The Berkeley Hotel Pratunam Room Tour

Here's a five-minute video showcasing what the standard room of The Berkeley Hotel Pratunam looks like. I could compare it to previous hotels we stayed at for the past five-year club trips, and I can say this is the biggest of all.

Our room was on the 21st floor. Our room, my parents', and my sister in law's were of the same level and just next to each other, so we have the same type of rooms.

We stayed here for three nights and four days. They got a free buffet breakfast included in the accommodation and lots of amenities included, like the pool, which is a huge one and is very nice. The hotel is also just next to a night market in Pratunam and is just walking distance to the CentralWorld and other shopping centers.

Going back to the room, a keycard is needed to access it. It activates the power too, and the first to welcome is the bathroom at the right side. It is spacious, with two sinks; there's not bathtub however, but this is already satisfactory. There are hot and cold showers and soap plus shampoo available. Dental kits are refilled everyday, they also replace the towels and the floor towels, which is really good.

The opposite side of the bath is the storage where bathrobes with the Berkeley Hotel stitched in them were also placed, and they provide slippers too, and a safety lock. We placed our luggage here and other stuff. Glass water bottles were also provided together with instant coffee.

Next to it is a long sideboard that has more storage areas, drawers, a mini fridge, a TV, and a workstation with numerous outlets available. Chair was comfy and they provided a menu for their room service, which we tried on our first night here.

We were given two single beds, we hoped it was a queen-sized bed but we can't anymore change as we were tired on our first day so we just decided to let Matti use the other bed but the problem was that he fell on our third day, poor little one, he was okay though.

We only have a little view of the surroundings, I love the curtain and they even have a separate round table with two chairs near the window.

We loved the spaciousness of this room. We had no issues during our entire stay; everything was clean every day. We also enjoyed their billiards and the pool, of course! We just swim on our last day and enjoyed it to ourselves as there were no other guests around!

The Berkeley Hotel Breakfast Buffet

In continuation to our trip to Bangkok Thailand, I am sharing with you this video of our buffet breakfast at The Berkeley Hotel Pratunam. The trip happened last October 2024, we stayed in Bangkok for four days and three nights. Our first day was a pack and we weren't able to join the buffet but did on our second day instead.

The Berkeley Dining Room is located at the 10th floor of the North Tower. Our room was at the 18th so it was just easy for us to get to the restaurant. This is also the place where we could get to the first tower as there's a connecting lane. There are staff assigned to check the room number and the number of guests as we enter the buffet area. The staff here are really polite and friendly. They love kids too! The buffet area is huge and there are loads of chairs and tables placed around the vicinity. It can accommodate 300 heads. There were also sides where you'll get a view of the city around. I love the spots where we could see the view but they were all taken during our first buffet experience.

My niece was already getting food as I was entering. I noticed them already so I immediately joined. The buffet breakfast here starts at six in the morning and ends at 10 AM. Our timing was just right at seven.

The buffet was good, there were so many options from soups, to pastries, salads, fish, chicken dishes, and more! There were Chinese cuisine, and even Indian food options. I definitely enjoyed this as the previous year when we went to Hong Kong and there was no breakfast buffet included on the hotel accommodation. I am glad that this time, they have chosen a hotel that has that specially that we need to be full coming out of the hotel as there will be so many walking to do!

That day, we went to several places and had to stay late as we went on a river cruise!

4K Film: Bulawan Golden Hour over Newly Planted Rice Paddies

As promised, allow me to share with you this 4k video of our own neighborhood. We are surrounded by rice paddies which changes colors three times a year. This month, rice farmers are busy prepping the paddies and now, their seedlings were ready for planting. And as they start planting, the fields turn from gray to green, tiny bits of plants are now showing as we watch them from above.

It's just amazing how we couldn't appreciate the great view from below but as we flew our drone and see the wonders of how amazing the patterns, not so perfectly aligned yet there's beauty in that. The birds who are the usual audience to this surely had enjoyed every inch of minute they fly over these newly planted fields especially on its first few days.

Just a few days or weeks from the time of flying, they will surely show another angle of its wonders as the plants starts growing and growing. I am in awe of how wonderful nature showed a picture of the grace of the Creator, the ultimate designer and author of this beauty!

Glad to be living in the province, the beauty that city life didn't get to offer to us while we were in the concrete jungle. Now, we walk and in just a few steps, we could see trees and be one with nature and even appreciate the things that our local farmers are doing. If you'll ask me if I miss the city, of course, there are times when I miss the city, what it can offer - the many options when it comes to food, the beauty as well that city life had, we experienced those things but there's just something about living in the province that is giving me a reason not to live in the city anymore.

I am content to be in the big city twice a year but for now, I am glad and happy to be in this little province, living the opportunity that work from home had given me.

Bam Nam Phueng Floating Market

Our first experience of Bangkok's floating market was at Bam Nam Phueng. According to the tour guide, this isn't a famous one nor a place where most tourist go, this is just part of our tour because they wanted us to see a glimpse of how a floating market looks like. Later on in our stay in Bangkok, we would eventually see and experience how floating markets look like and personally would ride on their machine powered boats!

We hadn't had lunch but as a mother, it is essential for me to bring snacks while on a tour. It is something that I somehow go overboard too as I would bring more than we needed but my mindset is always "better to have extras not be hungry!"

So when we arrived at the floating market, we turned on our insta360 so we could capture the whole area without thinking of where to point the camera. Thankful for this type of gear, we could film ourselves without a breeze! I was the one holding the stick while my husband carries our four year old who said he didn't want to walk, he specifically said he wanted to stay in the tour bus! Bringing the pram was not a good idea too as the walkways were narrow.

In Bam Nam Phueng, some stores had closed because its already past two in the afternoon. There were still many who were selling foods, fruits, meals, souvenir items. Some were interesting, some I found familiar, but we were heading to where we could eat and I am not adventurous when it comes to food so I just stayed at fried things and familiar looking food. I found fried chicken and ended up to try one still with chicken but with some in it which I don't know what they were. We still finished them though. The pricing here was just affordable. I litterally had to practice my short Thai vocabulary because only a few of them can comprehend English. We survived!

But as we were heading back, it rained. We waited for the rain to stop and then as we were walking back to the bus, we found some of our companions staying at this coffee corner. Intrigued, so we headed towards them and ordered our coconut coffee! It was fun seeing the lady owner made the coffee. From brewing to opening the young coconut, she did it all. And the coffee was amazing! I haven't tried this kind of coffee. She used no added sugar, it was all coming from the coconut water! Amazing! It's just a wonder why the coconuts in Bangkok are sweetest! We have coconuts back in my hometown in the Philippines too but its a hit and miss but so far in Bangkok as I already had a few coconuts earlier that day, they were all sweet!

Anyway, after that coffee, we were at the bus and traveled back to our hotel. It was a long day and we wanted to rest right away! Next video would be a tour of our room! Stay tuned!

Erawan Museum

Bangkok's Erawan Museum is known for its having an iconic three headed elephant on top of the building. It is also colored pink and is interesting. But compared to the previous one we first visited, this is only a small structure with not much to do rather than site seeing. There's also a garden around and more elephants!

Our visit here was quick, the inside is airconditioned, we have to leave our footwears outside while we tour inside the museum. It has interesting staircase which every visitor should take because the beauty for me was in the small details of the museum. There were carved structures on the pillars and walls and even the ceiling is amazing!

If you have kids, it is better to go around quick and be done as it easily becomes crowded specially that this is part of all group tours. Watch the video and see this tourist attraction virtually!

Bangkok's Ancient City

Hey everyon! I couldn't quite recall the last time I uploaded a video here but allow me to share our Bangkok Thailand videos starting with this first tourist attraction we went to - Ancient City. This is a huge place that one day won't be enough.

The issue with a group tour is that you are constrained by the limited time allowance the tour company gave us. Perhaps that was because we ere behind of schedule but the propblem is that we could only get off the bus at this Ancient City's main attraction.

I used the insta360 camera and I think it was a bad idea to study the camera on the spot so as a result, I got overexposed that was hard to restore them.

Anyway, I highly recommend that if you are coming here, make sure to take advantage of the golf cart, you will need to pay for it but it is already good for 4 adults, you can divide the rental fees among each other.

Anda Bohol ASMR

Today, I became worried looking at so many videos on my hard drive from years ago waiting to be edited. It saddens me that I have a lot of things to edit and post but the only problem is not having enough time to get them done!

Anyway, because I thought getting into them one step at a time would lessen the huge task, I decided to edit this set of clips from our 2021 beach outing with the family. This was a beach called Flower Beach in Anda, Bohol, Philippines. There's a beach shore and the kids love it there as the shoreline is longer and wider and they can play.

I thought of adding a background music too but decided to leave it as is like an ASMR video showcasing the sound of life in this area.

This of course was taken more than 3 years ago and it makes me happy to see these memories of my niece and nephews enjoying the beach.

Matti was still less than a year old at that time and you'll see us in the video too. Matti was still very cheeky and bubbly. I see my niece and nephew who are now away from us, they live in South Cotabato now. Time flies so fast indeed that my niece is now a sophomore at school while ZM, that little boy who was throwing sand to my niece is now a grade one pupil.

I hope we could get to go back to Flower Beach and we hope that one days, we will also get to come together as a family again.

Lumadayo Drone Footage

This resort in Alburquerque, Bohol is meant to those who want to be relaxed and just be close to nature. With the location being surrounded by trees, you'll feel nothing but calmness. When the wind blows and the cool breeze can be felt in our skin, we can certainly say that we are blessed to be able to spare some time to be away from the busy life. It is just right to stay away from the things that keeps us occupied once in a while and with family around us, we can be assured that life is indeed good! The good father above looks down unto us and that He wills for us to enjoy this sacred life He had let us borrow.

Indeed, when we are at the tailend of our lives, the material things won't matter but only the experiences and the moments we had shared with our loved ones are the only things that matter. Memories will be the only things we will be left of.

I am happy as well because the past few months, I am flying the drone myself. I realized, it is not that hard, even the set up process. I had always rely on my husband on everything but slowly, I am trying on my own.

The drone used here was a DJI Mini 2.

Baking Happiness at Bakespace!

Scrolling through my folders today to delete old files to clear some memory space, I bumped into this folder named Bakespace. Oh, goodness, I have not edited the videos so I immediately imported the video files into DaVinci Resolve and made my way to compile one which is an 8-minute video.

I realized, we didn't take photos of the experience so I grabbed some stills so I can create this blog but you can watch the video as well.

My Cebuano friends recommended that we bring Matti here because it's a delightful experience. I couldn't go until last December when we visited Cebu for my husband's company Christmas party. Also, coming here requires an appointment first and our preferred date was full so we had to get the evening one instead which was at 7 PM, this was their last session of the day.

There are different packages, we availed the solo which was worth Php 699 (at that time), this includes 1 adult and 1 child for 3 bento cakes. Today, upon checking, it looks like they have increased their pricing.

Coming in, we were greeted by the number of ovens and mixers. We arrived a few minutes before the scheduled time as recommended so there were still guests from the previous time session who were wrapping up and taking photos of their cakes. I was excited to see them happy and they sure looked like enjoyed the baking session. I can see Matti was also happy and excited although he was already a little sleepy.

We were handed aprons and were advised to wash hands before we start. The tables were cleaned and our materials were placed. We were around 30 minutes late as the previous batch took a lot of time but it's fine, we were just excited and didn't mind.

It's cute that they provide phone stands for the bakers so we could document this experience with our phones. It was a small thing but helped a lot because everyone wanted to get photos and videos of them baking. Matti and I had to take a video the phone while my husband was also taking videos on his camera.

The session finally started, there were supposed to be 8 groups in that batch, but one didn't arrive. And so we started by introducing the ingredients. As you can see on the photo above, Matti's delightful face knowing that we were going to start baking!

The first step was cracking the egg! We only have one egg for our bento cakes, the others had two and for the cookies, the egg is not needed.

We were provided with everything necessary to bake, the mixing bowls, spatula etc. One by one, we put the ingredients in the bowl and Matti was super interactive at this point. He was the most energetic and he would also talk to the head baker whenever asked. You can surely see that he was very invested in this.

And now we were asked to go to the mixer and mix our mixture. I understand that baking or cooking in general is therapeutic, this is the reason why most cooking or baking videos are a hit on several streaming platforms. I also understand why the rate is this high because we were given a chance to use mixers and ovens which are not cheap equipment.

There is only a specific number of times that the mixture is being mixed with the machine, we were even asked to count with the instructor and stop at once when we reached 30. Then we had to prepare the molders.

Matti brushed some oil into the molder to avoid the mixture sticking to the bottom but for some reason, he included the back side. We laughed at him for doing so.

Then he placed the parchment papers into the molders and I did the honor of pouring the mixtures. Since we were baking 3 bento cakes, we had three molders.

It was also necessary to eliminate the bubbles so we had to tap on the table a couple of times and then we had to bring the molder with the mixture to the oven for baking!

Matti was enjoying this process as you can see by the look of his face! I am now thinking of bringing him to South Farms too soon for their pizza-making activity as well. I believe he will enjoy that too!

While waiting for the cake, we proceed with making the buttercream! At this point, assistants were coming to help us further while the main instructor had gone somewhere.

The buttercream is just simply the butter and cream mixture. We were given just enough amount of these for our cakes. All the ingredients provided here were already premeasured so what we did was really putting them altogether. It was still fun though.

And the cakes were ready! A lady staff helped us cut the top part of the bento cakes, this was ready to be designed! So, we were thinking of what design should we make, we tried looking at the toppers available and the sprinkles but we ended up with a simple design instead of the "We Bare Bears"

For me, this was the most exciting part because everyone could decorate their cakes to whatever design they liked and it was just fun to mix colors and design the cakes.

Since we were doing Three Bear Brothers Grizzly, Panda, and Ice Bear, we mixed brown, red, and black food coloring into the buttercream mixture.

It was at this time that I realized this isn't easy. It was challenging to manage the buttercream to fully cover the bento cake. I salute the bakers out there who are good at this. I understand it takes a lot of time to master the art. But I tried my very best to get our three bento cakes a clean surface.

And now the piping part, this was hard but fun! Matti was already bored because I was not letting him help me anymore as I didn't want him to ruin the buttercream cover. So he was just roaming around. Many other kids had joined that time but Matti was the youngest.

Ladies and gentlemen, presenting to you my bento cakes, Grizzly, Panda, and Ice Bear aka Mama, Matti, and Papa!

It was time for some pictorial! I am so happy that the staff were also very accommodating to take our photos. Thankful for this experience. It took more or less 2 hours from start to finish and it was few minutes before 10 that we finally finished everything and went home.

Our bento cakes were boxed and after we went home happy with smiles on our faces. We then had a problem finishing the three bentos as they were too many for the three of us. We eventually decided to give to our friends and some neighbors!

Thank you Bakespace for such a delightful experience which I believe Matti will never forget! I hope to bring some of our children's cousins and nieces and nephews so they can also experience baking!

This is highly recommended, even adults can try it because I see the adults who were with us at that time enjoyed it too and I can personally say it is worth it!

Capturing the beauty of this resort in less than a minute. Landthai Hills is located in the mountains of Lombog, Guindulman, Bohol, Philippines, two and half hours away from Tagbilaran City.

This resort offers a panoramic view of the mountains and valleys of Guindulman with a glimpse of the horizon and Basdio bay on a clear day.

They have an inhouse restaurant, a swimming pool with natural spring source of water, rooms for overnight stay, and they allow camping too! They have available tents for rent or you may opt to bring your own. Here are their rates:

Their check in time is at 3pm while their check out time is at 12nn. All rooms use the commonal CR near the pool and so we decided to camp near that area. They have a cemented area too which our boys decided to camp.

We decided to book a room and then camping tents with breakfast for the rest. They got karaoke too at Php 150 per hour but they limit the singing until 11 PM only.

I am super glad they accommodated us with all our requests, camp fire, breakfast, additional dinner food orders and more.

My favorite parts of staying there were the camp fire at night where we appreciate the beauty of the evening stars and the morning sunrise, that's why we flew the drone and get a good bird's eyeview of the resort. Truly, nature lovers will appreciate it.

There's still a lot of things to improve for this resort, it took us a lot of effort hiking up to the top of the hill but it was all worth it.

Mini Amazing Race - GCBC Youth Edition

It's been awhile, 3speak. I am glad to share with you an almost year old event. The videos were taken last year during our prayer retreat with the young people in our church. Part of the two day event was a "mini" amazing race which I organized. There were only five stops for this game:

Romans - each team has to do the "oreo face roll" from their forehead down to their mouths.

Ephesians - the members must go in pair, one holding the spoon with the fork while on one foot hopping towards the basket, his/her partner must catch the egg if it falls off the spoon.

Galatians - the team will get a famous verse and have to arrange each word to complete the entire verse.

Colossians - answer 6 questions correctly from the Bible quiz list.

Revelation - at the pool, each team must shoot the pingpong ball to the next member's cup placed on his/her head.

The amazing race started with of course, a quick yell for each team. They were given only a few minutes so they got inspo for their yells from previous youth camps and other church events. Nonetheless, it was fun to hear their cheers!

I guess the team had a hard time with the first stop which was the oreo face roll, they took a lot of time there and the sun was too high already. After the retreat, all of us had some sort of sunburn.

The last stop was the Revelation and the red team had a huge chance of winning as they were the first ones to finish the other challenges. They indeed end up winning the mini amazing race!

After this, the young people enjoyed the rest of their morning at the pool.

Tinyhome Builders JY Mall Lahug Cebu

Paid play areas are a thing in the city, with many toy options, every parent would give in when their child would show a pity face asking them for some playtime. But this usually happens only when we are in Cebu. So back in May of this year, my little one remembered there was a play area near his father's office. So when we mentioned that we were visiting his papa at their office, he told me, "Mama, remember there's a play area near papa's office?" and he smiled when I nodded. He had a plan in mind.

Tinyhome Builders is just above Mcdonald's in JY Mall. It's quite new and only a few come here to play so I told Matti he can play while I work. The fee here is Php 150 for an hour of play, it increases if you want to have an open-time play. They sell socks separately and there's a Php 50 for adults if they want to attend to their kids. For toddlers two years old and below, adults are required.

What I like about it are the toys are still new, the place is clean and very peaceful, they have nice music plus the view from outside can be seen from the slide area.

The slide has a lot of balloons in the ball pit that kids would fall into after sliding which makes it safer.

I say there are so many options to play with but Matti's favorite is the tools area. He knows the names of the tools and he loves playing and pretending to be a construction worker.

Youth Fellowship at Landthai Resort

Our first time visiting Landthai Resort located in the mountain area of our local town. It was intended for our youth fellowship. It's also the first time for the young people to go out of the church and enjoy nature with us as in charge of the said ministry. I am grateful to God and our head pastor for allowing this activity and we sure learned so much about prayer and how it can help the youth in their walk with God. Our goal is for them to fall deeper in love with Jesus.

Our event started in the afternoon upon arrival. I contacted the owner of the said resort for the overnight stay in tents. Thankfully, my cousin had a lot of tents that we were able to borrow. So as we arrived, our afternoon session was held with our head pastor giving a message to the youth.

After that session, we pitched our tents and then rested. We brought snacks with us so while some were eating, others enjoyed the cold water of the spring water pool. It's really nice to have a pool on a mountain with nature surrounding it.

In the evening, we had dinner and then proceeded to a camp fire. It was an intimate activity and we sang a lot of worship songs, we had some of the young people sharing their experiences and challenges in life as a Christian. I believe that this made them develop a more close relationship with everyone and that it definitely can build this accountability with each other. Aside from that, it helped me learn more about themselves as well.

We watched the moon and the stars while the fire was still burning. It was time to sleep by 11 PM as we had a morning activity set up which included an early personal devotional time. I personally love that part where I watched the sunrise while reading God's word.

Our breakfast was served at six in the morning so we ate and then we had a short exhortation with my husband sharing how to pray like ACTS which means Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, and Supplication.

Then we had a mini amazing race, we grouped them into two and they did an impromptu yell. It was fun seeing them having fun as they played the games in each station. The last part was getting wet at the pool. It was super fun!

Finally, it was time to go home, we had lunch first and then waited for our church vehicle. I am praying that whatever they learned at our first out-of-church fellowship for 2023, they'd be able to apply it to their own prayer life.

A Fine Day at the Dam

One summer day this year, we explored a dam nearby the land property we bought last year. This dam has been a talk at that time because of the specific business being put up in the area and how it has the possibility of becoming a tourist destination because of the peacefulness it brings to the table and so we decided to check it as we have never been there.

This place is called Masayag Dam. There's a fishpond being built here and so you'll notice there are ropes here and there to help the bamboo rafts. According to the president of the group of farmers in the area, they allow the breeding and farming of Tilapia because the dam provides the facility to get this business done and it would be helpful for the farmers as well as another source of income. However, they didn't expect that the start of Tilapia farming here had also opened to another opportunity which is tourism.

While we were at the dam, we noticed how peaceful it was, there were mountains behind it and the sky is also giving a contrasting reflection of the water body. A few weeks ago, there were others who took photos of themselves on a kayak paddling here and it brought a lot of noise on the internet, a lot of people started coming here and would want their photos while kayaking as well.

However, this place is not yet allowed to hold tourism activity because first, there's no approval from the local government, and second, those people who were kayaking were not in their best gear, they were not wearing any life jackets and so there are no protective measures for the safety of the visitors or guests. Thus, the said activity was stopped and there was an advisory that it is not allowed to kayak or do any tourism activity over there.

But I see a great opportunity, perhaps the group of farmers who are managing the dam is already working on making this a place for guests and visitors to relax and do some water activity. I hope so because such an activity is not yet available in our town, it would be nice to have a place where people can dine while watching the beauty of the waters.

About the video, my son was the main subject of it as we explored the dam. There were beautiful flowers blooming all over the place which made the place raw yet pretty. Just a few developments, this would be a good place to chill and relax.

Trying Out 3Shorts Videos Feat Cuartel

Hey guys! I just found out that we have 3shorts videos now on 3speak. I have here a drone shot video of Cuartel, Oslob, Cebu for testing if this works.

I am not sure if we are also required to write a minimum number of words for this option but let me just try posting this with a few words. Let me know if there's anything that I need to know about this 3shorts videos.
