Nestled in the embrace of the Rila Mountain range, Panichishte is a true alpine paradise. Located at an altitude of approximately 1,350 meters, this quaint resort is a gateway to some of Bulgaria’s most breathtaking natural wonders. Known for its serene landscapes, panoramic views, and year-round activities, Panichishte offers a perfect escape for nature enthusiasts, adventure seekers, and anyone longing to reconnect with the great outdoors.

The Beauty of Panichishte’s Natural Surroundings

Panichishte is surrounded by dense pine forests, which are especially captivating during the winter months when they are blanketed in snow. This tranquil setting provides an ideal retreat from the noise and stress of urban life. As you wander through its well-preserved trails, you’ll find yourself immersed in the fresh mountain air and the soothing sounds of nature.

One of the highlights of Panichishte is its proximity to the Seven Rila Lakes. These glacial lakes, nestled at elevations ranging from 2,100 to 2,500 meters, are among the most iconic landmarks in Bulgaria. In summer, their crystal-clear waters reflect the surrounding peaks, while in winter, they transform into a serene, snow-covered wonderland. Each lake has its unique charm and name, from the lowest – the Lower Lake – to the highest – the Tear, known for its pristine clarity.

Adventure Awaits All Year Round

Hiking trails become accessible, leading adventurers through scenic routes toward the Seven Rila Lakes, Skakavitsa Waterfall, and other natural attractions. The trail to Skakavitsa Waterfall is particularly rewarding, offering a close encounter with the highest waterfall in the Rila Mountains, which plunges 70 meters down a rocky cliff. For those seeking a challenge, the area also serves as a starting point for climbing Mount Musala, the highest peak in the Balkans.

The charm of Panichishte extends beyond its natural beauty. The village itself is a warm and welcoming community where visitors can experience authentic Bulgarian hospitality. Family-run guesthouses and cozy chalets offer a comfortable stay, often paired with hearty, homemade meals featuring local ingredients. Traditional dishes like banitsa, shopska salad, and kavarma are just a few of the culinary delights awaiting travelers.

Panichishte is also known for its proximity to the Rila Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A short drive away, this architectural and spiritual marvel provides an enriching cultural experience to complement the natural adventures.

Aerial Views That Inspire

For those fortunate enough to explore Panichishte from above, the views are nothing short of spectacular.
Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, is a city where history, culture, and modern life intertwine seamlessly. Its city center is a treasure trove of landmarks that tell the story of centuries past, making it a must-visit destination for travelers seeking both beauty and history.

The Statue of Saint Sofia

Standing tall in the heart of the city, the Statue of Saint Sofia is a modern symbol of the capital, unveiled in 2000. At 20 meters high, the statue embodies wisdom, glory, and prosperity. Positioned at a crossroads of iconic streets, it serves as a reminder of Sofia’s enduring significance as a cultural and spiritual center.

The Church of St. Nedelya

The Church of St. Nedelya is one of Sofia’s most prominent religious buildings. With a history spanning centuries, this architectural masterpiece is located at the heart of the city. Its grandeur and spiritual aura make it a symbol of the deep connection between tradition and faith in Bulgarian culture.

The Rotunda of St. George

Hidden amidst modern buildings, the Rotunda of St. George is Sofia’s oldest preserved architectural monument, dating back to the 4th century. Known for its unique frescoes and centuries-old spirit, this red-brick church offers a rare glimpse into the city's early Christian history.

Banya Bashi Mosque

Built in 1576 during the Ottoman rule, the Banya Bashi Mosque is one of the oldest and best-preserved mosques in Sofia. Located in the bustling city center, it stands out with its architectural beauty and historical significance, serving as a testament to Sofia’s multicultural heritage.

The Serdica Ruins

The Serdica archaeological complex unveils the remains of the ancient Roman city that once thrived here in the 1st and 2nd centuries. The site includes remnants of city walls, baths, and streets, offering visitors a fascinating journey into Sofia’s Roman past and its importance as a trade and cultural hub.

The Central Mineral Baths

A true architectural gem, the Central Mineral Baths were built in 1913 in a stunning Neo-Byzantine style. Although no longer functioning as baths, the building now houses the Museum of the History of Sofia, blending historical heritage with architectural splendor.

The Central Market Hall

Opened in 1911, the Central Market Hall is a vibrant hub of activity in Sofia’s city center. Its Neo-Classical and Neo-Byzantine design makes it a striking landmark, while its lively atmosphere and variety of goods reflect the everyday life of the city.

Capturing Sofia’s Landmarks with a Drone

One of the most spectacular ways to experience Sofia’s landmarks is through aerial drone footage. The bird’s-eye perspective reveals the intricate layout of the city center, where ancient ruins coexist with modern architecture. Flying over the Statue of Saint Sofia offers a unique view of its towering presence against the urban backdrop. The Rotunda of St. George, nestled among contemporary buildings, is even more captivating from above, showcasing its contrast with the surrounding environment.

The drone’s lens captures the geometric beauty of the Serdica ruins, highlighting the precise planning of the ancient Roman city. Meanwhile, the Central Mineral Baths and the Banya Bashi Mosque stand out with their colorful domes and intricate details. Drone footage also brings the bustling atmosphere of the Central Market Hall to life, offering dynamic shots of its exterior and the vibrant streets around it.

From ancient ruins to modern symbols, these landmarks create a captivating narrative of a city that has stood at the crossroads of civilizations for millennia. Whether you're a history enthusiast or a casual traveler, Sofia’s treasures are sure to leave a lasting impression.

When its waters are plucked by the winds and elements of nature these uniquely beautiful natural cliffs take shape. Everything here is the work of mother nature. That is why in 2009 the Belogradchik Rocks were classified as the new 7 natural wonders of the world.

Because of a lack of positive foreign government policy, we were selected 77th out of 200 plus candidates. There is no doubt that the Belogradchik Rocks and the Kaleto Fortress are the tourist pride of Bulgaria and in my personal opinion the most beautiful place on our land.

If you've never heard of our country but want to experience this place, then get in touch. I organize photographic trips for educational purposes to the most interesting Bulgarian places. There is no way to learn photography in the office. It has to be lived!

It is located in the Rhodope Mountains above Asenovgrad.

The other day, with my wife and child / the 2-year-old big man Coco /, we went by car to one of the most famous sights of Bulgaria. It was so warm that when I got out of the car to get spring water from a mountain spring I felt dizzy. Be careful when leaving the air conditioner in the car. My wife and child remained in the shadows while I was shooting with the drone. I didn't want to give them heat stroke. In such moments, I only sacrifice myself!

Since it is only 15 kilometers from the second largest Bulgarian city - Plovdiv, the fortress enjoys huge tourist interest. Flying the drone around it was a challenge because of the many antennas that jammed the signal. I am happy that I was able to capture these 2 minutes for you to see.

During his school years, the man had a brief relationship with a Bulgarian girl from a nearby village. She took him to the waterfall to the monastery to watch the water spray.
Meeting this family was very emotional for me. The closeness they demonstrated is textbook. I am very sorry that I will not show you the young lovers because they wished to remain anonymous. In fact, almost all the Tories I show Bulgaria to want to keep the photos for themselves.

If you don't know what I do now I will tell you - I organize a Bulgarian experience in an authentic way for every foreigner who contacts me. I started pouring it because from the way I was taking pictures I realized that the world just doesn't know about our beautiful country...

It is part of the UNESCO cultural heritage. This is a male monastery, tourists should follow a dress code. Bare backs or skimpy clothing are not allowed.

In the video you will also see the monastery ossuary, which looks quite dramatic in bad weather.

I tried to fly quite close to the buildings so you could see the beautiful ornaments. The monastery is located in Rila mountain. It is surrounded by unique nature - a dense forest and two fast-flowing rivers.
The road to it is easily passable by any type of vehicle. There are a few twists and turns, but it's definitely worth it! You can see photos from the place in my story at Ecency.

I came here for the lighthouse. It is the only one located inside the sea. Everything was going well until I had to buy a bottle of mineral water for 2 euros... In addition to the high price, I waited 10 minutes for them to take my money.

This is one of the few places on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast where people come to the beach to have fun. In the video, children and parents can be seen jumping into the water from the rocks.

How does it sound just…

We are located next to one of the most famous and largest Bulgarian dams - Ogosta. The weather was extremely warm and NOT photographic. Not a single cloud...
The last time I came here was two years ago. Luckily for me, in the last week the waters of the dam have reached a critical point. All the caravans, tents and small buildings around the shore were swept away under water. When we turned off on the dirt road that used to lead almost to the church now more than half was simply under water.

I saw an elderly man who had parked at the dam. He was fixing something on the boat behind the jeep. I was simply obliged to ask him if he would take us by boat to the church, because otherwise the whole study would fail. Fortunately, the man was exceptionally good and did it!
