Stormy Rain

When it rains, my lifestyle changes. I tend to stay home because life outside is chaos. Despite the comfort the rain brings us, everything changes: transportation doesn't work. The subway is jammed, and most people's mood changes. I, on the contrary, love the rain. When I'm outside, getting wet is a blessing to me; in that moment, I walk as slowly as possible to feel that bath of pure water running through my entire being.

Cuando llueve, mi estilo de vida cambia, suelo quedarme en casa porque la vida afuera es un caos. A pesar del bienestar que nos produce la lluvia, todo se transforma: el transporte no funciona. El metro se colapsa, y la mayoría de las personas cambian de ánimo. Yo, al contrario, me encanta la lluvia. Cuando estoy en la calle, mojarme para mí, es una bendición; en ese instante camino lo más lenta posible para sentir ese baño de agua pura, que corre por todo mi ser.

I can eat ice cream or drink a hot coffee, if I take advantage of the moment to enjoy a good movie, since those are moments of relaxation for me, and I dive into my couch to watch episodes of my favorite series.

This time, I didn't want to be under it, as it was torrential rain, thunder rumbling, and lightning illuminating everything. The awning on my balcony, in hurricane-force winds, felt like it would tear off and fly away at any moment. Water began to trickle down the balcony and into the dining room.

Pero hace un par de días, todo cambio, el país fue azotado por la onda tropical 38, que nos sacudió un poco. Me encontraba en casa y comenzó a llover, esta vez no deseé estar bajo ella, ya que fue una lluvia torrencial, los truenos retumban y los relámpagos iluminan todo. I couldn't open the window because the breeze blew through it, so, with a bit of calm, I managed to collect the water that entered through the window. In those moments, I realized that only the warmth of home provided me with shelter and security from the rain that came, with its lightning strikes, causing flooding, swollen rivers and ravines, and the collapse of some homes. Thankfully, it gradually subsided.

No podía abrir el ventanal porque la brisa te llevaba, así que, con un poco de calma, logré recoger el agua que entraba por debajo del ventanal. En esos momentos, me di cuenta de que solo la calidez del hogar me brindó el refugio y la seguridad, ante esa lluvia que llegó, con descargas eléctricas, que causó inundaciones, crecidas de ríos y quebradas y derrumbes de algunas viviendas. This time my mood was altered because I hadn't expected the rain to be so heavy. Una Inspiración De Colores

Un día con colores y crear, hace día estaba recolectando todos los frascos de pintura de uña que no sirven porque se ponen espesas, muy rápido y no me gusta utilizarlas cuando están en ese estado. Algunas veces les coloco disolvente, pero igualmente se secan. Entonces, cuando decidí arrogarlas a la basura, recordé que hace mucho tiempo, yo las reutilizaba pintando cuadros y quise rememorar esos viejos tiempos. De esta manera las reciclo, para crear una obra de arte.

For me to paint I have to be in moments of leisure, it is my way of inspiration and ideas come to me, I immediately grabbed a sheet of my blog, a stick and arranged the paints, if I have a sketch I outline it with paint, this time I was so excited that I gave free rein to my utopia, I begin to empty the colors alternating one with the other, I look for a mixture to harmonize the strong colors with the lighter ones. Blue, for example, I like very much. I tried as much as possible not to mix it and in that good time I spent outlining my painting was, thinking that the side placed it.

Para yo pintar tengo que estar en momentos de ocio, es mi forma de inspiración y me van llegando las ideas, de inmediato agarre un pliego de mi blog, un palito y dispuse de las pinturas, si tengo un boceto lo delineo con la pintura, en esta ocasión estaba tan emocionada que le di riendas sueltas a mi utopía, comienzo a vaciar los colores alternando uno con otros, busco una mezcla para armonizar los colores fuertes con los más claros. El azul, por ejemplo, me gusta mucho. Traté en lo posible de no mezclarlo y en ese buen rato que pasé perfilando mi pintura estaba, pensando en que la lado lo colocaba.

For this technique I always create an abstract painting, an artistic expression that has no forms, that connects me with the colors and they inspire me, however, I concentrate so much that the dripping of the paint has to be the way I direct it to give me a form that I want to come out, which is complicated for me to explain.

Para esta técnica siempre creo una pintura abstracta, una expresión artística que no tiene formas, que me conecta con los colores y me inspiran, sin embargo, me concentro tanto que el goteo de la pintura tiene que ser de la forma como yo la dirija que me dé una forma que yo quiera que salga, que es complicado para mí explicarlo.

In this type of painting the figures are not defined. Today I leave them to the interpretation and imagination of each art lover. In it the mind of the viewer can fly and discover infinite forms that are hidden and unveil their own concept of the work.

En este tipo de pintura las figuras que no están definidas. Hoy se las dejo a la interpretación e imaginación de cada amante del arte. En ella la mente del espectador puede volar y descubrir infinitas formas que se encuentran escondidas y develar su propio concepto de la obra.

Hola amigos, un saludo a todos, esperando que se encuentren muy bien. Hoy traigo unos pastelitos rellenos con jamón de pollo. La particularidad de estos pastelitos es que son horneados. Su receta es muy sencilla de preparar y se cocina muy rápido. Los preparé para un desayuno espectacular, sin embargo, cualquier ocasión es buena para disfrutarlos.

Quedaron muy suaves y sabrosos por dentro, y el jamón que utilicé le dio un sabor como de jamón ahumado. Tenía en mente era preparar unos pastelitos con la masa fácil para freírlos, después cambié de idea y quise preparar la masa de pastelitos horneados, la ventaja es que se hacen todos de una vez y no ocupas tanto tiempo en la cocina, como somos pocos en casa, resolví preparar la mitad de la masa y reservé la otra mitad para otra ocasión. Calculo que, con esta receta, salen aproximadamente catorce pastelitos; en esta primera tanda salieron siete. Sin más preámbulos, vamos al procedimiento.

• 100 g sugar

• 50 g butter

No doubt that creating sketches and then emptying colors, releases emotions and inspires us every day more in our art, these days I have returned to resume my mandala painting, after a long break, I'm back with what I love and relaxes me internally, creating a mandala, requires a lot of concentration to see figures emanating from it.

Creando Un Mándala

Sin duda alguna que crear bocetos y luego vaciar colores, no libera emociones y nos inspira cada día más en nuestro arte, en estos días he vuelto a retomar mi pintura de mándalas, después de un largo receso, he vuelto con lo que me apasiona y me relaja internamente, la creación de un, mándala, exige mucha concentración para ver figuras que emanan de él.

Today I am ready with my tools: pencils, drawing paper, an eraser, a compass, colors, a black fine tip marker and my cell phone, which follows the development of the work. The first thing I do is to make a circumference and divide it into the parts I want. When I started, I divided it into four parts and began to fill the circle with lines, so that these lines cover all the white part of the circle.

Hoy estoy dispuesta con mis herramientas: lápices, hoja de dibujo, un borrador, un compás, colores, un marcador punta fina, color negro y mi celular, que sigue el desarrollo de la obra. Lo primero que hago es hacer una circunferencia y la divido en las partes que quiero. Al comenzar, la dividí en cuatro partes y comencé a llenar el círculo de trazos, de manera tal que estas rayas me tapen toda la parte blanca del círculo.

Once I cover all the spaces, I try to concentrate to see figures emerging from the mandala. If I like them, then I stitch the lines of the figures that attracted me. Then with the fine tip marker I highlight those lines and so I have the figure that I am going to paint with colors and erase everything else. Here is the time to divide the circle into more equal parts, if we want. And we return to fill the circle with strokes of lines or circles, to tupir again the circle and get a design that we like. I learned this way of making the mandala from a teacher who taught me how to make mandalas from scratch, with the mesh method.

Una vez que cubro todos los espacios, trato de concentrarme para ver figuras que van brotando del mándala. Si me gustan, entonces voy pespunteando las líneas de las figuras que me atrajeron. Luego con el marcador punta fina voy resaltando esas líneas y así me queda la figura que voy a pintar con colores y borro todo lo demás. Aquí es el momento de dividir el círculo en más partes iguales, si queremos. Y volvemos a rellenar el círculo con trazos de líneas o circunferencias, hasta tupir nuevamente el círculo y conseguir un diseño que nos agrade. Esta forma de realizar el mándala, la aprendí de una profesora que enseñaba a hacer mándalas desde cero, con el método de la malla.

Él mándala se basa en círculos y rayas, cada trazo nos inspira y nos conecta con nuestro yo interior, para dejar fluir esas energías positivas que hacen liberar nuestras emociones, también lo podemos realizar a nuestro criterio, y le vamos agregando figuras a mano alzada, pero todo debe tener una simetría. Para iniciarnos en este mundo de los mándalas es bueno realizarlo en lugares tranquilos, con música de fondo, ya que toda esa atmósfera que nos envuelve, nos relaja y dejan que esas emociones, den riendas sueltas a nuestra imaginación para que nuestra creación sea lo más agradable posible, siendo un puente para la meditación.

Hola amigos de Amazing Drinks, un saludo fraternal, tenía la necesidad de preparar un té, mi hijo desde hace días tiene malestar en la garganta y le cuesta tragar, decidí hacerle una infusión para que lo tome antes de acostarse, resulta que, con la irritación de la garganta, le está causando mucha tos. La combinación de jugos con frutas y vegetales como el pepino, con sus poderes diuréticos, han permitido que mi esposo esté bajando de peso, que su presión arterial se esté manteniendo estable, todo esto acompañado de una dieta balanceada y caminatas constantes. Lo que progresivamente ha sentido mejoría. De manera que aquí, les dejo una fresca agua para disfrutarla, en un almuerzo familiar, para compartir con amigos o sencillamente saciar nuestra sed en esos momentos de mucho calor. • Two pineapples, cut into chunks
• One medium cucumber, cut in slices
• ½ liter of cold water
• Two lemons
• 4 tablespoons of sugar (optional)

Lavar, cortar la piña, el pepino y picar en trozos, el limón en rebanadas

Hola amigos, hoy es un día especial. Felicitaciones a todos los trabajadores del mundo, y espero disfruten de su descanso. En este día tan apacible me levanté con ganas de saborear un rico desayuno. Como buena venezolana, no me puede faltar un cafecito mañanero y una rica arepa rellena con queso y mantequilla bien calentita, unas de las tantas tradiciones que mantenemos en muchos hogares venezolanos desde hace años.

En tiempos pasados, para hacer las arepas se utilizaba el maíz blanco se lavaba muy bien y luego se montaba por horas en una cocina de querosén, que era la que existía en muchos hogares, luego de ablandarse se pasaba por un molino para obtener la masa, y luego, terminábamos amasándola hasta obtener una pasta moldeable. Luego hacíamos nuestras arepas y se montaba en un budare bien caliente, se le daba la vuelta para sellar los lados y dejábamos hasta que se doraban, en la forma de hacerla no ha cambiado mucho.

• 1 ½ cup of water
• 1 ½ cup and a half of flour
• ½ teaspoon of salt.

Hoy, con la tecnología, todo es más fácil y rápido. Existen harinas precocidas que, en sus empaques, ya traen las instrucciones de cómo hacer las arepas. Sin duda podríamos decir que no saben igual, pero igual son ricas, cuando utilizamos el budare, o improvisamos uno exclusivamente para ellas. Para este desayuno les traigo una arepita rellena y acompañada de un negrito.

Ingredientes:

• 1 ½ taza de agua
• 1 ½ taza y media de harina
• ½ cucharadita de sal.

Luego montamos al budare una vez que este caliente, hacemos la arepa tomamos una porción de masa, la cantidad que desees, ya vas haciendo la forma con las palmas de la mano, colocamos en el sartén o budare una vez que se separa del sartén, le damos vuelta, esperamos hasta que dore por los dos lados, retiramos y rellenamos con lo que te guste.
