“Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise, His greatness is unsearchable” Psalms 145:3. This scripture speaks to the song am doing for week 159 round 3 of hive music festival. Who can compare to our God there is none; in time past and in the present age there is no one. History has seen might men and women who were ascribed with praise and honor. Some thought they had it all and death was something farfetched. The glory and the power which they had caused them to think they were above death. However they are no more today, showing that the glories enjoyed by them was nothing but temporal.
Praise should be attributed to Him who reigns, forever Yahweh the one and only true creator. We can praise mortals but they can never be like our God. The honor and glory given to man cannot out live them. When the person receiving the praises die, the honor fades out; human glory is short lived it dies with the person. Not with our God from generation to generation he deserves praise and worship. His name is great and greatly to be praise, so we need to encourage ourselves to uplift Him on high. This song encourages me to do just that, individually am uplifted to attribute praise to our God the father of our Lord Jesus. The song sooths me as I engage in worship.
Praising and worshipping God is somewhat therapeutic to me. If you are downcast try to praise or worship Yahweh and you will witness you sadness turning into joy. Oh taste and see that bringing praise to a great and might God is so good. Join me in singing praises and adoration in this week presentation. This week am singing a piece regarded as a classic. It’s a beautiful song that steers a spirit of worship to our God and king Jesus Christ. The lyrical content speaks to this fact. Bowing down to our creator, kneeling at his feet can’t be compared to any other job or duty. No higher calling is what the title says, indeed there is no higher calling than worshipping the most high God.
I chose this song because it’s a reminder to me that worshiping God has a great value placed on it. The act of true worship is priceless and it’s indescribable.
When we speak of hierarchy, the position of been a worshipper is placed on a higher ranking. Meaning that, giving glory and honor to our King who is in a ranking of his own, is incomparable. This song carries this very message from my point of view.
It always a joy whenever I lead people in singing this song. In terms of hierarchy as the song writer, wrote there is no greater honor than to bow and kneel before the throne of God. It is a great privilege to be part of a people who carry this assignment.
We always join the host of heaven in engaging in worship, however for them they do it continually. As scripture gives us a picture of what happens in the book of Revelation were the 24 elders bow before the Lord of host day and night. A picture of a higher calling. The awesome atmosphere we experience here on earth will continue when we come into the fullness of his glory. We should looking forward to this or else will be strangers in heaven. The duty of this higher calling, begins here in our mortal bodies, we worship Him not only in words but in our deeds as well be blessed.

As the psalmist writes from the rising of the sun to it setting the name of the Lord be praised. Adonai by Nathaniel Bassey is from this Psalm. I chose this song because it reminds me that I was created to worship the Lord every day of my life. It’s a must for me to do so; the psalmist echo’s these words in one of his Psalters that “let everything that has breath praise the Lord”. Adonai is a song of encouragement to me that uplifts my spirit to praise God. When my day begins I always look for a song to add to my playlist it’s among, the many song I listen to.
The church I congregate in is observing a week of prayer and yesterday during the prayer meeting, I led this very song. I love how the atmosphere changed as many joined me in singing from the rising of the sun to the setting of the same your name is to be hallowed. Indeed his name is to be worshiped His God who chose us when we were nothing. As scripture says “while we were yet sinners Christ died for us. We must remember that he chose us we didn’t choose Him. In our own power it impossible for you and me to draw to Him in our strength. John 6:44 say this “no one can come to me unless the father who sent me draws him”. When we acknowledge this fact praising God, becomes thing that is not difficult for us to do. We will know that it’s a mandate for us and we were created to do just that. I hope this song will encourage you to reverence his name as it has done to me. Lets us remember to fix our eyes on Jesus the author and finisher of our faith. God bless.

Hive Music Festival Week 145 Round 1

In this life no one is exempted from problems, suffering and challenges everyone has their share. However the tribulations we go through differ one from another. The problem maybe similar but how it is addressed varies from person to person. The question maybe where do you run to in time of adversities, we all have that place, that individual or person that comes to our aid. For me my faith holds me when am faced with different situations. For this week the song am doing an instrumental cover for speaks of the trust and faith I have in Jesus. The song is still done by Hillsong, I am really encouraged whenever I listen to this song. It uplifts me in my times of need. Christ comes through for me, like the song says in verse number two “find rest my soul in Christ alone know his power in quietness and trust.”
The psalmist David in Psalms 46:1 says “God is our present help in times of trouble”. This psalm is always alive in my life and I can attest to it. In times of ups and downs or in storms his always present. The other scripture that solidify Christ presence in adversity is Isaiah 59:19 “ When the enemy comes in like flood God raises a standard against him. These potions of scripture are so profound in life’s journey. The echo the assurance of Christ promises, he will never leave us nor forsake us. And he says in John 16:33 “ in this world will have trouble however we should be of good cheer he has overcome this world.
So when doubts arise find in encouragement in songs like still that resonates with scripture. I may not know what you are going through and where you run to when you are in trouble; what I can say is try Jesus.

When I stay away from prayer I feel so lost, it’s the same whenever I don’t take time to study or read the Bible. A life without prayer and Gods words is a chase after the wind. It does not bring joy and peace. At times I wonder how people who don’t have faith in Christ feel like, yes I have been there however my situation is kind of different because my father was a preacher. Staying in a home that was built on biblical values protected me from going completely astray so I would say I had some faith in Jesus. This is why I wonder how some people manage to live outside faith.

The song I chose for week 140 speaks about my dependence on God and his word. Just as every mortal out there rely on oxygen to live so is a believer in Christ dependent on the Holy Spirit and the word. Breathe by Michael W Smith really ministers to me, through ups and downs in my walk with Christ. It’s a song that speaks to my heart, especially the part we’re the writer says am desperate for you and am lost without. This is so me in these lyrics, I can’t do life devoid of God.

Knowing him is something so amazing, it’s unexplainable. Indeed he is the air I breathe a God who owns my life. He holds my entire life in his hands. His word is food to my soul daily. As the psalmist say your is a lamp unto my feet and a light to my path. I truly attest to these words, this is the reason I feel lost when am far from his word. How can you find your way if you are in a dark place with no light? It’s is impossible as it in physical so it’s when it comes to spiritual situations.

The past few days I have realised that so much can be done if you are in the music space. There is so much you can offer musically be it singing, writing songs, been a music producer and playing musical instruments. Music has a variety of things that one can choose to do.
That been said this week I chose to do an instrumental cover for Revelation song by Don Moen. I love the simplicity of the chord progression of this song, and how the musical instruments were harmonised. Moreover, coming to the lyrical content of the song it’s so scriptural and powerful. I was surprised to discover that non among the people who have sung this song wrote it. Jennie Lee Riddle wrote this beautiful piece that has been sung for almost a decade or two since it was written. I love the melody of this master piece, me playing and presenting it this week is an indication of how it is so captivating to me.
As I have already mentioned the song is so scriptural and carries an authoritative message of worship. The description of the majesty of Christ the lamb who was slain and is now reigning in glory is really magnificent. One of the lines or stanzas in the song says he is clothed in rainbows of live colours which show how glorious his presence is in heaven. Jesus is the king of king to him belongs blessings power, strength and glory. Holy, holy Lord God almighty is what the angels sing day and night to show us how great his name is. The words may sound simple to our ears yet the are profound as the host of heaven repeat them the convey deep reverence to Holy God. As I awaiting the soon coming king, this song gives me the picture of how glorious heaven will be.

For week 130 round 1 my entry is a song by MOG a gospel music artist from Ghana. This song is so uplifting to me in that it ascribes glory to God. The reverence through the wording or lyrics of the song are so profound, they bring a picture of what Revelation 4:10 says. If you read through Rev 4:10 there is a scene of the twenty-four elders casting down their crowns and worshiping the lamb that was slain for our sin. In the song the write says Oh be lifted above all other gods, this not from without. Scripture affirms that Christ has been exalted on high and has been given a name above all names. Thrones, powers, and rules can not be compared to him, he is the creator of all things.
This song essentially uplifts my soul whenever I take time to worship a God who is like no other. Indeed, as the song says all glorious God, our God reigns in glory, taking time to adore him is so fulfilling because I was created to worship him. Am not ashamed to give him reverence in my quiet time, I lift up my hands and kneel to show the sign of honour to his holy name. Sharing my gift for the first time in this community through this particular song is a pleasure to me. I am hoping to participate weekly to sharpen my skills. May this post be an encouragement to every who will take time to listen and view it.
