After several months of development and a long battle with Apple’s ecosystem, we now have a fully functional iPhone app that brings HiveDebit to iOS with native payment and card-management features. The application is scheduled to launch before the end of March.

Current capabilities include:

Send and receive HBD or HIVE via AirDrop or SMS.
Login is required for this feature. SMS availability and delivery costs may vary depending on the user’s mobile carrier.
Create invoices for a HiveDebit card and accept tap-to-pay payments.
Create invoices for a Lightning card and accept tap-to-pay payments.
Generate QR-based invoices for Lightning, HBD, and HIVE payments.
Receive real-time notifications for both incoming and outgoing transactions on the logged-in account.
Create physical cards paying with Bitcoin Lightning, HIVE, or HBD, and program them directly on the app.

Anyone can permissionlessly create their own Hive Debit card. No need to ask us or anyone. All you need is an NFC card or wearable version 215 or 216, your spend account active key (don’t worry we don’t store it).

make sure your android device has NFC capability enabled
go to Hivedebit.com
click create card
enter account name, daily spend limit and active key when promoted
when promoted hold your card to the back of your android phone

This is how to easily use Hivedebit.com to add HBD to your personal or business Hive Debit NFC card.

have cash or credit card with fiat ready to pay
business goes to hivedebit.com under the “my card” section
client taps the card and enters PIN
cashier clicks top up card and enters amount
cashier uses the businesses device with HBD on it to scan the QR code and the funds are topped up to the clients hive debit card!
now the client can spend their HBD at the business or other nearby businesses that accept the currency
