Hello everyone, welcome to Hive open mic week #286. I'm glad I've been able to be share music here three times in a role, I really do hope to keep up the consistency 😉. I trust we all are well, in line with this week's theme "Wealth".... I'll be performing a song by Nigerian R&B singer, songwriter and producer "Praiz" called "Rich & Famous". This record was released in the year 2014 and is still a jam to date due to it's relativity and it's amazing vocals by one of Nigeria's finest singer. I have chosen to perform this song as it's a really lovely song and it goes in line with our theme for the week.

“Rich & Famous” by Praiz is one of those songs that really touches on what everybody dreams about, having wealth and living a good life. In the song, Praiz sings about wanting to reach that point where life is comfortable, and where you’re recognized for what you do. It’s the same thing many of us think about when we say we want to be “rich.” People love you more and respect you more when you're rich, everyone wants to be associated with you. Success attracts people cause everyone wants to be successful and wealthy in life. Being wealthy makes life easier, you get the best of everything, the prettiest ladies, the finest cars, basically all the finest things in life. He doesn't only want to be wealthy for himself, he wants his wealth to rub off on his loved ones. He promises to buy his mother a range rover 🚘 when he makes it. He shows that real wealth is not only what’s in your account but also the joy you carry inside and the impact you leave on people.

The song speaks to dreamers and hustlers, anyone who wakes up every day hoping their efforts will make life better. It’s a reminder that yes, financial success is good, but it’s not the only kind of wealth. True riches are when you can combine money with love, fulfillment, and purpose. Hola a todos, bienvenidos a la semana 286 de micrófono abierto de Hive. Me alegra haber podido compartir música aquí tres veces seguidas; espero mantener la constancia 😉. Espero que todos estén bien, siguiendo el tema de esta semana: "Riqueza"... Interpretaré "Rich & Famous", una canción del cantante, compositor y productor nigeriano de R&B "Praiz". "Rich & Famous" de Praiz es una de esas canciones que realmente habla de lo que todos sueñan: tener riqueza y vivir una buena vida. Hive open mic week #285, it's always good to be here sharing music with this amazing community. I trust we all are doing okay...it's week #285 of our weekly concert and for this week I'd be performing a song by Nigerian gospel singer-songwriter, trumpeter and pastor "Nathaniel Bassey".

I have chosen this song because it's a song I really love to sing. The song basically talks about the sovereignty of God, His works, His power. In line with this week's theme "Come back", I'll be performing the classic "Here I am to worship" by British worship leader, singer and song writer "Tim Hughes". Here I Am to Worship reminds us that no matter how far we go, God is still inviting us to come back to Him.”

The song talks about how Jesus left heaven, came into our world, and gave His life for us. When you really think about that kind of love, the only natural response is to come back to Him in worship. Life has a way of pulling us off track. We get busy, distracted, or even feel far from God. Siguiendo el tema de esta semana, "Regresa", interpretaré el clásico "Aquí estoy para adorar" del líder de alabanza, cantante y compositor británico "Tim Hughes". "Aquí estoy para adorar" nos recuerda que, sin importar cuán lejos vayamos, Dios siempre nos invita a regresar a Él.

Hive open mic week #282, it feels good 😊 to be back after a long hiatus away from this space. I've really missed it here and I'm going to show up more often now, so help me God 🙏. I trust we all are doing okay, for this week's theme "Brothers" I'll be performing a classic by reggae legend Bob Marley called "One Love". This amazing record was released in the year 1965, even decades later this song continues to be significant and resonates with a vast majority of people due to the message it passes across. I wasn't even conceived when this record was released, but I grew up listening to it and loving it.

For this week I'd be performing a song by Nigerian singer and songwriter Fireboy Dml called "Need You". This record was released off his debut album (Laughter, Tears & Goosebumps). This album solidified Fireboy's space in the industry both at home and abroad, his amazing vocals,his pen game is really good too. Basically all songs the album were hits, no misses. Need you is a personal favourite and I'm glad I get to perform it here for you guys. It was released in the year 2019 and is still so fresh to listen to, it's evergreen ☺️. Fireboy Dml's song need you talks about a deep emotional connection with someone, expressing the need for their presence and love. The lyrics convey a sense of urgency and appreciation for the relationship, emphasizing the importance of cherishing love before time runs out. You really can't do without this person, they're are your favourite person in the world and you want to spend as much time as you can by her side. She's the sweetest thing to ever happen to you, and you have no intention of leaving her...yes that kinda love 😉. You want to maximise your days with her cause no time, nobody knows tomorrow. Hive open mic week #271, it's been a long while since I posted anything here on hive... I've had a lot to deal with lately and haven't had the motivation to perform or make music, burnout is an actual thing. I've been trying to get myself out of it, trying my best and taking it one day at a time. I'm not back to full speed, but hopefully this is a start. I've missed it here, and I'm so glad I get to participate in this week's entry.

In line with this week's theme "Mountain" I'd be performing a classic by American singer and actor" Ruben Studdard " called "I need an angel". Ruben rose to fame by winning the second season of American idol. I need an angel was released over two decades back, precisely the year 2004 and I remember listening to it while growing up and loving it. When I saw the theme for the week "mountain", it was the only song that came to mind and I'm so glad I get to make a cover 😊. This record is a call for help to a higher being, our creator. When life gets hard, tough and unbearable we all need that one person we can turn to. No matter how high and insurmountable the mountain seems, we will definitely climb it successfully. We can always ask for help humbly from our creator, no matter how dark it seems at the moment, the morning will surely come. With God on our side, we will definitely pull through and succeed. We just need to connect to our creator and He'd guide us, He has our best interests at heart. We can't do life alone, we all need an angel, we all need God in our lives. He tenido mucho que hacer últimamente y no he tenido la motivación para actuar ni hacer música; el agotamiento es algo real. He estado intentando superarlo, esforzándome al máximo y viviendo día a día. No he vuelto al máximo, pero espero que esto sea un comienzo. Lo he echado de menos aquí, y me alegra mucho poder participar en la entrada de esta semana.

Siguiendo el tema de esta semana, "Montaña", interpretaré un clásico del cantante y actor estadounidense Ruben Studdard, "Necesito un ángel". Ruben saltó a la fama al ganar la segunda temporada de American Idol. "Necesito un ángel" se estrenó hace más de dos décadas, precisamente en 2004, y recuerdo escucharlo de pequeño y amarlo. Cuando vi el tema de la semana, "Montaña", fue la única canción que me vino a la mente y estoy muy contento de poder hacer una versión. 😊 Este disco es un llamado de ayuda a un ser superior, nuestro creador. Cuando la vida se pone difícil, dura e insoportable, todos necesitamos a esa persona a quien recurrir. No importa cuán alta e insuperable parezca la montaña, sin duda la escalaremos con éxito. Siempre podemos pedir ayuda humildemente a nuestro creador; no importa cuán oscuro parezca el momento, la mañana llegará. Con Dios de nuestro lado, sin duda saldremos adelante y triunfaremos. What's good People? I'm glad to be back here for week #33 of our contest 😊. For this week's theme "Language", I decided to perform a classic by Spanish singer and songwriter "Enrique Iglesias" called "Bailamos". This record was released in the year 1999 and for some reason it's the only song that came to mind when I saw the theme for the week. I scored the song to learn the lyrics properly and get the melody right as some part of this record is sung in Spanish. I also had to look up the meaning of the song "Bailamos", it means We dance. It's a really beautiful song with amazing instrumentation and vocals that would make you move your body (dance). After learning the song, I reached out to my friend and amazing producer to recreate this song. The original genre of this record is Latin pop but he recreated the beat to something more indigenous to Africa/Africans which I rep proudly 🖤. He made it an Afrobeats kinda groove and I really had fun making this one. I'm so sure you will too, it's something not heard of before 😉. ¿Qué tal, gente? Me alegra estar de vuelta para la semana 33 de nuestro concurso 😊. Para el tema de esta semana, "Idioma", decidí interpretar un clásico del cantautor español Enrique Iglesias llamado "Bailamos". Este disco se lanzó en 1999 y, por alguna razón, es la única canción que me vino a la mente al ver el tema de la semana. Grabé la canción para aprenderme bien la letra y acertar con la melodía, ya que parte del disco está cantado en español. También tuve que buscar el significado de "Bailamos", que significa "Bailamos". Es una canción realmente hermosa con una instrumentación y una voz increíbles que te harán bailar. Después de aprenderla, contacté con mi amigo y gran productor para recrearla. Hive open mic week #262, welcome to another week of our weekly concert, it's been so long I participated in our weekly concert and I'm glad I get to be here this week. I trust we all are doing okay, for this week's theme "Holy Week".... I'd be performing "Create in me a clean heart" by Donnie Mcclurkin. I've known this song since my childhood years in church, it makes more sense to me even now as an adult. There are various versions of this song which are all lovely. I've chosen this song because it goes in line with the theme and also the season we're in (Easter). The song basically is me asking God to cleanse my heart of all evil and give me the right attitude and mindset to navigate life, asking God to make me pure. Let my heart be pure, sincere and right with God. I want the colour of heart to be pure white 🤍. It's more of a prayer to Jesus Christ my Lord and personal saviour, wanting to do right always as God is righteous and frowns at iniquity. The only thing that separates man from God is sin, when we are in the wrong without confessing and forsaking our sins, His presence goes away from us which is really crucial in leading a good life. We all need God to go through life and it's challenges. He's the only one who gives us that satisfaction and joy we need so we must abide in Him and forsake our sins after asking Him for forgiveness. He is to be our model here on earth as He is without any spot or blemish (no sin). Let's ask Him to make our heart and mind pure, if we are really sincere about it...He will help us and guide us through it all. Espero que todos estemos bien. El tema de esta semana es "Semana Santa"... Interpretaré "Crea en mí un corazón limpio" de Donnie McClurkin. Conozco esta canción desde mi infancia en la iglesia; incluso ahora, de adulta, tiene más sentido para mí. Hay varias versiones de esta canción, todas preciosas. La elegí porque va en sintonía con el tema y también con la época en la que estamos (Pascua). La canción básicamente me pide a Dios que limpie mi corazón de todo mal y me dé la actitud y la mentalidad adecuadas para vivir la vida, pidiéndole que me purifique. Que mi corazón sea puro, sincero y esté en armonía con Dios. Quiero que el color de mi corazón sea blanco puro 🤍. Es más bien una oración a Jesucristo, mi Señor y Salvador personal, queriendo siempre hacer lo correcto, pues Dios es justo y desaprueba la iniquidad. Lo único que separa al hombre de Dios es el pecado. Cuando obramos mal sin confesar ni abandonar nuestros pecados, su presencia se aleja de nosotros, lo cual es crucial para llevar una buena vida. Todos necesitamos a Dios para afrontar la vida y sus desafíos. Él es el único que nos da la satisfacción y el gozo que necesitamos, así que debemos permanecer en Él y abandonar nuestros pecados después de pedirle perdón. Él debe ser nuestro modelo aquí en la tierra, pues es sin mancha ni defecto (sin pecado). Pidámosle que purifique nuestro corazón y nuestra mente, si somos sinceros al respecto... Well for this week I'd be performing a song by Nigerian singer-songwriter and record producer Davido called Away. Away is a song off Davido's most recent album "Timeless" which was released in 2023.
Away is a really fun song to listen to, lovely groove, catchy lyrics and an amazing beat. The song basically talks about living your life to the fullest irrespective of what people think of you, there would always be those who hate you for no reason, those who don't wish you well and hope for your downfall. Those people don't matter cause who God has blessed, no man can curse...And in actual fact you can't be loved by everyone, so rather than trying to please everyone..just focus on those who really care about you, those are the people who really matter. Live your life, keep basking in the glory of God. Holding on to hate or letting the negativity get to us would only slow our process down, slow our productivity and creativity. Instead we should just keep doing our thing, enjoy our life focusing on those that really matter( friends, family, fans e.t.c). No one is perfect, just keep doing your thing and try to readjust when you find yourself going off the rail. You work too hard to really care what people think of you,just keep doing you, you can't please everyone. Life is too short to hold on to the negatives, Enjoy yourself when you can, we ain't here for long. I really missed it around here, for this week I'd be covering a song by Nigerian singer-songwriter "Reekado Banks" called "Rora". This song was released 5 years ago (2020) and it quickly became a favourite, the rhythm, beat of this song is so catchy you'd wanna move your body. Rórá is a yoruba word which means take it easy, the song basically talks about the endowment and beauty of Africa women and how blessed they are. He practically adores her body 😉, and promises to treat her right if given a chance to be with her. He promises to change her life for the better, cause she's so special. She's top tier, so she'd get VIP treatment, everyday enjoyment, luxury or nothing. He pleads with her to take it easy the way she moves as it literally turns him on, in fact everything about her gets him. Hello Afri-tunes community, it's week #157 of our weekly contest and really I'm excited about this one, because it's one of my favourite songs by two favourite artistes of mine 😁. Without further ado I'd be performing a song by Nigerian singer-songwriter Burna boy ft. Ed Sheeran called "For my hand". I can perform this song for Afri-tunes ehn 😂, sorry can't help it but I try to improve from the previous covers 😉. For my hand is a song off Burna's sixth album "Love Damini". The lyrics of the song is really beautiful and deep, very soulful as well and conveys a good meaning "commitment".
For My Hand is simply a beautiful, poetic love song. In the lyrics, the main character talks with the girl he loves, expressing his joy because she’s always there for him. She represents his happiness despite the troubles present in his life. No matter the storms in their relationship, she's always there for him, no matter what they go through, He'd rather stick with her (Hold you for my hand) because she's been supportive and really consistent, He'd stay committed to her. it’s a song about love, the way we experience it when we are with the right person, described with the poetry of two great artists. Hola comunidad de Afri-tunes, es la semana n.° 157 de nuestro concurso semanal y estoy muy emocionado por este, porque es una de mis canciones favoritas de dos de mis artistas favoritos 😁. Sin más preámbulos, interpretaré "For My Hand" del cantautor nigeriano Burna Boy con Ed Sheeran. Puedo interpretar esta canción para Afri-tunes, ¿eh? 😂. Lo siento, no puedo evitarlo, pero intento mejorar con respecto a las versiones anteriores 😉. "For My Hand" es una canción del sexto álbum de Burna, "Love Damini". La letra es realmente hermosa y profunda, muy emotiva y transmite un buen significado: "compromiso".

For this week, I'd be covering a song by Nigerian Afropop/R&B singer "Arya Starr" called "Beggie Beggie"where she features another Nigerian artiste Ckay. Beggie Beggie is a slang commonly used in Nigeria by the young ones, It simply means someone that begs.

In the song Arya Starr talks about a love interest, how they became lovers from being really close friends, more like her male bestie. Things suddenly start getting complicated and weird between them. Apparently they are both fine people who have a crush on each other, but now she has to beg for his time, attention and affection.

Hola a todos, espero que todos estemos bien. Es la semana n.° 156 de nuestro concurso semanal y, como siempre, estoy muy emocionada de compartir mi participación. Para esta semana, haré una versión de una canción de la cantante nigeriana de afropop/R&B "Arya Starr" llamada "Beggie Beggie", en la que participa otro artista nigeriano, Ckay. Beggie Beggie es una jerga que suelen usar los jóvenes en Nigeria. Simplemente significa alguien que ruega.
