As usual, you know how I roll... Instead of publishing the video and writing a description in 2-3 sentences, I'm going to do the video and write a full-length post around it... And as usual, I will cover two topics in one post... Why? Well, I have no idea what I'm doing... lol... Instead of reusing a video, I'm compressing multiple posts in one... 😂

Regarding the video, I was talking about the current crypto market state, and reflect about some macro stuff... Somehow, a lot of things that are happening look a bit strange and fake, so I shared my thoughts on that... Check it out!

And the second thing that I became aware of, well after recording this video, is something a lot more personal... As much as I would like to ignore and suppress, I miss the place where I lived before... Oh, I forgot to mention that I recorded the video in my walk around the same orange groves that you may remember from my videos from the past... It's not just oranges...

I wanted to compare what that "secret sauce" is in that area that I miss the most. Yes, the sea is near, the beach, and all that comes with that... In the area where I live currently, we have a few gardens with oranges and lemons, but most trees around are almonds and olives, which are also nice... But, I think that's not the main issue...

Maybe it's about people? Being an introvert, I suppose you know the answer to that... lol... Most friends that I have are far away from me, and I communicate with them over the Internet... But, it could be people... Let me explain...

Coming from a country that doesn't respect natural resources enough, I clearly remember my father's words when they visited Spain for the first time... Despite having a scarcity of water and fertile land, the Spaniards have made the most of it! They build huge artificial lakes to accumulate water during rainy years, as sometimes, rains don't fall for years! Olives, almonds, or oranges are growing almost out of the rock! The soil is too hard and full of iron, so I can't understand how anything can grow at all!

Right there is hiding the title resolution... It's not about oranges... It's not that EVERY PART of Spain is like the one where I lived for 13 years! The part where you will see orange groves in an infinite row, garden by garden, well-maintained, despite the low orange prices... Okay, there are 1 in 10, or 1 in 20 fields that are abandoned, or for sale, but the rest are like the one on the thumbnail photo...

On the other side, the place where I currently live is almost the complete opposite... 1-2 in 10 are "cultivated" gardens, while the rest are abandoned, destroyed, or just turned into waste disposal... Maybe it's not as bad as it sometimes looks when I see some other places around the world where people don't care about their surroundings, polluting their own gardens, and their own homes...

And exactly that pisses me off a lot! How can we be so disrespectful toward nature? How can we pollute and abandon what nature gave us for FREE! Many times, we have no idea how RICH we are, and how a lot we have around us... We are always amazed how OTHERS are RICHER, how the other place is PRETTIER and BETTER... Maybe I'm doing the same today?

Probably the most important lesson that I learned is that the main difference is made in the BEAR markets! Instead of hiding under the rock, waiting for the tokens to shoot up again, these moments are crucial to be around, to "listen" to the markets, to follow developments... It's much easier to do all that because there is almost NO NOISE which is unsupportable during the bull markets, when everyone is shilling their tokens, and everyone is going to the Moon...

Those projects and apps that are being developed during the bear, who are tightening up their tokenomics, who work on useful tools for their communities, are those who WILL STAY... If you are here when it's the hardest, you will probably not escape when it's time to ripen the fruits...

On the other side, it's not that only WE ARE CHANGED and learned things through these years, but the CRYPTO SPACE itself has changed a lot! It's not the same investing in tokens NOW, or 10 years ago... There are literally thousands of tokens out there, hundreds of blockchains, and who knows how many crypto-related apps, compared to maybe a dozen a decade ago!

We have experimented a lot, certain ideas survived, some ideas slowly died, but the space priorities and approach to crypto changed... You can't buy ANY token and expect it will go to the moon in the next bull... You have to pay attention to more things, and you have to research it much better... Luckily, it's not that hard to check out a few VERY IMPORTANT things even before thinking of buying some token...

Speaking of keys, that's actually the main topic of my "experimental" (video) shorts I have created... Bad times aren't only for ordinary people like you and me; the scammers and hackers are also having a hard time... They are desperate to find new victims and to take your hard-earned money!

Unfortunately, my friend @hallman was one of the victims just recently... He described what happened to him in this post, so check it out if you want to know the "practices" which nowadays scammers are using to get you!

Also, it's not a bad thing to try to stick to a few simple "rules" regarding managing crypto and keep yourself safe on the Internet...

• Always VERIFY things BEFORE sending/signing any transaction.
• Protect your private keys and seed phrase, and DON'T SEND them over the Internet ever! No legitimate support agent will ask you to send them your keys! NEVER!
• If someone promises you “Guaranteed Profits”, 100%, it's a scam! There is nothing guaranteed in crypto, or in LIFE! Sometimes, you will hear that from your friends too, but they aren't aware of that either...

Red flags in chats with impersonators:

• Urgency - We have to do this in 5-10 min... so hurry up
• Pressure to move the conversation on other chat/platform
• Need to do it through a "secure website", different from what you are using
• Strange terms... Sometimes, impersonators don't have enough knowledge about the platform or wallet
• Trying to confuse you, etc.

Recently, I was quiet on HIVE, but I did follow the dramas here, the broader cryptocurrency markets, and also macroeconomic news. Two things got my attention... One of them is the "fear and greed" index for crypto, which has been under 30 for almost a full month, and hovering around (and under) last week or two... Usually, that's the sign of bottoming, but the problem is that the indicator can stay low for several weeks, and even months... On the other side, knowing that crypto prices are going down, it's understandable to have the fear sentiment!

We have the same indicator measured for stocks, which is moving around similar numbers... If stocks were in the same position as crypto, that would be normal, but they aren't! NVIDIA was printing ATH numbers for weeks, other big companies are also in green, but it looks like investors aren't buying it! Something smells fishy...

The second thing that was rather a reminder than news, is the fact that many altcoins have already dumped over 80-90% from their ATH... Unfortunately, among them is our HIVE, too...
Yesterday, I was watching a YouTube video where the author was talking about his investing strategies and what triggers him in the charts to push the BUY button... Seeing a coin chart going down doesn't have to mean it will die, especially if there is development despite the "bad" price action... You and I may have doubts about crypto, but consider those who are heavily involved, such as developers; they likely have their doubts too... Moving forward and building in the bear isn't easy, and those who do are extremely dedicated people... If they can build in the bear, they will build in the bull too!

It sounds corny, but it's worth being reminded that the wealth is built in hard times, when nobody is looking, when everyone is panic selling... Of course, not all coins will survive, so pay attention to details, research coins and teams behind them... If they are building and buzzing these days, that's a good sign!

Not just on HIVE, but also from other social media, too! People who inspire us to do better, people who make us think, or maybe make us laugh, or teach us something new... People who open our minds toward different views, to look outside the box...

• To "open" discussion, I share my favorite topics/niches that I like to consume... I didn't mention anyone specifically (except @coldbeetrootsoup guys), but people I follow are those I like to read/watch... Facebook to find some entertaining content (funny, humor), like for example, Greipur, the Icelandic guy I found recently... On the other side, I use YouTube to check out news around crypto, following channels like InvestAnswers, CTO Larsson, Taiki Maeda, Krypto Cove...

• First in voice was @godfish, who said that, outside HIVE, he mostly follows Czech Reddit forums for various, different topics... On HIVE, he likes to check posts about HIVE, and to dive into discussions in the comment section, but also, he takes the initiative to explain HIVE in Czech, welcoming newbies, and re-checking them after some time... He mentioned a few of his favorite HIVE authors, including @honeydue, @duskobgd, @genesisledger, and @nanixxx!

• @palomap3 was the next to share in voice... She enjoys photography topics and posts, following through communities... Some of her favorite photography authors are @jlinaresp, @nanixxx, and for other types of content, creators as @mipiano, @avdesing, @enraizar, and @ninaeatshere. She uses Twitter, but doesn't post...

• @txracer shared a few names in the comments section of the announcement post for this show, but as he came to the show, he explained the reason behind it... On HIVE, he likes content by @ecoinstant, @thecrazygm, @taskmaster4450, @coldbeetrootsoup, @cherokee4life, @artofkylin... Outside HIVE, he follows videos by Sreetips, OmegaGeek64, Mt.Baker Mining, and Anthony Thomas on YouTube... Also, he consumes content about ecology following Shaun Overton, Andrew Millison, and Dr. Elaine Ingham...

• Not everyone was able to share their favorites in voice, and that's why we have a text channel that we follow during the show... In there, @duskobgd shared his favorites, @triplug and @grindle... @les90 shared her favorites, @ifarmgirl, @melinda010100, sometimes ph... Thanks! :)

• @felixxx shared in voice that he likes to watch videos by Richard Perkins on YouTube, as he has a different approach than other creators... From HIVE, he mentioned @florian-glechner, and later in the show, added SebastianLague YT channel as one of his favorites...

EDIT: This video was recorded a week ago, and as of 3Speak issues, after multiple attempts, it's been published just now... So maybe, a few things aren't relevant anymore, but most are!

So, what's happened in the last months, and even more importantly, what will happen in the next few months? That was the main topic of this short walk and talk video... I looked back on our favorite chain and noticed some usual "human" patterns during this sideways crypto chopping, where people get bored and start pointing fingers... Who to blame for the price dump, and such...

One of the things that I didn't manage to arrange is the trip to the HiveFest... 😔 That's one of the biggest disappointments, as I really wanted to go, especially because of the location... I have never been to Asia, but I know a few Hivians from there that I wanted to meet IRL! I suppose we will have to re-arrange our meetup for some other date... For those who will make it to the HiveFest, I wish you all the best, and I know you will have a lot of fun! I was on two, and there were blasts!

On the other side, I do plan to go to some other meetups that will happen before the end of the year... I will probably not reach my yearly goal of 5 Hive meetups, but I will try to get close to that number; that's for sure! If there will be no (pleasant) surprises (unexpected meetups this month), my next HIVE meetup should be in Krakow, Poland, on 14-16th. November is already well-known, The Kingdom! Also, there is a chance of another meetup in that part of Europe, more exactly, Prague, 2-3 days before Poland! Stay tuned for that!

I don't want to tell you everything in text, but mark another day for a possible meetup, Malaga, Spain, December 4-6th...

In the show, we were talking about our experiences with hacks, malware, viruses, and other nasty things... Every single bad experience was a valuable lesson for the future, and it makes us more "scam-proof." It was interesting to hear others and their past encounters with hacks and viruses, which showed that it can happen to anyone... You can be an experienced IT user, but you can still fall into a trap of a scammer... That's why it's important to share, and to learn about new techniques that have been used nowadays... Bad actors are improving too, and those "hack" practices from the past aren't effective anymore, but some more sophisticated ones have been developed...

Let me share a few titbits about the topics and discussions that we have covered in this show... Of course, I would strongly suggest you scroll down and play the complete show recording...

• At the beginning, I shared my recent events about my hosting server being hacked... How the hack happened, who got affected, and shared a few tips on how to avoid being hacked if you run your own website...

• That wasn't the only example when I got hacked, and I have shared the story that happened 20 years ago, while I was using Windows as my operating system... Despite having a firewall and antivirus software, I got hacked! What was the damage? I explained in the show...

• @stresskiller was the first one to share his experience with hacks... He got his website hacked in 2002, when in those days the "deface" was the most popular type of hack... A hacker would change your website's look and show a completely different page, usually with a scam link to some other place...

• Somewhere around the same time (or maybe a bit later), @jza was also active in the IT world... As Windows had many security issues, with a lot of users being infected by worms, viruses, and a slow system in general, he was one of the Linux ambassadors in those days, promoting a better solution... Btw. I was one of those who changed from Windows to Linux after my personal machine got hacked!

• As we were in the "good old days", @felixx reminded us about how it was done (and still is) in the past... When you have a Windows computer for more than a few months, it will be full of worms and viruses... In those days, you would pull out your "system image" CD from the drawer, and restore your original OS installation with your pre-installed software... Clean start!

• @felixxx mentioned different ways how hackers work nowadays... It's more of a social engineering, besides the technical aspect of it...

• @thekittygirl bounced us back to HIVE, writing in the chat about storing keys on Google Drive, or in your email messages... Those ARE NOT good practices and you should AVOID doing that!

• @jza mentioned the Telegram scams (bouncer bots), which are operating in Discord too... For example, when you see those accounts offering "free support" if you send them DM, or giving away some incredibly valuable AIRDROPs, etc. Stay away from those things! If it's too good to be true, it's probably a scam! One of the very clever scams can be an offer that sounds like this: "We need beta testers and will pay you $1000/week to work for us"... I didn't pay attention to something like that, but @thekittygirl reminded us all!

• Another good tip was to always DOUBLE CHECK THE ADDRESS before sending some funds (or delegations) to another account... You can misspell the username, and your money is gone! Speaking of misspelling, there are tons of scammers on the Internet using names SIMILAR to some popular influencers, trying to scam people...

• @duskobgd wasn't in the show, and he couldn't join us in voice, but he sent a message in the chat during the show with one very important question and a topic!

The topic is interesting, and if I were there, I would raise a question related to the Recovery account, because I've been thinking about it for some time. Maybe someone asks the same thing, so I'll listen to the video 🙂

• Thanks to his suggestion, we spent a nice chunk of time trying to dive deep into the Recovery account procedure, how it works, for what it serves, etc. As it's not something that people are doing often, we were lucky to have @thekittygirl with us in the show, who was doing that for a couple of users! 🙏

• As we were over 1 hour in the show, it was time to wrap it up with a few tips on how to keep your HIVE/HBD safe, or to get a bit more time to recover your account before a hacker can steal your funds... Powering up your HIVE is giving you plenty of time before it gets unstaked and available for transfer... IN the same way, putting your HBD (or HIVE) in SAVINGS will give you at least 3 days to sort out your account keys...

In this show, we were talking about he next BIG Hive gathering that will happen very soon, but not so soon that you can't organize yourself and go! We were talking about the Hive Summit, which will happen from 22nd to 24th August this year, in Aachen, Germany! The founder of this event, @Detlev, was with us in the #HHHLive show to talk more about it, and to facilitate the arrival of Hivians, and new Hivians!

If I understood our guest, Aachen is a city in Germany, on the border with the Netherlands and Belgium, so you can visit 3 countries in a few minutes... (and I think that will happen during the event... 😃) It doesn't have it's airport, but you have plenty of them to pick in the 1-hour range car drive... We talked about that and many other things in the show...

Just a few titbits, before you click on the PLAY button of the recording of the show under these lines...

• As we knew @detlev from the previous guesting, we dive deep from the first moments of the show, where he tried to explain WHY he is doing stuff that he is doing... On HIVE, for HIVE, and...?

• How was the idea of Hive Summit born? Why pick a church for the main event venue?!

• He shared a lot of things about the city of Aachen and its history... Also, the easiest way to get there...

• I noticed that a ticket price is sooooo cheap, so I had to ask why that is and how that is possible?

• He also shared parts of the schedule for the event where one of the main things, right from the first day, will be the European premiere of the Freechain movie! A story about our chain and the resistance! 🙂

• We also talked about the speakers... The event will not be ONLY about HIVE, which means that there will be speakers outside too... This is a great opportunity for crosschain collaborations, too... I hope that some ideas will be born during the networking time at the event...

As I mentioned in the announcement post, the point wasn't to solve the issue, as it isn't that simple to do it, but rather to talk about it, make some tweaks in our everyday HIVE interaction, try to help out at places where we have the biggest influence... Retention isn't just a problem of big HIVE whales or Hive witnesses, it's OUR problem, of all of us...

The show was very engaging, and multiple people shared their thoughts in voice, and almost everyone else participated with their input in the chat channel! To be honest, I was so focused on not skipping any comments that I didn't realize how fast time was flying... It was a split second, and we were already over 1 hour! There is no way to write about everything, so I will keep this description short and leave it to you to check out the recording of the show that you can find under... • At the beginning of the show, I read a fantastic comment by @josediccus that he left on the announcement post:

I read a conversation somewhere, someone was trying to suggest some cool features that'll be good for Hive and they were quickly shut down by some users because they were new and hadn't earned the right to suggest anything. It was sad to see. This disparity is often displayed on the chain in some conversations about retention. I hope that someday we can agree more, than we actually disagree on important conversations

That was a good reminder that everyone's opinion counts... There are no more or less worthy opinions, and we should have an open mind for newbie suggestions in the same way as for some OG views...

• Also, I shared my view regarding onboarding and retention as they are connected... How is someone onboarded, with a promise of what, what are their expectations, etc? When we know that information, we know how to guide new users to become successful Hivians and to enjoy their stay... The retention that we were talking about in the show was connected with the BLOGGING (Social Media) side of HIVE... Those Hivians who are here for Splinterlands, Rising Star, or some other apps are already guided by those apps, and they take care of the retention... But, on the blogging side, WE ARE THOSE who should take care of each other...

• First in voice was @godfish, who shared his retention views... As we can't be everywhere, we should focus on the place where we are "the strongest", and those are our communities, our "virtual" surroundings... Creating an environment to retain people... Simple things that count a lot, for example, replying to the comments on your posts, creating more engagement and discussion...

• @josediccus shared his views on retention and onboarding... He talked about how Web2 social media also changed over the years... A similar thing happened with HIVE, too, and we aren't in the same place where we were a few years ago! He noticed that HIVE isn't the only one with retention issues, many SM websites have that problem too... Also, other cryptos have that problem too... People are jumping from flower to flower, in search of an "ideal place"... We can do better, and we have room for improvement!

• We had so many great ideas in the chat, and in one moment the interesting question surged... "Why did YOU stay on HIVE?" If we answer that question, maybe we could understand better newbies and their expectations!

• Many participants answered it... @josediccus stayed for the community, @melinda010100 stayed as she got included and involved in Ecency, and others gave their inputs too... What connects us all is the COMMUNITY!

• We got comments that the learning curve on HIVE is a bit complicated and that we need more guides for newbies... Immediately after that was said, the links with tutorials began to pop out in the chat! Check them out and share them with those in need:

If you missed the show (don't miss the next one! 😃), no worries, the recording is ready, and you can scroll down and click on the PLAY button to listen/watch it! We had a special guest on the show that I wanted to bring in over a month ago, but a busy schedule didn't allow it... Luckily, we finally arranged the date and did it! And oh boy, it was worth doing it! We had a great talk about crypto, bots, AI, and plans, and some ideas came from our audience/participants too! How awesome is that!

I would strongly suggest you check out the recording of the show as it was INDEED (pun intended 😃) great and it's worth watching/listening to... As usual, I will share a few titbits about what we were talking about, but don't forget to check out the video!

• At the beginning, we asked @borniet about his first steps in crypto and our favorite chain... It was nice to hear that he was/is involved in other cryptos too, but also, we heard more about his hobbies like photography, and especially drone photography...

• He also shared that he is running a Hive-Engine witness, so if you are having some WORKERBEE tokens staked, don't forget to support him here!

• As his T-shirt says, he is a "Botlord", so we had a nice chat about his involvement in tipping bots on HIVE... How he got into them, why, and what's next...

• Of course, we had to make him a bit uncomfortable and had to ask about the "elephant in the room", and the "bot comments" that were an issue in the past... What was the solution, and how to continue without "spamming" the comment section...

• Another unpredictable question was about his favorite minion, pardon bot... 🙂 As he has a handful of them, it wasn't an easy answer...

• @davideownzall had a question in the announcement post for this show, so I forwarded that to Borniet... It was about the latest changes on Hive-Engine and if they will "break" the bots... It looks like they are safe for a while, and if there is be need to adapt, there will be solutions...

In the second part of the show, the stage was open for others to ask questions and get involved in the discussion...

• @godfish had an interesting question about the "thing" that made Borniet stay at the chain... As we all know, user retention is one of our big problems, and we would like to "decode" why some of us stayed, while many left... If we could "crack the code", we could do better...

• Naturally, the discussion moved in the direction of how bots could help with retention, helping out with recognizing (someone said AI? 🙂) the type of content that newbies are creating, suggesting certain communities that would fit them the most... or notifying the moderators of the communities to contact the newbie and help out with the first steps! Brainstorming hangout!!!

• Speaking of first steps, @starkerz did a follow-up with what his team is working on... The initiative of reputable Hivians taking photos with newbies, and posting on HIVE is such a great thing... The following idea was to have a Proof-Of-Human badge (@jza's comment from the chat!) 🙂

• We had interaction from the chat channel too, with questions by @seckorama and @txracer... Some more about plans, others more technical...

• The perfect wrap-up was a question about the next tasks to do, and hearing that the idea from THIS SHOW is on the top of the list is so satisfying! Thanks, everyone, from the audience to contributing to the show! You add a lot of value to it!

The point of doing a show about the "past event" was to sort out the impressions, emotions, feelings, but also to inspire others to do similar meetups in their area, and to transmit at least part of the energy that was "created" at the event! The energy is still here, and we tried to transmit it to others, to continue these community gatherings...

This is not my #HCDGraz recap post... That one is cooking and I hope it will be out in the next days/weeks... I need time to do it as I don't want to miss the slightest parts... 😃

To share impressions from the event, I invited #HCDGraz participants to join the show... I'm grateful that we had a couple of them in the show, and you can hear them talking in the show if you check out the recording under! To not spoil the video, I will share just a few titbits here in the description, but I would suggest you check out the video!

• At the beginning of the show, I shared my impressions about the event, and some of my views about the visibility and bonds on HIVE...

• @godfish was first on the mic sharing his impressions about the event... He shared some of the activities that we had, but also reflected on the onboarding and how it is easier to do them in these kinds of events...

• @seckorama was second to share his views... This was his second presentation that he did for Ecency, and he compared this event with last year's HiveFest... Also, he didn't forget to send huge thanks to @tibfox and @reiseamateur for organizing the event!

• @livinguktaiwan was also one of the speakers at the #HCDGraz, presenting the @apis.hive project, and she shared her views in the #HHHLive show too! She also mentioned the dedication of some of the Hivians who attended the event, coming from different parts of the world, some travelling for over 12 hours just to get there! She also compared this meetup with some others, acknowledging how smaller meetups are more personal, and it's easier to engage with people...

• After that, I shared the event's agenda, day by day... What have we done, how fun it was, and some anecdotes from the event... In the meantime, people were sharing photos from the event, not just presentations, but also from our picnics, walks, etc. So, don't forget to follow the VIDEO at that point, as some funny photos were shared... 😃 Speaking of presentations, you can check them out at this link!

• When we covered all the embarrassing photos from the event 😂, we moved to discussing the upcoming #HiveFest10, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, this October... HiveFest was announced live at the #HCDGraz event, and immediately after it, everyone was checking flights and their schedules... 🙂 In the show, @godfish shared some of his findings about flights from Europe (Prague in his case), and I shared some of mine... @livinguktaiwan gave some logistic information about the connections between Singapore and Kuala Lumpur, and we have a luggage talks too... 😃 It looks like some Hivians are already packed for HiveFest!! 😃

So here we are, a bit more than 24 hours after recording this video, in a completely different country, but still full of impressions and emotions of the #HCDGraz! This year's @Buzzparty event didn't disappoint, and it was even better than the last one! More cool people attended, the schedule was a bit more "relaxed", and I didn't have any presentation, so I didn't stress at all... That was a perfect state to help other "presenters" be more relaxed, and in the end, they did a great job!

Many people ask what the difference is between this event and, for example, HiveFest? Except for the fact that it had a limited number of participants, #BuzzParty usually gathers the "middle class" of HIVE... Many presentations were led by community (project) members and not "head/lead developers"... It was like community presenting tools for the community! And to be honest, these guys did a great job! Not just by presenting stuff that they use and work on, but also in INSPIRING others to join, to help out... That's why I put the title: "How Can We Contribute?", as that was the question that was asked many times during the event!

A lot of networking, sharing ideas, promoting HIVE by leaving stickers around the city, cleaning up the part which brought a lot of curious looks toward us... Many positive comments, some "Thanks for cleaning" from the visitors passing by... All in all, we spread a lot of good vibes all around Graz!

There was a tough audience and not many felt comfortable enough to jump on the microphone during the show, but in the end, I wasn't left alone... On the other side, it was busy in the chat channel that we were following, so in the end, we exchanged much useful information, and as usual, learned something new!

In the beginning, I shared my story about content creation and consumption... Shared some experiences from the past when I realized the importance of comments, engagement, and content consumption as they are closely connected... I would say that they are our retention warriors! Without engagement on the social network, there is no meaning to it at all!

To do so, it's important to create content that you like, know, and are passionate about, as then, you can give the most value, which brings the most audience, and consumption! When you do that, the comments will come, but it's important to do the same, go out and support others, and reply to comments on your posts! Recent initiatives like CommentRewarder or TopComment are great additions to HIVE as they incentivize people to engage more!

It was busy in chat, as people were sharing their interests on HIVE... @mypathtofire shared that he likes to consume Splinterlands, Bitcoin, crypto content, arts, etc, while @friendlymoose came for photography, but found some other content and communities too!

@solominer likes gardening and homesteading stuff, as those posts give him ideas he can implement in his garden! @paloma consumes writing content, but topics depend on her mood, time, and energy... Reflections, travel posts, photography, handcrafts... and drama... 😃 Who doesn't like a juicy drama? 😂 @melinda010100 shared that through curation for Ecency, she discovers diversified topics and new people!

@friendlymoose mentioned the problem with content discovery and the need for better filters for HIVE content! It was great to see @solominer sharing an existing tool for exactly that! I think that nobody from the participants knew about it, so it was super useful information! You can check it out at this link: https://hive-hound.the-hive-mobile.app/

During the show, I did 2 small POLLS about the content consumption on HIVE... The first question was to pick one of two options to the question: "Do you consume LONG or SHORT form content?" And the second was about the type of content, "Text, videos, photos, or audio." I have to admit that I was a bit surprised about the results for both polls, but maybe they were expected... Also, our preferences can change through time, and we could change our consuming habits...

I mentioned at the beginning of the post that I wasn't alone on the mic today... Closer to the end of the show, @duskobgd came on the mic, and he shared that he likes to read and consume travel content mostly... He likes posts with many photos, but also about the history of the visited places... He also likes the Hive Collectors community and the Beer community... Despite not being a big beer drinker, he deep-dived and discovered craft beers thanks to HIVE!

As I wrote in the announcement post for the show, meaningful comments are crucial for HIVE! Without them, HIVE would be just a "news portal" without feedback, without the space to "express yourself", especially if you don't create content... Luckily, you can always leave a comment in the comment section, ask the author questions, or engage with other commentators... For a long time, comments were "forgotten" and somehow, not appreciated enough... But, with @TopComment, our special guest on the show has worked on that issue to make a change!

On this HumpDay, we had a great, relaxed talk with @FriendlyMoose, not just about the @TopComment but also about broader topics connected to HIVE, and I would strongly suggest you check the recording of the show! The other participants in the show (our great audience) were inspired during the show, asked many questions, which made it all a lot more interesting! They were those meaningful comments on a post during the show!!! Thanks guys! As usual, I have created short titbits as a description of the video... (they don't cover all that was said, so please check out the recording too!)

• In the beginning, @FriendlyMoose told us more about himself and his crypto journey... Also, he shared how he found HIVE and his first steps on this platform through the eyes of a photographer...

• During the show, it was obvious that many people from the audience did know him from his Hive Photo Contest! Also, @ninaeatshere met him in the Cycling community, which was his creation... Check the community here...

• The idea for @TopComment came from posts that @FriendlyMoose published in the Photography community, where people would comment by giving tips and useful comments... So, why wouldn't we have a tool to reward those great comments? Sometimes, comments are better quality than a post, but on the other side, they aren't upvoted better...

• To find these posts, @FriendlyMoose is using a script that filters out posts with X number of words, as a good, meaningful post needs to have more than 2-3 words... In the next step, curators (currently there are two that help him on the project, @lauramica and @roadstories) are checking manually those comments and rewards those who are genuine, relevant to the post, and of course, valuable to other readers too!

• There is another way of finding good comments that anyone on HIVE can do it... If you spot a good comment, you reply to it, and in the end, you just tag @TopComment... After that, team curators will check it out and see if it is eligible for support!

• Like I said in the beginning, participants in the show were inspired to ask questions during the show... @buttcoins asked about AI bot comments and how to spot them... @cositav mentioned Spanish language and translation of the show in the chat, so I asked a similar question to our guest... Do they reward other languages' comments?

• @manclar had a question about collaboration with @commentrewarder as it is following the @topcomment trail and giving additional upvotes... It's great to notice that we didn't have any tool that would reward comments a few months ago, and now we have at least 2!

• In the second part of the show, others from the audience had a chance to jump on the mic and ask questions... First was @starkerz, who mentioned how we could find genuine people when Hivians spend HBD in some Hive businesses... "proof of person" concept... For example, having a badge that you are a real person! Great idea!

• @achim03 had a question about the financial side of the project... If there is any, or if it is still voluntary work... These things are important as they very often provide longevity to the project... Most HivePower that upvotes comments are coming from delegators, so if you want to help out the project, you can delegate some (please, not all! 🙂) HP to @topcomment!

• We had a few more interesting questions in the chat section... @buttcoins asked where FriendlyMoose sees TopComment in a year, @manclar asked about the support to comments in other languages, and @foxkoit wanted to know which skill our guest would master instantly, if that would be possible... 😃

• At the end of the show, @FriendlyMoose shared the challenge for the listeners of the show... It's not limited to those who were in live, so check the video for more details about that!
