The movie tells the story of Rachel Chu, a professor who was in a relationship with a guy named Nick, they both traveled to Singapore to visit! Nick's parents, and that was when she learned that he belonged to one of the richest family in the country. She became shaken as his family weren't ready to accept her, tagging her a gold digger. However, she was able to win their hearts, especially that of the coldest family member (Nick's mother), and the rest is history 😍😍

I'd advise you see the movie, it's one interesting movie you don't want to miss.

Love isn't about money, it's not about lifestyle, and it's certainly not about appearance.
Love is a thing of the heart, it comes naturally, sometimes it can be developed, as it takes gradual process sometimes, such situations of when enemies becomes lovers, they often meet / start on the wrong note, having wrong impressions about one another, but when they move close enough, they get to see their true colors and know worth they're worth, they begin to pick interest in one another and eventually fall in love..

Mind you, Love doesn't just happen between a man and a woman (lovers), it happens with everyone (friends, families, colleagues, neighbors, etc)

Nick's mom saw Rachel's worth, and fell in love with her, she eventually approved of the relationship between Rachel and her son.

"The Island Princess" 👑👸

When i came to the community and saw @lordbutterfly's announcement for week 18,

"it's time for some Disney songs" he said.

I became very excited upon seeing Disney songs as the theme for this week, i immediately remembered the song "I need to know" From Barbie as the island princess.

My love for Barbie series knows no bound, i practically watched all the Barbie series released when i was younger.

It's been quite a while so i couldn't properly recall the song and had to look for a karaoke to help out..
Recording this song brought back beautiful memories of myself and my childhood friends, i remember always making everyone of them see Barbie, my siblings weren't left out, i remember being called Barbie back in those days, and Barbie is the main reason pink became my favorite color😍💕

At some point in every man's life, we all realize that we specifically want some things from God..
Generally, everyone wants, blessings, good life, sound health, lots of money and all.. But individually, when we look deep down into our hearts, we realize that thing which we need, that one thing, could be 2 or more, depending on our wants.

However, despite having these needs/wants, a lot of people don't get them, we tend to look for these things elsewhere or ask for them in a wrong way or with wrong motives.

The Bible says in "James 4:2-3, You do not have, because you do not ask God. When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures."

Prayer
What is that thing you desire? What do you wholeheartedly God to do for you?
Come to God in prayers, talk to Him, beseech Him, call on to Him the right time and the right way.

And if you don't know when to ask or how to ask, when things has gone south and all hope is gone, just SURRENDER all to Him.
And He'll come through for you, as long as that thing which you want is what is best for you.

We all have dreams, we all want to be known for making a great impact in life, maybe some people don't want to be known, they just want to quietly reach their goals and peacefully live thier lives.
Our dreams are different, just like our goals, mission, purpose, destination, and that's how our timings are different likewise.

Growing up, i had so many dreams, i had plenty beautiful and sweet dreams, i wanted to become a fashion icon, hair stylist, make up artist, costumier, my dream was to own a fashion school, have fashion shows, and the likes.
At some point i wanted to be a cosmetologist, i wanted to be an actress, i wanted to be a writer, i wanted to be in the spotlight, i want to be known by so many people around the world for being so great.

However, I'm fulfilling a dream i never planned, a dream only God knew about. The all knowing God had plans for me, He knew the career that would suit me best, and He miraculously put me in the line. My purpose was different, my calling was different, and my path way different. God brought me into the spot i needed to be and that's a reality check for me.

That's the same way so many people try to be what they weren't destined to be. God has plans for us, and the earlier we realize it, the better.
There are sweet dreams to be accomplished as long as we're ready and willing.

And as the song said, you can cope with anything and everything, you can survive the future even if you fail - as long as you don't give up. Believe in God, there's something good in everything you'll see - He has a great plans for you and I, we just have to allow His plans and timing align with ours.
And when i know the time is right for me, I'll cross the stream - like the saying when we get to the bridge, we'll cross it.

The song hits differently whenever i listen to it, it is my "go to" song whenever I'm in distress, this song helps me stay on track and in faith.

Sometimes we feel as though God has forsaken us, but what we don't know is that our Heavenly Father has better plans for us, His timing is different from ours, however, one certain thing is that He will always make a way where there seem to be no way, He never sleep nor slumber, He'll always meet us at the point of our need as long as we trust in Him and call upon Him.

A few days ago, i was talking to my friend about how God's timing is different from our, how His ways are different from ours.
God sees it all like i said earlier, He knows what we need, but when we ask for that thing at a wrong time, He will not do it.

He delays some blessings for some reasons, and that's why the Bible says in the book of Isaiah 60 vs 22 that, "when the time is right, I the Lord will make it happen"

Our duty is to trust in Him, be thankful and be faithful, then we'll see how wonderful and mighty our God is.

As you all know, my name is @sessy, and I'm really exhilarated to be here again this week, it was almost as if i wouldn't be able to record for this week's presentation. And that's due to the fact that i was a little down and was really busy with work in between.

But as God would have it, He saw me through it all, and i was able to record, "better late than never" that's why I'm so elated.

Without much ado, let's dive into this week's theme, which is - WAVES.

Waves is a small but powerful word with deep meaning. And i guess i could say this topic was one of the reasons why there was delay in my presentation, as it requires adequate understanding and needs proper concentration, which i couldn't give due to the fact that i had so much on my plate.

I could have pass, but this is one thing i really enjoy doing and it brings me so much peace and satisfaction, it is therapeutic for me and i really can't stand missing out on any, especially the weeks with challenging themes, i love things that challenge and motivate me, they give me reasons to stay active, intentional and inspired.

Waves as we all know is a disturbing force, that moves on the surface of water, and of course air. It is a disturbance medium that carries energy with a variation of pressure.

I know by now you'd be asking, what is the correlation between Waves and my choice of song.
I decided to sing "It's all coming back to me now" Because it reminds me of an heartbreak that keeps murmuring to my ears just like the waves.
And just as the song said, there were nights when the wind was so cold, and my body froze as i listened to the waves right outside my window,
I drowned in tears, till they turned to dust and i could feel them drying up forever. This song is a very beautiful and amazing song, that talks about self confidence, self awareness, self trust.
It's about knowing oneself, loving oneself, accepting oneself, believing in oneself and being courageous about it.

God has given each and everyone of us an identity, and it is solely up to us to embrace it or refuse it.

According to the singer, she has gotten a clear understanding of God's identity for her, and she has embraced it, God has given her all that she requires in life, she further said, "take a look at me, I'm a wonder, it doesn't matter what you see now", she prophesies greatness into herself.

Our theme for this week is "TAKE ME HOME" so i will be singing "Spirit Lead Me" by Hillsong United.

This song happens to be one of my favorite contemporary worship songs, and i love the fact that it was the first song that popped up in my head after a lot thinking about what to sing when I saw the theme for this week.

I must confess, it took me a while to find my way around the theme (Take me home), which home? I asked myself 😅 after so much pondering, this song came to my mind. And that was when i got an understanding of the theme.

A lot of us have been lost for so long, we get carried away by worldly things, forgetting that we'll all have to go back home someday, back to our creator, back to where we came from.
Have you ever wondered where people go after death?
Corinthians 15:21-22 says, For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive.

There is life after death, and we are all going there someday, a place called HOME, the Bible says, when it is time, Christ will come back and take us home.
John 14:1-4 says, "Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. And you know the way to where I am going."

Meanwhile, so many people have derailed and are lost in this world due to greed, lust, lies, deceit, waywardness, and so many crimes. They've forgotten their creator, who they are, where they come from, and where they are going.

But the book of 2 Chronicles 7:14 says, "If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land"

Jesus said in the book of John 14:6, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me"

Call on Jesus today, you with weary heart, call on Him to show you the way and lead your path. Trust in Him, have faith and be strong in Him.
We're all sinners, call on to Christ, and seek forgiveness, come back to God, so you'll be amongst the people that will be taken to a home of love, joy and peace.

Burna boy popularly also known as African giant made magic with this song because, the simplicity and the message in the song is topnotch.

I love every bit of this song because, it talks about how a person can create happiness in his own life without having to compare.

This song makes me nostalgic whenever I listen to it and i can't help but give wistful smile as I remember how I have been in a state of being compared in the past.

We all have our roles to play, that you do what you do and you're good at it, however doesn't mean i don't have my own roles to play, and it certainly doesn't mean your role is greater than my role.

These things happens everywhere, between partners, siblings, friends and even co workers. Some people believe that they're doing better than you regardless of hardworking you may appear to be.

The moment you break down, or take a rest from your duties, or even try to make complaints about some things that are not right, - these people hurl words at you, they're insensitive and inconsiderate, therefore they start making you feel less of yourself. Telling you how their role/responsibility/duty is greater than yours yet they don't complain.

You tell some people about the things you're going through, but rather than motivate/encourage you, they tell you what you're going through is small compared to what they are going through, they bring up their stories, and you end up consoling them instead. That is them being insensitive

This song, with a clear lyrics, talks about how we all have our roles to play, and that you're performing your duties, doesn't mean your duties are enormous compared to mine.
We can all perform our respective duties and be happy altogether.
And if someone breaks down from trying so hard, you don't have to bring them down even more by making comparisons, - It breaks them

They might not deserve a trophy for doing their duties, but some words of encouragement wouldn't be bad, because it's normal to get tired, let them know they're doing well, and can even do better if they keep pushing.

But guess what, the plot twist is that, just as the singer has said,
I be common person but happiness still be my own - (I am a regular person, and i don't need anyone's validation to be happy)
So regardless of what you think or say, i know I can be happy on my own and even things don't go my way, my hope is on God, He'll see me through. So you can't deprive me of my happiness.

It's your girl @sessy, and this week I'll be doing a cover for the song "Way Maker by Sinach"

The song Way Maker is an inspirational gospel song that is being sung nationwide, this song talks about how faithful God is, a way maker when there's no way. According to Sinach a Nigerian gospel artiste, the original writer of the song, she talked about the reason behind the song, she shared she was inspired by God to write the song, at the time she was facing hardship, God revealed to her that she could trust Him to be her way maker, He'd keep every promises he made to her, because He is a promise keeper.

The song happens to be one of my favorite gospel songs, i believe in the promises of God, He'll never forsake me. He is a way maker, and i know He'll show up whenever I need Him and call upon Him, He's the light in the darkness, He'll shine His light upon me, and show me the way. It doesn't matter how long it takes, I'll wait on Him, because I know He is faithful, He is a man of His words, and i have complete trust in Him.

He has done all these for me, and He'll continue to do more, there are things i am currently facing, but i trust in Him to make a way for me as always.

As we all know, Love is a beautiful thing, love is powerful, love is magical, love is unique, love unites people.
But do we know that Love fades? Yes, it is possible to run out of love, it is possible to stop loving someone..
Love is like a planted seed, it grows if it is well taken care of.

However, if love is not well taken of, it dies, just like a plant. So many people fall in and out of love without having explanations for what happened, most people usually don't know where it all went wrong, so they just accept it as their fate.

There are different types of Love, amongst them is SELF LOVE, which happens to be the greatest Love asides the Love of God.

You cannot give what you do not have, how can you claim to love someone else when you don't even love yourself?

Some people find themselves in toxic relationships, one minute - the love is blooming beautifully and everything is in place, it's a picture perfect relationship, but the next minute - it is hell like, there's constant argument and fights, sometimes total silence, sometimes unnecessary excuses, improper communication, and so on...

They are either aromantic or in a relationship with someone who is aromantic.
What does it mean to be aromantic?
People who are incapable of love are termed as aromantic.
These people are either traumatized by an experience from childhood, or they're scared of others taking advantage of them, they have low self-esteem and they worry more about not getting what they give even without making an attempt.. These people don't love themselves, so they find it hard to enjoy the love other people show them because they don't believe in love, and no matter how much love you shower them, they believe you're pretending.

Some would even ask themselves, "how come this person claims to love me, when i don't even love myself" People who reason like this, feel self pity towards themselves, they suffer from inferiority complex, they see themselves as ugly or not good enough.

Some of these people settle for less, and apologize at every given opportunity, they believe they're not good enough so they're always wrong, they give in to bullying, they allow people walk over them, they wallow in pity and die in silence..

Others don't make an effort to work things out with their partners if there's a fight, they lack empathy and they're scared to be perceived as a weakling, they give up without making an effort and some of them even become abusive partners.

One of the reasons why I love this song, "Greatest love of all" is because it talks about self love.
It talks about the children being our future, we have to teach them how to love themselves, we have to make them see their potentials, the beauty they possess inside, give them a sense of pride, teach them how to believe in themselves and be independent.

Whitney Houston made magic with this song, because she further talked about how she decided long ago, never to walk in anyone's shadow, and no matter what anyone takes from her, they can't take away her dignity, because the greatest love of all is happening to her, that's self love.

Bottom line is, I'm using this medium to reach out to everyone who sees this-
Learn to love yourself
Find your strength in love
Learn to walk away from anything that does not give you joy
Learn to find inner peace (not suicide)
Learn not to give in to bully
You have to learn to love and be loved
Learn to take care of your planted seeds (your love)

Love is a beautiful thing, allow yourself experience it, you can't change the past, but you can make the future better.
