As calm as the peace someone feels when they are truly protected.

That is what this beautiful musical piece is about. Different contexts, same feeling.

I am a musician thanks to the immense faith of my parents. They wanted me to use music to praise God, but they never told me that, in return, I would gain more than one way to recognize His love and care.

This Psalm expresses the certainty of divine protection, and for me, Lift Me Up —even though it was not written as a sacred song— reflects through its plea the same peace and safety the psalmist knows he will receive from God.

Hello to each and every one of you, my dear friends in the Hive Open Mic community!

My dear friends of Hive Open Mic, it is an honor this week to share with you my new cover.

This week’s theme is “Masks”, and for me, the greatest representation of a mask has nothing to do with carnival, celebrations, or traditions.
Instead, it is about the social, emotional, and psychological masks that human beings put on.

“Los 41” tells the story of a man who changes his personality depending on the girl he is with —
a young man who, despite being 20 (or older), does not know what he wants and behaves like a child.
In this case, the mask is nothing more than the different ways he acts depending on the social mask he chooses to wear at that moment.

These masks, whether we want them or not, affect those around us.
Every time we choose to put on a mask to hide our indecision or avoid responsibility, we are still making a decision —
the decision to hide behind a mask.

There are countless behaviors that society may judge, but that is not what matters.
Each of us can choose whether or not to wear these masks, whether to hurt or not hurt the people around us,
and whether to live with one honest face, without hiding.

I hope you never find yourselves in a conflict so deep that you feel the need to choose a mask.

Mis queridos amigos de Hive Open Mic, me honra esta semana poder contarles y compartir con ustedes mi nuevo cover.

Para esta semana el tema es “máscaras”, y mi mayor representación de una máscara no tiene que ver con carnaval, fiestas o tradiciones, sino con las máscaras sociales, emocionales y psicológicas que puede colocarse la humanidad.

“Los 41” relata la historia de un hombre con distintas personalidades según la chica con la que se encuentra, un chico que a pesar de tener 20 años (o más) no sabe lo que quiere y actúa como un niño.
La máscara, en esta ocasión, es la manera distinta que tiene de actuar según la máscara social que decida colocarse.

Estas máscaras, aunque no queramos, afectan a quienes nos rodean.
Cada vez que decidimos colocarnos una máscara para ocultar nuestra falta de decisión o evadir responsabilidades, estamos tomando una decisión: escondernos tras ella.

Hay una infinidad de códigos que podrían estar socialmente mal vistos, pero eso no es lo importante.
Cada uno de nosotros puede elegir si ponerse o no este tipo de máscara, herir o no herir a quienes nos rodean,
y actuar con una sola cara, sin máscaras ni escondites.

Deseo que nunca se encuentren en un conflicto tan grande que los lleve a elegir ponerse una máscara.

Hello to each and every one of you, my dear friends in the Hive Open Mic community!

This week’s theme, “Spotlight”, illuminated my thoughts in a very special way.
For me, the true light arrived gently, settled in my mind, and transformed itself into a song.

This song represents, in the purest way, what a spotlight feels like when it shines directly on you —
and how the heart looks back with that same light.

I hope we always feel that desire to stand in the spotlight…
Not out of ego, but like this singer, with the longing for our hearts to be seen,
and the courage to show them in every note.

Barbara Pravi always loved music, but it wasn’t until she composed this song —
and dared to show herself to the world with an open heart —
that she was finally able to express what she truly wanted and needed:
to be the one under the spotlight, not just the composer behind others.

That’s why, for me, this theme and this song walk hand in hand.
They share the same longing to step into the light.

I recorded this cover on three violins and did my best to make a smart equalization 😂🎻

El tema de esta semana, “Spotlight”, iluminó mis pensamientos de una manera muy especial.
Para mí, la verdadera luz llegó suavemente, se instaló en mi mente y se convirtió en canción.

Esta canción es, para mí, la máxima expresión de lo que se siente un reflector cuando brilla justo de frente,
y cómo el corazón devuelve esa misma luz.
Ojalá siempre sintamos ese deseo de estar bajo el reflector…
No por ego, sino —como esta cantante— con el anhelo de que nuestro corazón sea visto
y la disposición de mostrarlo en cada nota.

Bárbara Pravi siempre amó la música, pero solo cuando compuso esta canción
y tuvo el deseo de mostrarse al mundo con el corazón abierto,
pudo realmente expresar lo que quería y necesitaba:
ser ella quien estuviera bajo el reflector, y no solo componer para otros.

Por eso, para mí, este tema y esta canción van de la mano
y muestran el mismo deseo de estar bajo la luz.

Hice este cover a tres violines e hice mi mayor esfuerzo por lograr una ecualización inteligente 😂🎻

This week’s theme is "Movement", and I truly believe that despite everything we go through, nothing helps us grow and improve more than staying in motion.

Esta semana el tema es "Movimiento" y honestamente creo que pese a todas nuestras situaciones no hay nada que nos haga prosperar y mejorar más que mantenernos en movimiento.

When we keep moving, we don’t allow ourselves to stagnate, and sometimes we don’t even notice everything we are achieving and how far we’ve come from our starting point.

Creo que mientras nos movemos no nos permitimos estancarnos y en ocasiones no notamos todo lo que vamos logrando y todo lo que hemos avanzado desde el punto de inicio.

"Commas" is a song that speaks about financial prosperity—not only from the desire for wealth, but from growth, gratitude, and the fullness of living the moment in which we have the chance to see all those “commas.”

"Commas" es una canción que habla de la prosperidad financiera. Pero no solo desde el deseo de la riqueza sino desde el crecimiento, desde la gratitud y la plenitud de vivir el momento en que tenemos la oportunidad de ver todas esas "comas".

The richness we accumulate is not always monetary; sometimes it is simply the possibility of growing as individuals, and in that sense, we can also experience our own personal commas.

Gracias por ver este post y por dedicarme tu tiempo. El tema de esta semana, "The Children", me inspira profundamente a pensar en mi amor por ellos.

Los niños son lo más hermoso y puro que ha creado Dios. Realmente disfruto mucho estar con ellos, adaptarme a su mundo y ver cómo ellos me reciben en el suyo, con el único fin de sentirse felices y aceptados por quienes son.

Durante toda mi vida he estado rodeada de niños, aunque no tengo hermanos, y he ayudado a cuidarlos en la vida diaria. Mi especialidad siempre ha sido ayudar a dormirlos. Por eso, esta semana traje "Duerme Mi Tripón", de Otilio Galíndez.

En Venezuela, “tripón” hace referencia a un niño. Esta es una canción de cuna con una hermosa letra que relata una historia de amor entre el sol y la luna, haciendo referencia a que el tiempo al dormir pasará tan rápido como un beso entre ambos astros.

Hace poco descubrí que la canción es mucho más larga, pero hoy quiero compartirles la versión reducida que conocí cuando hice práctica coral en la escuela de música donde me formé.

Thank you for watching this post and for giving me your time. This week’s theme, "The Children", deeply inspires me to reflect on my love for them.

Children are the most beautiful and pure creation of God. I truly enjoy being with them, adapting myself to their world, and seeing how they welcome me into theirs, simply wanting to feel happy and accepted for who they are.

Throughout my life I have been surrounded by children, even though I don’t have siblings, and I have helped to take care of them in daily life. My special gift has always been helping them fall asleep. That is why this week I brought "Duerme Mi Tripón", by Otilio Galíndez.

In Venezuela, “tripón” is a tender way to refer to a child. This is a lullaby with beautiful lyrics that tell a love story between the sun and the moon, suggesting that sleep makes time pass as quickly as a kiss between both celestial bodies.

Not long ago I discovered that the song is actually longer, but today I want to share with you the shorter version I first learned during choral practice at the music school where I studied.

Hola de nuevo a mis amigos de @hiveopenmic!
En esta semana 301 el tema es Someone To Love y, desde lo más profundo de mi sinceridad, tuve una semana muy estancada en inspiración.

Recientemente me acordé de una pieza muy linda de Lewis Capaldi, Someone You Loved. Habla de ese alguien que amas pero en tiempo pasado, de la herida que deja un amor que ya no está y del dolor que queda después de compartir la vida con esa persona.

Muchos están buscando a alguien para amar, otros están amando, y otros están perdiendo de vista qué es realmente el amor y cómo acercarse a él.

En el caso de esta canción, tanto la música como la letra son perfectamente concordantes; una depende de la otra. Honestamente quise grabarla cantando, pero como saben, mi inglés no es el mejor y ahora mismo mi memoria está ocupada con todo lo que debo aprender en la universidad.

Esta pieza tiene una particularidad muy bonita para mí: me recuerda a una persona que amé y amo inmensamente. Uno de mis mejores amigos me mostró esta canción por primera vez, abriéndome su corazón y mostrándome lo frágil que estaba.

Desde ese momento la atesoré como un gesto de intimidad y confidencialidad entre él y yo. Hoy en día cada uno hizo su vida en distintos países, pero la amistad sigue intacta.

A veces nos enfocamos en buscar a alguien para amar en un contexto romántico y no vemos cómo amar a quienes ya nos aman: amistades, familiares, etc.

En esta ocasión hice un cover a dos violines: el primero muy parecido a la voz del cantante original, y el segundo más sincopado, siguiendo la melodía que más resonaba en mí en este momento.

This week 301 the theme is Someone To Love, and from the deepest part of my honesty, I had a week completely stuck in terms of inspiration.

Recently I remembered a very beautiful piece by Lewis Capaldi, Someone You Loved. It speaks about someone you love, but in the past tense — the wound left by a love that is no longer there, and the pain that remains after sharing life with that person.

Many people are looking for someone to love, others are loving, and others are constantly losing perspective of what love truly is and how to approach it.

In this song, both the music and the lyrics are perfectly aligned; one depends on the other. I honestly wanted to record it singing, but as you know, my English is not the best, and right now my memory is very occupied with everything I must learn and memorize at the university.

This piece has a very special meaning for me: it reminds me of someone I loved and still love deeply. One of my best friends showed me this song for the first time, opening his heart and showing me how fragile he was at that moment.

Since then, I treasured it as a gesture of intimacy and confidentiality between him and me. Today, each of us lives in different countries, but the friendship remains intact.

Sometimes we focus on finding someone to love in a romantic sense, and we forget how to love those who already love us — our friends, our family, and so on.

For this week, I made a two-violin cover: the first one very similar to the original singer’s vocal line, and the second one more syncopated, following the melody that resonated with me the most at this moment.

Debo admitir que estuve buscando inspiración para crear algo. Tengo una característica muy particular: suelo componer desde el sufrimiento mucho más que desde las emociones positivas (sobre todo cuando se trata de escribir una letra). Y estos últimos días han sido caóticos en muchos sentidos. Uno de mis gatos estuvo muy enfermo y pensamos que lo perderíamos, además de algunos problemas familiares.

I must admit that I was searching for inspiration to create something. I have a very particular trait: I tend to compose from suffering much more than from positive emotions (especially when it comes to writing lyrics). And these past few days have been chaotic in many ways. One of my cats was very sick, and we thought we might lose him, along with some family issues.

La cúspide de todo lo que estaba pasando en mi vida fue el reciente bombardeo, y fue entonces cuando, sin darme cuenta, llegué a mi límite de tolerancia emocional. Apenas en ese momento empecé a digerir tantas cosas juntas.

The peak of everything that was happening in my life was the recent bombing, and it was then, without realizing it, that I reached my emotional limit. Only at that moment did I begin to process so many things together.

Más allá de cualquier contexto externo, existe una realidad humana: muchas personas vivimos en un estado de tensión, incertidumbre, preocupación, presión, miedo y demás emociones que una situación de esta naturaleza puede provocar.

Beyond any external context, there is a human reality: many people live in a state of tension, uncertainty, worry, pressure, fear, and other emotions that a situation of this nature can provoke.

Personalmente soy una persona muy nerviosa, ansiosa y algo pesimista en este tipo de circunstancias. Debo confesar que la paranoia, el miedo y el estrés se apoderaron por completo de mí al vivir en la ciudad capital.

Personally, I am a very nervous, anxious, and somewhat pessimistic person in these kinds of circumstances. I must confess that paranoia, fear, and stress completely took over me while living in the capital city.

Cuando miramos hacia afuera, entendemos que lo que más necesitamos es mantener la calma y esperar. Sin embargo, para mí es todo un reto alcanzar ese estado. Cuanto más me esfuerzo, más parece apoderarse de mí la ansiedad y la desesperación, creando escenarios grotescos donde todo sale mal. Entonces empiezo a sentir que podría formar parte de esa lista de personas que, en distintas partes del mundo, han perdido la vida en conflictos como este.

When we look outward, we understand that what we most need is to remain calm and wait. However, for me, reaching that state is a real challenge. The more I try, the more anxiety and despair seem to take over, creating grotesque scenarios where everything goes wrong. Then I begin to feel as if I could become part of that list of people who, in different parts of the world, have lost their lives in conflicts like this.

Mi corazón me pide calma, pero mi mente lucha incansablemente por negársela. Es un bucle que me ha tenido atrapada desde hace mucho tiempo y que, en situaciones de riesgo, me afecta inmensamente incluso después de que el mayor peligro ha pasado.

My heart asks me for calm, but my mind fights relentlessly to deny it. It is a loop that has trapped me for a long time and that, in risky situations, affects me immensely even after the greatest danger has passed.

Esta canción habla de esos miedos, ansiedades y emociones que he sentido (y que quizá otra persona también pueda reconocer en sí misma) durante estos días en los que la confrontación y nuestras reacciones como civiles pueden llegar a ser completamente abrumadoras y difíciles de procesar.

This song speaks of those fears, anxieties, and emotions I have felt (and perhaps someone else may also identify with) during these days when confrontation and our reactions as civilians can become completely overwhelming and difficult to process.

Lo grabé con cuatro venezolano, especialmente para celebrar de algún modo la venezolanidad, y elegí hacerlo sin maquillaje como una alusión a estas últimas semanas en las que me he preocupado más por encontrar soluciones y salir de aprietos que por ser femenina, cuidadosa conmigo misma o amorosa hacia mí.

I recorded it with the Venezuelan cuatro, especially to celebrate in some way the Venezuelan identity, and I chose to do it without makeup as a reference to these past weeks, when I have been more concerned with finding solutions and overcoming difficulties than with being feminine, careful with myself, or loving toward myself.

Esta es una ocasión muy especial porque estamos finalizando el año. Este es mi último post del año, un año que para mí fue de nuevos comienzos y eso incluye esta brillante comunidad. Me alegró infinitamente haber regresado a este espacio de música libre pero llena de paz y amor.

This is a very special occasion because we are closing the year. This is my last post of the year, a year full of new beginnings for me, and that includes this brilliant community. I was infinitely happy to return to this space of free music filled with peace and love.

Esta semana el tema es “Epifanía” y no voy a negarles que incluso había olvidado el significado de esta palabra, así que tuve que volver a buscarlo y encontrar música que me hiciera vibrar con el tema que nos acompaña.

This week’s theme is “Epiphany”, and I must confess that I had even forgotten the meaning of this word, so I searched again and looked for music that could make me vibrate with the spirit of this week.

Así llegué al Benedictus, un texto quizá litúrgico que muchos conocemos y que nace de la epifanía vivida por tantos al ver a Jesús llegar.

That’s how I arrived at Benedictus, a liturgical text that many of us know, born from the epiphany experienced by so many when seeing Jesus arrive.

Hace mucho tiempo que estoy enamorada de esta pieza y recordé que la descubrí en un vídeo de un concierto de mi iglesia en África. Siendo honesta, sigue siendo mi versión favorita. Se las comparto aquí para que puedan escucharla. Para esta ocasión hice una adaptación a 4 violines.

La Navidad es una época que me emociona mucho y me hace muy feliz, y ya que esta semana el tema es "Christmas song"...

Quise traer una canción que habla, de manera aparentemente sencilla, de lo sublime que es el Niño Jesús y de la humildad, pureza y esencia de sus padres.

Todos sabemos que Navidad es sinónimo de natividad, y que esta natividad que celebramos en gran parte del mundo se debe a Jesús, a ese pequeñito que nació en Belén y que luego muchos veríamos como nuestro Salvador.

Tengo desde la semana pasada pensando en qué canción (que me gustaría grabarles) es la adecuada para traer a este tema de la semana.

Since last week I have been thinking about which song (that I would like to record for you) is the right one to bring to this week’s theme.

Sabía que quería una canción que hablara de la simple acción de una llamada entre dos amigos que saben que cuentan el uno con el otro y la certeza de que independientemente del momento, lugar o situación, una llamada basta para saber que "cuentas conmigo" y que será lo mismo en dirección contraria.

I knew I wanted a song that spoke about the simple act of a call between two friends who know they can count on each other, and the certainty that regardless of the moment, place, or situation, one call is enough to know that “you can count on me” — and that it will be the same in the opposite direction.

Para esta ocasión hice un cover con violín e hice mi primer intento de percusión vocal mezclada con bajo. Me costó un poco pensar rápido para grabar esto, ya que el violín es un instrumento muy agudo y me hacían falta demasiados elementos para intentar llenar la armonía y darle ese ligero toque percutido que caracteriza mucho esta canción. Espero lo disfruten y siempre recuerden...

For this occasion I made a cover with violin and did my first attempt at vocal percussion mixed with bass. It was a bit challenging to think quickly to record this, since the violin is a very high-pitched instrument and I was missing many elements to try to fill the harmony and give it that slight percussive touch that characterizes this song. I hope you enjoy it and always remember...

Hola mis queridos amigos de la comunidad! 🌟

En esta semana 296 estoy muy contenta de poder mostrarles una canción preciosa, por fin me decidí luego de pensar en muchas piezas que plantean el tema tal como es.

Irónicamente me decidí por una canción que habla de que no hay nada de seguro en poder regresar. La mayoría de las veces existe el deseo pero también la dificultad de no saber cómo o no tener la posibilidad de retornar a algún lugar.

Esta semana de nuevo continúo con una canción de Joaquina. Es una artista con la que estoy muy pegada porque siento que su música transmite todo lo que muchos vivimos y no sabemos cómo expresar sin quedar afectados en el intento.

En esta canción Joaquina (y yo en esta ocasión) habla de lo poco seguro que es el reencuentro con seres queridos. El volver a cierto lugar de encuentro para vernos juntos de nuevo.

Toda la semana anterior y parte de esta estuve merodeando por múltiples canciones que exclaman esperanza y deseos de retorno, aunque mis sentimientos no han estado tan consonos con esta letra en la última semana, pero quería compartir un post esta semana con cada uno de ustedes.

Justo el lunes cuando estaba por dormirme me reencontré esta canción interpretada por su cantautora y fue suficiente que mi corazón se moviera para decidirme a grabarla para subirla a mi muro esta semana.

Espero que cada uno pueda aprovechar la oportunidad en la que sí pueden estar con sus seres queridos y la disfruten como si fuese la última, siempre con la conciencia de que no siempre podremos volver, ni en tiempo, ni en espacio, pero que el presente es el mayor regalo que tenemos para destapar y usar al momento.

Abracen a su familia, quiéranla, respétenla, cuídenla, abrácense a ustedes mismos, quiéranse, cuídense, y hagan esto con todo lo que dan por sobre entendido, nunca sabemos si volveremos. 💖

Hello my dear friends from the community! 🌟

In this week 296 I am very happy to share with you a beautiful song. I finally made up my mind after thinking about many pieces that reflect the theme just as it is.

Ironically, I chose a song that speaks about how uncertain it is to be able to return. Most of the time there is the desire, but also the difficulty of not knowing how or not having the possibility to go back to a certain place.

This week again I continue with a song by Joaquina. She is an artist I feel very connected to because her music conveys everything that many of us live and do not know how to express without being affected in the attempt.

How are you this week?

Agradezco muchísimo por escoger este tema que en muchos casos suele verse como un cliché, pero para mí se convirtió en tabú. Voz de Esperanza es un tema que llega a hacerme creer de nuevo.

Thank you very much for choosing this topic that in many cases is usually seen as a cliché, but for me it became taboo. Voice of hope is a subject that makes me believe again.

Aunque no he parado del todo, mis seres cercanos saben lo mucho que me ha afectado el no haber comenzado mi carrera universitaria en el momento que esperaba... Y lo mucho que sigo esperando iniciar las clases. Aunque he trabajado, sigo estudiando música, inglés y estoy inmersa en demás actividades, pocos saben el valor que le doy a esa carrera.

Although I haven't completely stopped, my close ones know how much it has affected me not to have started my college career at the time I expected.... And how much I'm still looking forward to starting classes. Although I have worked, I continue to study music, English and I am immersed in other activities, few know the value I give to this career.

Todo comenzó con mis sueños de niña, con mis ganas de ayudar a la gente y ayudarme a la vez. A los 6 años después de infinidad de oficios en los que me quería desempeñar, terminé por decidir que quería ser farmacéutico y que descubriría la cura para muchas enfermedades con medicamentos que no causen efectos secundarios. Ese, entre muchos otros sueño... Y pues... Les confieso que mi mayor problema es que no estoy feliz ni me siento agradada con la persona que soy ahora, porque no estoy llenando de satisfacción a esa pequeña yo que sigue habitando en esa parte donde se crean mis sueños.( En cierta parte fue este el motivo por el que decidí grabar el vídeo dentro de un castillo de juguete de mis primas)... Pero... La vida adulta es peor que una patada en el hígado (cuando apenas te acostumbras)... De pronto nada es claro y tienes responsabilidades que realmente no te corresponden pero sencillamente tienes que aprender a lidiar con eso sin importar lo que hayas vivido, lo que estés viviendo, tus duelos, tus frustraciones y los dolores que haya en el alma.

Discúlpenme si parece que me estoy desahogando con ustedes pero sé que no soy la única con golpes de realidad y otras demás, por eso lo comparto con ustedes. Porque aunque quise evadir por completo el tema de esta semana porque estoy sumida en el pesimismo debo confesar. Sigo haciendo música y esta canción me recuerda que a pesar de todo esto que podemos llegar a vivir hay cosas Que Valen Más... Tal como se titula la canción...

It all started with my dreams as a child, with my desire to help people and help me at the same time. When I was 6 years old, after an infinity of trades in which I wanted to work, I ended up deciding that I wanted to be a pharmacist and that I would discover the cure for many diseases with medicines that do not cause side effects. That, among many other dreams... And so... I confess that my biggest problem is that I am not happy or pleased with the person I am now, because I am not filling with satisfaction that little me that still lives in that part where my dreams are created. (In a certain part this was the reason why I decided to record the video inside a toy castle of my cousins).... But... Adult life is worse than a kick in the liver (when you just get used to it).... Suddenly nothing is clear and you have responsibilities that don't really belong to you but you simply have to learn to deal with it no matter what you have lived, what you are living, your duels, your frustrations and the pains in the soul.

Forgive me if it seems like I'm venting to you but I know I'm not the only one with reality hits and whatnot, that's why I'm sharing it with you. Because even though I wanted to completely avoid this week's topic because I am mired in pessimism I must confess. I'm still making music and this song reminds me that despite all this that we can get to live there are things that are worth more .... Just as the song is titled....
