Está semana que recién terminó fue de receso docente, los niños descansan de la escuela y a los padres nos toca hacer magia para mantenerlos entretenidos en casa. La mejor opción muchas veces es sacarlos de paseo, pero eso también se hace un poco complejo ya que en Cuba el salir a pasear muchas veces en vez de un disfrute resulta una molestia ( los padres cubanos con niños seguro me entienden).

El transporte público ( en el que nos movemos la mayoría) está cada vez más escaso y caro debido a la crisis de todo tipo que estamos viviendo, pero los niños no tienen la culpa y los padres siempre hacemos el esfuerzo por qué los niños pasen un momento agradable. Así que, nos fuimos a la Feria Infantil El trompo!

This week that just ended was a teaching recess, the children rest from school and it is up to us parents to do magic to keep them entertained at home. The best option is often to take them for a walk, but that also becomes a bit complex since in Cuba going out for a walk is often a nuisance instead of enjoyment (Cuban parents with children surely understand me).

Public transportation (in which most of us move) is becoming increasingly scarce and expensive due to the crisis of all kinds that we are living, but parents always do our best to make sure that the children have a nice time. So, we went to the Children's Fair El trompo!

Organizada por el Fondo de Bienes Culturales, está feria está pensada y dedicada a los niños, quienes tenían acceso gratuito al lugar. Por suerte para nosotros nos encontrábamos cerca de su sede en La Habana, ubicada en la estación cultural de Línea y 18, en el municipio Plaza de la Revolución.

Me impresionó la variedad de actividades recreativas que se presentaron. También había un espacio comercial con venta de materiales escolares, juguetes, ropa, artesanías y diversas opciones gastronómicas. Aunque algunos precios eran algo elevados, la gastronomía ofrecía muchas alternativas asequibles.

Organized by the Cultural Assets Fund, this fair is designed and dedicated to children, who had free access to the place. Luckily for us we were near their headquarters in Havana, located at the cultural station on Línea and 18, in the Plaza de la Revolución municipality.

I was impressed by the variety of recreational activities that were presented. There was also a commercial space selling school supplies, toys, clothing, crafts and various gastronomic options. Although some prices were somewhat high, the gastronomy offered many affordable alternatives.

Lo mejor fueron las opciones culturales. Este sitio de Línea y 18 es un local bastante amplio, antiguamente era una fábrica, y hay mucho espacio. Al final del local montaron un escenario y crearon un espacio para que los niños, y los adultos también, pudieran disfrutar del espectáculo cultural que comienza a las diez de la mañana.

Payasos, bailes, canciones, desfiles de moda, acróbatas, equilibristas, además de proyectos comunitarios de artes plásticas, clases de baile y deportes, llenaron el lugar de alegría, con los niños como principales protagonistas. A mí, me encantaron todas las presentaciones, y mi niña se divirtió muchísimo, bailo y canto, y pasó una mañana super divertida.

The best part was the cultural options. This place on Linea and 18th is quite a large venue, it used to be a factory, and there is plenty of space. At the end of the place they set up a stage and created a space for children, and adults too, to enjoy the cultural show that started at ten o'clock in the morning.

Clowns, dances, songs, fashion shows, acrobats, tightrope walkers, as well as community art projects, dance and sports classes, filled the place with joy, with the children as the main protagonists. I loved all the presentations, and my little girl had a great time, she danced and sang, and had a super fun morning.

Este se encuentra en la calle Teniente Rey 9, entre Oficios y Mercaderes. Su horario de visita es de martes a sábados, desde las 9:30 AM hasta las 5:00 PM, excepto los domingos, que cierra a las 1:00 PM. La diferencia con el Acuario Nacional es que aquí se exhiben diferentes especies de peces que habitan solamente en las aguas dulces de Cuba.

Durante el período de la pandemia de COVID-19, este lugar estuvo cerrado, pero fue restaurado y reabrió sus puertas al público con un nuevo diseño y ambientación. Al ingresar, nos encontramos con grandes y coloridos carteles informativos que nos permiten conocer la gran diversidad de especies que habitan en nuestras aguas y las de las otras regiones del Caribe.

Me encantó el interior del acuario, es un sitio pequeño, pero con el espacio bien distribuido y muy acogedor que nos brinda la sensación de estar en el fondo de alguno de nuestros ríos. Con grandes peceras y una iluminación tenue y agradable. Hay varios bancos de madera donde sentarse a admirar las peceras, y lo mejor para mí, es que estaba climatizado. Después de caminar por las calles de La Habana agradecí enormemente el agradable cambio de temperatura que sentí al entrar 🌡️.

Lo que más llamó mi atención fue poder ver un Manjuarí, considerado el pez de agua dulce más antiguo que habita en Cuba. Es un fósil viviente que lamentablemente se encuentra en peligro de extinción debido, entre otras cosas, al cambio climático que afecta la temperatura del agua donde habita.

El guía de este lugar nos habló extensamente sobre esta curiosa especie y los peligros a los que se enfrenta. También nos explicó algunos detalles sobre el diseño y la ambientación del lugar.

Fue una visita muy agradable donde pude descansar y relajarme mientras admiraba la diversidad de especies tan hermosas que habitan en nuestras aguas, algo que seguramente no podré ver fácilmente en su hábitat natural.

Espero que tengan la oportunidad de visitar este el Aquiarium de La Habana. Aquellos que, como yo, no lo han hecho aún, estoy seguro de que les encantará.

I have always thought that the only Aquarium that existed in Havana was the National Aquarium, until I discovered a few days ago that there is another one in the Historic Center of Old Havana called: Aquarivm of Havana.

It is located at 9 Teniente Rey Street, between Oficios and Mercaderes. Its visiting hours are from Tuesday to Saturday, from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM, except on Sundays, when it closes at 1:00 PM. The difference with the National Aquarium is that here are exhibited different species of fish that live only in the fresh waters of Cuba.

During the period of the COVID-19 pandemic, this place was closed, but it was restored and reopened its doors to the public with a new design and ambience. Upon entering, we find large and colorful informative signs that allow us to learn about the great diversity of species that inhabit our waters and those of other Caribbean regions.

I loved the inside of the aquarium, it is a small place, but with a well distributed and very cozy space that gives us the feeling of being at the bottom of one of our rivers. With large fish tanks and a dim and pleasant lighting. There are several wooden benches where you can sit and admire the fish tanks, and the best thing for me is that it was air-conditioned. After walking through the streets of Havana, I was very grateful for the pleasant change of temperature I felt when I entered 🌡️.

What caught my attention the most was to see a Manjuarí, considered the oldest freshwater fish living in Cuba. It is a living fossil that unfortunately is in danger of extinction due, among other things, to climate change that affects the temperature of the water where it lives.

The guide of this place talked to us extensively about this curious species and the dangers it faces. He also explained some details about the design and ambiance of the place.

It was a very pleasant visit where I was able to rest and relax while admiring the diversity of beautiful species that inhabit our waters, something that I will surely not be able to see easily in their natural habitat.

Este es un poblado dónde predominan los edificios de micro brigadas, y el poco entretenimiento jeje. Recuerdo que cuando era adolescente había una o dos discotecas, pero ya los lugares donde salir a pasear un buen rato dejaron de funcionar. Los parques también, la mayoría están clausurados y sus atracciones se han ido deteriorando y rompiendo, por lo que no tengo muchas opciones a dónde llevar de paseo a mi niña de cinco años. Sin embargo, a veces las cosas cambian para bien, y desde hace tres fines de semana tenemos actividades recreativas los sábados y domingos en el barrio 🎉.

My neighborhood is called San Agustín. According to the Cuban encyclopedia Ecured it has approximately 40,000 inhabitants, based on data updated in 2010, I am sure that at present we are a little less. Although it has a saint's name, it is actually named after the first person to settle here with his family, called: Agustín Prado González.

This is a town where the micro brigade buildings predominate, and the little entertainment jeje. I remember when I was a teenager there were one or two discotheques, but the places to go out for a good time no longer work. The parks too, most of them are closed and their attractions have been deteriorating and breaking down, so I don't have many options where to take my five year old girl for a ride. However, sometimes things change for the better, and for the last three weekends we have had recreational activities on Saturdays and Sundays in the neighborhood 🎉.

Estas actividades se llevan a cabo en un parque cercano a nuestro edificio llamado "La Ceiba", debido a que solía haber un gran árbol de ceiba plantado allí. Lamentablemente, un rayo 🌩lo alcanzó y poco a poco se fue secando hasta que fue cortado, eso creo, no sé bien la historia, el caso es que el árbol ya no existe, pero su nombre si, y es en este lugar que trajeron y habilitaron varios aparatos mecánicos.

El sitio se llenó enseguida de muchas personas, todos querían ver y participar de la novedad, el lugar estaba repleto de adolescentes, madres con niños y hasta adultos, ya que la mayoría de las atracciones estaban diseñadas más para adultos que para niños. Me asombró muchísimo el tamaño de los aparatos, eran bastante grandes y no aptos para cardíacos. Algunos eran bastante intensos. Por todo el parque se escuchaban los gritos de júbilo (o de miedo, jeje) de aquellos que se encontraban disfrutando de los entretenimientos.

These activities take place in a park near our building called " The Ceiba", because there used to be a large ceiba tree planted there. Unfortunately, a lightning 🌩 hit it and little by little it dried up until it was cut down, I think so, I don't know the story, the thing is that the tree no longer exists, but its name does, and it is in this place that they brought and set up several mechanical devices.

The place was immediately filled with many people, everyone wanted to see and participate in the novelty, the place was full of teenagers, mothers with children and even adults, since most of the attractions were designed more for adults than for children. I was really amazed at the size of the apparatuses, they were quite large and not suitable for cardiacs. Some were quite intense. Throughout the park you could hear the screams of joy (or fear, jeje) of those who were enjoying the entertainments.

Personalmente, no me atreví a subirme a ninguno de ellos, los veía desde donde estaba y pensaba ¡que ni amarrada me montaba en uno! Los aparatos se movían a gran velocidad, daban vueltas de 360 grados, lo que hacía que en algún momento las personas quedaran cabeza abajo. Eso me hizo recordar las pocas veces que me he subido a una montaña rusa, y la sensación que se siente de tener mariposas en el estómago, cuando vamos en caída libre, y siempre me pongo nerviosa. Creo que ya mis años de tanta emoción pasaron. Imagino que por eso las personas gritaban, seguramente la adrenalina estaba en su punto máximo. Además, estas atracciones tenían nombres bastante peculiares que confirmaron mi decisión de no subirme a ellos: El Diablo, Bamboleo Torre Blanca, El Castigador. Había también un carrusel y un trencito para que los más pequeñitos pudieran disfrutar. A mi niña le encantó el tren, el carrusel 🎠 no tanto, porque iba un poco rápido y casi se cae del caballo, jeje pobrecita. Pero el trenecito fue perfecto para ella. Se subió en todos los vagones y, por último, en la cabina del conductor.

Personally, I didn't dare to get on them, I could see them from where I was and I thought that I wouldn't even get on one of them! The devices moved at high speed, they made 360-degree turns, which meant that at some point people were upside down. That made me remember the few times I have been on a roller coaster, and the feeling of having butterflies in my stomach when we go in free fall, and I always get nervous. I think I'm past my years of excitement. I imagine that's why people were screaming, surely the adrenaline was at its peak. Besides, these attractions had quite peculiar names that confirmed my decision not to ride them: The Devil, Bamboleo White Tower, The Punisher. There was also a carousel and a little train for the little ones to enjoy. My little girl loved the train, the carousel 🎠 not so much, because it was going a little fast and she almost fell off the horse, jeje poor little girl. But the little train was perfect for her. She rode in all the cars and finally in the driver's cabin.

Estas actividades recreativas se han mantenido durante varias semanas. A veces cambian de atracciones y traen un castillo inflable y un trampolín, este último es el que más le gusta a mi niña (María Claudia), le encanta saltar en el aire y caer, y así se pasa un buen rato. Por tanto, por ahora ya le tengo el entretenimiento de fin de semana asegurado.

Es muy bueno que realicen este tipo de actividades, así podemos relajarnos un rato y cambiar nuestra rutina de fin de semana. María Claudia se emociona cuando sabe que la voy a llevar al parque, al punto que se la pasa todo el día preguntándome que cuando nos vamos. Ella lo disfruta mucho, y yo también, aunque no monte los aparatos.

These recreational activities have been going on for several weeks. Sometimes they change the attractions and bring a bouncy castle and a trampoline, the latter is the one my little girl (María Claudia) likes the most, she loves to jump in the air and fall, and she has a good time. So, for now I already have her weekend entertainment assured.

It is very good that they do this kind of activities, so we can relax for a while and change our weekend routine. Maria Claudia gets excited when she knows that I am going to take her to the park, to the point that she spends the whole day asking me when we are going. She enjoys it a lot, and so do I, even though I don't ride the equipment.

Greetings to everyone in this great Wednesday Walk community!
There is nothing more pleasant and revitalizing than being by the sea. I have written about it in many posts lately, but it is impossible to resist its charm. I live on an island and the sea is part of my identity, it is an obligatory landscape for all Cubans, although not all of us live near it. However, I dare to say with complete certainty that there is no Cuban who does not know the pleasant sensation of being next to this great blue that extends beyond our sight.

This was a girls' outing, one afternoon in the company of my little girl and my sister. We went to Club Havana, a place located in the municipality of Playa, in the Jaimanitas district. A very cosy facility next to the coast that also has a swimming pool, cafeteria, bar, among other services, designed to make the day as pleasant as possible. The three of us had a great time together, we laughed, we chatted (my sister and I gossiped 😇), we had lunch, we enjoyed some time by the sea.

It was an afternoon to relax and have fun, especially for my little girl, who had a lot of fun building a sand castle, a "castle" in her own way, of course. On this day we didn't wear swimming costumes, so we could only dip our feet in the sea water. Although the day was not ideal for swimming on the beach because it was cloudy.

In the morning, the day was sunny, but sometimes at this time of year it tends to get cloudy and rainy after midday, so the sea was not as deep blue as it usually is. However, it was a relief to see the sun hide, as even though it is October, the heat is still quite intense.

The beach strip was very well equipped, with plenty of palm trees and umbrellas to protect you from the sun, as well as sun loungers and water bikes. Although there were few people enjoying the water that day, I felt like taking a dip. Although I live surrounded by the sea, I rarely go to the beach, which reminds me of a saying that you don't always value what you have jaja, so I think I should enjoy the beach more.

Being by the sea changed our mood. My little girl was very happy, and wanted to take off her shoes to feel the water on her feet, I could not deny her that pleasure, although the sea water was a bit cold, because of the cloudy day.

The sea is beautiful when the day is sunny, when it shines in the sunlight it offers a beautiful spectacle. I can't deny that a sunrise or sunset by the sea is beautiful, but personally I am especially drawn to cloudy, sunless days with grey skies. I am captivated by the sense of mystery that such days have and the grayish blue and silver tone that the sea reflects. Everything takes on a calmer appearance, and there is a sense of calm in the surroundings. In general, I enjoy cloudy and rainy days, even if I'm not by the sea. I guess it's because we are almost always under the influence of bright sunny days, and as I said, sometimes we need a bit of what we don't have.

I think I should do these walks more often (I wish I could always). I left here very relaxed, it is true that the sea is a good therapy against stress.

No hay nada más agradable y revitalizador que estar junto al mar. Últimamente he escrito en muchas publicaciones sobre él, pero es imposible resistirse a su encanto. Vivo en una isla y el mar forma parte de mi identidad, es un paisaje obligado para todos los cubanos, aunque no todos vivimos cerca de él. Sin embargo, me atrevo a decir con total seguridad que no hay cubano que no conozca la agradable sensación de estar junto a este gran azul que se extiende más allá de donde alcanza nuestra vista.*

Este fue un paseo de chicas, una tarde en compañía de mi niña y mi hermana. Nos fuimos hasta el Club Habana, un lugar que se encuentra en el Municipio Playa, en el reparto de Jaimanitas. Una instalación muy acogedora junto a la costa que cuenta además con piscina, cafetería, bar, entre otros servicios, diseñados para pasar el día lo más agradable posible. Lo pasamos muy bien las tres juntas, nos reímos, charlamos ( mi hermana y yo, chismeamos ) almorzamos, disfrutamos un rato junto al mar.

Fue una tarde para relajarnos y divertirnos, sobre todo para mi niña, que se entretuvo mucho construyendo un castillo de arena, un "castillo" a su manera, claro . Este día no llevábamos traje de baño, así que solo nos pudimos mojar los pies en el agua del mar. Aunque el día no estaba ideal para bañarse en la playa porque estaba nublado.

Por la mañana, el día estaba soleado, pero a veces en esta época del año suele nublarse y llover después del mediodía, por lo que el mar no lucía ese intenso color azul que suele tener. Sin embargo, fue un alivio que el sol se ocultara, ya que a pesar de que estamos en el mes de octubre, el calor es bastante intenso.

La franja de playa estaba muy bien acondicionada, con muchas palmeras y sombrillas para protegerse del sol, así como tumbonas para descansar y bicicletas acuáticas. Aunque ese día había pocas personas disfrutando del agua me dieron ganas de darme un chapuzón. Aunque vivo rodeada de mar, voy muy poco a la playa, lo cual me recuerda un refrán que dice que uno no siempre valora lo que tiene jaja, así que creo que debería disfrutar más de la playa.

Estar junto al mar nos cambió el estado de ánimo. Mi niña estaba muy alegre, y quiso quitarse los zapatos para sentir el agua en sus pies, no pude negarle ese placer, aunque el agua de mar estaba un poco fría, por lo nublado del día.

El mar es precioso cuando el día está soleado, cuando brilla bajo la luz del sol ofrece un bello espectáculo. No puedo negar que un amanecer o un atardecer junto al mar es hermoso, pero personalmente me siento especialmente atraída por los días nublados, sin sol y con el cielo gris. Me cautiva esa sensación de misterio que tienen los días asi y el tono azul grisáceo y plateado que refleja el mar. Todo toma una apariencia más tranquila, y se siente calma en los alrededores. En general, disfruto de los días nublados y lluviosos, aunque no esté junto al mar. Imagino que se debe a que casi siempre estamos bajo la influencia de días soleados y brillantes, y como ya dije, a veces necesitamos un poco de lo que no tenemos.

Creo que debería hacer estos paseos más a menudo (ojala siempre pudiera). Salí de aquí muy relajada, es cierto que el mar es una buena terapia contra el estrés.

Greetings to the whole Architecture community. Today I want to share with you a place I went to a few days ago to celebrate a very special occasion: my birthday 🎊! And for this I went to the Hotel National of Cuba, to spend a special moment with my family.

National Hotel of Cuba ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This five-star hotel has always captivated me, not only for its beauty, but also for its history. But of course, in this community we are all architecture lovers, so that is what I am going to tell you about, although architecture and history always go hand in hand.

The Hotel Nacional de Cuba will be 93 years old this December. It is located in 21st Street, corner O, in Vedado, Havana, and has been declared a National Monument for its architectural and cultural value. The mixture of different architectural styles and its beautiful gardens made my visit unforgettable.

Although it was not the first time I had visited the hotel, it had been a long time since my last visit, so I found it even more beautiful than I remembered. This is because the hotel has been refurbished with the aim of restoring it to its original splendor and making it look almost identical to how it did when it was first opened. My visit was at night and although the hotel looks beautiful at any time, you can always appreciate its exteriors better in daylight.

The building is grandiose, to the point that it has been compared to a castle for its luxury and elegance. Upon entering the lobby, I felt like I was in the thirties of the last century, as this is exactly what the hotel looked like in its beginnings. With its lamps, wooden ceilings, tiles on the walls and columns, and even the floor tiles. Materials such as marble and precious woods can be seen in its design. Everything we see is exactly the same as if we were looking at a photograph of the hotel in its early days.

On this special day I was accompanied by my two children, my husband and my sister. We booked at the Cafeteria " The Cinema Corner", a place that I loved for its warm and cozy atmosphere. The hotel also offers the service of three restaurants, in all of them the food is excellent.

When we go out into the gardens, the first thing we find is an extensive terrace, which, as in the interior, has a roof decorated with wooden battens, which is supported by several stone columns that form a beautiful row of continuous arches. In this space, we can delight in the refreshing sea breeze and enjoy the view while relaxing comfortably in a wicker armchair.

It would be sacrilege to visit this place and not end the night in its gardens, which were what I liked the most. For me, the most outstanding beauty of the hotel is this ample space with its magnificent view of the sea and the city's Malecon.

On the way out into the gardens there is a fountain with several palm trees around it. This makes the place look even more attractive and at night it is even more beautiful as it is illuminated in different colors. Needless to say, this was the favorite place of my daughter and all the children who were there that day. They played and ran around the fountain and had fun splashing themselves with water 💦⛲️💦. It was a night to have a good time so I let my daughter be happy!

The Hotel Nacional is located on an elevation from which you can dominate the landscape of part of the city, the sea and the port of Havana. During the day the view is amazing, but at night with the lights of the city, the beauty of the Malecón wall and the whole avenue can be better appreciated.

Personalities

In these gardens is the bar known as The Hall of Fame. Here I was able to find some very interesting things. It is the place where some of the objects that are part of the history of the hotel are kept, and where photographs of all the personalities that have visited the place are exhibited.

The Nacional has been visited by many celebrities, politicians, artists, sportsmen, scientists. Examples of some of them: Ava Gardner, Rita Hayworth, Fred Astaire, Gary Cooper, Walt Disney, Winston Churchill, Nat King Cole, Agustín Lara, Lola Flores, Ernest Hemingway, Joséphine Baker, Jimmy Carter, Alexander Flemming, Yuri Gagarin, Compay Segundo and many more.

The Mafia and the Hotel National

The Italian-American Mafia of the first half of the last century met on more than one occasion in this hotel. It was here that a famous meeting took place between several of the wealthiest Mafia families, led by Charles "Lucky" Luciano, where they shared the emerging gambling business on the island. Some of the objects that existed in the hotel's gaming room are still preserved, such as the original roulette wheel, along with others from that time.

A wonderful evening!

This place can be considered a museum since, as I mentioned earlier, it holds a part of the memories of the country. Different events that are part of Cuban history took place here. Even in its gardens there are two cannons that were part of the defense system of the colonial city, now a World Heritage Site.

It was a special night. One of my best birthdays ever 🤗🎂😃. This hotel is really amazing!

Hotel Nacional de Cuba ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Este hotel con categoría de cinco estrellas siempre me ha cautivado, no solo por su belleza, sino también por su historia. Pero claro, en esta comunidad todos somos amantes de la arquitectura así que sobre eso les vengo a contar, aunque la arquitectura y la historia siempre van de la mano.

El Hotel Nacional de Cuba cumple en el mes de Diciembre 93 años de haber sido inaugurado. Se encuentra en la calle 21, ezq. O del Vedado, en La Habana, y ha Sido declarado Monumento Nacional por su valor arquitectónico y cultural. La mezcla de varios estilos arquitectónicos y de sus hermosos jardines hicieron que mi visita fuera inolvidable.

Aunque no era la primera vez que visitaba el hotel, había pasado mucho tiempo desde mi última visita, por lo que lo encontré aún más hermoso de lo que recordaba. Esto se debe a que el hotel ha sido remodelado con el objetivo de devolverle el esplendor que tuvo en sus inicios y hacer que luzca casi idéntico a como estaba cuando fue inaugurado. Mi visita fue en la noche y aunque el hotel luce hermoso en cualquier momento, siempre se pueden apreciar mejor sus exteriores a la luz del día.

La edificación es grandiosa, al punto que ha sido comparado con un castillo por su lujo y elegancia. Al entrar al lobby, sentí como si estuviera en los años treinta del siglo pasado, ya que así justamente lucía el hotel en sus inicios. Con sus lámparas, techos de madera, azulejos en las paredes y columnas, e incluso las losas del piso. En su diseño se pueden apreciar materiales como el mármol y las maderas preciosas. Todo lo que vemos es exactamente igual a si viéramos una fotografía del hotel en sus inicios.

En este día especial estuve acompañada por mis dos hijos, mi esposo y mi hermana. Reservamos en la Cafetería "El Rincón del Cine" un lugar que me encantó por su ambiente cálido y acogedor. El hotel cuenta además con el servicio de tres restaurantes, en todos estos locales la comida es excelente.

Al salir a sus jardines, lo primero que encontramos es una extensa terraza, que al igual que en el interior, tiene su techo decorado con listones de madera, el que esta sostenido por varias columnas de piedra que forman una hermosa hilera de arcos continuos. En este espacio, podemos deleitarnos con la refrescante brisa marina y disfrutar de la vista mientras nos relajamos cómodamente en una butaca de mimbre.

Sería un sacrilegio visitar este lugar y no terminar la noche en sus jardines, que fueron lo que más me gustó. Para mí, la belleza más destacada del hotel es este amplio espacio con su magnífica vista al mar y al Malecón de la ciudad.

Al salir a los jardines encontramos una fuente con varias palmeras en los alrededores. Con ella el lugar luce aún más bello y de noche es incluso más hermosa ya que se alumbra con diferentes colores. No hace falta decir que este fue el lugar favorito de mi hija y de todos los niños que estaban allí ese día. Jugaron y corrieron alrededor de la fuente y se divirtieron salpicándose con agua 💦⛲️💦. Esa era una noche para pasarla bien así que deje que mi nena fuera feliz!

El Hotel Nacional se encuentra sobre una elevación desde la cual se puede dominar el paisaje de parte de la ciudad, del mar y del puerto habanero. De día la vista es asombrosa, pero en la noche con las luces de la ciudad se aprecia mejor la belleza del muro del Malecón y toda la avenida.

Personalidades

En estos jardines se encuentra el Bar conocido como El Salón de la Fama. Aquí pude encontrar cosas muy interesantes. Es el lugar donde se guardan algunos de los objetos que forman parte de la historia del hotel, y donde se exhiben fotografías de todas las personalidades que han visitado el lugar.

El Nacional lo han visitado muchos famosos, políticos, artistas, deportistas, científicos. Ejemplo de algunos: Ava Gardner, Rita Hayworth, Fred Astaire, Gary Cooper, Walt Disney, Winston Churchill, Nat King Cole, Agustín Lara, Lola Flores, Ernest Hemingway, Joséphine Baker, Jimmy Carter, Alexander Flemming, Yuri Gagarin, Compay Segundo y muchos más.

La Mafia y el Hotel Nacional

En este hotel la mafia italo -estadounidense de la primera mitad del pasado siglo se reunió en más de una ocasión. Aquí tuvo lugar un famoso encuentro entre varias de las familias más adineradas de la mafia, lideradas por Charles "Lucky" Luciano, donde se repartieron el emergente negocio de los juegos de azar en la isla. Aún se conservan algunos de los objetos que existían en la sala de juegos del hotel, como la ruleta original, junto con otros de esa época.

¡Una noche maravillosa!

Este lugar puede considerarse un museo ya que, como mencioné anteriormente, guarda una parte de las memorias del país. Aquí acontecieron diferentes hechos que son parte de la historia cubana. Incluso en sus jardines se encuentran dos cañones que formaban parte del sistema de defensa de la ciudad colonial, actualmente son Patrimonio de la Humanidad.

Fue una noche especial. Uno de mis mejores cumpleaños 🤗🎂😃. Este hotel es realmente asombroso!
