It was Dr. Ruth Del Rosario who first announced the person she picked up, Ptr. Felix. Since Felix was not around, JM, that great dancer informed us that Felix picked up @kopiko-blanca.

@kopiko-blanca then got his gift for our registrar, Mam Weng. She was very happy with that stuff toy.

Next JM was the one who picked up my name. He gave me four coffee mugs.
I was next to announce the recipient of my gift. I called Shenna, but it was actually Dr. Ruth. Shenna got nervous for she’s afraid to receive a duster.

@ryansskie was next. He picked up Rowena Dave. From the background, you will hear Shenna spoke, “I’m nervous about this couple” referring to the Cruz couple, my sister and brother-in-law.

Rowene got a hoodie plus a 100.00 peso bill.

The video ended with my brother-in-law receiving Maxim coffee and several pairs of socks. As he made known the recipient of his gift, he said “duster,” again making Shenna nervous.

That's how we celebrate Christmas by exchanging gifts filled with jokes, nervous laughter, and the unforgettable fear of receiving a duster.

After my birthday celebration and office hours, I went straight to the second floor of the new Administration Building to attend the Prayer Meeting of DasPres.

Rev. Ernie Gloria, the church planter and also my instructor during my student years way back in 1986, asked us to share our testimonies and thanksgiving. I shared my involvement in Hive and my recent transition to the Dolphin status. Though they don't understand fully what I mean by a digital community, they are glad about the improvement of my account. I anticipate that sooner or later, my colleagues both in the school and the church will start exploring what Hive is all about.

After the testimony, Ptr. Ernie continued his series on Christian identity. He reviewed the three categories of salvation including the past, the present, and the future. The past has something to do with justification and it is a one-time event. The present is where the battle is raging in our fight against sin. The future points to glorification, which is the destiny of all God's children.

Continuing the series, he asked someone to read Genesis 1:27, which speaks about man and woman being created in the image of God. He then relates this theme to the inscription of the image of the king in ancient coins. He told us that it has something to do with identification. The name and title of the king help identify who issued the coin and assert their authority over the currency.

In the Old Testament narrative, he cited the example of Moses representing "The Great I am" before Pharaoh, the most powerful ruler of that time.

Theologically, he connects this knowledge of human identity to the knowledge of God. He finds support based on the idea of the great reformer of the 16th century that encapsulates wisdom in the interrelationship between the knowledge of self and the knowledge of God. Overall, this is where he found the basis for the meaning and significance of human identity.

After a short Bible study, Ptr. Ernie shared some prayer concerns. He also asked us about our prayer requests. I made a list of all the requests and this will serve as my prayer guide for days to come. I am grateful that on my birthday, I have this opportunity once again to attend a prayer gathering like this. This is my prayer list:

• Opportunity to invite people. Keep inviting and pray.

• Growth of basic education in PTSCAS

• Numerical and spiritual growth of DasPres

• Formation of praise and worship team

• The upcoming graduation. Pray for both the graduating students and the faculty and staff.

• Majid's missionary visa, and

• The flood both in Dubai and Pakistan.

As I started my reading, the first material I stumbled upon are those that prmote the vision of Saudi Arabia for 2030 that focuses on digitalization and financial inclusion, which to my mind are nothing but poor imitation of the genuine thing.

In this video, I would like to share about the shifting stance on CBDC, the update on Bitcoin ETF, and the recent development in the XRP drama.

• I downloaded and installed the 3Speak Desktop app

• I added my Hive account by typing my username and my private posting key.

• I went to settings, start Proof of Access and waited for several to sync. Once synced, you can see your node name and the total number of local pins.

• To pin a video, go to New Content, open a video, download to IPFS node.

• To see the pinned videos, go to Settings and click Pins.

• To test the Proof of Access validation, go to spk.tv. You will see there that you need to type your Hive username and the video's CID.

• To get the CID, return to pinned videos, click view and copy the string of characters that start with letter Q.

• Go back to spk.tv, write your username, paste the CID, and click submit.

• Wait for the validation to turn green, and that's it!

So, you see, Hive’s LeoFinance is way ahead of Elon Musk's "everything app" on Twitter and Zuckerberg's "threads" on Instagram. This means that those ideas are on the cutting edge of today's trends. It so happened that LeoFinance's platform is Web 3 and Twitter and Facebook's platform is Web 2 which is popular to many.

The word “orange”in the bitcoinmagazine.com article captures my attention. This is because just a week ago, I made an avatar to represent me in my crypto talk here on 3Speak. Most of the time, I am not in the mood to speak and not even that well-dressed to appear in front of the screen (publicly online). That’s why I thought using Mr. Orange as my representative is my best option.

And then before reading the above article, I tried to do prior research to identify the meaning of “orange-pilling opportunity”. Since I am not a native English speaker, most American idioms escape my understanding. So, I thought perhaps the term “orange” has a special connotation among native English speakers in the crypto space.

When I input “orange-pilling opportunity” into my search bar, I learned that the term “orange pill” is a meme taken from that scene in the film The Matrix referring to the choice of taking either the red pill or the blue pill. If I understand it correctly the orange pill is not for those who choose to stay in the artificial world but only relevant and applicable for those who already took the red pill. In this context, taking the orange pill would mean learning the basics of the world of Bitcoin and crypto. I now realized that I have been doing this for the last 22 months; I have been taking the orange pill for almost close to two years now.

After understanding the meaning of the term, I returned to reading the above article expecting to learn something new. After reading it, I realized that the writer is simply trying to issue a challenge to Bitcoin people to take the opportunity to talk about the basics of Bitcoin to their barbers and hair stylists. Coming from the beauty industry for four decades and being now a convinced advocate of Bitcoin, the writer is passionate about finding effective ways to introduce the basics of Bitcoin. He even advises that in sharing the fundamentals of Bitcoin with your barbers, try to be strategic with your approach by identifying their issues and the advantages that they can receive. He warns us not to overwhelm our hairdressers with excessive information. Instead, do it slowly and naturally. You will have another opportunity the next time you visit him or her for your haircut.

Now, what key takeaway can we learn from the above article, “Orange Pilling Your Barber or Stylist: A Short Cut to Hyperbitcoinization”?

One of the major complaints about Hive even within the community itself is the complexity of understanding the technology side of it. How can we apply the “orange pill” approach? I am still struggling to answer this question. I think the three insights that the writer mentioned serve as a good start. If we really want to see the desired network effect of Hive as a Web 3 platform, we need to come up with a basic understanding of Hive that we can use as a strategy to introduce the network to the people we know. Our target is not only barbers and hairdressers but everyone especially those who have issues with the existing system.

And so, let us cover the three suggested starting point:

Be Strategic

What are the issues most people face? Being unbanked is one. Being excluded from the financial system is another. The rising cost of living is a reality that most of our friends struggle with. The failure of the political class to deliver their promises is a worn-out narrative that many have already given up.

In what way Hive can address these issues? In Hive, we have an inclusive system that regardless of gender, faith, color, and nationality anyone can join. In Hive, anyone thinking about his or her future can now address that challenge by sticking with a long-term mindset in building his or her Hive business. In Hive, one can take now concrete action to change his financial future.

What we see demonstrated in the Borehole project in Ghana, in the businesses in Cumaná, Venezuela, and even the initial efforts to introduce Hive in some schools and universities are concrete examples that Hive is not just mere talk but meeting real needs and addressing real issues.

Start with the Basics

Visiting hive.io for the first time, if you are not into technology, you will find yourself overwhelmed by excessive information. Let us not do this with the first-timers. Let us start with the basics. Let us introduce to them the platform that they can understand. In my case, I find somee.social the most appropriate platform to introduce to my wife for it appears like Facebook. The only difference is the monetization aspect. If our friends are into creating short videos, let us introduce 3Speak to them. The point is to introduce our friend or anyone we have regular acquaintance with to the front end that would make sense to them the most.

Do It Slowly

I need this reminder for this practical step is the most difficult for me to follow. Being an educator, I want to be comprehensive as possible in my approach to any particular field. The setback is I bring this tendency into my conversation. The result is that my listeners are overwhelmed by too much information due to my excitement. I think I need to learn how to tame my passion. I want to see a different outcome. I need to refrain from talking about the complicated aspect of Hive and focus instead on simple things that people can understand.

I think I need to come up with a list of benefits of choosing Hive and demonstrate to them how to do an online transaction. Hopefully, their response will change not only because they will see Hive as very promising, but they will also come to the conclusion that if I can do it, they can do it also.

As I said this is just an initial step. The goal for anyone who wants to see the realization of the network effect of Hive as a Web 3 alternative is to come up with a basic understanding of the platform that we can use as a strategy to introduce the network to the people we know.

Since 2015, I have been hearing a lot of good things about BlackRock when I started trading in the Philippines Stock market. However, my knowledge is just superficial. All I know is that BlackRock is a big name in the investment world. Beyond that information, I know nothing about the details and the nature of the investment of this giant financial firm.

Now, with this recent press release from cryptoglobe.com about BlackRock entering into the crypto space, this made me curious to dig a little deeper into the involvement of this financial titan.

In Wikipedia, BlackRock is described as “the largest asset management company in the world.” In terms of age, it is still very young. It was established in 1988 and so that would make the firm just 35 years old.

What I find impressive in this company is its client base which includes huge companies, the big names in the institutional and individual investing world, as well as sovereign governments.

Now, with the involvement of governments in BlackRock, this made me reflect on the recent interference of governments in the crypto space.

One, if governments are included among their clients, I am now wondering about the future of regulation and legal issues that Centralized Exchanges (CEXes) are facing today such as Coinbase and Binance. Especially, in relation to the US government. Perhaps, unlike other governments, BlackRock doesn’t manage any fund related to the US government because if they have, then how you would reconcile BlackRock’s move with the US government fund being managed by BlackRock? If the US government has any funds entrusted to BlackRock, how can the SEC for instance sustain their goal of destroying the space?

Or if the US government has an investment managed by BlackRock, perhaps, these assets are in safer financial instruments and not necessarily in the field of cryptocurrency.

And then another thought, perhaps the hostility of the US government against cryptocurrency is motivated by those who either don’t understand that character of the space or if they do understand, they don’t like the idea of transferring financial sovereignty back to the people. They want to be in control.

Nevertheless, as far as Japan, Kuwait, and Abu Dhabi are concerned, whether the governments of these nations are crypto-friendly or not, one thing is clear: these governments trust BlackRock with their sovereign wealth funds and that’s why we see BlackRock managing the Government Pension Investment Fund (GPIF) of Japan, the Kuwait Investment Authority (KIA), and the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA).

Pension funds like "the California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS), New York City Pension Funds, and Teacher Retirement System of Texas" are just a few notable organizations that put their trust in BlackRock. Along with big businesses like General Electric (GE), IBM, and Microsoft, insurance firms have entrusted BlackRock with managing their assets.

Its clients include central banks as well, which surprises me. Examples include the Bank of England, the European Central Bank, and the Bank of Japan.

Last but not least, BlackRock is responsible for managing universities like Stanford University and Harvard University as well as charitable organizations like the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

We could therefore conclude from BlackRock's client list that it is truly a massive, mammoth in the investing industry.

Now, returning to our question: “Does the entry of BlackRock in cryptocurrency signal the return of the Bull Market?” What did BlackRock do by the way that would cause us to consider such a question?

We are told that BlackRock moves into the cryptocurrency space by filing for a spot Bitcoin ETF and it is considered the major catalyst for the recent rally in the price of Bitcoin. And then the wider cryptocurrency market followed in such a price rally. Even meme coins like PEPE have experienced significant gain as well as other names such as ETH, BNB, and XRP.

Inspired by the action of BlackRock, we are also told that 96% of professional investors are considering making cryptocurrency investments. This is according to the survey conducted by Laser Digital. And so, these financial companies are now following BlackRock in this Bitcoin ETF thing.

What’s your take on this?
