Antes de comenzar mi actuación con el saxofón tenor, quiero compartir algunas breves palabras sobre la pieza que interpretaré, un aguinaldo que todos conocen: 'El burrito sabanero'.
Esta joya de nuestro folclore es obra del Maestro Hugo Blanco Manzo, un compositor visionario que en los años setenta logró capturar la esencia de nuestra Navidad. No solo compuso la melodía, sino que también le dio un ritmo particular y, magistralmente, decidió que las voces infantiles—específicamente la del joven Ricardo Cuenci—inmortalizaran esta canción y ayudaran a que trascendiera muchas fronteras.
El simbolismo de 'El burrito sabanero' es tanto profundo como simple:
Representa la peregrinación de la fe, ese humilde y alegre viaje hacia Belén.
Nos conecta con nuestra identidad territorial; cuando decimos 'sabanero', evocamos el hermoso paisaje de los llanos venezolanos.
Y sobre todo, simboliza la humildad de nuestro pueblo, que se presenta ante el pesebre con lo poco que tiene: un pequeño burro (burrito) y un cuatrico de madera (pequeña guitarra de cuatro cuerdas).
Así que, con gran respeto por nuestra tradición y con el cariño de siempre, @PabloSaxo les ofrece 'El burrito sabanero' esta noche con el saxofón tenor. ¡Disfruten de la música!"

"Good evening, community of the VDC Traditional Music Festival! It is a true pleasure to share with all of you tonight. I am @pablosaxo.
Before beginning my performance with the tenor saxophone, I want to share a few brief words about the piece I will play, an aguinaldo that you all know: 'El burrito sabanero'.
This jewel of our folklore is the work of Maestro Hugo Blanco Manzo, a visionary composer who in the seventies managed to capture the essence of our Christmas. He not only composed the melody but also gave it a particular rhythm and, masterfully, decided that children's voices—specifically that of the young Ricardo Cuenci—would immortalize this song and help it transcend many borders.
The symbolism of 'El burrito sabanero' is both deep and simple:
It represents the pilgrimage of faith, that humble and joyful journey toward Bethlehem.
It connects us with our territorial identity; when we say 'sabanero', we evoke the beautiful landscape of the Venezuelan plains (llanos).
And above all, it symbolizes the humility of our people, who come before the manger with the little they have: a small donkey (burrito) and a wooden cuatrico (small four-stringed guitar).

I am Pablo Aláhe, known here as @pablosaxo, and I am very happy to be present here, in this week 295 of the Open Mic.
Among my work activities, I managed to carve out some time to share with you a necessary interpretation.

On this occasion, I bring you an instrumental version of the unforgettable song Imagine, written by John Lennon in 1971. It is, without a doubt, one of the most emblematic of the 20th century.

Its message remains as relevant as it is necessary: a call for unity, peace, and brotherhood. Lennon invites us to imagine a world without borders, without divisions by religion or possessions, where we can all live together as good brothers.

Over time, Imagine has been interpreted in many social issues as a symbol of reconciliation.

Beyond the ideologies or trends that adopt and use it, its essence touches a truth without a doubt: we need a different world. That is why I believe it fits perfectly with this week's theme: "A different world."

It is enough to look at history —even the sacred scriptures— to see that humanity has lived in eternal conflict, often for power, and those who suffer the most are humble families who do not enjoy those benefits.

That is why, with much affection, I leave you my interpretation on the tenor saxophone. It is my way of contributing a grain of sand to that longing for peace that we all or the vast majority carry within.
I also thank the #3speak platform for providing a space where musicians can share our art and continue to grow.

Soy Pablo Aláhe, conocido por aquí como @pablosaxo, y me contenta mucho estar presente aquí, en esta semana 295 del Open Mic.
Entre mis actividades laborales, logré sacar un espacio para compartir con ustedes una interpretación necesaria.

En esta ocasión, les traigo una versión instrumental de la inolvidable canción Imagine, escrita por John Lennon en 1971. Es, sin duda, una de las más emblemáticas del siglo XX.

Su mensaje sigue siendo tan vigente asi como necesario: un llamado a la unidad, la paz y la fraternidad. Lennon nos lleva a imaginar un mundo sin fronteras, sin divisiones por religiones o posesiones, donde todos podamos convivir como buenos hermanos.

A lo largo del tiempo, Imagine ha sido interpretada en muchos problemas sociales como símbolo de reconciliación.

Más allá de las ideologías o tendencias que la adopten y la usen, su esencia toca una verdad sin lugar a dudas: necesitamos un mundo diferente. Por eso pienso que encaja perfectamente con el tema de esta semana: "Un mundo diferente".

Basta con mirar la historia —incluso las escrituras sagradas— para ver que el ser humano ha vivido en un eterno conflicto, muchas veces por el poder, y quienes más sufren son las familias humildes que no disfrutan de esas bondades.

Por eso, con mucho cariño, les dejo mi interpretación en el saxofón tenor. Es mi forma de aportar un granito de arena a ese anhelo de paz que todos o la gran mayoría llevamos dentro.
Agradezco también a la plataforma #3speak por brindar un espacio donde los músicos podemos compartir nuestro arte y seguir creciendo.

¡Hola amigos! Soy @pablosaxo y quiero compartir con ustedes una pequeña reflexión en esta semana 161, ronda 2 del MusicFestival 🎷✨

Como muchos ya lo saben, el saxofón no es solo mi fiel herramienta de trabajo, es mi fiel compañero de vida. A través de él yo he vivido momentos inolvidables, viajando por rincones de Venezuela y también por Colombia, llevando música, emociones y muchas historias que se han ido sumando a mi camino. Cada nota que toco está cargada de recuerdos, de aprendizajes, de risas, tropiezos, amores y encuentros que han hecho de esta travesía algo profundamente humano.

Hoy les presento este tema muy ameno para mí: “Misty”. Esta joya del jazz fue compuesta por el gran Erroll Garner, un pianista que sabía cómo tocar el alma con sus melodías. “Misty” nació como una pieza instrumental, inspirada por simpática imagen de una mujer vestida de negro que Garner vio en un club de jazz en Nueva York. Esa visión lo llevó a crear una melodía suave, envolvente, que transmite amor, nostalgia y ternura. Más adelante, Johnny Burke añadió la letra, convirtiéndola en una balada que ha sido interpretada por grandes voces como Ella Fitzgerald y Johnny Mathis.

Para mí, tocar “Misty” es sinceramente como contar una historia sin palabras. Es dejar que el saxofón hable por mí, que transmita esa emoción que me mueve cada vez que me subo a un escenario. Espero que esta interpretación les brinde un momento de paz, que les relaje el ánimo y les conecte con algo bonito dentro de ustedes.

Hello friends! I’m @pablosaxo and I’d love to share a small reflection with you during this Week 161, Round 2 of the Muse and Festival 🎷✨

As many of you already know, the saxophone is not just my work tool—it’s my loyal life companion. Through it, I’ve lived unforgettable moments, traveling across corners of Venezuela and also Colombia, bringing music, emotions, and countless stories that have become part of my journey. Every note I play is filled with memories, lessons, laughter, stumbles, love, and encounters that make this path deeply human.

Today I present to you a very special piece: “Misty.” This jazz gem was composed by the great Erroll Garner, a pianist who knew how to touch the soul with his melodies. “Misty” was born as an instrumental piece, inspired by the image of a woman dressed in black whom Garner saw in a jazz club in New York. That vision led him to create a soft, enveloping melody that conveys love, nostalgia, and tenderness. Later on, Johnny Burke added lyrics, turning it into a ballad that has been performed by legendary voices like Ella Fitzgerald and Johnny Mathis.

For me, playing “Misty” is like telling a story without words. It’s letting the saxophone speak for me, expressing the emotion that moves me every time I step onto a stage. I hope this performance brings you a moment of peace, helps you relax, and connects you with something beautiful inside.

🍁 La Gloria de Dios en un otoño sublime 🍁🎷
Hola comunidad hermosa de Open Mic 🙌

Esta semana 291 me sumé al tema “otoño sublime” con una interpretación muy especial: “La Gloria de Dios” de Ricardo Montaner, junto a su hija Evaluna. La toqué con mi saxo, dejando que en cada nota se respire fe, paz y ese calorcito que uno necesita cuando hay vacio y el alma se enfría.

El otoño tiene algo mágico cierto?… no es solo hojas cayendo, es como si todo se pusiera en pausa una lejania para que uno mire hacia adentro. Y esta canción habla justo de eso: de dejarse abrazar por la presencia de Dios, de encontrar ese descanso, de sentir que hay algo mucho más grande que nos sostiene.

Mientras tocaba, sentí que el saxo se volvía viento, luz, como susurro. Como si la gloria de Dios fuera ese gran sol suave que se cuela entre los árboles, que no nos quema, pero sí calienta y da fortaleza. Y pensé: qué bonito es poder compartir esto con ustedes, en esta estación que nos invita a soltar y confiar. por cierto en Venezuela pronto comienzan a caer las hojas para que floreen los mangos

🍁 The Glory of God in a Sublime Autumn 🍁🎷
Hello beautiful Open Mic community 🙌

This week, for week 291, I joined the theme “sublime autumn” with a very special interpretation: “La Gloria de Dios” by Ricardo Montaner, featuring his daughter Evaluna. I played it on my saxophone, letting each note breathe faith, peace, and that warmth we all need when there's emptiness and the soul feels cold.

Autumn has something magical, doesn’t it?… it’s not just falling leaves, it’s like everything slows down, a kind of distance that invites us to look inward. And this song speaks exactly about that: letting ourselves be embraced by the presence of God, finding rest, and feeling that there’s something much greater that holds us.

While I was playing, I felt the sax become wind, light, a whisper. As if the glory of God were that gentle sun filtering through the trees—not burning, but warming and giving strength. And I thought: how beautiful it is to share this with you, in this season that invites us to let go and trust.
By the way, in Venezuela the leaves will soon start falling… so the mango trees can bloom 🌳🥭

Se trata de “Yesterday”, un tema inolvidable que marcó una época y sigue siendo muy querido por todos.Esta canción siempre me ha gustado mucho, y ahora tengo la oportunidad de compartirla con ustedes en esta comunidad tan especial .

Tocando “A mi manera” en Hive Open Mic

Hola amigos vengo por primera vez pues,
hace poco escuché hablar de Hive Open Mic, y la verdad es que me llamó la atención desde el primer momento. Me pareció genial que exista un espacio donde las personas de todo el planeta se reúnen virtualmente para compartir música, arte, emociones etc… sin filtros ni pretensiones con gran humildad. Con talento, ganas y corazón.

Yo no soy cantante aunque me gusta. Mi voz está realmente en el saxofón. Es ahí donde me expreso, donde me libero, donde conecto con lo que siento es mi pasión. Y cuando pensé en qué canción podría tocar para mi primera participación, no lo dudé: A mi manera.

Es una canción un clásico que siempre me ha gustado profundamente. La versión más conocida es la de Frank Sinatra, quien la convirtió prácticamente en un himno de autenticidad y reflexión. Pero lo que muchos no sabían es que se dice que la melodía original es francesa, compuesta por Claude François y Jacques Revaux, con letra de Paul Anka adaptada al inglés. Es una canción que ha viajado por el mundo culturas, idiomas y generaciones, y aún así mantiene su gran esencia intacta: vivir con convicción así como aceptar los errores, y mirar atrás sin arrepentimientos.

Cuando la toco con el saxo, siento que cada melodía cuenta mi historia. No una historia que sea perfecta, pero sí honesta. He tomado muchas veces decisiones difíciles, he seguido caminos que otros no entendían, y he aprendido a aceptar y estoy convencido que lo importante no es hacerlo como todos los hacen, sino hacerlo a mi manera.

Participar en Hive Open Mic con esta canción es mi humilde forma de presentarme. No solo como músico, sino también como persona. Es decir: “Aquí estoy yo, esto soy, y esto es lo que tengo para compartir con cariño”.

Gracias a quienes hacen posible este espacio. Y gracias a quienes escuchan y pueden apreciar con una emoción bonita.

Playing "My Way" at Hive Open Mic

Hi friends, I'm here for the first time.
I recently heard about Hive Open Mic, and the truth is that it caught my attention from the very first moment. I thought it was great that there was a space where people from all over the world could come together virtually to share music, art, emotions, etc., without filters or pretensions, with great humility. With talent, desire, and heart.

I'm not a singer, although I like it. My voice really lies in the saxophone. It's where I express myself, where I let loose, where I connect with what I feel is my passion. And when I thought about which song I could play for my first performance, I didn't hesitate: My Way.

It's a classic song that I've always deeply loved. The best-known version is by Frank Sinatra, who practically turned it into an anthem of authenticity and reflection. But what many didn't know is that the original melody is said to be French, composed by Claude François and Jacques Revaux, with lyrics by Paul Anka adapted into English. It's a song that has traveled across cultures, languages, and generations, yet it maintains its great essence intact: to live with conviction, to accept mistakes, and to look back without regret.

When I play it on the sax, I feel like each melody tells my story. Not a perfect one, but an honest one. I've often made difficult decisions, followed paths that others didn't understand, and I've learned to accept, and I'm convinced that the important thing isn't to do it the way everyone else does, but to do it my way.

Participating in Hive Open Mic with this song is my humble way of introducing myself. Not only as a musician, but also as a person. It's saying: "Here I am, this is who I am, and this is what I have to share with love."

Hola comunidad de Hive Music Festival. Esta semana me presento con mucho entusiasmo para compartirles una interpretación muy conocida : el tema “Así fue” del gran Juan Gabriel, ejecutado con mi querido saxo tenor.

soy un apasionado del sonido que adorna entre los silencios. El saxofón, para mí, es una extensión del cuerpo, una onda que no necesita palabras al decir lo que sentimos. Y “Así fue” es una canción que toca el corazón, que nos habla de amor, del adiós, de la aceptación. Quise llevarlas a ustedes desde mi rincón, con respeto y sencillez.

Juan Gabriel representa una parte esencial de nuestra cultura musical, y esta pieza en particular tiene una carga emocional que se presta para ser tocada desde el aliento del saxofón aunque no es tan sencilla. No busco perfección, sino disfrutar con ustedes. Que quien escuche pueda cerrar los ojos y dejarse llevar por la melodía, sin preocupaciones.

Agradezco a esta comunidad por abrir espacios donde podemos compartir lo que hacemos con gran agrado. Cada semana es una oportunidad para crecer, para aprender.

Hello Hive Music Festival community. This week, I’m excited to share with you a well-known interpretation: the song “Así fue” by the great Juan Gabriel, performed with my beloved tenor saxophone.

I’m passionate about the sound that decorates the silence. The saxophone, to me, is an extension of the body—a wave that doesn’t need words to express what we feel. And “Así fue” is a song that touches the heart, that speaks of love, farewell, and acceptance. I wanted to bring it to you from my little corner, with respect and simplicity.

Juan Gabriel represents an essential part of our musical culture, and this piece in particular carries an emotional weight that lends itself beautifully to being played through the breath of the saxophone—even though it’s not an easy one. I’m not aiming for perfection, but rather to enjoy it with you. I hope that whoever listens can close their eyes and let the melody carry them, free of worries.

I’m grateful to this community for creating spaces where we can share what we do with joy. Each week is a chance to grow, to learn.

¡Hola a todos en la comunidad de Vibes Web3! Es un verdadero placer estar aquí y, por primera vez, participar en este gran concurso. Para mi debut, he elegido interpretar una joya de la música venezolana: "Por Alguien como Tú".

Aunque muchos la asocian con la emotiva voz de Ilan Chester, esta canción fue una composición del destacado músico, arreglista y compositor venezolano Carlos Moreán. Es un verdadero privilegio poder traer un tema con tanta historia y que ha tocado a tantas generaciones.

Como músico, disfruto cada día el privilegio de viajar por mi país, Venezuela, a través de la música. Es un trabajo que me llena de alegría, y compartirlo con ustedes en este espacio me hace muy feliz.

Hello to everyone in the Vibes Web3 community!
It’s a true pleasure to be here and, for the first time, take part in this amazing competition. For my debut, I’ve chosen to perform a gem of Venezuelan music: “Por Alguien como Tú.”

Although many associate it with the heartfelt voice of Ilan Chester, this song was actually composed by the renowned Venezuelan musician, arranger, and composer Carlos Moreán. It’s a real privilege to bring back a piece with such rich history—one that has touched so many generations.

As a musician, I enjoy the daily privilege of traveling through my country, Venezuela, by way of music. It’s a job that fills me with joy, and sharing it with you in this space makes me truly happy.

I hope you enjoy my interpretation of this classic. See you next week!

Mi nombre es Pablo Guillermo Alahe Ybarra y mi usuario en hive.blog es @pablosaxo; .
Hoy por primera vez participo en este escenario digital como lo ha descrito mi amigo @encuentro quien me ha dado orientación para poder estar aquí.

Voy a interpretar de forma instrumental con mi saxo tenor un tema que se lo conocen:
“Bésame Mucho” fue la cual fue escrita por la joven Consuelo Velázquez, una pianista mexicana, cuando tenía solo 16 años, en el año 1932, allá en México. Lo curioso de esto es que, según ella misma reveló , aún no había dado su primer beso cuando la compuso. Pero, logró transmitir una gran emoción sobre el amor y el miedo a perderlo.

La canción se volvió famosa en los años 40, justo cuando el mundo estaba atravesando la Segunda Guerra Mundial (1939–1945). A pesar que México no estuvo en guerra esto afectó lógicamente de manera indirecta a muchos países.

Por eso, frases como “bésame como si fuera esta noche la última vez” tocaron el corazón de millones de personas que mantenían la incertidumbre de la guerra. La canción se volvió un himno al amor , y fue interpretada por artistas de todo el mundo

Hello, warm greetings to the Hive Music Festival community!

My name is Pablo Guillermo Alahe Ybarra, and my username on hive.blog is @pablosaxo.
Today, I’m participating for the first time in this digital stage, as described by my friend @encuentro, who kindly guided me on how to be part of this space.

I will be performing an instrumental version on my tenor saxophone of a well-known piece:
“Bésame Mucho”, written by the young Mexican pianist Consuelo Velázquez when she was only 16 years old, back in 1932 in Mexico. Interestingly, as she herself revealed, she hadn’t yet received her first kiss when she composed it. Still, she managed to express deep emotions about love and the fear of losing it.

The song became famous in the 1940s, during a time when the world was going through World War II (1939–1945). Although Mexico wasn’t directly involved in the war, many countries were affected in different ways.

That’s why phrases like “kiss me as if tonight were the last time” touched the hearts of millions who lived with the uncertainty of war. The song became a hymn to love and was performed by artists all around the world.

Mi nombre es Pablo Guillermo Alahe Ybarra y mi usuario en hive.blog es @pablosaxo; músico de corazón , nacido el 25 de enero de 1972 en la colorida Villa de Cura, Parroquia Las Mercedes,Aragua, Venezuela. Desde niño, la música ha sido muy sueño mi compañera fiel, mi refugio y mi forma de expresarme. Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes no solo parte de mi historia musical, sino también este nuevo capítulo que comienza aquí en Hive, lleno de reencuentros y nuevas oportunidades.

Mi camino en la música empezó con parrandas navideñas, tocando aguinaldos con los Cardenalitos. Aquellas noches encendieron una chispa magica que nunca mas se apagó. Más adelante, estudié teoría y solfeo en la Escuela de Música Ángel Briceño, y me sumergí en los sonidos profundos de la música llanera, acompañando a grandes como el maestro Olo Campos y Yolanda Romero.

Entre 1985, viví momentos muy gratos junto a Diego López y Javier Fuentes, compartiendo reuniones, parrandas y ensayos con el maestro Olo Campos en la parroquia Las Mercedes. Yo tocaba el cuatro, Olo el arpa, y Diego y Javier cantaban con un entusiasmo y mucha ganas de seguir adelante. También formamos parte de los Turpiales de Aragua, con el gran Moronta Emilio Pérez y Mario un grupo de parranda muy querido en nuestra región, considerado patrimonio cultural del municipio Zamora. Aquellos días marcaron profundamente mi amor por la música y mi conexión con nuestras tradiciones.

En 1988, ingresé a la Escuela de: Músicos Militares, y en 1990 tuve la oportunidad de graduarme como ejecutante de saxofón tenor. Durante 22 años, llevé mi trabajo y música a eventos por todo el país #venezuela como parte de las bandas militares. Luego me uní a la Banda Típica del estado Guárico y he tenido el honor de tocar con orquestas como Énfasis, La Billos, Sensación, Klave 9 y muchas más, explorando ritmos que hacen dar emociones a cualquiera: merengue, salsa, guaracha...

Hoy sigo tocando el saxofón barítono en la Orquesta Sin Fronteras de Maracay, un proyecto que me llena de mucha satisfacción y me permite seguir creciendo como músico.

Y ahora, gracias a #Hive, estoy comenzando esta nueva etapa. Mi llegada a esta plataforma fue un reencuentro con una parte de mi pasado: pues visualise contenido compartido por Diego López (@encuentro), un viejo amigo de bachillerato. Sus publicaciones me llamaron la atención y me recordaron aquellos años de bonanza llenos de aprendizajes. #Hive me ha dado la oportunidad de reconectar con personas valiosas y abrirme a una comunidad que nueva con creatividad y apoyo.

Estoy alegre por compartir mi música, mis vivencias y seguir poco a poco aprendiendo junto a ustedes. Gracias por recibirme con tanto cariño.

My name is Pablo Guillermo Alahe Ybarra, and my username on hive.blog is @pablosaxo. I’m a musician at heart, born on January 25, 1972, in the colorful town of Villa de Cura, Las Mercedes Parish, Aragua, Venezuela. Since childhood, music has been my faithful companion, my refuge, and my way of expressing myself. Today, I want to share with you not only part of my musical journey, but also this new chapter that begins here on Hive—full of reunions and new opportunities.

My path in music began with Christmas parrandas, playing traditional aguinaldos with the group Los Cardenalitos. Those nights sparked a magical flame in me that never went out. Later on, I studied theory and solfège at the Ángel Briceño Music School, and I immersed myself in the deep sounds of Venezuelan llanera music, performing alongside greats like Maestro Olo Campos and Yolanda Romero.

Around 1985, I experienced very special moments with Diego López and Javier Fuentes, sharing gatherings, parrandas, and rehearsals with Maestro Olo Campos in Las Mercedes Parish. I played the cuatro, Olo played the harp, and Diego and Javier sang with great enthusiasm and a strong desire to keep moving forward. We were also part of Los Turpiales de Aragua, along with the great Moronta Emilio Pérez and Mario—a beloved parranda group in our region, considered a cultural heritage of the Zamora municipality. Those days deeply shaped my love for music and my connection to our traditions.

In 1988, I entered the Military Musicians School, and in 1990 I had the opportunity to graduate as a tenor saxophone performer. For 22 years, I brought my music and service to events across the country of #Venezuela as part of military bands. Later, I joined the Traditional Band of the state of Guárico and had the honor of performing with orchestras such as Énfasis, La Billos, Sensación, Klave 9, and many others—exploring rhythms that stir emotions in anyone: merengue, salsa, guaracha...

Today, I continue playing the baritone saxophone with the Orquesta Sin Fronteras de Maracay, a project that brings me great satisfaction and allows me to keep growing as a musician.

And now, thanks to #Hive, I’m beginning this new stage. My arrival on this platform was a reunion with a part of my past: I came across content shared by Diego López (@encuentro), an old high school friend. His posts caught my attention and reminded me of those golden years full of learning. #Hive has given me the chance to reconnect with valuable people and open myself to a vibrant community full of creativity and support.

I’m happy to share my music, my experiences, and to keep learning little by little alongside all of you. Thank you for welcoming me so warmly.
