El Hive Music Festival!!! Me siento tan feliz de estar de vuelta aquí, me encanta este festival y toda la gente que participa en él, es una maravilla que desborda talento por donde lo veas. Hoy les traigo otra canción algo nostálgica, aunque encantadora y también del repertorio tradicional venezolano. Viajera del Río de Manuel Yanez.

     ¿Quién no ha escuchado esta canción alguna vez en su vida? Bueno, pocas personas, pero para el que no lo haya hecho los invito a escucharla, no sólo por mí sino por los que para mí son gran referencia, por ejemplo, la versión de Aquiles Machado y Aquiles Báez.

     En esta canción hablaremos de una flor, no una cualquiera, sino de una angelical. Una flor que quieres tocar y abrazar, que quieres tener ahí, casi como si habláramos de una persona. Una flor que anhelas ver de nuevo, tanto que sueñas con ella y sueñas que vas a estar ahí parado viendo el río para ver si un día vuelve a pasar. Qué emotividad ¿no? Así es la vida, quizá no sólo con una flor sino que ésta, tal vez, no sea más que una metáfora, quién sabe. Porque a veces nos quedamos ahí, en el malecón esperando a que vuelva a pasar esa flor que tanto queríamos.

     La canción nos cuenta una historia completa en muy poco tiempo, nos dice “paseando una vez por el malecón extasiado me quedé. Al ver una flor perfumado el río…” aquí nos cuentan cómo conoció dicha flor y el porqué la quiere tanto. Pero pongamos nuestros cerebros a trabajar un poco, ¿Acaso esto no pasa con todo lo que amamos? Siempre nos desvelamos pensando en ello, ya sea un instrumento musical o una persona, yo también me he quedado hasta la madrugada estudiando mi mandolina con todo el amor que le impregna esta canción a una flor y también me he desvelado hablando por tlf con la persona que amaba. Entonces, esta flor puede ser cualquier cosa, porque quizá esta flor representa aquello amado, aquel anhelo que buscas y buscas, que siempre buscarás y que por más que pasen los años ese deseo seguirá igual. Muchas personas entenderán y es que, muchos como yo, a veces se quedan mirando al malecón esperando a su flor.

     Hola, comunidad de HIVE! Espero todos se encuentren bien, hoy estoy de vuelta trayendo contenido para ustedes. Estuve toda una semana desaparecido, pero eso fue porque me enfermé, me dio una gripe muy fuerte, fiebre, quebranto… bueno, ustedes ya saben cómo es eso. Pero ya me siento mejor y he decidido traerles una canción que me gusta mucho, Presagio de Henrique Hidalgo.

     Un bonito merengue venezolano. Es una canción hermosa y contrastante. En su primera parte podemos escuchar un canto melancólico, que sí, está presagiando su partida… pero ya en la segunda parte es una antítesis. Me explico, comenzamos con un lamento, una palabras tristes que hablan de lo que fue, de lo que ya se fue y se perdió y seguimos con un canto de alegría, pero ¿Por qué alegría? ¿Acaso no acabó? Pues… a pesar de que las cosas tengan un final siempre existirá la belleza. Habla de su hermosura de lo que es ella, aquí les hablo un poco de la letra de la canción de lo que su melodía me transmite. Es una tema pegajoso y principalmente esa segunda parte que es mi favorita. Me inspira y me motiva me deja pensando en que después de la tormenta viene la calma y que después de la lluvia sale un arcoiris porque justamente así es la canción, después de sollozar nos encontramos con alegría y risas, todo por lo bonito y lo memorable que es vivir y por todo lo vivido, por ella que siempre será ese amor majestuoso que nunca perderá su lugar en la belleza y en su virtud que perdurará siempre en nosotros. Presagio! Qué temazo!

      Hello, HIVE community! I hope everyone is well, today I'm back bringing content for you. I've been missing for a whole week, but that was because I got sick, I had a very strong flu, fever, break... well, you all know how it is. But I'm feeling better now and I decided to bring you a song that I really like, Presagio by Henrique Hidalgo.

      A nice Venezuelan merengue. It is a beautiful and contrasting song. In its first part we can hear a melancholic song, which yes, is foreshadowing his departure... but already in the second part it is an antithesis. Let me explain, we begin with a lament, sad words that speak of what was, of what is gone and lost, and we continue with a song of joy, but why joy? Is it not over? Well... in spite of the fact that things have an end, there will always be beauty. It speaks of her beauty of what she is, here I talk a little of the lyrics of the song of what its melody conveys to me. It is a catchy song and mainly that second part is my favorite.      Parece que fue ayer… que hermosura de canción. Les juro que cuando la busqué por Youtube y la escuché quedé impactado, es increíble. Por ello se las traigo hoy.

     Hola comunidad de HIVE! Hoy quiero mostrarles esta bella pieza que me cautivó al escucharla.

     Es un tema algo triste… porque parece que fue ayer todo, cuando te Vi en primavera o cuando tomé tu mano por vez primera. Parece que fue ayer es una canción que te transporta al pasado, a los recuerdos de lo que fue y ya no es. La realidad es la realidad y, aunque algunas cosas no son como antes, poder imaginarlas y tenerlas guardadas en nuestra mente es increíble y fundamental para nuestro crecimiento, me alegra tanto haberme encontrado con esta canción, que toqué como unas 20 veces antes de grabarla, sólo porque me encanta.

     Parece que fue ayer. Ese gran amor que todos tuvimos, ese que recordamos con cariño o mucha tristeza por esos bellos momentos que ya no son y no serán nunca más, por esa flor que dejas de ver al despertar y ese sol que ya no ilumina tu caminar, por un momento en tu vida en dónde te pones a recordar y dices eso “parece que fue ayer…” en donde comienzas a cuestionar pero tienes que aceptar que aunque quieras no será.

     Parece que fue ayer. Un dolor penetrante que te llena el alma al recordar, pero que te alimenta de felicidad porque, a pesar de no poder olvidar, la magia de lo eterno siempre está ahí, dentro de ti. En donde yacen todo esos momentos mágicos que perdurarán con el tiempo. Solemos echar un ojo al pasado de vez en cuando para jactarnos de nuestros logros, de pensar que ahora somos mejores que antes pero en esta canción no, la felicidad en ésta es de haber vivido todo con ella, de haber paseado de su mano y vivido a su lado.

     Parece que fue ayer. Dar un vistazo al pasado no siempre es malo, nos lo demuestra esta canción que es bellísima, para mí una joya. Un tema invaluable. Y en donde dicho vistazo al pasado no es para hablar de un logro o de una mejora en nuestra vida, es sólo para ver con nostalgia esa felicidad de estar con ella, esos momentos hermosos que fueron y todos aquellos instantes de alegría que nos dejó en nuestra vida.

     Parece que fue ayer. Pero no fue ayer… el tiempo ha pasado y con él muchas cosas más.

     Parece que fue ayer… pero aunque no lo fue puedo recordarte a ti con tanto amor, como el primer día, como el primer beso o el primer abrazo, puedo recordarte a ti plenamente como si hubiese sido ayer.       Hello HIVE community! Today I want to show you this beautiful piece that captivated me when I listened to it.

       It is a somewhat sad song... because it seems like it was all yesterday, when I saw you in spring or when I took your hand for the first time. It seems like it was yesterday is a song that transports you to the past, to the memories of what was and is no longer. Reality is reality and, although some things are not like they used to be, being able to imagine them and have them stored in our mind is incredible and fundamental for our growth, I'm so glad I came across this song, which I played about 20 times before recording it, just because I love it.

      It seems like yesterday.      Hola, comunidad del Hive Open Mic, les saludo en esta semana 163. En ésta, el tema es la pasión por el arte, un tema peculiar y que asocié de inmediato con esta pieza. Hoy les traigo el Loure de la Partita 3 en E major de Bach.

     ¿Pasión al arte? ¿Qué tiene que ver con esta pieza? Para mí todo. Cuando culminé mis estudios de música en la escuela de música Benito Galarraga estaba deseando aprender más, busqué muchísimas canciones y me las aprendí, pero aún sentía que me faltaba algo, un reto, algo complejo que no pudiese tocar en ese momento. Ahí entra mi maestro y la mandolina académica, comencé viendo el concierto en C major de Vivaldi para mandolina y para mí fue un reto, algo de otro nivel y que duré meses practicando para poder tocar bien, verdaderamente complejo para mí en ese tiempo.

     A medida que van pasando los años necesito cada vez más retos, tocar es mi pasión y no he dejado de hacerlo, simplemente cada vez busco algo más desafiante. Después de terminar el C major comenzó el G major para dos mandolinas, igualmente de Vivaldi, otro gran reto jajajaja y así voy hasta llegar a la Partita 3 de J. S. Bach. Comencé tocando el preludio de la misma y que divertido poder disfrutar todo ese proceso de tocar nota por nota, dicho preludio fue el que toqué en mi audición para la escuela de Música Lino Gallardo en la que entré este año escolar.

     Hablando específicamente del Loure es el segundo movimiento de esta Partita, en su momento también me costó mucho pero me encanta como suena, siento que es pura hermosura. Es una pieza con dos partes pero las dos son increíblemente hermosas, lo practiqué bastante porque nunca había hecho tantos acordes pero el esfuerzo tiene sus frutos. Al final aquí les traigo el Loure y una muestra de lo que la pasión por el arte pude lograr, hace dos años quizá no hubiese podido tocar estas obras pero hoy se la traigo con mucho cariño.

     Por cierto, me encanta Bach jajaja me parece sencillamente fantástico, era un genio para la música y lo demuestra en cada obra que escucho de él, por cierto, se vienen más obras de él por aquí. Mientras tanto los dejo con el Loure.

      Hello, Hive Open Mic community, I greet you in this week 163. In this one, the theme is the passion for art, a peculiar theme and one that I immediately associated with this piece. Today I bring you the Loure from Bach's Partita 3 in E major.

      Passion for art? What does it have to do with this piece? For me everything. When I finished my music studies at the Benito Galarraga music school I was eager to learn more, I looked up a lot of songs and I learned them, but I still felt that I was missing something, a challenge, something complex that I could not play at that moment. That's where my teacher and the academic mandolin came in, I started watching Vivaldi's C major concert for mandolin and for me it was a challenge, something of another level and that I spent months practicing to be able to play well, really complex for me at that time.

      As the years go by I need more and more challenges, playing is my passion and I have not stopped doing it, I just look for something more and more challenging. After finishing the C major began the G major for two mandolins, also by Vivaldi, another great challenge hahahaha and so I go until I reach the Partita 3 by J. S. Bach. I started playing the prelude of the same and how fun to enjoy the whole process of playing note by note, this prelude was the one I played in my audition for the Lino Gallardo Music School in which I entered this school year.

      Speaking specifically of the Loure is the second movement of this Partita, at the time it also cost me a lot but I love the way it sounds, I feel it is pure beauty. It is a piece with two parts but both are incredibly beautiful, I practiced it a lot because I had never done so many chords but the effort pays off. In the end here I bring you the Loure and a sample of what the passion for art could achieve, two years ago maybe I would not have been able to play these works but today I bring it to you with much affection.

      By the way, I love Bach hahaha I think he is simply fantastic, he was a genius for music and shows it in every work I listen to him, by the way, more of his works are coming here. In the meantime I leave you with the Loure.

     Hola, comunidad de Music! Espero que todos se encuentren bien. Hoy les traigo un joropo! Vamos con algo más rápido de lo normal jajajaja esta canción es de Juan Pablo Ceballos.

     Una canción que también tenía años sin tocar, pero que me gusta bastante, me parece súper pegajosa y cuando llega a esa tercera parte que me encanta… wow es mejor comenzar desde el principio.

     En su primera parte encontramos mucha alegría, casi un llamado a divertirse, a mí me llena de mucha energía ese pedazo y es como si nunca acabase, podría repetirlo infinidad de veces y aún así sentir esa energía. En la segunda parte encontramos su contraste pero no lo veo con tristeza, es un fragmento con mucha fuerza y potencia, además todo va creciendo, ya sea para volver a empezar o para comenzar con el afamado clímax de la pieza, para mí la mejor parte, suena recio, suena muy llanero, suena a joropo, definitivamente. No sé porqué pero desde el comienzo de la canción anhelo llegar sólo a ese fragmento que es muy sencillo, sí, quizá más que los demás pero eso no le quita lo bueno. A veces en la sencillez se encuentra lo que podemos llamar perfecto, ya que, no siempre necesitamos de complejidad para disfrutar y ser nosotros mismos, quizá siendo más sencillos como personas también podamos llegar a ese nivel de satisfacción y felicidad.

     Párate Juan es un tema divertido que quise traerles hoy, no hablaré de las complicaciones porque para mí de verdad fue un placer grabar esta canción, desde que la pensé fue algo mágico, estaba armando todo con emoción para grabarla y miren, la primera toma es la que les traigo jajajaja quizá no es perfecta pero la euforia y emoción que sentí quiero transmitirsela a ustedes también y espero que escuchen más joropo y también se identifiquen con el género. Quiero comenzar a traerles cosas diferentes a las habituales y con esta comienzo.

     Pronto les traeré muchas más piezas de este estilo y con cada vez más calidad.

      Hello, Music community! I hope you are all feeling well. Today I bring you a joropo! Let's go with something faster than usual hahahaha this song is by Juan Pablo Ceballos.

      A song that also had years without playing, but I like it a lot, I find it super catchy and when it gets to that third part that I love... wow it's better to start from the beginning.

      In its first part we find a lot of joy, almost a call to have fun, to me that piece fills me with a lot of energy and it is as if it never ends, I could repeat it countless times and still feel that energy. In the second part we find its contrast but I don't see it with sadness, it is a fragment with a lot of strength and power, also everything is growing, either to start again or to begin with the famous climax of the piece, for me the best part, it sounds tough, it sounds very llanero, it sounds like joropo, definitely. I don't know why but since the beginning of the song I long to get only to that fragment which is very simple, yes, maybe more than the others but that doesn't take away from the good things. Sometimes in simplicity we find what we can call perfect, because, we don't always need complexity to enjoy and be ourselves, maybe being simpler as people we can also reach that level of satisfaction and happiness.

      Párate Juan is a fun song that I wanted to bring you today, I will not talk about the complications because for me it was really a pleasure to record this song, since I thought it was something magical, I was putting everything together with excitement to record it and look, the first take is the one I bring you hahahaha maybe it is not perfect but the euphoria and excitement I felt I want to transmit it to you too and I hope you listen to more joropo and also identify with the genre.      Hola, comunidad del Hive Music Festival! Les saludo en la semana 32 ronda número 2. Hoy les traigo “El frutero” – Cruz Felipe Iriarte. Un merengue venezolano muy emblemático y popular entre los instrumentistas. Espero les guste.

     Este merengue es muy sabroso y es uno de los que aprendemos de pequeños; es increíble todo lo que he podido retomar gracias a HIVE, temas tan hermosos como este que estaban sencillamente guardados en una carpeta, cuando en realidad merecen ser escuchados en todo momento y lugar. Para esta segunda ronda del Hive Music Festival hice el esfuerzo de ir a mi casa a grabar exclusivamente para ello. Me tardé un poco, sí. Pero merece la pena todo el esfuerzo.

     El frutero es un tema pegajoso, hasta provoca bailar y eso que yo no sé bailar jajajaja. Tiene algunas complejidades, al menos muy notorias cuando comenzamos en el instrumento. Un fragmento rápido en la segunda parte es la más notable. La escuché muchísimo antes de grabarla y es que me gusta recordar con dulzura todo ese tiempo que estuve en la estudiantina de mi escuela tocando este tema, que fue allí donde lo aprendí.

     Yo estudié en la Escuela de Folclore Benito Galarraga, en Valencia Edo. Carabobo, comencé con mi profesora Clara Milagros Díaz quien me hizo amar la mandolina como lo hago hoy en día y aunque desde hace años no la veo le guardo mucho cariño. Allí comencé a aprenderme canciones hasta que por fin entré en la estudiantina, casi un sueño hecho realidad. Yo apenas un niño pequeño tocando con los adultos, en ese tiempo los pies no me llegaban al piso jajajaja; entre tantas canciones que tocamos, como muchas de las que ya les he traído a la comunidad de HIVE está el frutero. Gracias a esta estudiantina mejoré como músico y me puse desarrollar como persona durante muchos años, estando allí hasta la culminación de mis estudios en la escuela.

     ¿Ustedes sabían que hay merengue venezolano a 2 y a 5? Lo sé, suena raro, pero investíguenlo un poco, pues esta canción está a 5/8 es decir 5 tiempos de corchea en cada compás. Es raro, muchísimo, de hecho en muy pocas partes del mundo hay ritmos autóctonos con estas características, ahí les dejo otra peculiaridad del frutero. Es que es un tema tan rico y variado, por si faltara algo es muy conocido. Yo sentí al grabar esta canción mucha euforia, me emocioné y me dispuse a hacerlo, puse toda mi concentración hasta llegar a lo que hoy les muestro. Un tema hermoso que brilla por su rítmica, que es pegajoso y bailable, una canción maravillosa que nos demuestra la genialidad que hay en nuestra música venezolana.

      Hello, Hive Music Festival community! I greet you in week 32 round number 2. Today I bring you "El frutero" - Cruz Felipe Iriarte. A very emblematic and popular Venezuelan merengue among instrumentalists. I hope you like it.

      This merengue is very tasty and is one of those that we learn as children, it's amazing all that I have been able to retake thanks to HIVE, beautiful songs like this that were simply kept in a folder, when in fact they deserve to be heard at any time and place. For this second round of the Hive Music Festival I made the effort to go home and record exclusively for it. It took me a while, yes, but it's worth all the effort.

      El frutero is a catchy song, it even provokes to dance and I don't know how to dance hahahaha. It has some complexities, at least very noticeable when we start on the instrument. A quick fragment in the second part is the most notable. I listened to it a lot before recording it and I like to remember with sweetness all that time I was in the estudiantina of my school playing this song, it was there where I learned it.

      I studied at the Escuela de Folclore Benito Galarraga, in Valencia Edo. Carabobo, I started with my teacher Clara Milagros Diaz who made me love the mandolin as I do today and although I have not seen her for years I am very fond of her. There I began to learn songs until I finally joined the estudiantina, almost a dream come true. I was just a little kid playing with the adults, at that time my feet did not reach the floor hahahaha; among the many songs we played, like many of the ones I have already brought to the HIVE community is the fruit bowl. Thanks to this estudiantina I improved as a musician and developed as a person for many years, being there until the completion of my studies in school.

It is rare, very rare, in fact in very few parts of the world there are native rhythms with these characteristics, here is another peculiarity of the frutero.      Pensé en traer este tema porque lo estamos tocando en la Orquesta Profesional Henry Rubio en la que participamos @guitarmcy y yo. Es un tema muy pero muy bonito, el arreglo en este caso es de Ibrahim Herrera, el maraquero de la orquesta.

     Cuando di mis primeros pasos en esta grandiosa canción lo hice viendo un cancionero de Carlos Cordero, era de música venezolana. En él había una gran diversidad de piezas, como San José, Sr Jou, A un amigo, etc. Y desde allí pude aprender mucha música de nuestra tradición. Criollísima para mí es un tema hermoso, que de hecho, describe a una hermosa mujer que representa todo lo que podemos llamar bello. Además, su melodía hace que esta descripción sea aún más hermosa. Como esta versión es instrumental no puedo tocarles la letra, pero sí su deleitante melodía.

     Siento que esta canción comienza con una profundidad admirable y a medida que el tema se va desarrollando podemos ver una expresión de la belleza en todas sus formas. Viendo así, la descripción de la hermosura de aquella mujer en todas las formas existentes. Podemos observar que quizás en ciertos aspectos es más tosca la forma de describirla o más profunda, pero nunca pierde ese toque único de poder expresar belleza sin tener que hacerlo siempre de la misma manera.

     Su última parte es increíble. Son notas algo largas si, pero que bonitas… me gusta mucho esa parte, siento que le da un último carácter a la descripción. Luego, terminando en un pequeño tarareo que nos devuelve a ese enfoque alegre y fugaz, dando así un final bastante certero a la obra, terminando con la felicidad de pensar en esa mujer tan hermosa.

     Gracias a HIVE he podido tomarle mucho más amor a las piezas que interpreto, antes no hubiese podido describir vagamente cualquier obra, por más que me gustara. Hoy, más que agradecerles por escucharme, quiero hacerlo porque me han enseñado mucho, porque me esfuerzo siempre para traerles buen contenido y con la mayor limpieza posible, tanto en mi texto como en mi música.

      Hello, Hive community! I hope you are well. Today I bring you Criollísima by Henry Martínez.

      I thought of bringing this song because we are playing it in the Henry Rubio Professional Orchestra in which @guitarmcy and I participate. It is a very, very nice song, the arrangement in this case is by Ibrahim Herrera, the maraquero of the orchestra.

      When I took my first steps in this great song I did it watching a songbook of Carlos Cordero, it was of Venezuelan music.       I feel that this song begins with an admirable depth and as the theme unfolds we can see an expression of beauty in all its forms.      Hola, comunidad de Hive! Hoy les saludo aquí en el Hive Open Mic! Quiero mostrarles esta vez un tema que me hace muy feliz.

     La temática de la semana es “Be Okay” (Estar bien). Me costó mucho pensar en la temática y relacionarla, pensar en un tema que quizás hablase de eso, de estar bien, de sentirse bien. Llevo varios días pensando en ello pero es hasta hoy que pensé ¿Y qué me hace a mí estar bien? Pues muchas cosas se me vinieron a la cabeza, directamente la música me hace estar bien pero ¿Qué tema podría traer? Pues Lagunillas, mi tema preferido.

     Como ya dije esta canción es mi favorita, la amo con el alma y la interpreto igual, desde adentro. Conocí esta canción hace un tiempo y la comencé a escuchar por muchas personas, mis mayores referencias han Sido Cristóbal Soto y, el mismo autor, Ricardo Mendoza. Éste último tiene una particularidad, es de las personas más expresivas que he escuchado, es un deleite escucharlo, simplemente magnífico, aquí no hablo de técnica, no hablo de cosas teóricas, sencillamente hablo de él siendo él, compartiendo con todo el que lo oye una genialidad incomparable.

     Comencé a tocar este tema y mi maestro me ayudó a pulir muchas partes, me dijo notas que me faltaban y otras que me sobraban, me dio hasta un adorno, es increíble lo que me enseñó con este tema y si en un show me piden otra sé que esta sería mi primera opción, no sólo por ser mi favorita sino que siento gran afinidad con el tema, es como “Mi cancion”. Recuerdo que cuando fui a Mérida con la Orquesta Henry Rubio toqué este tema ya que teníamos que tocar individualmente para una muestra y ni por un segundo me arrepentiré de hacerlo, es una parte de mí.

     Entonces ¿Qué es estar bien? Esta canción me hace feliz, más feliz que este ninguno. Puedo tocarlo por horas sin cansarme y jamás me saldrá igual, para bien o para mal, porque es una canción que me hace expresar todo lo que tengo dentro de mi ser, es lo que me hace a mí como ser humano exteriorizar todo lo que hay dentro de mí.

     Este tema tiene dos partes y las dos me hacen sentir bien, es como un contraste increíble que me ayuda a mostrar una dualidad porque las dos partes tienen cosas similares sólo que una es menor y la otra mayor. Aún con esas similitudes son totalmente diferentes, expresivamente lo son.

     Cada que me dispongo a interpretar este tema me conecto con él, indudablemente puedo hacerlo y es con el único hasta ahora que jamás he perdido conexión, aún después de mucho tiempo. Sé que sólo hablo de una canción, pero para mí es más que una canción. Es un sentimiento, es una expresión, es una luz que brilla por encima de todo y te da con suavidad la palmada que necesitas para continuar, es como la esperanza que encuentras al despertar o quizá como todo lo que anhelas escuchar; “sólo una canción” si las cosas fuesen así de simples…

     Hoy les traigo mi canción, la que me llena de alegría y me hace estar bien. Me encanta y hoy quiero mostrarla a ustedes gran comunidad del Hive Open Mic! Espero la disfruten!

     The theme of the week is "Be Okay". I had a hard time thinking of the theme and relating it, thinking of a theme that maybe talked about that, being okay, feeling okay.       As I said this song is my favorite, I love it with my soul and I interpret it the same way, from the inside. I knew this song some time ago and I started to listen to it by many people, my biggest references have been Cristobal Soto and, the author himself, Ricardo Mendoza. The latter has a particularity, he is one of the most expressive people I have ever heard, it is a delight to listen to him, simply magnificent, here I am not talking about technique, I am not talking about theoretical things, I am simply talking about him being him, sharing with everyone who hears him an incomparable genius.

      I started to play this song and my teacher helped me to polish many parts, he told me notes that I was missing and others that I had too many, he even gave me an ornament, it is incredible what he taught me with this song and if in a show they ask me for another one I know that this would be my first choice, not only because it is my favorite but I feel great affinity with the song, it is like "My song". I remember when I went to Mérida with the Henry Rubio Orchestra I played this song because we had to play individually for a show and not for a second will I regret doing it, it is a part of me.

      So what is it to be well? This song makes me happy, happier than this none. I can play it for hours without getting tired and it will never come out the same, for better or for worse, because it is a song that makes me express everything I have inside my being, it is what makes me as a human being externalize everything that is inside me.

      This song has two parts and both make me feel good, it's like an incredible contrast that helps me show a duality because the two parts have similar things only that one is minor and the other major. Even with those similarities they are totally different, expressively they are.

      Every time I set out to perform this song I connect with it, undoubtedly I can do it and it is the only one so far that I have never lost connection with, even after a long time. I know I'm just talking about a song, but for me it's more than a song. It's a feeling, it's an expression, it's a light that shines over everything and gently gives you the pat you need to continue, it's like the hope you find when you wake up or maybe like everything you long to hear; "just a song" if things were that simple....

     Hola, comunidad de music! Hoy vengo a compartirles un poco más de mi música, en este caso un hermoso vals. “Ahora” de Otilio Galíndez.

     Este vals me transporta directamente a un recuerdo, de hecho, por ello quise interpretarlo. Recuerdo que me invitaron a tocar en un acto con puros profesores, en aquel entonces era apenas un niño pero decían que necesitaban un mandolinista que leyera y una profesora me recomendó. En dicho acto, después de tocar con esa orquesta me quedé viendo el resto del concierto y recuerdo perfectamente que escuché a una muchacha cantando esta canción y quedé deslumbrado. En ese momento entendí cómo es que la música puede enamorar. Y aunque no recuerdo ni cómo era ella, ni su nombre, absolutamente nada, esa canción sigue siendo para mi un destello enternecedor que no te cansas de ver.

      Ya tenía tiempo sin escuchar el tema pero no hay necesidad ni de escucharlo en mi cabeza seguía sonando. Cuan bello puede ser un recuerdo bien atesorado, es invaluable y te deja un buen sabor de boca, algo bonito y quizá fugaz que te hace feliz recordar.

      La belleza es dependiente de los ojos del que mira, ya lo he dicho antes y quizá no me canse de hacerlo. Existen infinidad de canciones en el mundo pero para mí esta tiene un valor especial porque en su momento escucharlo por primera vez fue impactante y conmovedor.

      Miramos hacia atrás y vemos que hay tantas cosas hermosas, pero en el presente también las hay, quizá más pero no somos capaces de apreciarlas, por ejemplo, esta canción que me acompaña desde el pasado pero que hoy me da felicidad en el presente.

     Los dejaré con esta canción que me conmueve y me encanta, que está llena de matices y sutilezas, espero les guste mi interpretación.

     Hola, comunidad de Hive! Hoy les saludo en la semana N° 31 ronda N°1 del Hive music Festival! Trayendo para ustedes Epa Isidoro del maestro Bollo Frometa.

     Un tema hermoso y emblemático! Lo conocí apenas en mi preparatorio de Mandolina y mi mamá escuchandome me buscó la canción. En ella hay muchas sutilezas y grandes matices que la hacen ser pegajosas, la canción es una genialidad que apenas tiene dos partes pero que una va de la otra, como anillo al dedo.

     Primero tenemos como una presentación que de hecho la letra dice “Epa Isidoro, buena broma que me echaste…” nos dicen el nombre desde el principio jajajaja pero además de la ironía yo lo veo como una especie de introducción, directamente te dicen de que va la canción. Habla de que Isidoro se fue de Caracas.

     Ya en la segunda parte el tono cambia un poco, no hablo de la tonalidad en sí, más bien del carácter. Comenzamos como con una especie de lamento (porque se fue Isidoro), que va subiendo progresivamente hasta llegar nuevamente al principio del tema. En esta segunda parte vemos un clímax increíble que nos deja con suavidad llegar de nuevo al inicio del tema, para así seguir disfrutando de esta maravillosa canción.

     Epa Isidoro además de ser una canción icónica le guardo mucho amor, estaba pensando en qué grabar para ustedes y buscaba algo que para mí fuese especial, mientras buscaba tomé mi primera carpeta de música, de cuando tenía apenas unos 9 años. Allí volví a ver este tema. Apenas venía llegando a Valencia entonces llamé a Roher para que grabara las maracas, él fue a mi casa como a las 6:30 pm sólo para grabar este tema conmigo y se lo agradezco mucho. Ya luego la parte de la edición sí me tardé pero lo disfruté muchísimo, es maravilloso recordar con tanta dulzura fragmentos alegres de tu niñez que para bien o para mal se quedaron ahí guardados en tu corazón.

     Para mí Epa Isidoro es casi un himno, es un emblema y hoy quise traer esta gran canción. Un fuerte abrazo, mi querida comunidad de Music zone! Espero que les guste.

     Hola, querida comunidad de music! Cómo están? Espero todos se encuentren muy bien.

     Como ya saben ayer fue el día de las madres y es que justamente ayer quería traerles esta canción, lastimosamente no pude… pero me esforcé aún más para que el trabajo estuviera lo mejor posible para ustedes. Como lo digo en el título esta canción está dedicada a mi mamá, Tulimaica Rivas. Es su canción favorita.

     Este tema desde chiquito siempre me acompaña y tiene un valor sentimental importante, recuerdo que fue una partitura que me dieron cuando estaba comenzando y fui montando poco a poco y hasta el sol de hoy no me canso de tocarla, a pesar de que sea una canción que toque todo el mundo creo que cada quien le agrega su personalidad.

     Mi mamá siempre me ha apoyado con todo, con la música especialmente, y eso es raro porque la mayoría de las personas ven la música como algo pasajero y ya, pero yo no y ella me apoyó en eso. Me consiguió una mejor mandolina cuando la necesite y desde pequeño hacia de todo para que asistiera a mis clases, desde pagar transporte hasta quedarse esperando toda la tarde por mí.

     Con el tiempo he avanzado en mi instrumento así como he avanzado como persona y eso se lo agradezco a ella. Justo ahora estoy en Caracas y he podido valerme por mí mismo por lo que ella me ha enseñado, por todos los modales y reglas que uno desde pequeño ve como tonterías, que a pesar de que algunas lo sean tienden a tener gran relevancia en el futuro. Hoy le dedico esta canción, quizá ya lo he hecho con anterioridad pero no me canso de tocarla ni de escucharla y si no puedo decirles más sobre la canción es porque para mí este tema sencillamente es ella.

     Gracias a mi mamá estoy donde estoy y voy en el camino que quiero. Porque es más que dar la vida, es estar presente en la misma, apoyando y ayudando, siendo de verdad una madre. Te amo mucho, mamá! Y aunque celebramos ayer el día de las madres hoy te vuelvo a felicitar por ser la mejor mamá, feliz día!

      Hola, comunidad del Hive Open Mic, les saludo en esta semana 161!

     Quiero primero que nada felicitar a todos los usuarios que han participado esta semana en el HIVE OPEN MIC ya que gracias al tema de la semana que es canción original muchos nos mostraron desde lo más profundo de ellos mismos sus temas originales.

     Hoy les traigo un tema original de Manuel E. Vilera “Chiquinquirá”. Un vals venezolano compuesto originalmente para violín y dedicado especialmente a Chiquinquirá Benítez.

     Manuel es mi amigo que está aquí en Caracas, él es de las Mercedes del Llano y el cómo conocí esta canción es algo cómico. Nos disponíamos a ensayar para un concierto familiar que íbamos a dar, en un momento me nombró ese tema que me gustó mucho pero no pude tocar de arriba abajo nunca porque me llegaban WhatsApp al teléfono y también mensajes de texto jajajajaja entonces aunque no lo pude hacer completo me encantó lo que había tocado y lo que ya había escuchado. Él me pasó la partitura y aproveché de imprimirlo en la universidad.

     Este tema tiene peculiaridades, cosas maravillosas, para mí es una joya que aún no han descubierto pero cuando lo hagan aseguro que todos se enamorarán de la obra.

     Chiquinquirá tiene tres partes. En la segunda cuando entramos en modo mayor se escucha un clímax que expone una máxima felicidad, en donde casi todo va hacia el registro agudo pero con sutileza y dulzura. En la tercera, comenzamos a entrar en una especie de reposo, es un descanso por así decirlo, como un recuento de lo que pasó, es como un desahogo donde exploramos por última vez aspectos existentes en toda la obra. Es como conocer a una persona, siempre hay momentos de mayor interés, de mayor felicidad y en algún momento muchas cosas se volverán normales, sin embargo, sabes que como ella no hay dos y eso lo refleja en su última parte que da un final sublime y maravilloso.

     Es una pieza técnica e interpretativamente compleja, que seguiré estudiando y luego tocaré con él para mostrarles como suena de las manos de su autor.

Hola, comunidad de Music!

     Me gusta mucho aprender y traerles contenido nuevo y diverso, a veces diferente a lo que estoy acostumbrado pero ese es el reto! Ser mejor para ustedes y traer siempre la mejor versión de mí

      “Mía” – Armando Manzanero. Un temazo! Un gran tema que me ha dejado impresionado, lo conocí en Youtube interpretado por el mismo manzanero y luego lo escuché en una versión maravillosa como es la del disco del pollo Brito en homenaje a manzanero.

     La tarea del músico es interpretar y las grandes letras de manzanero junto a esas melodías eran perfectas, todo tan expresivo, emotivo y hermoso, sencillamente increíble. Él será recordado por ser un gran compositor de esos que escriben con el alma y lo dejan todo en el papel para después cantarlo y dejarte anonadado. ¿Quién no quisiera que me dedicaran un tema de él?

     Para los instrumentistas ya no es la letra la que van a destacar sino la melodía, y es su trabajo hacer que esa melodía sea lo más expresiva y auténtica posible para que pueda llegar aunque sea a una persona. Hoy les dejo todo de mi en este presentación, comunidad de HIVE. Quiero mostrarles mis avances y todo lo que he podido entender sobre expresar, me encantaría que al escuchar los temas que interprete ustedes puedan sentirse como yo, amo mi música y me esforzaré cada día por traerles cosas diferentes y variadas que puedan disfrutar rodos los días.

     Gracias a todos en esta gran comunidad de HIVE que apoyan mucho a los demás Hivers con sus votos y sus comentarios.       I really enjoy learning and bringing you new and diverse content, sometimes different from what I'm used to but that's the challenge! To be better for you and always bring the best version of me.

      "Mía" - Armando Manzanero. A great song! A great song that has left me impressed, I met it on Youtube interpreted by the same manzanero and then I heard it in a wonderful version as it is the pollo Brito's album in tribute to manzanero.

     Hola, querida comunidad de Music! Hoy les traigo a ustedes un nuevo tema titulado “Natalia” de Luis laguna.

     Con este tema hay muchas cosas particulares, por ejemplo, el nombre. Cuando uno dice “voy a tocar Natalia…” te preguntan si la de Antonio Lauro y es entendible, es un tema famoso pero me gustaría que viesen la increíble belleza que tiene este tema de Luis laguna.

     Natalia es un vals, una canción de cuna propiamente, por esto último no le presté mucha atención por bastante tiempo hasta que la escuché en vivo. Sólo pude pensar “que preciosidad! Yo quiero tocar ese tema” y por ello hoy se los traigo.

     Explicándoles un poco sobre el tema, tiene una parte que se repite y varía al final, luego hacemos lo mismo una octava arriba, es decir, más agudo. Parece simple ¿no? Irónicamente, esa sencillez le da algo que no tienen muchos otros temas y eso es dulzura. Escuchar este tema es escuchar notas y notas llenas de dulzura y un ambiente frágil que te relaja con cada sonido que aparece.

     La belleza está en todo, más fácil de ver en este tema. Quiero compartir con ustedes cómo me hace sentir... ¿Cuántos han estado en ese estado de relajación absoluta que los hace perderse en la infinidad del universo? Algo así siento cuando toco y escucho este tema. Es increíble como todos nuestros sentidos pueden cambiar su percepción de todo sólo con una canción y que este tema es más que una simple canción, es una genialidad. Luis Laguna fue uno de los compositores venezolanos más influyentes, su música marcó una era en nuestra cultura y aún lo sigue haciendo porque pasarán más de mil años y seguiremos recordando y disfrutando de sus temas.

     Natalia, una canción quizá menos conocida que la de Lauro pero igual de disfrutable y buena, diría que están dedicadas para cosas diferentes, de hecho. Esta versión es más del deleite interpretativo que del técnico, porque quizá con ella podemos ver facetas del interprete que no vemos con otras obras. Porque en la de Lauro vemos un despliegue técnico fenomenal y complejo, ¿pero qué es más hermoso? ¿Qué disfrutas más? ¿Qué significa para ti la belleza? Para mí los dos temas tienen gran mérito y son igual de bellos a su manera, sin embargo, el más hermoso será el que más te guste a ti, eso es algo muy personal y personalmente tocaría este tema una y mil veces, en cualquier lugar y a cualquier hora.

      Hello, dear Music community! Today I bring to you a new song titled "Natalia" by Luis laguna.

      With this song there are many particular things, for example, the name. When you say "I'm going to play Natalia..." they ask you if it's Antonio Lauro's song and it's understandable, it's a famous song but I would like you to see the incredible beauty of this song by Luis laguna.

      Natalia is a waltz, a proper lullaby, so I didn't pay much attention to it for a long time until I heard it live. All I could think was "how beautiful! I want to play that song" and so today I bring it to you.

      Explaining a little about the theme, it has a part that repeats and varies at the end, then we do the same an octave up, that is, higher. It seems simple, doesn't it? Ironically, that simplicity gives it something that many other themes do not have and that is sweetness. Listening to this track is listening to notes and notes full of sweetness and a fragile atmosphere that relaxes you with each sound that appears.

      Beauty is in everything, easier to see in this track. I want to share with you how it makes me feel? How many of you have been in that state of absolute relaxation that makes you get lost in the infinity of the universe? Something like that I feel when I play and listen to this track. It's amazing how all our senses can change their perception of everything just with a song and that this track is more than just a song, it's genius. Luis Laguna was one of the most influential Venezuelan composers, his music marked an era in our culture and still continues to do so because more than a thousand years will pass and we will continue to remember and enjoy his songs.

      Natalia, a song perhaps less known than Lauro's but just as enjoyable and good, I would say that they are dedicated to different things, in fact. This version is more of an interpretative delight than a technical one, because perhaps with it we can see facets of the interpreter that we do not see with other works. Because in Lauro's we see a phenomenal and complex technical display, but what is more beautiful? What do you enjoy more? What does beauty mean to you? For me both themes have great merit and are equally beautiful in their own way, however, the most beautiful will be the one you like the most, that is something very personal and personally I would play this theme a thousand times, anywhere and at any time.

     Hola, respetada comunidad de music!

     En esta oportunidad les traigo una pieza diferente, o al menos un fragmento de la misma. Andante con variaciones en D de Beethoven, para mandolina y piano, en esta ocasión les traigo la variación N° 5, 6 y la Coda, con la que finaliza la pieza. Quise mostrarles esta pieza para poder enseñar más sobre la mandolina académica en Venezuela.

     Qué increíble como grandes compositores como Beethoven hayan escrito algo para mandolina, de hecho, escribió cuatro piezas; las variaciones en D, el Adagio y dos sonatinas, una en C mayor y otra en C menor y, además, se dice que esta pieza la escribió para una mujer! Quizá típico de los compositores, pero a diferencia de muchas de las piezas de este autor en ésta se le notaba otro semblante.

     En el momento que escribió esta pieza, lo hizo con un buen humor, él en ese entonces estaba joven y no estaba sordo, además de ello también estaba enamorado de la condesa Josephine Von Clary quien era mandolinista, dedicándole a ella estas obras que a mí sinceramente me encantan. Deduzco que ella era una gran mandolinista puesto que en ciertas partes de la obra la dificultad es alta y alguien que toque sólo por hobby difícilmente podrá tocarlas.

¿Por qué a partir de la variación N°5?

     Sencillo, esa es mi variación favorita. Además, en ésta ocurre un cambio brusco en la pieza, cambiamos de modo, si se dan cuenta se escucha como triste ese fragmento, esa parte está en modo menor, contrastando con todas las demás variaciones que están en modo mayor. Justo en ese pedazo rompemos y moldeamos el tema, como abriendo una puerta hacia lo que será definitivamente el final, tan alegre como el principio de la obra.

     Ya en la sexta variación encontramos mucha alegría y felicidad, ahí ya estamos en modo mayor, es como una atmósfera que sólo te genera emoción. Por ello mencionaba que era joven y aún escuchaba porque aquí podemos notar la alegría, que después se vería mermada por sus problemas de salud, pero que está presente en este movimiento que dan ganas de bailar.

     Esta, junto a otras piezas, es lo que se estudia en mandolina académica, son diferentes formas y técnicas de tocar el instrumento, muy útiles para cualquier cosa que quieras hacer y estas van cambiando según el periodo histórico en el que nos encontremos.

     La música es muy rica y diversa y para mí la academizacion del instrumento es algo que lo hará evolucionar y perdurar con el tiempo. Hoy les comparto con mucho amor esta pieza que a mí me gusta mucho.

     Esta obra concretamente es del periodo clásico. Espero la disfruten.

      This time I bring you a different piece, or at least a fragment of it. Andante with variations in D by Beethoven, for mandolin and piano, this time I bring you the variation N° 5, 6 and the Coda, with which the piece ends. I wanted to show you this piece to teach you more about the academic mandolin in Venezuela.

      How incredible how great composers like Beethoven wrote something for mandolin, in fact, he wrote four pieces; the variations in D, the Adagio and two sonatinas, one in C major and one in C minor and, in addition, it is said that this piece was written for a woman! Perhaps typical of composers, but unlike many of this composer's pieces, in this one he had a different countenance.

      At the time he wrote this piece, he did it in a good mood, he was young at that time and was not deaf, besides that he was also in love with the Countess Josephine Von Clary who was a mandolinist, dedicating to her these works that I sincerely love. I deduce that she was a great mandolinist since in certain parts of the work the difficulty is high and someone who plays just for a hobby will hardly be able to play them.

Why from variation N°5 onwards?

      Simple, that's my favorite variation. Besides, in this one there is an abrupt change in the piece, we change mode, if you notice it sounds like sad that fragment, that part is in minor mode, contrasting with all the other variations that are in major mode. Just in that piece we break and shape the theme, as if opening a door towards what will definitely be the end, as joyful as the beginning of the piece.

      Already in the sixth variation we find a lot of joy and happiness, there we are already in major mode, it is like an atmosphere that only generates emotion. That's why I mentioned that he was young and still listened because here we can notice the joy, which later would be diminished by his health problems, but which is present in this movement that makes you want to dance.

      This, along with other pieces, is what is studied in academic mandolin, are different ways and techniques of playing the instrument, very useful for anything you want to do and these are changing according to the historical period in which we find ourselves.

      Music is very rich and diverse and for me the academization of the instrument is something that will make it evolve and endure over time. Today I share with much love this piece that I like very much.
