as a songwriter. It's a personal story, and yet not, because I wrote it thinking about something that happened to a friend, but I went through the same thing, so I felt completely connected to it.

It's dedicated to those relationships that, due to life's circumstances, end because of distance. In this case, it's about a couple separated due to migration, something that happens these days, especially in Latin American countries. I think many of you will relate to this song. Reparto is somewhat denigrated because it's often vulgar, as it's street slang, talking about life and how people speak in the neighborhoods of Cuba, as the name Reparto suggests.

In my opinion, it's true that it's vulgar, but the problem isn't the music itself, but rather who writes it, the songwriter, whether they choose to convey a clean message or simply want to sell their music regardless of the content. It all depends on who makes the music, a situation that occurs in all musical genres, though mostly in urban music.
