Así que tiene ese swing latino que se le atribuye a la salsa... Willie a sus 75 años sigue siendo un personaje histórico en la salsa, y aun y cuando llegue el día en el que deje este plano terrenal, su legado continuará transcendiendo las fronteras del tiempo....

Esta es una colaboración entre 2 grandes artistas de la salsa, Héctor Lavoe y Willie Colón (1973)... Es una pieza con una potencia sonora increíble, los trombones ejecutan cada nota con mucho carácter, es como un grito que hacen para poder ser escuchado, para que se escuche el mensaje que quieren transmitir... La canción expresa un optimismo por la persona, ya que pese a muchas dificultades de la vida, este sabe que algún día por lo menos, tendrá un día bueno, el día de su suerte, el día en el que todo cambie para bien, y este ha de ser antes de su muerte...

This is a collaboration between two great salsa artists, Héctor Lavoe and Willie Colón (1973). It is a piece with incredible sound power; the trombones play each note with great character, like a cry to be heard, so that the message they want to convey can be heard. Todos esperamos un día como este, y mucho más si vivimos la dura situación que enfrentamos a diario los venezolanos e incluso nuestros hermanos cubanos, nosotros simplemente no tenemos la culpa de que nuestros "líderes" no administren de forma correcta los bienes del país, no quisiera entrar en detalles políticos, pero lo que no pudieron hacer en 25 años un grupo de políticos, en menos de un mes lo comenzó a hacer la administración de Estados Unidos... Espero que esto sea para mejor, y que podamos algún día tener esta libertad que tanto deseamos...

Esta trata de la guerra emocional que enfrenta una persona cuando rompe una relación, la canción habla específicamente de una mujer la cual fue lastimada por un hombre, y quiere dejar esta pena a un lado para concentrar sus sentimientos en diversión, de hecho algo que me sorprendió es el término “Tusa” en Colombia se asocia a un sentimiento de vacío y nostalgia amorosa....

Es impresionante cuan valor sentimental puede tener una canción, trayendo de vuelta todos los aspectos de ese amor... No quiere decir que alguna canción sea mala, sino que algo de ella significo mucho para ti en algún momento de tu vida, y esto aunque parezca extraño puede ayudar a sanar las heridas....

No tengo palabras para expresar la alegría que siento, ya son casi 6 años de esta hermosa familia, y 4 de estos 6 años son los que llevo siendo parte de esta hermosa comunidad, es impresionante como pasa el tiempo ¿no es así?... Y cada vez celebramos con grandes eventos, este es uno de ellos, y no quería quedarme sin acompañarlos ❤️

I can't express how happy I am. It's been almost six years since this wonderful family was formed, and I've been part of this wonderful community for four of those six years. It's amazing how time flies, isn't it? We always celebrate with big events, and this is one of them. I didn't want to miss out on being with you all ❤️

La temática es simple, pero a la vez compleja... "Original Song", un arte que es difícil de dominar, pues el componer, cantar e interpretar una canción es una tarea bastante exigente... Vi la temática y quería participar, pero tengo un pequeño inconveniente, no se cantar... Aún así no me quedé atrás, igual quise celebrar con todos, y para ello me puse manos a la obra, así que, entre versos y palabras construí un poema el cual dedico a esta hermosa familia!

The theme is simple, yet complex... “Original Song,” an art that is difficult to master, since composing, singing, and performing a song is quite a demanding task... I saw the theme and wanted to participate, but I have a small problem: I can't sing... Even so, I didn't want to be left behind. I still wanted to celebrate with everyone, so I got to work and, between verses and words, I wrote a poem that I dedicate to this beautiful family!

Se titula "300 palabras" en honor a las 300 semanas que cumple nuestra comunidad, y por supuesto el poema tiene exactamente estas 300 palabras, al menos en español... En ingles puede que tenga un poco más o quizás un poco menos, supongo que depende de la traducción... Quería intentar cantar el poema con alguna pista musical, pero estoy algo enfermo así que esto no se pudo... Igual, a capella se logra apreciar mucho más lo que quería expresar...

It is titled “300 Words” in honor of our community's 300th week, and of course the poem has exactly 300 words, at least in Spanish... In English it may have a little more or maybe a little less, I guess it depends on the translation... I wanted to try singing the poem with some musical accompaniment, but I'm a little sick so that wasn't possible... Anyway, a cappella you can appreciate much more what I wanted to express...

Dios creo este mundo perfecto, y cada aspecto del universo ha dejado una huella plasmada, si observamos la noche entendemos que es oscura, pero tenemos muchas estrellas que nos alumbran para proporcionar claridad, además de que tenemos una enorme estructura resplandeciente que llamamos luna, un hermoso regalo de Dios, para que aun en la noche tengamos luz...

La luna, no solo destaca por su belleza, sino que también ha sido la fuente de múltiples composiciones musicales, que hacen referencia a la misma... Las que he traído el día de hoy no pertenecen al mismo compositor, pero sin embargo la expresión musical que genera cada pieza es similar, ambos compositores son estadounidenses, el primero de ellos es Henry Mancini quien compuso el tema Moon River, una pieza musical que impresiona por su ternura, la ejecución instrumental debe ser delicada y suave, para así no perder la esencia que quería transmitir el compositor...

La segunda pieza fue compuesta por Bart Howard que lleva el título de Fly Me to the Moon, aunque entiendo que al principio recibía el nombre de "In Other Words", pero se popularizo el primer nombre mencionado por el primer verso que dice la canción... Ambas piezas son hermosas, con ritmos ligeramente distintos, en esta oportunidad he interpretado las 2 obras musicales en la tonalidad de Si bemol Mayor para trombón.

The second piece was composed by Bart Howard and is titled Fly Me to the Moon, although I understand that it was originally called “In Other Words,” but the first name became popular because of the first verse of the song... Both pieces are beautiful, with slightly different rhythms. On this occasion, I have performed the two musical works in the key of B-flat major for trombone.

"Las Avispas" es una pieza musical compuesta por Juan Luis Guerra en el año 2004 para su álbum "Para Ti", según investigue es una combinación de música tropical y bachata, la primera de ellas relacionada más al merengue, uno de mis géneros musicales preferidos, no es una pieza fácil de interpretar de hecho grabe varias veces este cover hasta tener este resultado, por supuesto que no es el mejor pero estoy conforme con el resultado...

" Las Avispas" is a song composed by Juan Luis Guerra in 2004 for his album Para Ti. According to my research, it is a combination of tropical music and bachata, the former being more closely related to merengue, one of my favorite musical genres. En muchas partes del mundo ya están celebrando el año nuevo, países como japón, corea (norte y sur), Australia, Nueva Zelanda, India.... Por mencionar algunos, pero aquí en Venezuela faltan aproximadamente unas 9 horas para celebrar nosotros también, no puedo evitar sentir algo de nostalgia por todo lo que viví este año, cada logro y sueños cumplidos, así como cada meta que falta por culminar...

Si le preguntamos a un pequeño para él ¿qué significa la navidad? probablemente responda: juguetes, diversión, alegría y comida... Muy pocos de ellos responderá que el significado va mucho más allá de todo esto....

Me siento muy feliz porque ya tengo 5 diciembres consecutivos compartiendo música junto a esta hermosa familia, espero seguir haciéndolo, y que sigamos creciendo juntos!... Este fue un año bastante fuerte, complicado en alguno aspectos, pero estamos aquí de pie, junto a esta hermosa familia, para seguir compartiendo nuestra música y lograr lo que cita el lema de la comunidad, Llevar la paz al mundo a través de la música.... Quiero dar gracias a Dios por cada cosa buena y también mala, pues todo tiene un propósito, se que el año entrante sera diferente y podremos disfrutar otro diciembre juntos familia... Diciembre siempre ha sido el mes más esperado durante todo el año... La época más bonita, porque es donde solemos reencontrarnos con esas personas las cuales tenemos bastante tiempo sin ver, familiares y amigos... Todos juntos, compartiendo, riendo y siendo muy felices, aunque entiendo que muchas personas por algún motivo no suelen disfrutar estas festividades, quizás por alguna perdida, o probablemente por factores religiosos o incluso económicos, o quizás simplemente les da igual...

The most beautiful time, because it's when we usually reconnect with people we haven't seen in a long time, family and friends... Se hizo muy popular, pues su letra y música eran realmente buenas y pegajosas, una obra de arte!

Ahora, para entrar un poco en detalle con el tema que escogí para esta semana, tenemos que trasladarnos al año 2021 momento en el que apenas nos comenzábamos a recuperar de los estragos que había dejado la pandemia del COVID-19, las calles estuvieron solas por muchísimo tiempo, salir a comprar era todo un riesgo, y aunque la medicina trató de erradicar la enfermedad con técnicas de higiene y vacunas poco estudiadas, esto no evito que a todos nos afectara el virus...

Fue un periodo bastante duro, pero nos hizo reflexionar, darnos cuenta de lo valioso que es el amor, la importancia de perdonar y querer a alguien mientras pueda ser querido...

No voy a mentir, desde que vi el tema para esta semana, no pude evitar pensar en la canción "Volveré" de Rubby Perez (Q.E.P.D.) una tremenda pieza, de toda una leyenda musical... "Volveré" tiene un valor sentimental único, pues antes de grabar esta canción Rubby tuvo algunos inconvenientes con el director de la orquesta a la que el pertenecía, Wilfrido Vargas...

I'm not going to lie, ever since I saw this week's theme, I couldn't help but think of Rubby Perez's (RIP) song “Volveré” (I'll Be Back), a tremendous piece by a true musical legend... “Volveré” has unique sentimental value, because before recording this song, Rubby had some issues with the director of the orchestra he belonged to, Wilfrido Vargas...

Una controversia entre 2 canciones, "El loco en la luna" y "Volveré", resulta que el tema musical "Volveré" estaba destinado a ser grabado por el artista Jorge Gámez, y "El loco en la luna" para Rubby Perez, esto según Gómez.... Perez por su parte, menciona que el grabo este tema musical luego de ser expulsado de la orquesta de Wilfrido Vargas, ya que en un momento determinado el cometería una pequeña imprudencia la cual castigaría Wilfrido de forma muy severa!.... Esa misma noche de ser expulsado de esta orquesta, a las 3:00 am recibe una llamada de nada más y nada menos "Bienvenido Rodriguez", quien le dice vente ahora mismo que vamos a grabar...

Sin embargo, aunque no la pude interpretar igual quería dar un relato de la pieza, todo ello como un humilde homenaje al difunto artista, que en paz descanse ❤️🙏

I couldn't perform Rubby Perez's “Volveré” because, as Rubby himself mentioned, it's a song with many high notes, quite complex, apart from the fact that it was quite difficult for me to find any musical references for the piece, I'm talking about sheet music... Ahora para entrar un poco más en detalle, la canción que he traído para esta semana también lleva por título "Volvere", pero al contrario de la pieza anterior, esta es una balada del artista Diego Verdaguer (1998) Una canción que posee una expansión sentimental abundante, alguien que no quiere despedirse, pero aun así lo hace con la salvedad de que va a regresar ❤️... No a todos nos ha tocado, pero dejar atrás todo lo que tienes, por lo que has luchado es lo más desgarrador que podrías imaginar, y aunque podrías regresar en cualquier momento, no sabes lo que sucederá más adelante, si por casualidad tendrás una partida física, y no podrás volver....

La versión de salsa estaba muy bien, es bastante buena pero los comentarios del video son rompe corazones, de cada 10 comentarios 9 son de venezolanos lamentándose por estar lejos, deseando que la situación algún día cambie para poder regresar a su amado país, ver y abrazar a sus familias, volver a respirar el aire de Venezuela ❤️

The ballad is beautiful, but I prefer other genres, so I started looking for a salsa version of this piece, but I found an image that broke my heart and brought tears to my eyes...
