As announced in the video, The 2026 Hive chess tournament starts very soon. Date and other information to be announced.

I'd like to say this week has gone great as regards chess and the onboarding project. Special thanks to the community for welcoming every single chess player.

It all started as an Idea and now through social media platforms like X, Instagram, I have players from all of over Africa asking me "What is Hive?" How can we play chess on Hive. This week, we also dominated Liga4 as our team finished first. You can get that information and more here on this post.

We dominated as our team became way stronger due to the Introduction of new players.

Yesterday, I had my second Hive lecture with the newbies where I picked up from the previous class. In this class, I reviewed their Introduction posts, explained Communities on Hive, Rewards and Curation System, HBD, Hive power & also hinted on Layer 2 tokens.

What we accomplished in the class

• Players learnt about communities on Hive and How to write posts outside their intro posts.

• Players learnt how to stake Hive and How rewards system works (see timestamp 18:30 as @poseout87 asked and staked his Hive rewards from tournaments during the class)

• Players Learnt Effective engagement is key to success on Hive

Conclusion

We had @stuffings who wrote his Introduction post recently join the class. It's interesting to note, International Master @tenny-trigah also joined the class as we had a total of 11 players during the class.

Special thanks to @stayoutoftherz for creating accounts and @aliento for delegating resources to these players. I'd also like to thank @acidyo too for his support as we got alot of visibility from his reblog on one of the introduction post! Thanks to everyone too. I have every player's Introductions on my blog, feel free to follow or support them.

As stated in my first post, I'd be starting a weekly tournament every Saturday from next month. This tournament would aim to support both old and new players on the blockchain.

Hello Everyone,

Glad to announce my idea is now a reality as the first onboarding lecture for the chess players started today.

In today's first class, I covered what Hive is all about, The Hive frontend, Hive keys and gave a breakdown of the communities on Hive and how to write an introductory post. In this class we had about 12 players complete the 1 hour session.

To make the class fun, I gave tasks to the players and rewards to their newly created account. Tasks that included joining new communities and making comments on posts.

Also a fun Chess tournament was done after the class on lichess.org. we had two international masters play alongside three female players. A total number of 11 players played the event after the class

Big Progress

I was quite happy to see the players complete their tasks very fast and also their willingness to be part of something. I had @kintokris also known as Jon bellion Fan help me with teaching them how to make an introductory post. I believe from tomorrow, the players would start dropping them.

The Initiative Continues

The African chess invitationals is still in the cards as top players all over Africa already received invitations to play and get rewarded in Hive. The tournament even yet to begin as brought a lot of awareness and publicity which is one the reasons why the onboarding chess players has started.

I’d continue to drop updates and from tomorrow the the players would start dropping their introduction posts in the community.
