The theme for the week says "The children". Actually, the theme caught my attention that is why I decided to participate. Children are free gifts from the Lord, we can't buy them. They are wonderful creatures, so amazing and adorable 😍. They don't hide their emotions or keep grudges. They make friends easily, fight easily and also settle easily.

The transition of children's growth is amazing, especially the ones in this generation, they grow rapidly both in stature and in intelligence.
I will not forget to mention they can also scatter and spoil things in the house 😂.

To celebrate my children and others all over the world, I decided to sing two of the songs they usually sing in their church Sunday schools, they are children's hymns.

On this edition, I went into the archives to fetch a beautiful Hausa song I have known since my junior secondary school days. It is titled "Gunaguni"by Ernest Dades. Gunaguni means grumbling or complaining in English language. The song writer says someone is grumbling while someone is in the grave.

When one does not have a heart of gratitude, it won't be hard to complain. God is doing a whole lot to keep us moving but not everyone sees this. Whenever we want to complain unnecessarily let us remember that our mates, juniors and seniors are in the grave.

Afri-tunes is one platform I've always been excited to be part of to share African music. So, today as a way of resuming from my long break, I decided to do the cover of a song by Gabriel Eziashi and Henrisoul. It is titled "Emmanuel". Ordinarily I had no plans to present this week or even soon because I've been busy and my morale for recording videos is low at the moment. But seeing the theme and some amazing entries from @megamo and @oluthomas 😁 I charged up to do something little.

So, I remembered this old song in Eggon language titled "akpo agbu ari agbu" meaning na who sabi work go chop 🤗. Eggon is a language from Nasarawa State, Nigeria. The song is usually used when there is farm work or any labour to be done. It is an encouragement to the hard workers to keep it up because you have to work before you can eat. It is also a warning to the lazy ones that whoever does not work will put his hands on his cheeks when others are enjoying their harvests with food and drinks.

Women also sing it when grinding on stone or doing group pounding and sieving of grains. It is an interesting song specifically dedicated to @ovey10 😀. I see the efforts he is really putting into hive , may his work pay for him.

On this edition, I will be presenting the cover of a song by Victoria Orenze, one of my favorite gospel music stars. She has released quite a number of songs recently but I will visit one of her early songs titled "Covenant keeping God". The song has been a powerful worship overtime. God is the only one we can bank on to make a covenant and keep to it. Many times people make covenants and even forget, for those who remember they might procrastinate it's fulfillment.

On this edition, I went into my archive to check one of the songs we sang during my highschool days in church. I can't really say who composed it. I just knew my elder brother used to play it on his radio. The title of the song is "I found Him". It is a sweet and simple song about finding Jesus.

The title of the song is "Burga" which means to bubble. From the theme ring the bell, there are different bells one can ring. It can be the bell of achievements, success, promotion, fame or anything. Today in my interpretation, I want to ring the bell of the name of Jesus. The song says I will bubble and bounce in the name of Jesus because right from childhood that is the name my mother has been calling and things have been working.

Generally, the name of Jesus is a strong tower according to the Bible where the righteous run to and are saved. The name is the highest name in heaven and on earth and at the mention of the name every knee bows and tongue confess that He is the Lord. When the name is mentioned, the whole world can testify that someone has been mentioned. Those who identify with the name are not put to shame in times of trouble. In my style of music, hip-hop is one of the favorites. I am partly a calm person but I like music grooves 🤗.

This week we are looking at the theme "the mountain". I will be singing the cover of a hymn from the hymnal titled "I'm pressing on the upward way". I believe mountain is a relative term, it means different things to different people. In my interpretation for the week, mountain is seen as the top where good things abound. It is God's desire that we enjoy the goodness of life, but most times the enjoyment does not just come until you rise up to responsibilities and work. Our blessings easily flow through the work we do.

We are meant for the mountain not the valley. May God grant us the grace to keep climbing until we get to the top.

The theme for the week is "Holy Spirit". When I saw the theme, I was very happy because there are many songs that can easily fit to the person of the Holy Spirit. He is the third person of the Trinity and the comforter.

So, I chose this beautiful old and popular song by Bob Fitts titled "You are my all in all". I can't think of any better description of who the Holy Spirit is than to say He is my all in all. If you are looking for a friend, He is the best to have, so loving and caring. He listens whenever we talk to Him and He responds to our plight.

On this edition, I chose to present one of the songs that have been ringing on my mind recently by Moses Akoh. It is titled "Volume of the Book". Interestingly, I've never presented any song by this artist before, but I suddenly developed interest on this particular one recently. Maybe it is because of the depth of it's ministration to me personally.

Many times there are beautiful plans that God has in stock for us his children, and sometimes we know those plans but to work according to them could be challenging. I learnt that there is a level of grace you need faith to access. For you to achieve the plans and purposes of God written concerning you, you need the faith to access energy to keep moving no matter the distractions and burdens trying to weigh you down.

The song is a strong declaration of a decision to do the will of God. Charge your faith and let us ride together.

The theme is "the last time".
When I saw the theme, it took me a little while to find a song that will align. I kept thinking and calculating until I finally landed on this Hausa Language from Nigeria. It's a long time song by a lady, I have no idea of her name. It is titled "Lokaci fa yayi', which means it is time. The summary of the meaning of the song is - it is time to wake up from our sleep, wake up believers let's work so that God can be happy with us. For he has prepared crowns for the faithful ones, but the lazy ones will be destroyed.
