The call time was 3:30 in the afternoon so instead of bringing car and get stuck in traffic, I just used a rider app, similar to uber but they’re using a motorbike. Do you have this in your country?

I arrive at the venue one hour early, changed clothes and went straight to Music Museum Theatre located in Green Hills, San Juan in Manila. It was my first time to usher and be in the theatre and I had the chance to roam around and go in the center stage, and wait for instruction from them the boss (Red).

Around 7:00 PM, the audience was coming in all at the same time, that was the only chaotic time since we had to scan ticket QR code one by one, after that, there is nothing else to do but to watch the show, and after assist the fans for taking pictures with the performers during the post-show.

The Head liner
Red Ollero is one of the Veteran local comedian in the Philippines, last year he had a Netflix special called: Mabuhay is a Lie. For someone like me (a Newbie) in the scene, one of the things a lot that I need to learn from vets such as him.
From producing show’s, handling a production team, promoting shows, creating the comedian line up, and booking shows on bigger stage, and lastly, learning from all the seasoned comedian how they handle their time in the stage, how they deliver their joke bit, and creating more funnier premises and punchlines.

The Openers of the show
Each openers did their 10 minutes set before Red, the comedians below have been doing the standup comedy 5-10 years now, so I as student of the craft, not only I was watching them as a fan, I was also studying their act and bits.

Starting from the first photo I took in 2024, daze of the things I wanted this year, from the thought of wanting to do standup comedy to going to an open mic last February, and consistent open mic set in different rooms around the metro, meeting new friends, learning new skills. I never thought I would be a part of any paid shows this year, but I did! which is freaking awesome!

But it’s just my year one. I know it’s a long journey to be great, and I’m moving forward to my next chapter, and be better than this year.

In this video, I'm doing three of my favorite bodyweight exercises that can cover up for a whole-body workout.

Hanging Leg-raise

This core exercise not only helps build abdominal strength, but it also strengthens your grip, hip flexors, shoulder and with this muscle groups it can greatly help you to excel to perform to other exercises.

There are many variations of Hanging Leg-raise that anyone can do, from basic to advance, and on this video, I'm trying engaging more on my core muscle while controlling my leg movements side-to-side.

The Pull-ups

Pull up exercise in my opinion is the true test of strength! Since this is the only exercise that requires you to pull almost 100% of your weight.

Currently, I am weighing at 69 Kg +/- and can only perform 6 to 8 clean reps and my goal here is to increase it to 15 repetition per set and in order for me to do that every gym day, I include this workout to my warp up.

Pull ups exercise not only help build definition to your lateral muscle, but also to your shoulder, biceps, and (personally) gives out explosive strength to help perform better in other physical exercises

Dips

One of my favorite workout that can target three different muscle group with two variations.

1. Doing it on an upright position I can target and strengthens my triceps

2. Doing it by slightly leaning forward, the exercise tend to focus on my lower chest and shoulders.

One benefit that I noticed doing dips exercise aside from strength, is posture correction.

Unlike other motivational videos, I want to show everyone that this is not perfection this is the process of it all. As much as I can, I try to perform the exercises with correct posture with proper exectution and as hard as it is, do the clean rep, and in reality I would fail at some point. But of course rather than complaining, I would instead do it over and over again!

Everytime I would hit the gym, after stretching, instead of doing stationary bike or jog instead, I would do jump rope as my warm up before hitting the weight lifting. Usually I would do it 10-15 minutes.

The best approach anyone can time it is by listening to 4-5 music tracks!

Benefits of skipping ropes Beginners should know about:

1. It's definitely a calorie burner
2. It's a full body workout
3. It strengthens your heart and bones
4. It helps overall coordination, balance and improves functionality
5. It's a mood booster

In this modern world we live in, I believe everyone should never neglect exercise, and should be added to our daily routine, similar to brushing our teeth or taking a bath, and be more inclined to it as we age.

A wise person told me before that we are a "forgetful creature", and I couldn't agree more, I have done this before, I've experienced all the love and hate before, I have learn these things have talking about and still relearning them back, I have been in the worst position in my life and came back and back again and again.
