Este fin de semana fuimos a atender una parte de la manada de perros comunitarios protegidos por Poly, una amante y protectora de animales en Puerto Ordaz.

El Médico veterinario realizó la evualuación, desparasitación y vacunación de sus animales, en este video de 2 minutos te muestro un poco de lo ocurrido.

Dentro de poco tendremos otra jornada de aproximadamente 80 animales ya que se estará realizando en 13 paises de américa latina la jornada denominada CASTRALAT donde simultaneamente en todos estos países se realizan jornadas de esterilización, siendo Venezuela el país con mayor antidad de animales esterilizados en un solo día.

Es mi responsabilidad coordinar las del estado Bolívar en coordinación con el equipo nacional e internacional, ya quedan pocos días y podriamos decir que esto fue una practica para ese día.

This week that has just ended, I dedicated myself with my work team to carry out a modest and small sterilization campaign of animals, many of them community, homeless, the idea of this is to promote sterilization as the only ethical measure of population control.

Soon we will have another day of approximately 80 animals since the day called CASTRALAT will be carried out in 13 countries of Latin America where simultaneously in all these countries sterilization days are carried out, being Venezuela the country with the largest number of animals sterilized in a single day.

Parte de mi ausencia estos meses se ha debido a que estoy avanzando en mis estudios de producción audiovisual y el trabajo tambien consume buen parte de mi tiempo, hoy, terminando un nuevo semestre quiero compartirles una pequeña producción audiovisual que realicé para un concurso que finaliza dentro de una semana, pues, el Diario El Luchador, un medio impreso de Ciudad Bolívar proposp este concurso en el que tienen varias reglas:

• Tema: Evolución de los Medios Impresos en Ciudad Bolívar
• El video no debe tener mas de 2 minutos

El segundo punto fue el mas frustrante porque en mi investigación logré obtener buenos testimonios e imagenes pero tuve que reducir el material para cumplir con la norma de los 2 minutos.

Part of my absence these past few months has been due to the fact that I'm advancing in my audiovisual production studies, and work also takes up a good portion of my time. Today, as I finish a new semester, I want to share with you a small audiovisual production I made for a contest that ends in a week. The newspaper El Luchador, a print media outlet in Ciudad Bolívar, is proposing this contest, which has several rules:

• Topic: Evolution of Print Media in Ciudad Bolívar
• The video must be no longer than 2 minutes

The second point was the most frustrating because in my research, I managed to obtain good testimonials and images, but I had to reduce the material to comply with the 2-minute rule.

Este ultimo par de días logramos dar en adopción 2 perritos que habian sido abandonados, dos adopciones que esperamos que sean exitosas, además fuimos a buscar a Brando, un perro comunitario que fue rescatado y atendido temporalmente por sus vecinos, aunque estos no tenian las condiciones más optimas, se aprecia el esfuerzl e interés en ayudar.

A Brando lo llevamos a un hogar de resguardo temporal donde estamos seguros que mejorará y con la atención veterinaria que necesita, los invito a todos a disfrutar de este pequeño video resumen.

##Contexto

Estoy estudiando Comunicación Social y como asignación, un profesor nos orientó realizar un video cubriendo una "noticia", apenas voy por el 2do año y falta todavía camino y cosas por corregir y aprender.

Ya el profesor evaluó la asignación y me dió sus observaciones de cosas que debo mejorar, (el video está lejos de ser perfecto) pero me gustaría saber que opinan ustedes, no se trata de solo decir "que bueno, que bonito", aunque se aprecian los buenos comentarios, pienso que la forma de aprender y mejorar es recibir criticas constructivas.

Tips:

• Podrías ayudarme escuchando detenidamente el discurso y dandome alguna idea de como mejorar o hablar mejor.
• Podrías analizar los planos y encuadres y proponer que podría mejorar.
• Cualquier cosa que creas que no esté presente en el video.

Me siento psicologicamente preparado para leer sus comentarios ya que además no tengo problemas de autoestima pero si ganas de aprender y mejorar todo lo que deba mejorar.

Hace dos días realicé la liberación de los gatitos y ayer y hoy he ido a monitorearlos y se encuentran en excelente estado, me llena de entusiasmo poder ayudar de esta manera y trato de evitar leer los comentarios de personas que solo critican que no los adopto, pero me siento conforme ayudandolos a esterilizar.

A few days ago, I participated in a free animal spay/neuter program I organized. More than 100 animals were spayed and neutered during this activity. But my favorite part is that I went with some friends to capture eight community cats and take them to be spayed and neutered. While I won't be able to keep and adopt them, I can help by taking them to be spayed and taking care of their postoperative care.

Two days ago, I released the kittens, and yesterday and today I went to monitor them, and they are in excellent condition. I'm excited to be able to help in this way, and I try to avoid reading comments from people who only criticize me for not adopting them, but I feel comfortable helping them get spayed and neutered.

Este día del gato me fui hasta Puerto Ordaz para atender un refugio de un señor que voluntariamente convirtió su casa en un albergue para gatos, en ese lugar tiene mas de 40 gatos que ha rescatado y que están bien atendidos.

En la actividad nos acompañó un medico veterinario llamado Juan Bastardo y un grupo de estudiantes de Ingeniería Industrial de la UNEG que están realizando su servicio comunitario.

A los más de 40 gatos que hay alli, se les aplicó vacunación, desparasitación, vitaminas y su consulta veterinaria de forma totalmente gratuita. Este tipo de refugios suelen ser secretos, es decir, no se publica la dirección exacta porque las personas con malas intenciones se dedicarían a abandonar animales en ese sitio, por eso le pedimos a cada participante mantener la ubicación en secreto, en caso de promover la adopción se realiza en jornadas lejos del lugar.

En muchas partes del mundo existen personas que han convertido su casa en un lugar seguro para los animales, pero lo mas importante es que hay que ayudarlos a mantenerse dentro de lo higienico, de nada sirve tenerlos hacinados y en malas condiciones, en este caso este refugio está en optimas condiciones, espero de todo corazon que estos gatitos pronto consigan hogar.

This Cat Day I went to Puerto Ordaz to attend a shelter owned by a man who voluntarily turned his house into a cat shelter. There he has more than 40 cats that he has rescued and that are well cared for.

A veterinarian named Juan Bastardo and a group of Industrial Engineering students from UNEG who are doing their community service accompanied us in the activity.

The more than 40 cats there were vaccinated, dewormed, given vitamins and received a veterinary consultation free of charge. These types of shelters are usually secret, meaning that the exact address is not published because people with bad intentions would abandon animals there, so we ask each participant to keep the location secret. In the case of promoting adoption, it is done on days far from the place.

In many parts of the world there are people who have turned their homes into safe places for animals, but the most important thing is to help them stay hygienic. There is no point in keeping them crowded and in poor conditions. In this case, this shelter is in optimal conditions. I hope with all my heart that these kittens soon find a home.

Al llegar improvisamos un área de trabajo, ya sabiamos que se iba a hacer de noche pronto, lo bueno de todo esto es que el procedimiento salió espectacular y los 4 perros quedaron sin púas, no logré grabar mucho pero les comparto aquí algunas pocas imagenes que logré capturar.

This Tuesday, February 12, I was surprised with the news that 4 dogs tried to attack a porcupine and it turns out that they were injured and had many quills in their snouts. This happened in Ciudad Bolívar. Since I had just arrived from a trip, I decided to go home first and rest a little. Then I asked the veterinarian and 2 volunteers to accompany me to take care of the dogs and try to help them.

When we arrived, we improvised a work area. We already knew that it was going to get dark soon. The good thing about all this is that the procedure went spectacularly and the 4 dogs were left without quills. I was not able to record much, but I am sharing with you here a few images that I managed to capture.

Context:

For a few years now, my closest friends and I have referred to "perrear" as "going out to rescue some little animal," perhaps there is no English translation that is coherent with what is understood in Spanish.

For 11 years I have been dedicated to carrying out activities that have the purpose of rescuing or helping some little animal, such as today when I accompanied Carlos and Mrs. Cecia to carry out the rescue of some puppies and an adult dog that will soon be ready for adoption.
We took the opportunity to talk with Carlos about his experience at Fundayanim (his animal protection foundation in Ciudad Bolívar, Venezuela).

La visita fue al Centro Total de Entretenimiento Cachamay en el que estuve por poco mas de 3 horas en una reunión de trabajo, en ocasiones anteriores he estado de visita y siempre es algo digno de contemplar.

This week I visited Puerto Ordaz and took the opportunity to try out the new recording base I bought for my phone that allows you to record the route traveled both in the city and on the highway, very useful for showing some aspects of the route taken.

The visit was to the Cachamay Total Entertainment Center where I spent just over 3 hours at a work meeting. I have visited there on previous occasions and it is always something worth seeing.
