Después de unas cuantas semanas sin traer mis interpretaciones, esta semana 180 vuelvo a esta tarima virtual con una canción que se ha convertido en todo un clásico de las bandas de covers de rock en español actuales, sobretodo aquí en nuestro país Venezuela y me refiero al hit "De Caracas a Madrid" de los populares Malanga, una canción que sin duda la mayoría de ustedes la ha escuchado alguna vez y reconocen su estribillo el cual es bastante pegajoso. Aunque realmente este estilo pop rock no es el que toco más frecuentemente ni es mi favorito entre lo géneros del rock, si disfruto escuchar estos temas de vez en cuando para variar un poco del rock más pesado que suelo escuchar, también es parte del repertorio de Cladestinos, la banda con la cual estoy tocando actualmente por eso me pareció una buena elección para mi participación de esta semana, bueno amigos y amigas gracias por acompañarme, espero que disfruten de mi interpretación ¡Nos vemos la próxima semana! nos leemos en los comentarios.

After a few weeks without sharing my performances, this week, week 180, I'm back on this virtual stage with a song that has become a classic among current Spanish-language rock cover bands, especially here in Venezuela. I'm referring to the hit "De Caracas a Madrid" by the popular Malanga, a song that most of you have undoubtedly heard at some point and recognize its catchy chorus. Although this pop-rock style isn't what I play most often, nor is it my favorite among rock genres, I do enjoy listening to these songs from time to time to mix things up a bit from the heavier rock I usually listen to. Para mi participación en esta ocasión decidí hacer algo un poco diferente a lo usual, sé que quizá algunos de ustedes estan acostumbrados a verme con mi guitarra en cada vídeo pero esta vez les traigo una interpretación vocal tipo karaoke, del reconocido grupo Queens Of The Stone Age. Esta canción tuvo bastante difusión en su momento por la radio y en la televisión donde canales como Mtv transmitían frecuentemente su videoclip, personalmente me encanta esta canción me parece que combina diferentes elementos que la hacen original y la ejecución de la batería por parte de Dave Grohl (ex baterista de Nirvana y guitarrista y cantante de Foo Fighters) es sencillamente fenomenal. For my contribution this time, I decided to do something a little different than usual. I know some of you might be used to seeing me with my guitar in every video, but this time I'm bringing you a karaoke-style vocal performance of a song by the renowned band Queens of the Stone Age. This song was quite popular back in the day on radio and television, with channels like MTV frequently airing its music video. Personally, I love this song; I think it combines different elements that make it original, and Dave Grohl's (former drummer of Nirvana and guitarist and singer of Foo Fighters) drumming is simply phenomenal. First of all, I want to thank everyone reading this post and also everyone who works hard in the Music Zone community to provide us with this space. With that said, let's get right into the song I'm bringing you this time: "Wherever You Will Go" by The Calling. Surely some of you remember this song from that era between 2000 and 2010 when this style of alternative rock was quite popular. Bands like Three Doors Down, Goo Goo Dolls, and The Calling are some good examples of this music that flooded radio stations and music video channels back then. I really felt comfortable with this song, thanks in large part to the fact that my vocal range adapted quite well to the original key. Queridos amigos y amigas, en esta ocasión les traigo una interpretación acústica de un gran hit de la agrupación "Men at Work" y se trata de su popular canción "Down Under" la cual estoy seguro que muchos recordarán por su coro extremadamente pegajoso, y es que esta canción es un buen ejemplo de que se puede hacer un gran tema sin demasiadas complicaciones, muchas veces basta con tener un argumento melódico sólido y un estribillo memorable para convertir una canción en todo un éxito. La idea de traer este tema para mi participación de esta semana vino de un ensayo con la anda con la que toco actualmente, "Cladestinos", dónde propusimos añadir esta canción a nuestro repertorio, ya que nos desempeñamos bastante bien con estos géneros alternativos como el reggae y el pop rock, y este tema se ganó su puesto en nuestra lista de canciones para interpretar por su ritmo alegre y melodía pegadiza ¡espero que disfruten mi interpretación! ¡nos leemos en los comentarios!.

Dear friends, this time I bring you an acoustic rendition of a great hit by the band "Men at Work," their popular song "Down Under." I'm sure many of you will remember it for its incredibly catchy chorus. Queridos melómanos que hacen vida en esta comunidad, aquellos de ustedes que me conocen saen que soy amante de géneros musicales "Vintage" como el blues y el rock clásico, y para los que no me conocen, esta interpretación musical será mi carta de presentación. Para esta participación les traigo un solo de blues improvisado sobre una pista instrumental, haciendo mi mejor esfuerzo por expresar toda la pasión y energía que me transmite este estilo musical y especialmente tocar la guitarra "líder" al compás del acompañamiento. Aunque en sus inicios la música blues fue considerada exclusivamente "música de negros" y nisiquiera era considerada música por algunos "académicos", actualmente es innegable la enorme influencia que ha tenido en diversos géneros escuchados en todo el mundo, como el rock, el pop, el R&B, el funk, entre otros, convirtiéndolo en una de las raíces de lo que hoy llamamos "música popular". Dear music lovers who make a living in this community, those of you who know me know that I'm a fan of vintage musical genres like blues and classic rock. For those who don't, this musical performance will be my introduction. For this participation, I bring you an improvised blues solo over an instrumental track, doing my best to express all the passion and energy that this musical style transmits to me, especially playing the lead guitar to the accompaniment. Although in its beginnings, blues music was considered exclusively "black music" and wasn't even considered music by some "academics," today it's undeniable the enormous influence it has had on various genres heard around the world, such as rock, pop, R&B, funk, among others, making it one of the roots of what we now call "popular music." Amigos y amigas así que como buen rockero de corazón y admirador del buen Tío Ozzy lo menos que podía hacer era rendirle homenaje de la mejor manera que se me ocurrió: haciendo música, naturalmente. Para este tributo al gran "príncipe de las tinieblas" decidí hacer un arreglo combinando dos de mis canciones favoritas de Black Sabbath: A National Acrobat y Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, lo cual resultó funcionar muy bien ya que ambos temas están compuestos en la misma tonalidad musical. Sinceramente le coloque bastante cariño y algo de dedicación a este homenaje sencillo pero lleno de sentimiento, añadiendo algunos detalles para hacer la experiencia más completa ¡espero de verdad que lo disfruten! para mí fue muy gratificante realizar este vídeo y me complace compartirlo con ustedes ¡nos leemos en los comentarios!

Friends, as a true rocker at heart and admirer of good old Uncle Ozzy, the least I could do was pay tribute to him in the best way I could think of: by making music, naturally. For this tribute to the great "prince of darkness," I decided to make an arrangement combining two of my favorite Black Sabbath songs: "A National Acrobat" and "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath." It turned out to work very well since both songs are composed in the same musical key. I sincerely put a lot of love and dedication into this simple but heartfelt tribute, adding a few details to make the experience more complete. I truly hope you enjoy it! Como ya les mencioné en publicaciones anteriores, desde hace un par de meses estoy ensayando con la banda "Clandestinos" un grupo de amigos con influencias musicales diversas y una buena química musical. Acontece que hace aproximadamente una semana nuestro bajista Manuel Ruiz nos da la noticia de que estamos invitados a este programa en una televisora de la capital de nuestro estado, y de buen grado aceptamos la invitación y ese mismo fin de semana preparamos un repertorio corto de 4 canciones para interpretar en vivo durante la transmisión del programa.

As I mentioned in previous posts, for a couple of months now I've been rehearsing with the band "Clandestinos," a group of friends with diverse musical influences and good musical chemistry. It just so happened that about a week ago, our bassist Manuel Ruiz told us that we were invited to this program on a television station in our state capital. We gladly accepted the invitation, and that same weekend we prepared a short repertoire of four songs to perform live during the program's broadcast.

Llegamos puntualmente al lugar del programa y comenzamos a descargar los equipos necesarios para la presentación (batería, amplificadores, instrumentos, etc) y luego de una breve espera estábamos en el estudio listos para comenzar el programa con una canción para luego comenzar conlas entrevistas a cada uno de los integrantes

We arrived punctually at the program's location and began to unload the necessary equipment for the presentation (drums, amplifiers, instruments, etc.) and after a short wait we were in the studio ready to start the program with a song and then begin the interviews with each of the members.

La presentadora del programa fue muy amable con nosotros y realmente contribuyó a que el programa transcurriera con fluidez y de forma amena, al terminar el programa todos en el estudio estaban tan entusiasmados que nos pidieron que tocaramos algo más y los complacimos con dos canciones adicionales. Al finalizar nuestra presentación y recoger los equipos, nos fuimos a un reataurante cercano para una merecida celebración ¡todo salió excelente!

The show's host was very kind to us and really helped the show run smoothly and enjoyably. By the end of the show, everyone in the studio was so excited that they asked us to play something else, and we obliged with two additional songs. After our set and packing up our equipment, we headed to a nearby restaurant for a well-deserved celebration. Everything went brilliantly!

En esta ocasión les traigo nuevamente un homenaje al rock en español, esta vez con un cover de los legendarios Enanitos Verdes y su tema "Amores Lejanos". Algo típico de algunas bandas es que suelen ser conocidas por la mayoría de la gente sólo por su canción ó sus canciones más conocidas, que en este caso sería "Lamento Boliviano" el cual es un absoluto himno del rock hispano, pero la banda cuenta con un montón de temas muy buenos que pasan un poco desapercibidos si se comparan con la popularidad del "hit", algo similar podría decirse que sucede con Soda Stereo y su canción "De Música Ligera". Cómo ha sido habitual en mis participaciones hasta ahora, esta interpretación es hecha de forma sencilla, cruda y honesta, acústica, con ligeros detalles de edición y sobretodo con mucho amor por la música ¡espero que les guste! nos leemos en los comentarios.

Esta semana he decidido participar con una canción del grupo Zapato 3, una de las bandas de rock más emblemáticas de nuestro país Venezuela, dónde sus éxitos siguen siendo escuchados como himnos por los amantes de esta cultura y su música se sigue transmitiendo y siendo apreciada por generaciones de rockeros más jóvenes.

Una de las cosas que siempre me ha llamado la atención de esta canción es su nombre, ya que curiosamente "Maya" es la palabra que usan en la cultura y la religión Hindú para referirse a la ilusión del mundo material, "el velo de Maya". Desconozco si los compositores de la canción tomaron este término Hindú como referencia o inspiración para la canción pero siempre me ha parecido interesante creer que hay un vínculo entre ambos, después de todo creo que es bastante común que las bandas de rock hagan referencia a temas filosóficos, religiosos, esotéricos u ocultistas. Gracias por acompañarme hasta aquí amigos, fue divertido grabar este cover, ¡espero que ustedes también lo disfruten!

This week I decided to participate with a song by the group Zapato 3, one of the most emblematic rock bands in our country, Venezuela, where their hits continue to be heard as anthems by lovers of this culture and their music continues to be transmitted and appreciated by younger generations of rockers.

One of the things that has always caught my attention about this song is its name, since curiously "Maya" is the word used in Hindu culture and religion to refer to the illusion of the material world, "the veil of Maya." I don't know if the composers of the song took this Hindu term as a reference or inspiration for the song, but I've always found it interesting to believe there is a link between the two. Para mí participación de esta semana he traído una canción de una de las bandas que innegablemente ha sido una de las más trascendentes en la historia del rock, estamos hablando de Creedence Clearwater Revival, una agrupación que a pesar de su relativamente corta carrera lograron dejar una huella perdurable a través del tiempo, con grandes éxitos como la icónica "Have You Ever Seen The Rain" que aún se siguen escuchando en la actualidad.

Una de las particularidades de esta legendaria banda es su inclinación hacia el sonido tan característico del folk y country en la mayoría de sus temas, lo cual puede notarse en los arreglos instrumentales e incluso la forma de cantar de John Fogerty, dándole ese aire desenfadado y contagioso que se convertiría en el sello de su música. "Who'll Stop The Rain" es uno de los himnos compuestos por la banda considerado considerados clásicos dentro de su repertorio, una canción que captura bastante bien la esencia de la banda, fué una grata experiencia grabar esta interpretación con mucho cariño para todos ustedes, espero haberle hecho justicia a la original ¡nos leemos en los comentarios, espero que disfruten el vídeo!

For my participation this week I have brought a song from one of the bands that has undeniably been one of the most transcendent in the history of rock, we are talking about Creedence Clearwater Revival, a group that despite their relatively short career managed to leave a lasting mark over time, with great hits like the iconic "Have You Ever Seen The Rain" that are still heard today.

One of the peculiarities of this legendary band is its inclination towards the characteristic sound of folk and country in most of its songs, which can be noticed in the instrumental arrangements and even the way John Fogerty sings, giving it that carefree and contagious air that would become the hallmark of its music. "Who'll Stop The Rain" is one of the anthems composed by the band considered classics within its repertoire, a song that captures quite well the essence of the band, it was a pleasant experience recording this interpretation with much love for all of you, I hope I have done justice to the original! En esta ocasión les traigo otro clásico del rock en español con este gran éxito de Hombres G que seguramente muchos de ustedes van a cantar conmigo mientras ven el vídeo. La música de Hombres G sin duda marcó una época y dejó una huella imborrable en la historia del rock hispanohablante, y canciones cómo esta aún resuenan con el público más joven y permanecen como un legado que a veces se mezcla con un poco de nostalgia.

Les confieso que aunque conozco esta canción desde hace muchos años, nunca me propuse aprenderla ya que de adolescente me interesaba más el rock más pesado, y ha sido recientemente que pasé a formar parte del proyecto musical "Clandestinos" que me he aprendido esta canción ya que forma parte del repertorio de la banda, ya la verdad es un tema muy divertido de tocar y disfruté mucho grabarlo para todos ustedes con mucho cariño ¡espero lo disfruten!

This time, I bring you another Spanish rock classic with this great hit by Hombres G, which many of you will surely sing along with while watching the video. The music of Hombres G undoubtedly marked an era and left an indelible mark on the history of Spanish-speaking rock, and songs like this one still resonate with younger audiences and remain a legacy that sometimes mingles with a touch of nostalgia.

Sé que la siguiente frase quizá suene algo trillada pero la canción que les interpreto para esta ocasión es realmente especial, al menos para mí. Recuerdo que estando muy joven la escuché en varias ocasiones sonando en la radio y recuerdo muy bien la forma en que me atraía y fascinaba la melodía de esta canción, de una manera casi hipnótica.

The Man Who Sold The World es una canción compuesta originalmente por David Bowie, aunque quizás su versión más conocida es la del grupo de rock Nirvana, y es justamente esta última la está ligada a mis recuerdos, de aquellos momentos en los que comenzaba a adentrarme más profundamente en mis reflexiones sobre el poder emocional de la música. He interpretado este tema de la forma más honesta y sencilla posible, tratando de mantener la esencia de la versión de Cobain y al mismo tiempo manteniendo mi estilo natural ¡espero disfruten el vídeo! nos leemos en los comentarios ¡bendiciones y éxitos para todos!

I know the following phrase may sound a bit trite, but the song I'm performing for you on this occasion is truly special, at least to me. I remember hearing it on the radio several times when I was very young, and I vividly remember how the melody of this song attracted and fascinated me, almost hypnotically.
