Hello, everyone! I'm so glad that I am back and I am very much grateful for our friends here who continuously giving their support in spite of my almost four months hiatus. Thank you very much! You people really inspires and you are the one who keep me going. For this, let me share to you my walk along the grounds of Balanga City in Bataan, Philippines, one of the most historical provinces in my country and I went there last September last year to attend the Philippine Blockchain Week abd this will my entry for this week's Wednesday Walk Contest hosted by @tatoodjay. Rain or Shine Let's Do the Walk!

One morning, as I set out to walk from the temporary residence on Engineers' Hill to the Baguio Center mall, it was pouring with rain. My goal was to arrive before the store, which is run by a longtime friend of mine, opened so I could be the first customer of the day and have my phone fixed as soon as possible, allowing me to continue hanging around before taking the bus back home. Because of the uncertain weather, I'm not sure if I'll be able to walk to my goal, but I'm excited to try an experience of some kind.

However the clouds had broken and I could see the blue sky, which makes me very happy, as I arrived at the location of the University of Baguio. Walking farther, I was able to cross the street without any problems and arrive at the section that is situated between the facades of the Goshen Towers and Megatower 4 Residences, the two enormous buildings that are visible for several blocks before Baguio Center Mall. I then proceeded to walk after shooting a few movies, going over several raised walkways till I arrived early at the Baguio Center mall.

I made a video compilation about my walk in Baguio City which started during my spare time when I attended the Digital Nomad Conference last May then when I renewed my NBI clearance in July, I chose the City of Pines to be the venue for doing such as my feet craved for more exploration and I indeed made it albeit it is drizzling at some time. Colors of Life: Orange.... What a Remarkable Find!

One fine morning, I was strolling along a trail when I noticed a fruit that, from a distance, looked to be a citrus. It was orange in hue. I was curious, so I took a moment to examine it more closely. But in the thick of the foliage, I noticed a vine rather than a citrus tree. As my curiosity became intense, I tried to search it on Google using the picture of the orange-colored fruit that I took from my camera, and I found out that the fruit is from a gac plant known by its scientific name, Momordica cochinchinensis, which is related to cucumbers, melons, and squash.

Starting Up the Day In My Workplace

Upon I assume my wotk as a sentry guard this morning, I noticed that there are fallen leaves scattered around my outpost. I immediately picked up the broomstick made from tied coconut midribs and with bamboo handle for a more ergonomic usage to minimize stooping which can cause bad posture. Afterwards I piled the leaves at the base of the tree trunk to enrich the soil. This is my Actifit report card for today and thanks for keeping me in company.

Time to Burn Some Calories to End the Month!

I spent my dayoff for a mountain escape to burn off those exess fats before the month ends. The great outdoors is my usual gym. The only sounds were cheerful birds and chirping crickets – it was pure relaxation, shinrinyuko session, so to speak, it's the Japanese way of forest bathing. Nature's beauty was on full display with colorful wildflowers and even a surprise mushroom patch. Before heading back home, I took a trip down memory lane to the old industrial area where I once worked.

Getting Lost in the City of Pines On a Rainy Evening

After three long days of conferences, I stood on the third floor of 19hundred Work.space, gazing out at the bustling city below. A sudden urge struck me – why not take a different route back to my Engineer's Hill transient house? A little detour through SM City Baguio wouldn't hurt, right? Perhaps I could even grab some pasalubong for the family back home.
Little did I know, that "little detour" would turn into a full-blown adventure. Rain lashed against my face as I hurried down Session Road. The blinding neon lights of Burnham Park were mere blurs through the downpour. The city's usual weekend energy was muted, replaced by the relentless drumming of rain on pavement and the whoosh of cars splashing past. Engineer's Hill, usually a familiar beacon in the distance, seemed to vanish in the rain-streaked cityscape.
Minutes felt like hours as I slogged through the downpour. The sidewalk, usually teeming with life, was eerily deserted. The rhythmic click of my heels on the wet pavement was the only sound that pierced the heavy rain. Streetlights cast an orange glow, blurring the edges of unfamiliar streets branching off from Session Road. A creeping unease began to settle in my stomach. Had I missed the turn for Engineer's Hill?
Taking a deep breath, I found refuge under the awning of a closed shop. The rain showed no signs of letting up, and the deserted street offered no clues. A shiver ran down my spine as a terrifying realization hit me – I was lost. The comforting landmarks of Burnham Park were nowhere to be seen, swallowed by the relentless downpour.
Suddenly, a flicker of movement across the street caught my eye. It was a Victory Liner bus, its red and yellow paint a vivid splash of color against the gray downpour. Remembering a friend's recommendation, I decided to explore the possibility of a quick ride closer to Engineer's Hill. With a newfound sense of purpose, I dashed across the street, dodging puddles and narrowly avoiding oncoming traffic.
The Victory Liner Bus Terminal bustled with activity despite the rain. Passengers huddled under the covered walkways, waiting for their respective buses. The air was thick with the smell of diesel and wet clothes. I approached the information booth, hoping for some guidance. The friendly attendant, her smile a beacon of warmth in the rain-drenched terminal, pointed me in the right direction.
"You can take a jeepney to Sky Ranch," she explained, her voice rising above the cacophony. "It's a bit further up the road, but it offers a beautiful view of the city, especially at night. Maybe the rain will let up by then, and you can enjoy the scenery."
Taking a chance, I hopped on a jeepney bound for Sky Ranch. The ride was bumpy, the windshield wipers struggling to keep up with the relentless downpour. But as we climbed higher, the view of the city sprawled out below, a tapestry of twinkling lights veiled by the rain. It wasn't quite the Engineer's Hill view I was accustomed to, but it held a different kind of charm under the storm clouds.
Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, I reached Sky Ranch. Unfortunately, the rain showed no signs of stopping, and the view from the observation deck was limited. Still, I took a moment to appreciate the unexpected detour. The rain had transformed my familiar route into an adventure, leading me to discover new corners of the city.
With a renewed sense of direction, I hailed another jeepney, this time bound for Engineer's Hill. The ride was quicker this time, and as we descended, I saw the familiar water tower peeking through the clouds. Relief washed over me as I hurried towards the familiar landmark. The rain, no longer an annoyance, became a welcome companion in this unexpected exploration.

It was the first time I was able to have a video of the rain in Manila, and I enjoyed it very much while walking along the street. That was during Philippine Blockchain Week, when I walked my way from the Holiday Inn Express to the Marriott Grand Ballroom. At present, here in my place in Bacnotan, La Union, Philippines, it seems that the rains have forgotten to visit my village, and it's quite hot right now at 33°C, and our well has already dried out. Hopefully the rain will soon arrive, so groundwater will soon fill out the well.

Mackerel Sky Reloaded (Day 03- The Conclusion)

Here I am once again sharing my original contents in the form of videos for this community. Though the first two videos of Mackerel Sky Reloaded were flops or did not garner satisfying ratings, I still don't lose the appetite for sharing my vlogs because it is through this activity that I can temporarily escape the hustles and bustles of everyday living, and I find joy in sharing the humble product of my creative juices, which at most times appear to be common occurrences to most people and are hated by stereotypes due to the simplicity of how my contents are delivered. However, let us not take those things too seriously and remain steadfast in what we are doing. So here it
goes...

First, I featured a mackerel sky I saw years ago when me and my wife went to her hometown and saw the lovely cloud formation along the street while we were aboard my motorcycle. As my blog about the wonderful sighting was uploaded, I saw an actual mackerel sky the following day, and that was on March 28. Another sighting occurred on March 29, which is the longest occurrence I ever captured through video, all of which I featured in this community within a week. Then, on March 30, another sighting occurred, which I will feature in this vlog. Though it is somewhat shortlived, it is also a very spectacular sight to behold, so I didn't waste time having its video taken to be shared in this community.

Mackerel Sky Reloaded Day 02

In this video, I was able to film the buildup of clouds from its initial sightings at dawn and during sunrise, which I once again mistook to be remnants of mackerel sky cloud formations that occurred during nighttime, as during the past few days, I often see this cloud formation amidst the moonlit evening sky. Fortunately, I had enough time to make a timelapse video of the rising sun, and I found out that there is another occurrence of this lovely aerial phenomenon, which I sighted about a few kilometers away from where my first video was taken on the previous day. Then, about five minutes after the hour of seven o'clock in the morning, the sky seemed to be blanketed by fish scales, and I hurriedly made a video to capture its captivating wonder from my various points of view, as I noted that this had much wider coverage compared to the previous one. In addition, I also found out that it also lasted longer, as I noticed that the cloud formations appeared to remain intact for a couple of hours until they're totally diffused before noontime. I was able to take a video of the setting sun when I was about to go home from work, with another set of clouds building up in the twilight sky.

Mackerel Sky Reloaded Day 01

After I am done with my composition that has been in my drafts for quite a very long time and finally sharing it with this community last Thursday, I go outside my workplace to take a breather along the portion of the surroundings that is shaded by trees, and when I look upwards, I see numerous patterns of cirrocumulus clouds that adorn the early afternoon sky, which are very similar to those that I recently shared, and the cloud formations are called mackerel sky because they appear to look like fish scales. I immediately went inside my workplace to get my phone and started to take pictures and videos of the amazing sightings, which I never expected to occur as the sky was only covered by a thin layer of white clouds that are easily diffused by the rising sun. Moreover, the weather was forecast to be 28 °C, which was very sunny at that time, which I thought was not an ideal time for cloud hunting because it was hot. But my perception turned out to be wrong, and I saw that amazing cloud formation once again and also on the following days, and I will be sharing it with this community once again, so stay tuned to my contents because I will be sharing more of these in the near future. Reflection Hunting With My Buddy

In the past few weeks, I have uploaded photographs about the reflection hunting soree with KitKat. My only intent to walk at that time was to resume my regular walk for my Actifit report card, but when I found out that the river was shallow, we walked further towards the southern part of the river since I thought that this was the ideal time for reflection hunting, and so we went on. The following video clips were taken in different directions of the river, where there are subjects that are perfect for reflection photography that nature has provided, like the towering bamboos on the other side of the river and trees from both sides, as well as the overcast that shrouded the morning sky, which can be seen on the water. At that time, the river seemed to become like a huge blanket of mirrors, whereas the reflections of its surroundings are clearly visible on its surface. It's not too late to save water!

It's World Water Day today, and I'm sharing this video to spread the word on the importance of a global push to save water before I forget. This video was shot close to the Rio Maragayap's mouth in Bacnotan, La Union, Philippines, where freshwater from the river and saltwater from the sea combined. The same water that evaporates to make clouds will later condense to become rain, and part of it will be absorbed by the earth to support vegetation and animals as well as provide drinkable water to relieve human thirst and the same old water where marine creatures dwell that can give food to us. Some will return to the river and flow towards the ocean, continuing the cycle of evaporation and condensation.
