I can tell you that Afropium celebrates the African heritage in my country and its vibrant influence. It brings together music, dance, fashion, and visual arts, creating experiences that promote cultural exchange and social transformation. They have gained a large following.

As a DJ, I would like to post short sets here mixing African music, although I haven't decided on a specific genre yet. I'll let you know soon, and I hope you like them.

Being a DJ or instrumentalist isn't just about playing music; it's also about knowing how to combine sounds, please an audience, and create unforgettable experiences. Today, I'd like to introduce you to Yanay, a Cuban DJ and instrumentalist who plays both the piano and wind instruments.

Ser DJ o Instrumentista no es simplemente tocar música, es también saber combinar sonidos, complacer a un público y crear experiencias inolvidables. Hoy les presento a Yanay, una DJ Instrumentista cubana que se desempeña tanto en el piano como en instrumentos de vientos.

El planeta era mucho más de lo que habían conocido en un principio. Nadie se imaginaba las sorpresas que traía. Estaba revelando sus más oscuros secretos como criaturas extrañas, tormentas implacables y ahora aparecía algo mas profundo. Un gran misterio que nadie podía ver, pero si escuchar y sentir.

Nights for the colonists were generally very peaceful. When the winds stopped whipping and the lights went out, a total silence enveloped the entire planet. It was a silence so profound and so vast that it seemed to erase all thoughts. However, some claimed to hear a murmur, a distant echo that pulsed at frequencies that were practically impossible to hear.

Las noches para los colonos por lo general eran bien tranquilas. Cuando los vientos dejaban de oscilar y las luces se apagaban un silencio total cubría todo el Planeta. Era un silencio tan profundo y tan grande que parecía borrar los pensamientos. Sin embargo, algunos afirmaban escuchar un murmullo, un eco bien lejano que latía en frecuencias que prácticamente era imposible escuchar.

Many thought it was a trick of the imagination caused by fatigue or exhaustion. But as the reports began to mount, everything became more credible. Explorers claimed to feel vibrations from the ground at night, children hummed melodies they heard in their dreams, and elders claimed the winds carried voices when they stopped blowing.

Muchos pensaban que era una mala jugada de la imaginación causada por la fatiga o el cansancio. Pero cuando los informes comenzaron a crecer todo era mas creíble. Exploradores afirmaban sentir vibraciones desde el suelo en la noche, los niños tarareaban melodías que escuchaban en sus sueños y los ancianos aseguraban que los vientos traían voces cuando dejaban de soplar.

Intrigued, Rachel sought out scientists and musicians for a special mission. What was this phenomenon? The team brought sensors, recorders, and even musical instruments. They sought to test whether that sound in the silence was just a product of her mind.

Rachel intrigada buscó a científicos y músicos para realizar una misión especial. ¿Cuál era este fenómeno? El equipo llevó sensores, grabadoras e incluso instrumentos musicales. Buscaban probar si ese sonido en el silencio era solo producto de su mente.

They all traveled to an isolated plateau far from the colony. There, without much delay, they began setting up their equipment in total silence. The night brought them only the sound of the wind, nothing significant, and they remained like that for hours without detecting anything. The colonists were not discouraged; everyone was certain of the purpose of their mission and had to fulfill it. It was after midnight when the sensors began to register vibrations in the ground. They were weak but constant.

Viajaron todos hacia una meseta aislada bien lejos de la colonia. Allí sin mucha espera comenzaron a instalar sus equipos en medio de un silencio total. La noche solo les traía el soplar del viento nada relevante, y estuvieron así durante horas sin captar nada. Los colonos no se desalentaban, todos estaban seguros del propósito de su misión y debían cumplirlo. Fue pasada la media noche cuando los sensores comenzaron a registrar vibraciones en el suelo. Eran débiles pero constantes.

Everyone stared at each other wordlessly as they watched one of the musicians, inspired by the vibrations, take out a stringed instrument and begin to play a simple melody in time with the vibrations. The incredible thing happened: the waves began to intensify. It was as if the planet were responding to them.

Todos se miraron sin decir una palabra cuando vieron a uno de los músicos inspirado en las vibraciones sacar un instrumento de cuerda y empezar a tocar una melodía sencilla siguiendo el ritmo que marcaban las vibraciones. The entire colony began studying this phenomenon. Scientists discovered that the arrangement of the tunnels in the caves functioned as natural resonators, amplifying the planet's geological vibrations. The strangest thing of all, and one that could not be explained, was the way these vibrations seemed to interact with human music. A harmonic echo was generated that enveloped everyone present whenever they synchronized.

La colonia entera comenzó a estudiar ese fenómeno. Los científicos pudieron descubrir que la disposición de los túneles en las cuevas funcionaba como resonadores naturales, por lo que amplificaban las vibraciones geológicas del planeta. Lo mas raro de todo y que no se podía explicar era la forma en que esas vibraciones parecían interactuar con la música humana. Se generaba un eco armónico que envolvía a todos los presentes cada vez que se sincronizaban.

Now they had a new nocturnal activity. In the crystal caves, musicians, children, and the elderly—and the entire colony—gathered to sing together. The planet responded with its echo, and everyone enjoyed this blend of nature and humanity. They called them "The Echo Evenings." Everyone understood that they were not alone and that the world that welcomed them also had its own voice. They just needed to learn to listen to it.

Ahora tenían una nueva actividad nocturna. En las cuevas de cristal se reunían músicos, niños, ancianos en general toda la colonia para cantar juntos. El planeta les respondía con su eco y todos disfrutaban de esa mezcla entre naturaleza y humanidad. Las llamaron “Las Veladas del eco”. Todos comprendían que no estaban solos y que el mundo que los acogió tenía también su propia voz. Solo debían aprender a escucharla.

As time passed, the songs of the Veladas were passed down from generation to generation. New melodies were composed inspired by the echoes of the planet, and instruments were even designed from resonant crystals found in the caves. This resulted in the birth of a new music blending technology, nature, and human feeling.

Al pasar del tiempo las canciones de las Veladas se fueron transmitiendo de generación en generación. Nuevas melodías fueron compuestas inspiradas en los ecos del planeta, e incluso se diseñaron instrumentos a partir de cristales resonantes encontrados en las cuevas. Esto trajo como resultado el nacimiento de una nueva música mezcla de tecnología, naturaleza y sentimiento humano.

The sound in the silence had not only been a physical discovery, it also became the great connection between humanity and its new home.

El sondo en el silencio no había sido solo un descubrimiento físico, también se convirtió en la gran conexión entre humanidad y su nuevo hogar.

Había pasado un buen tiempo y el proceso de adaptación parecía que iba cumpliendo su función. Todos estaban felices porque el aire contaminado no causaba efecto en su salud. Ya contaban con estructuras más sólidas para su protección, aquella gran tormenta eléctrica les había jugado una mala pasada. Y qué decir de los cultivos experimentales, estaban dando sus frutos. Todo parecía que iba por un buen camino. Pero les faltaba algo: explorar lo desconocido.

The colony's first months on the surface were spent in extreme caution. Every expedition that ventured forth was carefully planned and equipped. They had established security protocols and equipped themselves with defensive weapons, as if everything represented a threat. The real challenge wasn't protecting the boundary the colony had established as safe; the challenge was exploring without fear.

Los primeros meses de la colonia en la superficie fueron de máximo cuidado. Cada expedición que se aventuraba estaba cuidadosamente planificada y equipada. Tenían establecidos protocolos de seguridad y contaban con armas defensivas como si todo representara una amenaza. El verdadero desafío no era proteger el límite establecido como seguro por la colonia, el reto era explorar sin miedo.

Rachel assembled a new group of explorers; she needed people with vision and a thirst for discovery. This time, she opened the door to volunteers; anyone interested in contributing to the community was welcome.

Rachel reunió un nuevo grupo de exploradores, necesitaba personas con visión y ansias de descubrimiento. Esta vez dejo que se brindaran voluntarios, toda persona que estuviera interesada en aportar a la comunidad seria bienvenida.

The valley Paul had discovered was their first destination. Now they would undertake a thorough exploration. Fear aside, a new vision showed them everything they had overlooked. They made maps with strategic routes, easy for transportation and communication. The colony was looking to expand. They found rivers and numerous completely unknown animals, but just like the plants, everything needed to be cataloged.

El valle descubierto por Paul fue el primer destino. Ahora si realizaría una exploración exhaustiva. Con el miedo a un lado una nueva visión les mostro todo lo que habían pasado por alto. Realizaron mapas con caminos estratégicos, fáciles para la transportación y la comunicación. La colonia buscaba expandirse. Encontraron ríos, numerosos animales totalmente desconocidos, pero al igual que las plantas todo necesitaba ser catalogado.

Paul, already a teenager, was the embodiment of this new philosophy of exploring without fear. He was always among the first to volunteer for each expedition. Impossible for him to miss a single detail, he observed everything that adults overlooked. Without a doubt, this was the right person with the characteristics Commander Rachel was looking for.

Paul ya adolescente era el representante de esta nueva filosofía de explorar sin miedo. Siempre estaba entre los primeros en ofrecerse para cada expedición. Imposible que se perdiera un detalle, observaba todo lo que los adultos dejaban pasar por alto. Sin dudas esta era la persona indicada con las características que buscaba la comandante Rachel.

This new way of thinking completely changed the colony's dynamic. An air of progress circulated, and everyone wanted to participate in the expeditions to contribute their knowledge, so programs were established so everyone could participate. Even the elderly and children joined in on short trips around the settlement. Everyone, within their means, collected samples or simply offered their joy. Everyone also considered it a great support.

Esta nueva forma de pensar de la colonia cambio por completo su dinámica. Un aire de progreso circulaba y todos deseaban participar de las expediciones para aportar su conocimiento por lo que se establecieron programas y todos pudieran participar. Incluso hasta los ancianos y los niños se unieron en los viajes cortos alrededor del asentamiento. Cada uno dentro de sus posibilidades recogía muestras, o simplemente brindaban su alegría. Todos lo consideraban también un gran apoyo.

The explorations yielded much-needed discoveries. In the caves, they found energy stones that could be used to store electricity. This made it possible to create energy distribution systems. Furthermore, they could use hot springs as heat sources on cold nights. The fear that initially limited them gave way to new experiences and innovation.

Las exploraciones trajeron como resultados descubrimientos muy necesarios. En las Cuevas encontraron piedras energéticas con las que se podía almacenar electricidad. Esto posibilitó crear sistemas de distribución de energía. Por otra parte, manantiales de aguas termales los podían utilizar como fuentes de calor en las noches frías. El miedo que en un inicio los limitaba se convirtió en nuevas experiencias e innovación.

The colony was never reckless; Rachel constantly reminded them to be cautious. One day, an expedition was attacked by a large predator. The beast attacked them as if they were intruders in its home, which was no less true. The explorers managed to scare it off with their weapons, but it showed them that the planet also had its dangers.

La colonia nunca fue imprudente, Rachel se los recordaba constantemente que debían ser cautelosos. Un día una expedición fue atacada por un depredador de gran tamaño. La bestia los atacó como si hubiera intrusos en su casa, lo cual no es menos cierto. Los exploradores lograron ahuyentarlo con sus armas, pero les demostró que el planeta también tenía sus peligros.

From then on, the concept of "exploring without fear" became part of the colony's identity. Children learned it in school, artists sang it, and it was even mentioned in colonial speeches. They no longer hid as refugees from the universe; now they were settlers who embraced it.

Desde entonces el concepto de “explorar sin miedo” se convirtió en parte de la identidad de la colonia. Lo aprendían los más pequeños en las escuelas, lo cantaban los artistas y hasta se pronunciaba en los discursos de la colonia. Ya no se ocultaban como refugiados del universo, ahora eran colonos que lo abrazaban.

Their thirst for exploration and discovery never waned. After five years on the planet, they organized what they would call "The Great Expedition." It would be their largest expedition of all that time. The journey sought to explore places beyond the mountains visible from the colony. Women, children, men—in short, everyone—were involved. They not only carried technology but also part of the culture they had already created.

Su sed de exploración y descubrimiento nunca termino. Al cabo de cinco años de su estancia en el Planeta organizaron la que llamarían “La Gran Expedición”. Seria la mayor que realizarían en todo ese tiempo. El viaje buscaría conocer lugares más allá de las montañas visibles desde la colonia. Se integraron mujeres, niños, hombres en fin todos. No solo llevaban tecnología si no que llevaba parte de la cultura que ya habían creado.

Exploring without fear had given them back meaning to life.

Explorar sin miedo les había devuelto el sentido a la vida.

El aterrizaje de las primeras cápsulas se había concretado, pero esto solo significaba un paso más en esta aventura. Los colonos necesitaban lideres con visión que no le tuvieran miedo a lo desconocido. Este nuevo mundo les proporcionaba mucha esperanza, pero para adaptarse a la nueva realidad necesitaban disciplina y unidad. Había llegado el momento de conducir el camino.

Overall you could say that the planet was beautiful, but with the last memory they had of the earth anyone would look great. There were rare metallic plants that dazzled the eyes with the reflection of the sun and large mountains surrounded by stormy clouds. Not everything was rosy. The territory also seemed hostile and the air they breathed made the explorers dizzy. It had unknown compounds to which the human organism was not adapted. Engineers and doctors designed masks that could filter the oxygen.

En general se podría decir que el planeta era hermoso, pero con el ultimo recuerdo que tenían de la tierra cualquiera se vería genial. Había raras plantas metálicas que deslumbraban los ojos con el reflejo del sol y montañas de gran tamaño rodeadas de nubes tormentosas. No todo era color de rosa. El territorio también parecía hostil y el aire que respiraban provocaba mareos a los exploradores. Tenía compuestos desconocidos los cuales el organismo humano no estaba adaptado. Ingenieros y médicos diseñaron mascaras que podían filtrar el oxígeno.

The settlements were carefully planned. Commander Rachel together with a council made up of civilian representatives, scientists and engineers decided to build the colony near a river where there was apparently stable ground. It was time to improvise. For the construction of the structures were used prefabricated panels brought from the ships and materials from the planet itself such as solid stones, minerals never seen before and vegetable fibers that were quite resistant.

Los asentamientos fueron cuidadosamente planeados. La comandante Rachel junto a un consejo formado por representantes civiles, científicos e ingenieros decidieron construir la colonia cerca de un rio donde había aparentemente un terreno estable. Fue momento de improvisar. Para la construcción de las estructuras fueron utilizados paneles prefabricados traídos de las naves y materiales del propio planeta como piedras bien sólidas, de unos minerales nunca vistos y fibras vegetales que eran bastante resistentes.

Not all the settlers were happy with the settlement in that place, the doubt and uncertainty was a cause for disputes and comments among them. Rachel realized that she needed to set an example.
-Do they want proof that this can be our home?
She said in front of the crowd gathered there. She took off her filtration mask and everyone was shocked and surprised. The situation became tense and they were waiting to see what would happen to their commander.
-Just a little dizzy.
Rachel said as she coughed. It was just a matter of adjustment and soon more colonists did the same.

No todos los colonos estaban conformes con el asentamiento en ese lugar, la duda y la incertidumbre era motivos de disputas y comentarios entre ellos. Rachel se dio cuenta que necesitaba dar el ejemplo.
-¿Quieren una prueba que este puede ser nuestro hogar?
Dijo frente a la multitud que allí se reunía. Se quito la máscara de filtración y todos se quedaron sorprendidos e impactados. La situación se puso tensa y estaban a la expectativa de que sucedería con su comandante.
-Solo un poco de mareo.
Decía Rachel mientras tosía. Era solo cuestión de adaptación y pronto mas colonos hicieron lo mismo.

“Leading the way” was not easy when you have to keep the unity and life expectancy of humanity alive. Rachel organized expeditions and made mixed groups. She linked engineers with soldiers, farmers with teachers, lawyers with doctors, all with the idea that they would share knowledge and be part of the creation of the new humanity. Everyone was indispensable and she did not want to see anyone excluded.

“Conducir el camino” no era nada fácil cuando tienes que mantener viva la unidad y la esperanza de vida de la humanidad. Rachel organizo expediciones e hizo grupos mixtos. Vinculó ingenieros con soldados, agricultores con maestros, abogados con médicos todo con la idea de que compartieran conocimientos y formaran parte de la creación de la nueva humanidad. Todos eran imprescindibles no quería ver a nadie excluido.

On one occasion the young explorer Paul lost the route the group was taking on one of the expeditions. Exactly the same curious Paul who always needed explanations. It turns out that in his wandering and wandering he had found a hidden valley between mountains. It was a very important finding, there were trees there which bore fruit and scientists determined that they were edible. The colony no longer depended on the limited resources provided by the ship. What a joy they had! Paul was celebrated as a symbol of the future.
-“Young people show the way”
Rachel said as she walked around the colony.

En una ocasión el joven explorador Paul perdió la ruta que llevaba el grupo en una de las expediciones. Exactamente, el mismo Paul curioso que siempre necesitaba explicaciones. Resulta ser que en su andar y andar había encontrado un valle oculto entre montañas. Fue un hallazgo importantísimo, allí se encontraban arboles los cuales brindaban frutos y los científicos determinaron que eran comestibles. La colonia ya no dependía de los limitados recursos que les proveía la nave. ¡Que alegría tenían! Paul fue celebrado como símbolo de futuro.
-“Los jóvenes muestran el camino”
Decía Rachel mientras se paseaba por la colonia.

As a test of endurance a thunderstorm shook them one day unexpectedly. It was time to show endurance and unity. Lightning struck one after another, it seemed like daylight the way they illuminated the sky. The colony was one step away from destruction and many structures caught fire, but with their organization and teamwork they were able to evacuate the injured. The human quality was present, it was the fundamental factor for their recovery. Now they would rise stronger than ever.
What did the storm mean to them? We can...

Como una prueba de resistencia una tormenta eléctrica los sacudió un día de imprevisto. Era momento de mostrar resistencia y unidad. Los rayos caían uno tras otro, parecía de día la manera en que iluminaban el cielo. La colonia estuvo a un paso de la destrucción y muchas estructuras se incendiaron, pero con su organización y trabajo en equipo pudieron evacuar a los heridos. La calidad humana estuvo presente, fue el factor fundamental para su recuperación. Ahora se levantarían más fuertes que nunca.
¿Qué significó para ellos la tormenta? Un: Si podemos…

Step by step the colony began to transform into a society. The first schools, factories and meeting or recreation places were established. They started with simple but basic things. The new humanity was being built.

Paso a paso la colonia comenzó a transformarse en una sociedad. Se establecieron las primeras escuelas, fábricas y lugares de reunión o recreación. Comenzaron con cosas simples pero básicas. La nueva humanidad se estaba construyendo.

We are the ones who lead the way to a new home
Rachel said very enthusiastically as everyone applauded.

-Somos los que conducimos el camino hacia un nuevo hogar
Decía Rachel muy entusiasmada mientras todos aplaudían.

Una promesa brillaba en la lejanía, era el nuevo sistema. Todos los colonos observaban desde la sala de mando con emoción y un poco de miedo. El sol era diferente, envuelto como en una manta dorada. Estaba rodeado de varios mundos todavía desconocidos que giraban alrededor de él. La humanidad estaba teniendo la primera señal de que no estarían condenados a deambular eternamente.

They already had hope, they marked the most promising planet on their map, but it was still as distant as a star. The days of preparation began. Beithos kept analyzing the atmospheric composition of the planets and possible approach routes. Both doubts and emotions began to grow among the colonists. Would it be habitable?

Ya tenían una esperanza, fijaron en su mapa el planeta más prometedor, pero seguía estando lejos como una estrella. Los días de preparación comenzaron. Beithos no dejaba de analizar la composición atmosférica de los planetas y posibles rutas de aproximación. Tanto las dudas como las emociones comenzar a crecer en los colonos. ¿Sería habitable?

Meanwhile, new generations continued to form in the corridors of the ships. Many children no longer remembered Earth, and others had been born outside of it. For them, space was not a bad place; it had been their home for most of their lives. Paul was one of them, arguably the most curious. On one occasion, he asked his mother:
-“What is it about the stars that makes them seem so close, yet we can never touch them?”
She replied sadly,
-“Because, like dreams, they seem within reach, but you have to fight to get to them...”
Her words, as if carved in stone, remained in Paul's mind.

Mientras tanto en los pasillos de las naves se seguían formando las nuevas generaciones. Muchos niños ya ni recordaban la tierra y otros habían nacido fuera de ella. Para ellos el espacio no era un lugar malo, ese había sido su hogar de casi toda la vida. Paul era uno de ellos, se podía decir que el mas curioso. En una ocasión le preguntó a su mama:
-¿Qué tienen las estrellas que nos parecen tan cerca pero nunca podemos tocarlas?
Ella le respondió tristemente
-Porque al igual que los sueños parecen estar al alcance, pero hay que luchar para llegar a ellos...
Sus palabras como esculpidas en piedra quedaron en la mente de Paul.

During weeks of travel, the navigators detected unexpected signals: bursts of radiation coming from the system. Was it a warning? Others interpreted it as a challenge. Commander Rachel gathered the community leaders to hold a debate that would last for hours. The continuation of the journey was in dispute.

Los navegantes, durante semanas de travesía detectaron señales que no esperaban: radiación proveniente del sistema a modo de ráfagas. ¿Será una advertencia? Otros lo interpretaron como un desafío. La comandante Rachel reunió a los lideres comunitarios para establecer un debate que dudaría horas. La continuidad del viaje estaba en disputa.

-Our history has always been a journey into the unknown. The land no longer exists, and we need another one for ourselves, our children, and our children's children...
With that decision, Rachel sealed the course of the journey. There would be no more discussion.

-Nuestra Historia siempre ha sido un viaje a lo desconocido, ya la tierra no existe y necesitamos otra para nosotros, nuestros hijos y los hijos de sus hijos…
Con esa decisión Rachel dejo el rumbo del viaje sellado. No se hablaría mas.

The approach to this promising planet was quite a spectacle. The view from space resembled a mirror reflecting their lost home. Clouds covered entire continents, and immense oceans reflected the light of the new sun. The great pain suffered by the colonists seemed to fade away amid cries of excitement, warm embraces, and tears of joy.

Fue todo un espectáculo la aproximación a ese planeta tan prometedor. La vista desde el espacio parecía un espejo que reflejaba el antiguo hogar perdido. Las nubes cubrían continentes enteros, y océanos inmensos reflejaban la luz del nuevo sol. El gran dolor que padecían los colonos parecía desvanecerse entre gritos de emoción, fuertes abrazos y lagrimas de alegría.

A return to reality reminded them that hope is not easy. The atmosphere contained nitrogen and oxygen, compounds that the first probes sent there were able to reveal. But that was not all; traces of other unknown toxic compounds also gave them pause. They found a habitable world, but one with risks.

Un regreso a la realidad les hizo recordar que la esperanza no es sencilla. La atmosfera contenía nitrógeno y oxígeno, compuestos que pudieron revelarles las primeras sondas enviadas. A cluster of nebulae was the experience of the first interstellar crossing. The ships had to stop without thinking twice. Everyone fell silent, perplexed by the sight of gases of different colors moving like a curtain of fire. They had never witnessed anything so incredible and terrifying at the same time. It looked like a newly born universe.

Some conflicts began to arise in those early days. The main disagreement was whether to continue toward more promising systems or to stop right there and search for planets within the nebula. Uncertainty was running high, with everyone believing they were right, weakening the unity among the colonists.

One night, during a meeting, the oldest of the settlers, named Rodney, said in a trembling voice:
“Remember that there were those on Earth who crossed oceans in wooden ships. It is true that many did not arrive, but those who did disembark founded new nations. I proclaim this our new sea, so we must cross it, even if we do not know what awaits us on the other side.”

Básicamente consiste en utilizar frases o palabras similares o iguales entre dos o mas canciones. En algunos casos también se emplean sonidos. Entre los objetivos esta crear expectativa, emoción y sorpresa en la pista de baile. Se puede decir que el número de técnicas es prácticamente infinito es solo dejarse llevar por la imaginación. Also at times I have run out of resources, machines, things and well I have spent some time without anything until I have to go back to it again because of problems, money situations and so on. but aha. Those are more or less the obstacles I have.

Rahi: No, but the good thing about it is that you already have a good track record because you started early. That gives you a good position, to be a DJ the constant practice is super important, as they say out there you already have a good flight time. One takes knowledge and experiences from here and there and forms one's own little book. And the other thing is the resources that are not very affordable to say. But I see that none of this has stopped you. What would you say to people who would like to but are afraid?

Liz: Let's see, no risk, no gain, that's one. But I would tell them that if they really like it, they should look for something that I don't know what to try, but at least at the very least they should keep listening to music, because in the end, there are very few people who like to be a genre and be DJs, as such. That they get right into it, that they try, that they take risks, that they dream and don't stop.

Rahi: I know that many people will identify with your words and I see you with good vibes and energy, so could you tell me what plans or goals you would like to achieve as a DJ.

Liz: Well, I would like to play in Tomorrowland, meet my gods, my idols, Alan Walker, David Guetta, Marshmello. I would like people to like what I do, the songs I would compose, to laugh, feel excitement and travel the world. I would love that as a DJ as well.

Today I brought you another instrumental and as always I link it to my experiences which are my main source of inspiration. I didn't make it with many musical elements but I hope you like the idea.

Buenas tardes comunidad de Music. Como es habitual les traigo otra publicación referente al arte del DJ. Me gustaría muchísimo que otros DJ o artistas se unieran a esta iniciativa. En esta ocasión me gustaría hablarles del Mashup. Para ejemplo les dejo este pequeño mashup que hice utilizando las canciones “Temperature” y “S&M” de Sean Paul y Rihanna respectivamente.

I can tell you that conceptually the Mashup is a word that comes from a musical term in English whose meaning is the creation of a new song from the mixture or pieces of other songs. Generally it consists of mixing a rhythmic base (beat) of a song with a rap of an a cappella version of a song, usually a hip hop song.

Les puedo decir que conceptualmente el Mashup es una palabra que viene de un término musical en inglés cuyo significado es la creación de una nueva canción a partir de la mezcla o pedazos de otras canciones. Generalmente consiste en la mezcla de una base rítmica (beat) de una canción con un rap de una versión a capella de un tema comúnmente de hip hop.

Nowadays this method is widely used by many music producers and DJs to enrich the versions of a song, mix them with others and create a completely new track leaving their creativity free. In live performances they are an extra plus for DJs because they create never heard versions that are the result of their improvisation.

En la actualidad este método es muy utilizado por muchos productores musicales y DJs para enriquecer las versiones de una canción, mezclarlos con otros y crear una pista completamente nueva dejando libre su creatividad. En las actuaciones en vivo son un plus extra para los DJ porque crean versiones nunca escuchadas que son fruto de su improvisación.
