Usually I'll go sightseeing somewhere fun, sometimes I'll take my friends to enjoy delicious food in an amazing place, sometimes I'll just laze around at home watching anime movies. For this week, I sang a cover song called Munajat Cinta written by Ahmad Dhani, who is a member of the Indonesian band The Rock. The lyrics tell the story of someone who feels lonely every night because no one loves him. Like a rose that is wilting because no one is watering it.

The lyrics in the song are like my story when I was a teenager. Precisely when I was in high school. When I was in high school, I often felt alone. My classmates already had a partner, while I did not. Envy often enveloped me. The girl I liked didn't pay attention to me at all. The difference in wealth and vehicles further complicated the situation. The song of "Munajat Cinta" really reflected my prayer at that time, begging God to give me a lover who accepted me for who I was. Some of you may not be familiar with the type of music I am playing today. I will explain a bit about the Groovy goregrind music genre. It is a subgenre of extreme metal music that combines elements from grindcore, death metal, and goregrind. This music is known for its fast drum patterns, distinctive growling vocals, and lyrics that often touch on extreme themes. Groovy goregrind typically has more varied drum patterns and supports a deeper groove compared to conventional goregrind. This makes the music sound heavier while still maintaining the distinctive brutality of the genre.

In the production process of this song, I used a Bass with distortion effects in audio editing to create a rougher and heavier sound. As for the drums, I used the "RealDrum" application because I do not have drums at home. Audio recording was done using Adobe Audition CC software, while video editing was done with the desktop version of Capcut. In my opinion, both of these software tools were easy to use in producing this piece.

Regarding vocal style technique, I experimented with growling and pigsqueal voices to convey strong emotions in this song. The critical message conveyed through this vocal style is an authentic expression of disappointment towards the political situation and ethics happening in the parliament building. Unfortunately, the vocal technique I used did not meet expectations because I feel that my vocal sound is not terrifying and menacing enough. It seems like I will ask for help from a friend for the next song in filling in the vocals.

I want to share with you the reasons that drove me to choose to cover this song. This song is about Indonesia (my country). In the diversity of cultures, ethnicities, cuisines, and the natural beauty that Indonesia possesses, I feel truly fortunate to be born and raised in this country. Since I was young, I have been amazed by the stories of Indonesia's abundant natural wealth, fertile land that yields plentiful harvests, and abundant natural resources.

However, it cannot be denied that amid all that beauty, Indonesia also faces a number of equally heavy challenges. There are still issues in the uneven education system, worrying unemployment rates, high levels of corruption, as well as social inequality and injustice that continue to haunt. But behind the shadows of those challenges, I still believe that each of us has a crucial role in bringing about positive change in Indonesia.

Through this song, I want to express gratitude and hope that the youth in Indonesia should and must be able to become agents of change that lead Indonesia towards a better future. I always pray and continue to voice through music to keep holding hands, forgetting differences, and together building Indonesia as a nation where every individual has equal opportunities, where justice and prosperity can be enjoyed by all Indonesians.
