Hello, it's week 35 of the Vibes Web3 Music Competition.
I am Icelover, and the title of my cover song is "Older" by Sasha Sloan, which was released in 2018. This song reflects on the challenges of growing older and the nostalgia that accompanies it—specifically, the sentimental longing or wistful affection for the past.
I relate to this song in many ways that are difficult to express. When I was younger, listening to it helped me understand the challenges of growing up and the realization that love is not easy. I came to see that my parents, whom I viewed as heroes, are just as imperfect as I am.
Furthermore, the song opened my eyes to the harsh truth about relationships, describing them as messy. I also realized that I had placed a burden on my parents while growing up, expecting them to be strong and have everything together all the time, forgetting that they are human, just like me.
However, I am in a better place now, and these thoughts no longer bother me. I hope you all listen and enjoy! Thank you!
