A finales de Noviembre tuve la oportunidad de asistir a un Festival de Tizas abierto a la comunidad y que estuvo organizado por el Restaurant Modo Caracas en conjunto con la marca Pointer. La idea era simplemente que tanto adultos y niños se divirtieran durante una tarde de domingo coloreando con tizas las aceras. Fue un momento genial, de esos que te llenan el alma y ponen a trabajar a tope tu creatividad de una manera divertida. Obviamente no perdí la oportunidad de realizar mi respectivo registro fotográfico de esta experiencia bonita. Así que sin más, aquí les comparto fragmentos de esa tarde llena de colores ✨

At the end of November, I had the opportunity to attend a Chalk Festival open to the community, organized by Restaurant Modo Caracas in conjunction with the Pointer brand. The idea was simply for adults and children alike to have fun on a Sunday afternoon coloring the sidewalks with chalk. It was a great moment, one of those that fills your soul and puts your creativity to work in a fun way. Obviously, I didn't miss the opportunity to take photos of this beautiful experience. So, without further ado, here are some snapshots of that colorful afternoon ✨

Nuevo año, nuevos objetivos y una gran dosis de motivación, pero ¡heeeey! detente, hay que sentarse un rato a meditar qué es lo que queremos para este 2026 y cómo será el plan de acción a ejecutar para llevar nuestros objetivos del papel a la realidad. Esto aplica para todas las áreas de nuestra vida e incluyendo, por supuesto, nuestro Blog en HIVE.

Nuevamente el equipo de @hivecreatorsday nos ha motivado a poner manos a la obra y aprovechar esa actitud positiva de inicios de año para planificar, organizar y proyectar nuestro 2026 dentro de Hive. Empleando una herramienta similar a cuando hiciste tu Hive RECAP 2025, en esta oportunidad tendrás que responder seis preguntas acerca de tu proyección personal dentro del Ecosistema para este 2026, pero si quieres saber más detalles al respecto, mejor da click aquí para que te enteres de todo.

New year, new goals, and a big dose of motivation, but hey! Hold on, we need to sit down for a moment and think about what we want for 2026 and what our action plan will be to turn our goals from paper into reality. This applies to all areas of our lives, including, of course, our HIVE Blog.

Si alguien en algún momento te llega a decir que el dinero no puede comprar la felicidad...¡ignóralo! Con dinero puedes comprar, por ejemplo, el álbum de tu cantante favorito y eso, definitivamente, es felicidad absoluta. Tenía mucho tiempo sin adquirir álbumes musicales de mis cantantes favoritos, básicamente por el simple hecho de que no le encontraba demasiada emoción al asunto, pero esto cambió completamente cuando me adentré en el mundo del K-Pop y descubrí que los álbumes musicales de los cantantes surcoreanos resultan ser toda una experiencia coleccionable que va más allá de tener únicamente en tus manos un CD con una carátula bonita y un cancionero.

Para mi cumpleaños del año pasado decidí darme un regalo especial: el álbum LAYOVER de V de BTS, el cual es sin duda uno de mis favoritos de los álbumes en solitario que poseen cada uno de los integrantes de este grupo, pues es una mezcla interesante de géneros musicales que me gustan mucho como el Jazz, el R&B, el soul y el pop. Fue muy emocionante hacer el unboxing de Layover porque además de ser el primer álbum musical que adquiero después de mucho tiempo es el primer álbum de un artista surcoreano que llega a mis manos y sin mencionar que su estética es bastante diferente y especial, haciéndote sentir sumamente cercano al artista hasta un punto en el que sientes que te ha llegado una cajita de encomienda con recuerdos de tu amigo para contarte qué ha sido de su vida en los últimos meses.

Cuéntame, ¿has llegado a adquirir algún álbum de alguno de tus cantantes favoritos?

If someone ever tells you that money can't buy happiness...ignore them! With money you can buy, for example, the album of your favorite singer and that, definitely, is absolute happiness. I had a long time without buying music albums of my favorite singers, basically for the simple fact that I didn't find too much emotion in the matter, but this changed completely when I got into the world of K-Pop and discovered that the music albums of South Korean singers turn out to be a collectible experience that goes beyond just having in your hands a CD with a nice cover and a songbook.

For my birthday last year I decided to give myself a special gift: the album LAYOVER by V of BTS, which is undoubtedly one of my favorites of the solo albums owned by each of the members of this group, because it is an interesting mix of musical genres that I like a lot like Jazz, R&B, soul and pop. It was very exciting to do the unboxing of Layover because besides being the first musical album that I acquire after a long time it is the first album of a South Korean artist that comes to my hands and not to mention that its aesthetics is quite different and special, making you feel extremely close to the artist to a point where you feel that you have received a little parcel box with memories of your friend to tell you what has been in his life in recent months.

El 2024 fue uno de mis años más artísticos en el cual me atreví a experimentar plenamente con mis habilidades y los recursos que tenía a mano, liberándome un poco de ese "dejar de hacer porque siento que no resultará como quiero", lo cual me llevó a crear una muy profunda conexión con todo aquello que plasmaba y en lugar de crear por crear me abrí paso en el dejar fluir para crear...dejar fluir emociones, dejar fluir pensamientos, dejar fluir momentos y plasmarlos de la manera en que me ayudara más a ser consciente de ese sentir-pensar.

Acompaño este post con ese recap de todo un año de arte...aunque, la verdad, se siente extraño el hecho de ver resumido todo un año artístico en apenas treinta segundos de video, es como si no hubiese dedicado tantas horas a crear y plasmar cuando realmente a veces para diseñar un solo boceto estuve más de medio día sumergida en lo que hacía. Es divertido hacer un recuento de todo lo que realizaste en un año, pues de cierta manera estás midiendo tú progreso sin darte cuenta pero más allá de eso te permite conectar con tu "yo" del pasado y revivir el porqué de eso que hiciste, revivir el cómo te sentías en ese momento.

2024 fue un año bastante acontecido. Pasaron muchas cosas tanto positivas como negativas que nunca llegué a imaginar que pasarían, pero que las agradezco infinitamente porque me hicieron crecer y darle un nuevo sentido a mis marcadores y pinceles, para darme cuenta de que el arte forma tan parte de mi vida como la carrera que elegí estudiar en la Universidad y que, simplemente, sin arte y colores me apago.

Para este año tengo nuevos objetivos y metas "artísticas" un poco más ambiciosas. Así que mientras me mantengo constante y enfocada, también cruzaré los dedos para que todo fluya como tenga que fluir 💜✨

2024 was one of my most artistic years in which I dared to experiment fully with my abilities and the resources I had at hand, freeing myself a bit from that “stop doing because I feel it won't turn out the way I want it to”, which led me to create a very deep connection with everything I was creating and instead of creating for the sake of creating I made my way into letting flow in order to create. ...let emotions flow, let thoughts flow, let moments flow and capture them in the way that helped me the most to be conscious of that feeling-thinking.

I accompany this post with this recap of a whole year of art...although, to tell the truth, it feels strange to see a whole artistic year summarized in just thirty seconds of video, it is as if I had not spent so many hours to create and capture when in fact sometimes to design a single sketch I spent more than half a day immersed in what I was doing. It's fun to make a recount of everything you did in a year, because in a way you are measuring your progress without realizing it, but beyond that it allows you to connect with your “I” of the past and relive the reason for what you did, relive how you felt at that moment.

2024 was quite an eventful year. Many things happened, both positive and negative, that I never imagined would happen, but that I am infinitely grateful for because they made me grow and give a new meaning to my markers and brushes, to realize that art is as much a part of my life as the career I chose to study at the University and that, simply put, without art and colors I would turn off.

For this year I have new objectives and “artistic” goals that are a bit more ambitious. So while I stay constant and focused, I will also cross my fingers that everything flows as it has to flow 💜✨.

Siempre me ha gustado todo lo que tiene que ver con deportes extremos, aquellos que te llevan a experimentar ese subidón de adrenalina que te hace sentir realmente vivo. En Octubre de este año me atreví a vivir una de las mejores experiencias extremas que he tenido hasta ahora: realicé Salto en Péndulo Base. Básicamente esta es una actividad extrema que consiste en lanzarse desde una altura elevada, obviamente, sujetado a un equipo de seguridad.

No se asusten, esto es realmente seguro.

La compañía con la que me aventuré a realizar esta experiencia lleva varios años realizando estas actividades, además tienen pleno conocimiento sobre equipos de seguridad. Al llegar al lugar te explican con detalle la programación, cómo se realiza el salto y todo lo concerniente al equipo de seguridad. El paquete pagado incluía el traslado ida y vuelta, dos saltos y fotografías y vídeos. Esta ha sido una de las mejores experiencias del 2024 que, sin duda, espero repetir nuevamente en 2025 junto a @madefrance.

I've always liked everything that has to do with extreme sports, those that make you experience that adrenaline rush that makes you feel really alive. In October of this year I dared to live one of the best extreme experiences I've had so far: I did Base Pendulum Jumping. Basically this is an extreme activity that consists of jumping from an elevated height, obviously, attached to a safety equipment.

Don't panic, this is really safe.

The company with which I ventured to do this experience has been doing these activities for several years, and they have full knowledge about safety equipment. When you arrive at the place they explain in detail the schedule, how the jump is done and everything concerning the safety equipment. The paid package included round trip transportation, two jumps, photos and videos. This has been one of the best experiences of 2024 that, without a doubt, I hope to repeat again in 2025 with @madefrance.

Durante el mes de Enero, el Municipio Chacao de la ciudad de Caracas se ha llenado de arte y color gracias a la Exposición de Arte Urbana: Meninas Caracas Gallery. Como es evidente yo no perdí la oportunidad de realizar este recorrido de la ciudad en busca de las 19 Meninas del artista plástico Antonio Azzato. Sin duda, fue toda una aventura caraqueña y una excelente manera de disfrutar de mi ciudad.

During the month of January, the Municipality of Chacao in the city of Caracas has been filled with art and color thanks to the Exposición de Arte Urbana: Meninas Caracas Gallery. As it is evident I did not miss the opportunity to make this tour of the city in search of the 19 Meninas of the artist Antonio Azzato. Undoubtedly, it was a real "Caracas adventure" and an excellent way to enjoy my city.

Hoy daremos un breve recorrido por las salas del Museo de Arte Contemporáneo Armando Reverón ubicado en Parque Central, Caracas. Comenzamos este recorrido con una exhibición en honor al pintor y escultor Pablo Picasso llamada: "Todo lo que es imaginado puede ser real", en donde podemos apreciar algunas de sus obras más conocidas y su serie de once litografías de "El Toro". La exhibición "Antípodas Culturales: Seúl-Caracas/Caracas-Seúl” fue otra de las exhibiciones que disfrutamos ese día. Fue organizada de manera conjunta por el Ministerio para la Cultura y la Embajada de la República de Corea con el fin de adentrar a los espectadores en un recorrido por la cultura coreana.

Finalizamos el recorrido dándole un vistazo a las esculturas de la zona exterior del museo en donde también se tiene una vista increíble de una de las Torres de Parque Central. La entrada a este museo es gratuita y puede ser visitado de Martes a Domingo de 10:00 a.m a 5:00 p.m...sin duda es u excelente plan de fin de semana.

Today we will take a brief tour through the halls of the Armando Reverón Museum of Contemporary Art located in Parque Central, Caracas. We begin this tour with an exhibition in honor of the painter and sculptor Pablo Picasso called: "Everything that is imagined can be real ", where we can appreciate some of his best known works and his series of eleven lithographs of "El Toro". The exhibition "Cultural Antipodes: Seoul-Caracas/Caracas-Seoul " was another of the exhibitions we enjoyed that day. It was jointly organized by the Ministry of Culture and the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in order to take the spectators on a journey through Korean culture.

We ended the tour by taking a look at the sculptures in the outdoor area of the museum where you also have an incredible view of one of the Central Park Towers. Admission to this museum is free and it can be visited from Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m....without a doubt it is an excellent weekend plan.

Hoy te comparto un recorrido por el famoso Museo de los Niños en Caracas. Muchas personas piensan que este museo ya no está operativo, pero no ¡nada que ver! Aún abre sus puertas a niños, jóvenes y adultos. Este es uno de los pocos museos privados que se encuentran en la ciudad, porque lo que la entrada a las instalaciones posee un costo ($5,8 para ser exactos). Sin duda, visitar este museo puede ser un buen plan para fin de semana.

Today I share with you a tour of the famous Museo de los Niños in Caracas. Many people think that this museum is no longer operational, but no, nothing to see! It still opens its doors to children, youth and adults. This is one of the few private museums in the city, because the entrance to the facilities has a cost ($5,8 to be exact). Without a doubt, visiting this museum can be a good weekend plan.

La arepa no es el único desayuno por excelencia de nosotros los venezolanos, pues lo cierto es que existe otro alimento que también forma parte de nuestros desayunos, pero que la mayoría de las veces no suele llevarse el protagonismo que merece. Te estoy hablando de el cachito un panecillo que suele estar relleno de jamón, pero que últimamente la variedad de su relleno ha ido evolucionando.

Así como la combinación de una empanada con malta guarda un lugar especial en nuestros corazones venezolanos, la combinación de un cachito con café o un cachito con Riko Malt también nos desbloquea de inmediato buenos recuerdos. Y es que estoy segura que si eres venezolano más de una vez desayunaste con esta combinación en una panadería cerca de tu casa o más de una vez el cachito con Riko Malt fue lo que tu mamá guardó en tu lonchera para que pudieses desayunar en el colegio. En este Capítulo de mi sección Un Café con Mary te llevo conmigo a un lugar en Caracas donde fácilmente podemos desbloquear estos momentos foodie venezolanos al probar unos de los mejores cachitos de la ciudad.

The arepa is not the only breakfast par excellence of us Venezuelans, because the truth is that there is another food that is also part of our breakfasts, but that most of the time does not usually get the prominence it deserves. I'm talking about el cachito a roll that is usually filled with ham, but lately the variety of its filling has been evolving.

Just as the combination of an empanada with malt holds a special place in our Venezuelan hearts, the combination of a cachito with coffee or a cachito with Riko Malt also immediately unlocks good memories. And I am sure that if you are Venezuelan more than once you had breakfast with this combination in a bakery near your house or more than once the cachito with Riko Malt was what your mom kept in your lunch box so you could have breakfast at school. In this Chapter of my section Un Café con Mary I take you with me to a place in Caracas where we can easily unlock these Venezuelan foodie moments by tasting some of the best cachitos in town.

La Panadería Cachito abrió sus puertas a finales de agosto del año pasado, perteneciendo a los mismos dueños de las populares franquicias Pastas Morandi y Pasticho. Esta panadería es bastante particular, no sólo por su estética tan minimalista sino por el concepto que maneja, ¿es que acaso había existido antes otra panadería en Caracas que se dedicara solamente a la creación de cachitos? pues creo que no. De su menú de cachitos podemos elegir entre seis opciones de relleno diferentes: jamón de pavo con queso paisa, mortadela taliana, jamón, jamón y queso crema, ricotta con espinaca y cuatro quesos. La masa de estos cachitos es sumamente suave y me pareció que estaba perfectamente trabajada, además de que se notaba que estaban frescos. Eso sí, son algo pequeños, pero tienen una gran cantidad de relleno que compensa perfectamente el tema del tamaño. El de ricotta con espinacas fue mi opción favorita en esta ocasión, lo recomiendo con los ojos cerrados.

The Panadería Cachito opened its doors at the end of August last year, belonging to the same owners of the popular Pastas Morandi and Pasticho franchises. This bakery is quite unique, not only because of its minimalist aesthetics but also because of the concept it handles, Has there ever been another bakery in Caracas that was dedicated only to the creation of cachitos? well, I don't think so. From their cachitos menu we can choose from six different filling options: turkey ham with paisa cheese, mortadella taliana, ham, ham and cream cheese, ricotta with spinach and four cheeses. The dough of these little cubes is extremely soft and I thought it was perfectly worked, and you could tell they were fresh. Yes, they are a bit small, but they have a large amount of filling that makes up for the size issue. The ricotta with spinach was my favorite option on this occasion, I recommend it with my eyes closed.

Algo particular que noté es que la máquina de espresso no se encuentra en el interior del local, detrás del mostrador como es costumbre, sino más bien se encuentra justo al lado de la caja para cancelar, es decir, que puedes visualizar claramente cuando el barista te prepara tu café y tu simplemente vas y lo tomas cuando ya está listo. Fue gracioso, porque le pregunté al chico si no tenía problema en que lo grabara mientras preparaba nuestros cafés. Él, totalmente encantado, me dijo que no había problema. Este es un punto importante que me gustaría resaltar: la amabilidad y cordialidad de cada una de las personas que trabajan en este establecimiento. El trato que te brindan es increíble, pues desde que llegas te reciben con una enorme sonrisa en el rostro. Es imposible no irse de la Pandería Cachito con una enorme sonrisa en el rostro, simplemente sales de ahí con la barriga llena y el corazón contento. Espero regresar pronto para probar el cachito de mortadela italiana y la famosa rosetta de guayaba y queso labneh que me han comentado es increíble.

One particular thing I noticed is that the espresso machine is not located inside the bar, behind the counter as usual, but rather it is right next to the cash register, meaning that you can clearly see when the barista prepares your coffee and you simply go and take it when it is ready. It was funny, because I asked the guy if he had no problem with me recording him while he was preparing our coffees. He, totally delighted, told me that there was no problem. This is an important point I would like to highlight: the kindness and cordiality of each of the people who work in this establishment. The treatment they give you is incredible, because from the moment you arrive they welcome you with a huge smile on their face. It is impossible not to leave Pandería Cachito with a huge smile on your face, you simply leave with a full belly and a happy heart. I hope to return soon to try the Italian mortadella and the famous guava and labneh cheese rosetta, which I have been told is incredible.

El 2024 ya ha iniciado y es por ello que ha llegado el momento de organizar nuestro año y darle un propósito para así poder lograr cosas geniales durante estos nuevos doce meses que tenemos por delante. En este breve vídeo les comparto un poco del paso a paso de mi Bullet Journal Setup para el 2024 el cual puede llegar a servir de inspiración, dándole ideas a quienes están iniciando en este mundo de la organización creativa.

Para este año tengo una agenda nueva de hojas punteadas que pude adquirir gracias a @zullyscott y @filoriologo. La verdad es que estoy flipando con esta agenda pues desde hace tiempo quería una de este estilo, pero me había limitado a adquirirla porque en Caracas son verdaderamente difíciles de conseguir y en caso de hacerlo los costos terminan siendo bastante elevados. Otro punto a favor, y que realmente me tranquiliza, es el grosor de sus hojas, pues las hojas de la agenda que usé durante el 2023 eran muy delgadas, por lo que el marcador siempre traspasaba y se convertía en un verdadero dolor de cabeza para mí.

In this short video I share with you a little step by step of my Bullet Journal Setup for 2024 which can serve as inspiration, giving ideas to those who are starting in this world of creative organization.

For this year I have a new dotted sheet planner that I was able to acquire thanks to @zullyscott and @filoriologo. The truth is that I am freaking out with this agenda because for a long time I wanted one of this style, but I had limited myself to acquire it because in Caracas they are really difficult to get and in case of doing so the costs end up being quite high. Another point in favor, and that really reassures me, is the thickness of its pages, because the pages of the agenda I used during 2023 were very thin, so the marker always went through and became a real headache for me.

Esta agenda posee al inicio un par de hojas de rayas como índice, pero realmente no me convencía dejar tanto espacio así que quise iniciar desde esas mismas páginas. Antes de realizar una planificación del mes de Enero, quise configurar mi BuJo con algunas páginas previas que me serían de utilidad y motivación durante todo el año. En estas páginas iniciales se puede visualizar una sencilla portada de 2024, una página que destiné para escribir un mensaje motivacional que puedo leer en cualquier momento para subir los ánimos, un Vision Board con mis metas y objetivos para este año y calendario anual (future log o registro futuro). Mi visión board no lo muestro en este vídeo porque aún no estaba finalizado para cuando realicé estas tomas, pero si quieres ver qué tal quedó puedes pasearte por esta publicación. El resto de las páginas corresponden a un par de colecciones y, este es precisamente el punto que quería mencionar en esta publicación: ¿qué son las colecciones en el Bullet Journal?

Las colecciones no son más que un espacio destinado a escribir una información relevante de un mismo tema del cual queremos o necesitamos llevar un registro detallado y separado del resto de nuestra información diaria. A veces tenemos uno o más temas que se repiten con cierta frecuencia y que terminamos distribuyendo aleatoriamente en toda la agenda. Esto nos origina un cierto descontrol y nos dificulta encontrar cierta información cuando la necesitamos, es por ello que las colecciones resultan sumamente útiles al agrupar toda la información de un mismo tema en las mismas páginas.

This planner has a couple of lined index pages at the beginning, but I didn't really want to leave that much space so I wanted to start from those same pages. Before planning for the month of January, I wanted to set up my BuJo with some preliminary pages that would be useful and motivating throughout the year. In these initial pages you can visualize a simple cover page of 2024, a page that I destined to write a motivational message that I can read at any time to raise my spirits, a Vision Board with my goals and objectives for this year and annual calendar (future log). My vision board is not shown in this video because it wasn't finished when I took these shots, but if you want to see how it looked you can take a look at this post. The rest of the pages correspond to a couple of collections, and this is precisely the point I wanted to make in this post: what are collections in Bullet Journal?.

Collections are nothing more than a space destined to write relevant information on a single topic that we want or need to keep a detailed record of and separate from the rest of our daily information. Sometimes we have one or more topics that are repeated with certain frequency and that we end up distributing randomly throughout the agenda. This causes us a certain lack of control and makes it difficult for us to find certain information when we need it, that is why collections are extremely useful to group all the information of the same topic in the same pages.

Mis Colecciones

My Collections

Existen colecciones de todo tipo y que pueden variar según nuestras preferencias. En mi caso, yo inicié con mi agenda realizando varias colecciones anuales, algunas de ellas son bastante útiles mientras que otras son más dedicadas al ocio. Una de las colecciones útiles que configuré en mi agenda fue el Registro Futuro o Future Log que no es más que el calendario de todo el año con algunos cuantos renglones que nos servirán para programar cualquier evento en los próximos meses o bien programar cosas que se desean realizar en una fecha concreta. Por ejemplo, si nos encontramos en el mes de Enero y ya tenemos asignada una consulta médica para el mes de Marzo, aun no tendremos un espacio en donde anotar este evento pues todavía no realizamos la planificación mensual de Marzo. Es aquí donde el Registro Futuro será de nuestra ayuda, permitiéndonos dejar un registro de ese evento o tareas que van a suceder a largo plazo. Incluso también podemos apuntar objetivos o metas para cumplir en un mes específico.

Otra colección bastante útil para nosotras las chicas es la correspondiente a el período. Antes tenía la costumbre de apuntar toda esta información en la planificación de cada mes, pero luego me di cuenta de que realizando una colección anual era mucho más sencillo llevar un control. La tercera colección importante es la titulada: "La última vez que...", la cual me funciona para anotar la fecha en que realicé algo que para mí es importante, como por ejemplo: cuándo fue la última vez que corté mi cabello o que limpié a profundidad mi habitación. Esto es a modo de recordatorio para simplemente no descuidar ciertos aspectos de mi vida que a veces termino pasando por alto debido a tantas cosas que debo hacer en mi día a día.

There are collections of all kinds and they can vary according to our preferences. In my case, I started with my agenda making several yearly collections, some of them are quite useful while others are more dedicated to leisure. One of the useful collections that I configured in my agenda was the Future Log which is nothing more than the calendar for the whole year with a few lines that will help us to schedule any event in the coming months or schedule things that we want to do on a specific date. For example, if we are in the month of January and we have already assigned a medical consultation for the month of March, we will not yet have a space where to write down this event because we have not yet made the monthly planning for March. It is here where the Future Record will be of help, allowing us to leave a record of that event or tasks that are going to happen in the long term. We can even write down objectives or goals to accomplish in a specific month.

Another very useful collection for us girls is the one corresponding to the period. Before I used to write down all this information in the planning of each month, but then I realized that making an annual collection was much easier to keep track. The third important collection is the one titled: "The last time that... ", which works for me to write down the date when I did something that is important to me, such as: when was the last time I cut my hair or deep cleaned my room. This is as a reminder so that I don't neglect certain aspects of my life that I sometimes end up overlooking due to so many things I have to do in my day to day life.

Mi tercera colección importante es la relacionada a la alimentación saludable. Prefería realizar una colección anual de este tema porque se me hacía un poco tedioso realizarlo cada mes. Aquí simplemente registro los días de cada mes que estuvieron libres de azúcar o que consumí demasiada comida chatarra, lo cual me sirve para darme cuenta de qué rayos estoy haciendo con mi vida (ja, ja, ja). Las dos últimas colecciones corresponden quizás a cosas no tan útiles y que más bien funcionan como un recordatorio de buenos momentos. Una de ellas es la colección musical, en donde pretendo asignar una canción a cada mes del año. Puede ser una canción que me haya gustado mucho y que la reproduje cientos de veces o incluso una canción nueva que me recomendaron o que descubrí por mi cuenta. Por último, dediqué dos páginas a una última colección: mi año en fotografías. Todos nosotros estamos llenos de recuerdos que, ahora con la tecnología, podemos fácilmente congelar en una fotografía, así que por cada mes del año elegiré un fotografía de algún momento importante o especial y la pegaré en estas páginas. Al finalizar el año tendré un bonito recuento de momentos especiales en mi agenda.

Esta, amigos, ha sido la configuración anual para mi Bullet Journal durante el año 2024. Todas estas páginas con colecciones son sólo algunas ideas, pues les recuerdo que esto es totalmente ajustable a nuestros gustos e intereses. Durante este año volveré a tocar a profundidad el tema de las colecciones en el Bullet Journal y compartiré muchas más ideas inspiradoras y útiles. Mientras tanto, en los próximos días, les compartiré el *primer Bullet Journal Inspiración del 2024 que, en pocas palabras, vendría siendo mi planificación para el mes de Enero.

My third important collection is the one related to healthy eating. I preferred to do a yearly collection on this topic because it was getting a bit tedious to do it every month. Here I simply record the days of each month that were sugar-free or that I consumed too much junk food, which helps me realize what the heck am I doing with my life (ha, ha, ha). The last two collections are perhaps not so useful and function more as a reminder of good times. One of them is the music collection, where I intend to assign a song to each month of the year. It can be a song that I really liked and that I played hundreds of times or even a new song that was recommended to me or that I discovered on my own. Finally, I devoted two pages to one last collection: my year in photographs. All of us are full of memories that, now with technology, we can easily freeze in a photograph, so for each month of the year I will choose a photograph of some important or special moment and paste it on these pages. At the end of the year I will have a nice tally of special moments in my diary.

This, friends, has been the annual configuration for my Bullet Journal during the year 2024. All these pages with collections are just a few ideas, as I remind you that this is totally adjustable to our tastes and interests. During this year I will return to the topic of collections in the Bullet Journal in depth and will share many more inspiring and useful ideas. In the meantime, in the next few days, I will share with you the first Bullet Journal Inspiration of 2024 which, in a few words, would be my planning for the month of January.

¿Un lugar para tomar café desde donde puedas disfrutar de una increíble vista de Caracas? ¡Te lo tengo!

Ese lugar se llama Bajo El Reloj y se encuentra ubicado en la famosa Torre La Previsa en Plaza Venezuela. Tengo entendido que este lugar ya existía desde hace algunos años sólo que bajo otro nombre y funcionaba más bien como un espacio en donde obtener impresiones y fotocopias. El año pasado fue remodelado para abrir sus puertas al público bajo el concepto por el que es conocido actualmente.

Fui por primera vez el año pasado, en Diciembre para ser más precisa, y en ese momento no me pareció un mal lugar. De hecho el café que probamos estuvo excelente para aquella oportunidad, sin embargo los postres no me convencieron pero aun así quise darle una segunda oportunidad al lugar, regresando de nuevo para probar otras cosas del menú. Claro está que durante el transcurso del año se me atravesaron otras cafeterías interesantes, postergando así mi segunda visita a Bajo El Reloj hasta el pasado mes de Noviembre...casi un año despúes de mi primera visita.

A place to have coffee from where you can enjoy an incredible view of Caracas? I've got it for you!

That place is called Bajo El Reloj and it is located in the famous Torre La Previsa in Plaza Venezuela. I understand that this place already existed some years ago but under a different name and functioned more as a place to get prints and photocopies. Last year it was remodeled to open its doors to the public under the concept for which it is currently known.

I went for the first time last year, in December to be more precise, and at the time it didn't seem like a bad place. In fact the coffee we tasted was excellent for that opportunity, however the desserts did not convince me but I still wanted to give the place a second chance, returning again to try other things on the menu. Of course, during the course of the year other interesting coffee shops crossed my path, thus postponing my second visit to Bajo El Reloj until last November... almost a year after my first visit.

Algo particular que pude notar en mi visita más reciente es que habían retirado algunas opciones del menú, como los cachitos de chocolate, por ejemplo. Eso me decepcionó un poco porque unas de las opciones que llamaban mi atención era esa. En esta oportunidad éramos un grupo grande así que, evidentemente, en nuestra mesa llovieron diferentes opciones que al final compartimos entre todas. Algo que debo admitir es que las porciones de torta son bastante grandes, pero hay algo en el sabor que no termina de convencerme y es como si le faltara más guáramo (como decimos coloquialmente en Venezuela). No te voy a mentir, en Bajo El Reloj los precios son un poco más elevados en comparación a otros lugares del mismo target, además algo que me incomodó un poco es que en los precios del menú no está incluído el IVA y tampoco el 10% del servicio, así que si no te lo comentan antes o te encargas de leer cuidadosamente el menú digital lo más probable es que te lleves una sorpresita al cancelar en caja.

Siendo sincera, si prefieres un lugar en donde poder disfrutar de un excelente café y buena comida, te podría recomendar otros. Sin embargo, si buscas un espacio para disfrutar de una preciosa vista de la ciudad y tomarte algunas fotografías bonitas mientras disfrutas de alguna bebida o comes algo rápido, entonces Bajo El Reloj ahí sí podría llegar a convertirse en una opción. De hecho, la vista es simplemente hermosa pudiendo elegir entre: 1) un panorama directo al Cerro El Ávila, 2) una perspectiva más citadina con edificios y personas que parecen hormiguitas transitando por el Boulevard de Sabana Grande o 3) una panorámica de la Ciudad Universitaria con parte de la Autopista Francisco Fajardo. Considerando que es uno de los pocos espacios en donde puedes disfrutar de la ciudad desde las altuyras, volvería a ir sólo para observar un atardecer caraqueño o recargarme de buenas vibras con esa vista majestuosa de El Ávila.

One particular thing I noticed on my most recent visit was that they had removed some items from the menu, like the chocolate chips, for example. I was a little disappointed because that was one of the options that caught my attention. This time we were a large group so, evidently, our table was showered with different options that in the end we all shared. Something I must admit is that the cake portions are quite big, but there is something about the taste that doesn't convince me and it's as if it lacked more guáramo (as we say colloquially in Venezuela). I'm not going to lie to you, in Bajo El Reloj the prices are a little higher compared to other places of the same target, also something that bothered me a little is that the menu prices do not include VAT and 10% service charge, so if they don't tell you before or you take care to read carefully the digital menu you will most likely get a little surprise when you cancel at the cash register.

To be honest, if you prefer a place where you can enjoy an excellent coffee and good food, I could recommend others. However, if you are looking for a place to enjoy a beautiful view of the city and take some nice pictures while enjoying a drink or a quick bite to eat, then Bajo El Reloj could become an option. In fact, the view is simply beautiful and you can choose between: 1) a direct panorama of El Ávila Hill, 2) a more city perspective with buildings and people that look like little ants walking along the Sabana Grande Boulevard or 3) a panoramic view of the University City with part of the Francisco Fajardo Highway. Considering that it is one of the few places where you can enjoy the city from the heights, I would go again just to watch a Caracas sunset or recharge myself with good vibes with that majestic view of El Avila.

Les tengo que confesar que mis momentos de mayor inspiración son aquellos cuando voy sentada en el transporte público observando por la ventana. No importa si el señor de la camionetica (bus) coloca su mejor salsa de baúl a todo volumen y el señor colector del pasaje va gritando a todo pulmón la vía que toma el bus para lograr captar más pasajeros. Yo sólo me centro en observar el trayecto, observar la ciudad, observar a la gente pasar y es así como termino creando historias en mi cabeza o simplemente las ideas terminan floreciendo.

Ok, sí, tienen razón...¡eso no tiene nada que ver con mi recap de Noviembre!, pero si detallan este short se darán cuenta de que mi momento de "obtención de inspiración" está captado en la primera toma. Cuando revisé mi teléfono hace algunos días, me di cuenta de que no había tomado demasiadas fotografías este mes y tampoco había grabado demasiados momentos. Es como si Noviembre hubiese pasado tan rápido que no me dio casi tiempo de absolutamente nada.

Lo cierto es que los pocos momentos geniales que viví y compartí condensaron muchas emociones bonitas. Quizás aquí es todo aquella frase de: "es mejor la calidad que la cantidad" toma mucha relevancia.

I have to confess that my moments of greatest inspiration are those when I'm sitting in public transportation looking out the window. It doesn't matter if the bus driver plays his best "trunk sauce" at full volume and the bus collector is shouting at the top of his lungs the route the bus is taking to get more passengers. I just focus on watching the ride, watching the city, watching the people passing by and that's how I end up creating stories in my head or simply the ideas end up flowering.

Ok, yes, you're right...that has nothing to do with my November recap!!!, but if you detail this short you'll notice that my "getting inspired" moment is captured in the first shot. When I checked my phone a few days ago, I realized that I hadn't taken too many pictures this month, and I hadn't recorded too many moments either. It's as if November went by so fast that I had almost no time for anything at all.

The truth is that the few great moments I lived and shared condensed a lot of beautiful emotions. Maybe here it is all that phrase of: "quality is better than quantity" takes much relevance.

Cuando visité por primera vez la feria del Centro Comercial Sambil La Candelaria en Caracas quedé maravillada con lo diferente que lucía en comparación a las ferias de comida de otros centros comerciales. Es más, en el Sambil La Candelaria la feria de comida ni siquiera se llama "feria", sino se llama: Zona Gourmet, un nombre que sin duda es mucho más llamativo.

Esta Zona Gourmet me agrada mucho por su decoración, pues en otros centros comerciales la zona de comida ni siquiera posee un detalle en su decoración. En la Zona Gourmet hay algunos sillones minimalistas, plantas ornamentales y uns lindas esferas de colores que se encargan de decorar el techo. Además, la mayoría de los locales de comida en su interior poseen un toque en su decoración que marca la diferencia en comparación a sus demás sedes en otras ferias de comida.

Pero ok, hoy no he venido a comentarles únicamente acerca de la decoración, sino más bien en este vídeo les comparto un recorrido por toda la Zona Gourmet, detallando las diferentes opciones que existen aquí para poder comer. La opción que más se repite en esta feria de comida se trata de hamburguesas, de hecho hay varios locales en donde se puede degustar una hamburguesa deliciosa pero todo depende de lo que estemos buscando, pues hay para quienes prefieren algo estilo gourmet y también para quienes prefieren una hamburguesa más al estilo street food.

Algo que me gusta de esta Zona Gourmet es que varios de los locales que podemos encontrar no poseen sedes en otros centros comerciales frecuentados. Un ejemplo de esto es Asia Gourmet Bakery, cuya sede principal se ha encontrado ubicada desde hace mucho tiempo en el Club Social Chino en la Avenida Pricipal del Bosque, por lo que poder encontrar una sede en un lugar mucho más céntrico es un plus bastante grande.

Y si hablamos de un conteo de opciones favoritas en la Zona Gourmet, entonces, te recomiendo los siguientes:

• Si quieres probar un buen sushi: Beijing Sushi es el indicado. Tanto en calidad de sabor como en proporciones creéme que no te decepcionará.
• Para postres y café, aquí sí te tengo dos en particular: Zaituna Café en donde puedes comerte una deliciosa cheesecake acompañado de un Latte Miel. Mr. Golfeado, porque aquí los postres son increíblemente frescos, de hecho la Torta de Zanahoria es yun 10/10.
• ¿Pollo y Hamburguesas? ¡Chicken Box! las hamburguesas son excelentes, además de que es uno de los pocos lugares en toda la feria en donde puede comerse algo un poco más saludable, pues tienen en el menú opciones de pechuga a la plancha con ensalada y yuca, por ejemplo.

Cuéntame, ¿has visitado la Zona Gourmet del Sambil La Candelaria? ¿cuál de todas las opciones es tu favorita?

Ustedes no saben desde hace cuanto tiempo quería hacer un episodio de mi serie "Un Café con Mary" dedicado a Zaituna Café. Ya en un par de ocasiones les he comentado un poco acerca de este lugar que se ha convertido en uno de mis favoritos de la Ciudad, pero aún no había llegado el momento de compartirles un videíto para mostrarles un poco más de sus instalaciones. Además, para ser sincera, quise esperarme a probar algunas cositas más del menú para poder hablar con total propiedad.

Zaituna Café tiene varias sucursales en la Ciudad de Caracas. Una de ellas se encuentra en el Centro Comercial Sambil Chacao, mientras que en el Centro Comercial Sambil La Candelaria se hallan dos: una en la planta baja y otra en la Zona Gourmet. Estas sedes se caracterizan por ser pequeñas y, de hecho, el menú es un poco limitado (no brindan todas las opciones de cheesecake del menú y tampoco algunas opciones saladas, como las quiche) y los precios varían un poco con relación a la sede principal.

You don't know how long I've wanted to do an episode of my series "Un Café con Mary" dedicated to Zaituna Café. On a couple of occasions I have already told you a little about this place that has become one of my favorites in the city, but the time had not yet come to share with you a little video to show you a little more of its facilities. Besides, to be honest, I wanted to wait to try a few more things from the menu to be able to speak with total propriety.

Zaituna Café has several branches in the city of Caracas. One of them is located in the Sambil Chacao Shopping Mall, while in the Sambil La Candelaria Shopping Mall there are two: one on the first floor and the other one in the Gourmet Zone. These locations are characterized by being small and, in fact, the menu is a bit limited (they do not offer all the cheesecake options on the menu and some savory options, such as quiche) and the prices vary a bit in relation to the main location.

La sede más grande de Zaituna Café, la principal de hecho, se encuentra ubicada en la 4ta Avenida con 3era Transversal de Los Palos Grandes y, a pesar de que conserva la misma estética que las otras tres sucursales, esta posee un mayor encanto. Algo curioso que encontré en una nota periodística sobre este lugar, es que el nombre hace alusión al longevo árbol de Olivo...con esto, la paleta de colores que caracteriza a este lugar cobra sentido por completo.

Algo curioso, pero esto ya es un poco más personal, es que de las tantas veces que había ido a Zaituna nunca había optado por probar alguno de los postres. Siempre terminaba yendo simplemente por un café o a probar alguno de los paninis. Así que hasta el momento, en cuanto a opciones dulces, solo he probado la galleta de avena y el cheesecake de pirulín. Debo admitir que este cheesecake no fue mi opción preferida, pero ese día que visité la sede más reciente no había tanta variedad. Aún así hay otras opciones de cheesecakes y marquesas que me llaman mucho la atención visualmente y que no creo que de sabor causen decepción, digamos que las tengo en la mira para una próxima oportunidad que visite Zaituna...y que posiblemente sea muy pronto.

Zaituna me encanta. Tiene ese toque aesthetic-minimalista de esas fotografías que guardo en mis tableros de Pinterest y, de verdad, lo disfruto. Me encanta que en Caracas pueda encontrar lugares de este estilo: bonitos, tranquilos y donde la comida es un 10/10.

The largest branch of Zaituna Café, the main one in fact, is located on 4ta Avenida with 3era Transversal in Los Palos Grandes and, although it retains the same aesthetics as the other three branches, this one has a greater charm. Something curious that I found in a newspaper article about this place, is that the name refers to the long-lived olive tree... with this, the color palette that characterizes this place makes complete sense.

Something curious, but this is a bit more personal, is that of the many times I had been to Zaituna I had never opted to try any of the desserts. I always ended up simply going for a coffee or to try one of the paninis. So so far, in terms of sweet options, I have only tried the oatmeal cookie and the lollipop cheesecake. I must admit that this cheesecake was not my favorite option, but that day I visited the most recent location there wasn't that much variety. Even so, there are other options of cheesecakes and marquesas that catch my attention visually and that I don't think will cause disappointment in taste, let's just say that I have them in my sights for the next time I visit Zaituna...and that may be very soon.

I love Zaituna. It has that aesthetic-minimalist touch of those photographs that I save on my Pinterest boards and I really enjoy it. I love that in Caracas I can find places like this: beautiful, quiet and where the food is a 10/10.
