This morning, my mom and I went to my school to get my report card for this school year, and I am ready to go to the 6th grade soon. After that, we went to the mall to buy some groceries, and when we got back home, we just left our groceries and headed somewhere on the farm. We went to see the new farm resort, which is not very far from our house and is located in the middle of the wilderness. There are not a lot of houses going there, and what we saw was all trees, farm animals, and hearing the sounds of insects. It is very relaxing but it is a little scary because we rarely saw people on our way there. When we got to the farm resort, there were only two guests and us. We ordered food right away because we were already very hungry at that time. While waiting for our food to be served, we walked around and saw some straw-nest hammocks. It was pretty cool, so we tried sitting on one of them. Here's a short video of me sitting on the straw nest hammock. I hope you enjoy the view. Today, I am going to my grandma's house and spending Holy Week there together with my mom. We are now getting ready to leave here before sunset. It is noon here now.

But before we leave, I want to share one more video of my visit to the floating library—the Doulus Hope—but not the ship itself. I am showing you the library inside the ship. There were so many books on sale and everything was very affordable. I did not buy any books but I bought a few pens and notebooks, as I mentioned in my previous post. And here in the video, you can see me looking at some books on one of the shelves inside the Doulos Hope. For those who haven't read my post about the floating library, it is a ship library and it's huge and full of books and other souvenirs about the ship.

Last night, I went to bed shivering and I got a high fever. My mom told me I was very hot and when she checked my temperature, it was 39.8 degrees Celsius. My mom gave me medicine immediately and I had to wake up every 4 hours to take my medicine. I was asleep all day and now I just woke up to take my medicine again and have dinner because I haven't had breakfast or lunch today. My temperature went down a little bit but I am still feeling sick.

So today, I am just going to post a video I took the other night when my mom and I went to the floating library that is on a ship. I posted that on my previous blog. This is the Doulos Hope and I had a great time walking inside the floating library.

Today, I woke up feeling hot and just knew we have no power today all day from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. I am still sleepy, but I can't because it's too hot without a fan or air conditioner. But while I have battery, I am going to share our activity yesterday in school as we celebrated our school's 60th foundation day. All of us in the elementary department performed native dances from all the continents of the world. The kindergarten and SPED performed Hawaiian dance; Grades 1 and 2 performed dance from Brazil; Grades 3 and 4 performed a native Philippine dance; and Grades 5 and 6 performed a dance from Africa. We started very early, around 8 a.m., at our school parking lot and our audience is our teachers and parents. It was fun, everyone was happy, and our team won Best in Discipline. My classmates were screaming with happiness. After the event, we went straight home and I was feeling so tired. I fell asleep immediately and woke up around 8 p.m. last night.

I forgot I had a video of me and my dad walking at the riverside taken a month ago when he came home for a short vacation. I had no classes that day and my mom suggested we go on a short visit to one of our favorite coffee shops that is located by the river. It's called Cafe By The River, located in Bauang, La Union. I don't have a video of the coffee shop but here is the riverside view. It is so beautiful, relaxing, and quiet. We were the only ones who were there that day and we enjoyed the place so much. We had our late breakfast there and after that, we had a walk around. It was a great day. Watch the video to appreciate it.

A few days ago, I posted my walk to the two hanging bridges with my mom and dad. The first one was made of strong steel, and it's wider. Motorbikes and bikes can pass through it too, but the second one was narrow and very old and the steel is thin and rusty and looks like it's going to break anytime soon. My dad is very tall and heavy, so I was a little nervous when we were walking. It was swinging too. But I kept walking and did not think about it so that I wouldn't panic. I was only worried about my phone because I did not want it to fall.

Today is the last day of the year and in a few hours, it's already 2024. Before the year ends, I want to share one video of our travels this December with my mom. This is Wright Park in Baguio City. This was just a side trip while we were waiting for my mom's friend and we were about to travel to Benguet. But Wright Park is a pretty tourist spot where you can enjoy the pine trees at the park and you could also rent a horse for a ride. We did not rent one because we were running out of time. While waiting, I took a video of the pretty fountain, and I had fun watching it. I hope you'll love it too.

Last Wednesday, my mom and I went up to Baguio for a Christmas holiday adventure. We only had breakfast in the city and then we went straight to Tublay, Benguet, together with her friends to visit the new tourist spot called "Beacon Hill Eco-Park." This park is a UK-inspired park. The telephone booth, the bus, the decor, and even the flag of the UK are everywhere around the park. It is located on top of the mountains along the road and it is a few minutes drive from La Trinidad, Benguet. Their Christmas decor is so pretty, especially the flowers. It is so breathtaking to see the mountains on the other side, too. The hike is a little tiring for me but I had a great time.

Last night, my mom and I went to our town plaza to watch the Christmas light shows and visit the Christmas Village as well. We had to ride a trike to town because it is a little bit far if we walk. We went there early, at 6 p.m. last night so that we wouldn't have to walk in a crowd. People visit the plaza around 8 p.m. onwards. When we got there, there were not a lot of people yet, so we had a great time watching and taking photos. The plaza was so bright, and my favorite was the Christmas tree. It was so colorful, full of lights, and huge—almost as high as the Acacia tree in the plaza.

Today, I am taking you to another place where my family had a side trip to the Valley of Colors in La Trinidad, Benguet. We were there two weeks ago when my dad was home for a short vacation. We went there on a very early Sunday morning. So these are colorful houses painted like rainbows on top of the mountain. It is also along a city road, I think, and it is super pretty. It looks like a painting from a distance. These are real houses, and they are just very close to each other. We only stopped there for photos, and it did not take us 10 minutes because we were going to another place, which would take a lot of hiking. When we get another chance to go there, I will take more videos and photos. My mom and dad took a lot of photos, and I am posting a short video for you to see.

I posted a few days ago about my family visit to the haunted Diplomat Hotel in Baguio City. I only posted the garden and the flowers I took, and my mom posted photos of the hotel. Today, I'm going to share our family lunch from last Sunday, my dad's last day in the Philippines before he gets back to Vegas. We went to Amare Pizza; it's a brick-oven pizza restaurant here in La Union. They also serve different Italian foods, American foods, and International foods. Their servings are big, and we did not even finish all the food because what we ordered looked like it's good for 10 people. We just asked the crew to pack the rest because it was really a lot.

We ordered Pepperoni Pizza, Back Ribs Premium, Fries, Salad, Pasta, Fried Boneless Chicken, and soda. The crew said that if our total bill is 1500 pesos or higher, we get a free Nutella pizza with vanilla ice cream on top. I think mom and dad paid almost 5000 pesos for all our orders, so we had free Nutella pizza. For the price, I think it's worth it. Their food is super yummy, too.

My mom and I just got back home from my grandma's house. We stayed there for 2 days since Halloween. We also visited our departed loved ones the other day, and yesterday, we just rested and played with our dog. Gramma's place is on the farm, and the internet is slow there, so we only used phone data.

Now we're home, and I am going to post about the coffee shop we visited before Halloween. This is located by the beach, and if you have seen my last post, that's how it looks outside. Today, I am going to show you what it looks like inside. It is pretty, and it has lots of cartoon character paintings and also anime figures displayed. I also posted photos of the anime figures a few days ago. The coffee shop is called Stream of Consciousness, and I think it is Japanese-inspired and the owner is a Filipino celebrity.

School is starting to get busy, and I don't know if I can post every day here, but I'll try. Today, we started discussing our subjects and other lessons. I brought all my 13 books, and tomorrow we are going to bring all our notebooks. We only went to school for half the day today because there was a teacher meeting in the afternoon. When I got back home, I rested after I had my lunch. I was rested, and I am now here. Then I am going back to do some writing in my notebooks.

Yesterday was the celebration of "Buwan Ng Wika," which is celebrated here in the Philippines every month of August. But since it has been raining for the past few weeks, our celebration in school was postponed, and we had our "Buwan Ng Wika" yesterday. It is a celebration where we use the Filipino language and everything that has to do with Filipino cultures. We, the 5th graders, performed a song, as did the other grades. Our teachers also performed, and this video was the finale, and you can see two of our teachers dancing gracefully on the stage.

Yesterday, I could not post because our power kept turning on and off and it was still raining. I was playing and drawing online yesterday after our lunch, and I heard a loud noise from our patio. I thought someone threw a stone at our window. My mom was watching TV, and she heard it too because she was closer to the window. We both went out to see it, and we saw our stray cat Luna chasing a bird. She caught a bird and ran away. Her kitty sibling wanted a bird too, but Luna was not sharing, and she was trying to hide in our yard. I feel bad for the little bird, but that's what cats do. They hunt. We took photos and videos, and here it is.
