Un saludo muy especial para toda la comunidad de Music Zone y a los participantes de esta semana. 🙌

Hoy decidí tomarme un tiempo para reconectar con algunas de mis canciones originales, ya que mañana volveré a presentarme en vivo. Esta vez estaré retomando el papel de guitarrista, algo que no hacía desde hace varios meses. Me emociona mucho regresar a ese rol, ya que tocar la guitarra es una parte esencial de mi proceso creativo y de cómo me conecto con mi música.

Aunque yo mismo compuse estas canciones, con el paso del tiempo, si no las practico, algunas partes pueden desvanecerse de la memoria. Por eso aproveché el día para ensayar, reencontrarme con esas melodías y también grabar un fragmento de lo que será mi interpretación en el escenario. Me pareció una buena oportunidad para compartirles un poco de este proceso personal y artístico.

En este post les presento una canción muy especial llamada ”The Script". Este tema forma parte de mi primer EP y fue concebido con una estética sonora muy ligada al post-punk. Está compuesto para dos guitarras, ambas con efectos marcados, especialmente delay y reverb, que crean una atmósfera envolvente y emocional.

¿De qué trata?

”The Script" reflexiona sobre cómo algunas personas utilizan palabras como armas de manipulación. Frases que se repiten tanto que parecen extraídas de un libreto preestablecido. A veces son hirientes, otras veces confusas, pero en todas buscan ejercer control. Esa repetición, esa frialdad automática, es parte del mensaje de la canción.

A very special greeting to the Music Zone community and to all the amazing participants this week! 🙌

Today I took some time to reconnect with my original songs, as I’ll be returning to the stage tomorrow for a live performance. This time I’m picking up the guitar again, something I haven’t done in quite a while. I’m really excited to go back to this role because playing guitar is a vital part of my musical identity and expression.

Even though I wrote these songs myself, I’ve learned that if I don’t rehearse them regularly, details start to slip away. So I used today not just to practice and revisit the emotional landscape of these pieces, but also to record a short clip of one of the songs I’ll be performing — to give you all a glimpse into my preparation.

The song I’m sharing here is called ”The Script". It’s part of my debut EP and features a layered post-punk sound, built around two electric guitars drenched in delay and reverb — effects that help shape that atmospheric and introspective feeling.

What is it about?

”The Script" is a song that explores the way some people use words as tools of manipulation. They repeat certain phrases so often, to so many people, that it feels like they’re reading from a script. Sometimes those words are cold, sometimes hurtful, but they serve a purpose — keeping others under their control through psychological repetition.

Hola a todos que bueno estar de nuevo participando en el High Music festival en la semana 137. Estuve ausente un par de semanas por temas de salud, pero ya con toda la energía para volver a compartir música.

En esta oportunidad estuve repasando un poco del repertorio básico del jazz y es por eso que estuve grabando y practicando un estándar muy conocido y quizás muy tocado que es el de Autumn Leaves.

Si eres seguidor de esta música, seguramente has escuchado esta pieza muchísimas veces y muchos artistas grandes han hecho sus propias interpretaciones. Yo como músico principiante de jazz considero que es una pieza fácil para ir aprendiendo a improvisar e ir conociendo un poco más sobre esta música. Así que por eso hoy decidí irme por este tema.

Hi everyone, it's great to be back at the High Music festival in week 137. I've been absent for a couple of weeks due to health issues, but now I'm back with all the energy to share music again.

This time I was going through some of the basic jazz repertoire and that's why I was recording and practicing a very well known and perhaps very played standard which is Autumn Leaves.

If you are a follower of this music, you have probably heard this piece many, many times and many great artists have done their own interpretations. As a beginner jazz musician, I consider it an easy piece to learn to improvise and learn a little more about this music. So that's why today I decided to go for this theme.

Un saludo muy cordial a la comunidad de Music para mí es un honor poder volver a estar con ustedes compartiendo música. Y una de las razones por la que he estado ausente en la comunidad es porque he estado trabajando en mis proyectos musicales como es “Münchhausen”

Estoy muy agradecido porque la banda ha tenido buen acogimiento entre las personas y cada vez son más los que están escuchando mi música. Y eso es lo que también quiero hoy compartir con ustedes un nuevo sencillo que saqué un par de semanas llamado "Ad Astra”.

Esta canción podríamos definirla entre el género del Dream pop con toques sutiles del Dark Wave y una atmósfera muy soñadora como el Shoegaze. Es cierto que estos son géneros muy Underground, pero que en los últimos años han vuelto a tomar acogida entre el público y bueno quería experimentar con este sonido. Cabe resaltar que esta es mi primera canción que hago en español para este proyecto.

La inspiración de la canción se basó en el sentimiento de flotar en el cielo, de ir hacia las estrellas, y esa sensación que te da de estar relajado como sentir de qué subes al espacio y olvidas todo lo que estás dejando atrás. También de que el tiempo a veces no existe y que solo tenemos que dejarnos llevar a donde queremos ir.

Espero disfruten esta canción y agradezco mucho que me hayan escuchado y por todo el apoyo que me dan.

A very kind greeting to the Music community. It is an honor for me to be able to be with you again, sharing music. And one of the reasons why I've been away from the community is because I've been working on my musical projects, such as ‘Münchhausen’.

I am very happy because the band has been well received by the people and more and more people are listening to my music. And that's what I also want to share with you today, a new single that I released a couple of weeks ago called ‘Ad Astra’.

This song could be considered between the genre of Dream pop with subtle touches of Dark Wave and a very dreamy atmosphere like Shoegaze. It's clear that these are very underground genres, but in the last few years they have become popular again among the public, and I wanted to explore this sound. It's important to note that this is the first song I've done in Spanish for this project.

The inspiration for the track was based on the feeling of floating in the sky, of going towards the stars, and that feeling that it gives you of being relaxed, like feeling like you're going up into space and forgetting everything you're leaving behind. Also, that time often doesn't exist and that we just have to let ourselves go where we want to go.

Hola todos es un gusto estar de vuelta el día de hoy en el Hive Music Festival En su semana número 134.

Y en el día de hoy comparto esta canción que se llama Wicked Game que es factoría de Chris Isaak. Seguramente la hemos escuchado alguna vez ya que fue un éxito de los años 80, Y qué ha sido ampliamente difundida en los medios.

Usualmente toco esta canción sólo con el piano pero, para esta presentación quería usar un Backing Track que me acompañe con los demás instrumentos para darle un aire más completo a esta canción.

Tengo que confesar que el momento de la grabación uno de mis audífonos dejó de sonar por lo cual empecé a escuchar mi piano más bajo que la pista entonces espero no se note mucho en los momentos en los que quizás me pierdo.

Es todo un honor poder compartir en esta comunidad y espero poder seguir haciéndolo de manera más seguida y apoyando a cada uno de ustedes como artistas y quienes hacen parte de la comunidad.

Hi everyone it's a pleasure to be back today at the Hive Music Festival in its 134th week.

And today I'm sharing this song called Wicked Game which is made by Chris Isaak. We've probably heard it before as it was a hit from the 80's, AND it's been widely played in the media.

I usually play this song with just the piano but, for this performance I wanted to use a Backing Track to accompany me with the other instruments to give a more complete feel to this song.

I have to confess that at the time of the recording one of my headphones stopped playing so I started to hear my piano lower than the track so I hope it doesn't show too much in the moments when I might get lost.

It is an honour to be able to share in this community and I hope to be able to continue to do so on a more regular basis and support each of you as artists and those who are part of the community.

Para la semana 13 Vibes Web3 Music Competition quería cantar algo de rock en español. Y esta canción es un clásico de los años 80 del grupo Duncan Dhu y una de sus canciones más conocidas “En Algún Lugar”.

Esta canción la empecé a cantar desde muy pequeño cuando descubrí un karaoke en el computador de mi casa hace muchos años y desde entonces me ha gustado.

A pesar de que es una canción que la gente canta y las bandas de rock locales tocan mucho, a veces es bueno escucharla y recordar por lo menos para mí esas buenas épocas en casa cantando con mi familia.

For the week 13 Vibes Web3 Music Competition I wanted to sing something rock in Spanish. And this song is a classic from the 80's by the band Duncan Dhu and one of their best known songs “En Algún Lugar”.

I started singing this song when I was very young when I discovered a karaoke on my computer at home many years ago and since then I have loved it.

Although it is a song that people sing and local rock bands play a lot, sometimes it is good to listen to it and remember at least for me those good times at home singing it with my family.

I hope you like this interpretation and thank you very much for listening to me and for your support.

Un saludo especial a todos los músicos en Music Zone. Esta semana atendiendo el llamado de @juliopalomo para participar en la semana 11 de este Jamming Zone.

Hay momentos en los que me gusta tocar la guitarra y empezar a explorar sonidos, acordes y algunos otros elementos que este instrumento puede ofrecerme. A pesar de qué conozco mucho de teoría, a veces me cuesta aplicarla a la guitarra, ya que no es mi instrumento principal como lo saben.

Sin embargo, esto no me impide que pueda llegar a sonoridades interesantes al momento de tocarla. Para esta improvisación utilice el capo y lo coloque en el quinto traste para llegar a una sonoridad más aguda con acordes abiertos.

Utilicé acordes muy sencillos, pero me ha gustado el resultado de lo que ha salido en esta ocasión. Algo que me sirvió de inspiración saber escuchado canciones de una banda de rock progresivo moderno que me gusta mucho y se llama Porcupine Tree.

Esta banda utiliza mucho las guitarras acústicas, los acordes abiertos y el uso de arpegios en varias de sus canciones. Precisamente me estaba aprendiendo una canción de ellos cuándo empecé a improvisar un poco con los acordes que tenía esta canción. Como resultado salió este sonido y me pareció apropiado poder compartirlo para esta semana.

Para quienes les gusta el rock moderno, la música progresiva, les recomiendo mucho esta banda. Seguramente la van a disfrutar, ya que tiene canciones muy buenas para aprender y tener en el repertorio.

Postdata: hay un momento en el que hago una cara chistosa porque mi hermano estaba saliendo y le hice cara de que no me fuera a decir nada por qué en el momento me encontraba grabando y no quería dañar la grabación, así que me disculpo por ello.

Espero que esta improvisación sea de su agrado y también agradezco muchísimo por su apoyo y por escucharme nos vemos en una próxima.

A special greeting to all the musicians in Music Zone. This week I'm answering @juliopalomo's call to participate in week 11 of this Jamming Zone.

There are moments when I like to play the guitar and start exploring sounds, chords and some other elements that this instrument can offer me. Although I know a lot about theory, I sometimes find it difficult to apply it to the guitar, as it is not my main instrument as you know.

However, this does not prevent me from reaching interesting sonorities when playing it. For this improvisation I used the capo and placed it on the fifth fret to reach a higher pitched sonority with open chords.

I used very simple chords, but I liked the result of what came out this time. Something that inspired me was listening to songs by a modern progressive rock band that I really like called Porcupine Tree.

This band uses a lot of acoustic guitars, open chords and the use of arpeggios in several of their songs. I was just learning a song of theirs when I started to improvise a bit with the chords that this song had. As a result this sound came out and it seemed appropriate to share it for this week.

For those of you who like modern rock, progressive music, I highly recommend this band. You will surely enjoy it, as it has some great songs to learn and have in your repertoire.

P.S. There is a moment when I make a funny face because my brother was leaving and I made a face at him that he wasn't going to say anything to me because I was recording at the time and I didn't want to damage the recording, so I apologise for that.

Sean bienvenidos a la semana número 82 de el Hive Music Festival. Para mí es un placer poder participar dentro de lo posible cada semana en este festival que reúne excelentes músicos de la comunidad.

La canción que traigo para esta semana es una canción muy versionada por varios artistas. Es un clásico del jazz y entre sus máximos exponentes han sido Michael Bublé, Nina Simone y la versión que más me gusta es la de la banda británica Muse.

Algo que me gusta esta canción es que a pesar de qué es un jazz, es una versión fácil de tocar y también muy potente, además que por supuesto es conocida entre gran público. Es una canción que siempre está en mi repertorio cuando voy a tocar en vivo o estoy en alguna reunión y me piden tocar algo. Precisamente por lo que es conocida y la mayoría de gente les gusta.

Cómo mencioné antes, también esta versión fue hecha por la banda Muse. Me gusta muchísimo, porque la versión que ellos hacen es más rockera y hace que coja fuerza la canción. También escogí este tema para presentarlo en un centro comercial de mi ciudad y siento que esta canción es perfecta para hacer mi presentación.

He querido desde hace un tiempo tocar en vivo varios temas de rock, ya sea solo o acompañado de una banda, pero que el instrumento principal sea el piano. Es algo que no he visto en mi ciudad y por eso quiero hacer algo innovador en algún centro comercial o en lugares donde podamos tocar en vivo y este tipo de música es el repertorio perfecto para acompañar.

Espero les guste esta canción y también la versión que hago para piano con un poco improvisación pequeña al final. Muchas gracias por el apoyo y nos estamos viendo en la próxima ocasión.

Welcome to week 82 of the Hive Music Festival. For me it is a pleasure to participate as much as possible every week in this festival that brings together excellent musicians from the community.

The song I bring you this week is a song that has been covered by several artists. It is a jazz classic and its greatest exponents have been Michael Bublé, Nina Simone and the version I like the most is the one by the British band Muse.

Something I like about this song is that even though it is jazz, it is an easy to play version and also very powerful, and of course it is well known among the general public. It's a song that is always in my repertoire when I go to play live or I'm in a meeting and I'm asked to play something. Precisely because it is well known and most people like it.

As I mentioned before, this version was also done by the band Muse. I like it very much, because their version is more rock and makes the song stronger. I also chose this song to perform it in a shopping mall in my city and I feel that this song is perfect for my performance.

I have wanted for some time to play live several rock songs, either alone or accompanied by a band, but the main instrument should be the piano. It's something I haven't seen in my city and that's why I want to do something innovative in a mall or in places where we can play live and this kind of music is the perfect repertoire to go with it.

Qué placer estar otra vez con ustedes participando una semana más en el Hive Music Festival. Las ocupaciones no me han permitido estar tan activo como he querido, pero es que la música fuera de Hive también se mueve mucho.

Hace rato he querido cantar para este festival y por esta razón decidí hoy hacerlo. Placebo para mí es una de las bandas que más disfruto escuchar, sobre todo en el ámbito de la música alternativa. Hace poco se presentaron en uno de los festivales más importantes que hay en mi ciudad, pero lastimosamente no pude ir por motivos de viaje. Pero estoy seguro de que su presentación fue muy genial.

Meds es una de las canciones que hacen parte de su álbum homónimo y lo que me gusta de ella es que se puede tocar en guitarra acústica. Y creo que también es una de las canciones entrecomillas fáciles de cantar de Brian Molko. Su voz es aguda y también muy nasal. Yo no quería imitarlo, pero quizás en otra ocasión que haga un Cover de ellos traté de sacar mi voz un poco más similar a la que él hace.

Esta canción habla sobre los medicamentos que muchas de las personas que sufren depresión o ataques de ansiedad entre otras enfermedades mentales, tienen que tomar para estar de manera más estable, sin embargo, muchos de estos medicamentos son opioides y hacen que las personas pierdan parte de sus facultades motrices o sociales. También así que él nos cuenta cuáles han sido sus dificultades de tomar estos medicamentos y sus consecuencias.

Ha sido para mí un placer poder compartir algo de música con ustedes, también de seguir mejorando en mi técnica vocal y las cosas que he querido hacer, así que pido disculpas a todos los cantantes, ya que no es mi instrumento principal, pero disfruto mucho de cantar.

What a pleasure to be with you again for another week at the Hive Music Festival. Busy times haven't allowed me to be as active as I wanted to be, because music outside of Hive is also moving a lot.

I've been wanting to sing for this festival for a long time, and that's why I decided to do it today. Placebo for me is one of the bands I enjoy listening to most, especially in the alternative music scene. They recently performed at one of the most important festivals in my city, but unfortunately I couldn't go due to travel reasons. But I'm sure their performance was very cool.

Meds is one of the songs from their eponymous album, and what I like about it is that it can be played on acoustic guitar. And I think it's also one of Brian Molko's easy to sing songs. His voice is high-pitched and also very nasal. I didn't want to imitate him, but maybe another time I do a cover of them I'll try to bring out my voice a bit more similar to what he does.

This song talks about the medications that many people who suffer from depression or anxiety among other mental illnesses, have to take to be more stable, however, many of these drugs are opioids and cause people to lose some of their motor or social skills. He also tells us about the difficulties he has had taking these drugs and their consequences.

It has been a pleasure for me to be able to share some music with you, also to keep improving my vocal technique and the things I have wanted to do. So I apologise to all the singers, as it is not my main instrument, but I enjoy singing very much.

Un placer saludarlos a todos en esta comunidad de Vibes, para esta ocasión quise traer una canción original que la idea se me vino en el mes de febrero, pero hasta el día de ayer tuve algo de inspiración para terminarla.

Esta idea vino a mi mente en la ocasión en que tuve una conversación con una persona que aprecio mucho, ella se sentía muy mal por alguna situación que le había sucedido. Después de aquella conversación llegué a mi casa, me senté al piano y empezó a fluir la melodía principal de la canción.

Tiempo después volví a retomar la idea y bueno, este ha sido el resultado, una canción al estilo minimalista muy inspirado en las canciones de Yann Tiersen, Ludovico Einaudi, Evgeny Grinko entre otros.

Todavía falta arreglar ciertos detalles de la canción, pero en sí ya está completa y prometo grabarla en mejor calidad, para distribuirla en muchos más lugares. No tiene nombre, así que estaré abierto a sus sugerencias. Muchas gracias por escucharme.

A pleasure to greet you all in the Vibes community. For this time I wanted to share an original song that came to me in the month of February, but until yesterday I had some inspiration to finish it.

This idea came to my mind when I had a conversation with a person that I appreciate very much, she was feeling very bad about a situation that had happened to her. After that talk I came home, sat down at the piano and the main melody of the song started to flow.

Some time later I took up the idea again and well, this is the result, a song in a minimalist style very much inspired by the songs of Yann Tiersen, Ludovico Einaudi, Evgeny Grinko and others.

I still need to fix some details of the song, but it is complete, and I promise to record it in better quality, to distribute it in many more places. It has no name, so I will be open to your suggestions. Thank you very much for listening to me.

Saludos a todos en Music Zone. La semana pasada me fue un poco difícil participar en el festival, pero esta semana organicé mi horario para volver con más música.

Aunque he dejado de lado un poco la guitarra, quería retomar y volver a practicar algo del repertorio que solía tocar antes. Para ello me propuse estudiar esta canción. Es una canción muy conocida del grupo californiano Green Day.

Esta banda ha sido una influencia muy grande para mí en la guitarra. A pesar de qué no me dedico al 100% este instrumento, siempre que tengo tiempo agarro mi guitarra eléctrica y repaso mucho el repertorio que ellos tocan. También realmente porque es sencillo de tocar, pero la energía que ellos transmiten es buenísima.

La versión que estoy tocando es basada en un arreglo Fingerstyle que encontré hace algún tiempo y me gustó bastante, me pareció que es una versión fácil de tocar, pero obviamente requiere práctica. Llevaba tiempo sin tocarla, así que se notaran mis errores, aun así no quería dejar de participar por esta razón.

Al momento de escribir esta publicación me di cuenta de que esta canción ya está cumpliendo 20 años de ser lanzada. Me hace pensar mucho en parte de la letra que dice: 20 años se han ido muy rápido, y realmente ha sido así. Recuerdo mucho haberla escuchado de niño y ya han pasado 20 años, sigue estando presente en mi biblioteca musical. De hecho, todo ese álbum American Idiots es de mis álbumes favoritos de siempre.

Posdata: al momento de editar me di cuenta de que una de las cuerdas estaba desafinada, así que pido excusas por ello. Realmente quería hacer una mejor presentación y me doy cuenta de qué la guitarra ya necesita un cambio de cuerdas pronto.

Hi to everyone at Music Zone. Last week it was a little difficult for me to participate in the festival, but this week I organised my schedule to come back with more music.

Although I've put my guitar playing on the back burner for a while, I wanted to get back to practising some of the repertoire I used to play before. To do this, I set out to study this song. It's a well-known song by the group from California, Green Day.

This band has been a big influence on my guitar playing. Even though I'm not 100% dedicated to this instrument, whenever I have time I always pick up my electric guitar and play a lot of the repertoire they play. Also because it's really easy to play, but the energy they transmit is superb.

The version I'm playing is based on a Finger style arrangement I found some time ago, and I quite liked it, I thought it was an easy version to play, but obviously it takes practice. I hadn't played it for a while, so my mistakes were noticeable, but I didn't want to stop participating for this reason.

At the time of writing this post, I realised that this song is already 20 years after its release. It makes me think a lot about part of the lyrics that say: 20 years have gone by so fast, and it really has. I remember very much hearing it as a kid, and it's 20 years later, it's still present in my music library. In fact, that whole American Idiots album is one of my favourite albums ever.

P.S. When I was editing, I noticed that one of the strings was out of tune, so I apologize for that. I really wanted to make a better performance and I realise that the guitar already needs a string change soon.

Hola amigos de Music Zone, estoy muy contento de poder participar por primera vez en esta faceta del Jamming. Me gusta mucho el tema de improvisación y de dejar volar la imaginación en el instrumento.
Una de las improvisaciones que más me gusta es la del jazz, que es la que normalmente escuchamos, pero también para esta ocasión quería darle oportunidad a ciertos aspectos teóricos que he estado estudiando últimamente.

Dejando de lado un poco la improvisación de jazz y los solos, hoy me quiero enfocar, es en progresiones que suenan muy diferente a lo que estamos acostumbrados en la música popular y para lograr esto decidí hacer una improvisación con progresiones con cromatismo de terceras o mediantes.

No quiero entrar en mucho detalle explicar que significa este tipo de acordes o progresiones, pero lo que realmente interesa por lo menos para este video, es la sensación que logra tener al escuchar esta improvisación. Hay diferentes sensaciones en este video, uno de ellos puede ser tranquilidad al principio de la progresión, luego cambia repentinamente a una oscuridad, sin embargo, no es una oscuridad que aterra, sino que también da confort. Luego uno de estos acordes nos da la sensación de paz y de repente vuelve a cambiar a esa oscuridad que hace que nuestro sentido de escuchar preste mucha atención.

Este tipo de progresiones es muy común escucharlos en películas, muchos compositores utilizan esta herramienta para generar esas sensaciones, algunas de ellas pueden ser más heroicas y otras pueden ser como estas llenas de oscuridad. Es por esa razón que me gusta estudiar teoría musical, porque me hace llegar a puntos donde la Música tiene infinidad de salidas y siempre podemos hacer algo diferente con ella.

Hello friends of Music Zone, I am very happy to be able to participate for the first time in this facet of Jamming. I really like the theme of improvisation and letting my imagination fly on the instrument.
One of the improvisations I like the most is jazz, which is the one we usually listen to, but also for this occasion I wanted to give a chance to certain theoretical aspects that I have been studying lately.

Leaving aside a bit of jazz improvisation and solos, today I want to focus on progressions that sound very different from what we are used to in popular music and to do, so I decided to do an improvisation with progressions with chromaticism of thirds or medians.

I don't want to go into too much detail explaining what this type of chords or progressions mean, but what is fascinating, at least for this video, is the feeling you get when you listen to this improvisation. There are different sensations in this video, one of them can be calmness at the beginning of the progression, then it suddenly changes to a darkness, however, it is not a darkness that terrifies, but it also gives comfort. Then one of these chords gives us the feeling of peace and then suddenly changes back to that darkness that makes our sense of listening pay close attention.

These kinds of progressions are very common to be heard in movies, many composers use this tool to generate those sensations, some of them can be more heroic and others can be like this full of darkness. That's why I like to study music theory, because it makes me get to points where music has infinite outlets, and we can always do something different with it.
