Hello music lovers, glad to make it to the 33rd week of the Vibes music competition, congratulations to last week's winners, this week is filled with interesting singers as well, kudos guys, and more appreciation to the mods of this wonderful community, keeping the vibe on.

With our interesting theme, second language, at first, I thought I would sing a song in my dialect, but I couldn't lay my hands on the instrumentals and almost gave up participating for the week and i really didn't want to miss out, so it made me fel bad to think of giving up.

I was doing my house chores this morning while hubby just played an old song list from his phone through the sound system that filled the entire sitting room, relaxing my mood further, then WAKA WAKA by Shakira came up, before I knew it, I was already grooving, then I realized, this is a song I have liked for as long as it existed, I think it was released in the year 2010 when South Africa hosted the FIFA world cup, but with this song, it felt like the whole African continent hosted it, i remember also feeling every emotions during the World cup just with this song, even though I wasn't keen to watching football.

There is no way you can listen to this song without moving your body, I like to call it a Unity song, with the way it brought the world together, and it is also filled with encouraging lyrics, urging us to fight for our goals and not give up.

Savoring Childhood Memories: Tapioca Pudding Recipe

Happy Sunday friends, hope you all have enough fun plans for the weekend, as all work without play... you know the finishing part of that sentence right lol. Yay! It's another edition of the Hive Learners creative Sunday, and I will be sharing with us a unique recipe I loved so much as a child but had never prepared all my life, and didn't even know how it looked like when raw, until now.

It's called Tapioca over here, I used to think this was only a name known to the Yorubas but with further research, I discovered it is known worldwide with the same name, some even call it tapioca pearls, when it is molded to be rounded in shape.

I finally found tapioca in its raw state during one of my market visits, it was sold in an open basin, looking pure white, I asked her to sell me a cup, which was sold for less than a dollar, in addition, she explained to me how to prepare it as an additional service and I was grateful and feel motivated to make my very first tapioca, also looking forward to serving it to my kids as they've never tried it before, more like taking them to my childhood days.

Ingredients needed

• Tapioca seeds
• Coconut
• Sugar
• milk

You can add as much as you like to make your tapioca sweet and colourful, some go as far as adding strawberries, groundnuts, dates, etc, but these were what I could afford.

Without further ado, let's get right into the making process, know that this is one of the easiest recipes you will come across.

Procedures

• The first thing I did was to soak my tapioca seeds in water, some say for three hours, but I soaked mine overnight, and when I checked it the next morning, it had already doubled in size and become soft, I drained the water out and washed it one more time because it must have accumulated dust in the market.

• Next. I put my gas cooker on low heat because we want it to cook gradually and properly also we don't want it to get burnt

• I also dissolved the quantity of sugar according to the size i/m making in water, poured it into the pot of tapioca, and added more water to reach the same level as the tapioca

• As it got more heated, I stored the tapioca, cooking it for about 1 5 minutes.

• I also unshelled the coconut and shredded it into tiny pieces, poured it into the pot of tapioca, and stored it to even in the pot. I turned off the gas cooker after a few minutes and let the tapioca cool, I think tapioca is best served when cool than hot.

• Dishing it to my plate, I poured in my Hollandia milk and served my tapioca pudding with puff puff, a common Nigerian snack, it tasted so sweet and nostalgic as I had imagined, my daughters also liked it, so I will be incorporating tapioca pudding to our breakfast menu from henceforth, also because it is a good source of energy, gluten-free, and a source of calcium and iron.

I woke up today with the right energy and also got vibing to this old-time favorite playlist while doing my house chores, and one of the songs stuck and made me have an even better day, a song by Asa, one of the astounding Nigerian artist, whose lyrics you can't help but fall in love with as they are always filled with wisdom and very relatable.

'Be My Man' can be likened to how our mothers, especially African mothers warn about falling in love and not to act around a man, but when that one man that sweeps you off your feet comes by you, you can't help but break mama's rule, we are told to be conservative and not show a man that we love them, but this girl right here is throwing all that old mam's advice away and expressing her feelings without any restriction, like they say, taking it by force lol.

Greetings dear creative hivers, hope you are all having a good week, it's been a good week for me as well, grateful for the gift of life and peace of mind because that's what matters most in life.

Some weeks back, I shared with us a dress I made for my sister who was lucky to be chosen as one of the bridesmaids of a river that recently got married, she was sent two types of fabric, a lace and an ankara fabric, which I had already shared with us, you can check out that post here, so today's post is about the beautiful floral dress I made with the lace fabric,

At first my sister felt disappointed because we received just 2 yards of the lace fabric, it was delivered from another state to ours which is quite a distance, about 5-6 hours journey, the two yards kind of put a restriction on the kind of style we could make with it since it wasn't enough for something elaborate.

I calmed her down, telling her to trust me to make something simple yet sophisticated for her, this time there wouldn't be a long sleeve as she had thought to make, to compliment the beautiful pink lace fabric, so I bought s matching dutchess fabric to make a blouse out of it, in the process of making and using what left, I creatively ended up with this beautiful two-piece outfit.

Materials used

• Lace Fabric
• Dutchess fabric
• Satin fabric
• boning
• Eyelets
• Zipper

Cutting And Sewing Process

• The first thing I did was cut out a bustier blouse pattern, with a snatched waistline effect, and also the back pattern.

• Next, I joined the patterns together, after padding the bust area and sewing the boning to cage the bust satin lining part for more structure.

• I turned it neatly with its lining part, hiding the seams inside, then made rings on the back area where a loop would be passed to tighten the back side.

• I trimmed out flowers from a leftover lace fabric I had at home and used it to make a strap.

• For the lower part of this outfit, I used a straight skirt pattern to cut the lace and satin fabric that served at its base, making a straight out of it

• It was looking too simple, my sister whined, then I went further to sew more flowers to the best area alone, then draped the leftover pink lace fabric around her underbust, going around to form an off-shoulder sleeve.

And here is the final beautiful floral bridesmaid look, which she totally adored, glad I made her a beautiful bridesmaid for the day.

DIY Princess Gloves and a Fun-Filled Inter-House Sports Event

Happy Sunday dear Hivers, I hope you are all having a great, fun, and relaxing weekend, yay! It's another exciting Hive Learners creative Sunday edition where we share our fun creative talent, as usual, I will share with us another interesting creation of mine, which I made sometime last week.

My daughter's school had organized an inter-house sports event for students, teachers, and parents, it was a fun day for us all, engaging in competing sports activities such as match parade, racing, etc, especially for us parents who hardly engage in sports activities due to our tight schedule at wort, it was a great opportunity for us to exercise our muscles.

Another highlight of the day was that different houses represented were distinguished by different unique colors, from gold, purple, wine, and orange.

My daughters were both in gold house, so I volunteered to make their gold house princess ball gown with princess gloves, you will find the making process of the ball gown here as I will be sharing with us the gloves-making process, it is very easy to make, you can see how beautiful the princess looks in her dress, and even adults can also use this gloves, in case you have an upcoming birthday shoot, as long as you have a stretchy fabric, needle and thread, that's all you need to make these gloves, and yea, it definitely adds that royal touch to your outfit, as gloves are commonly worn by the royals.

Without further ado, let's get right into the making process.

As I stated before, make sure the fabric you are using is a quality stretchy fabric, I used a velvet fabric for this project, as you can see in the images, I also used this same fabric to design some parts of her dress,

• The first step is placing your hand on plain paper and tracing it out with a pencil, trace your fingers out and up to the length you desire for the gloves, it could be wrist or elbow length

• Next, I folded the fabric in two, before placing the drafted paper on the fabric, pinning it down because velvet fabric can be very unstable when sewing

• Continuing, I sewed around the drawn hand pattern, making sure to leave a quarter of an inch allowance when sewing, also, guide the fabric well to prevent folds,

• Here is what the sewed fabric looks like, lastly, I trimmed out the finger shape, very close to the sewn area, but not too close to cut the sewn part, and turned it inside out.

To crown it all, she won the best-dressed princess of the day, I attached a short video of the inter-house sports event to this post for a better experience, I hope you enjoy viewing, this event took me back memory lane of my time as a pupil, I hope it brings heartwarming memories for you as well.

Creative Sunday : My Delicious Curry Rice Recipe

Greetings dear hivers,I hope you all having a happy and relaxing Sunday, well my relaxing part just got started, as I just finished eating my delicious Sunday curry rice which I made immediately after I returned from church.

I have been craving this particular rice for days now but didn't have the time to make it, not that it is difficult to make, the ingredients are not even hard to come by, it's just that it's been really hectic with my job lately and there was already enough food to last for the week.

But today being Sunday makes the perfect day to satisfy my cravings, and above all, my children also like this curry rice and ate to their fill, having one picky eater daughter makes me very intentional about their food, as she eats with her eyes and nose before indulging or not, so I had to make this rice a bit colourful with the veggies I had available, you are free to add more available options of your choice.

Ingredients used

• Two cups of rice
• Plantain
• Curry powder
• Tomatoes
• Bell peppers
• Carrots
• Seasoning cubes
• onion
• Smoked fish
• groundnut oil

PROCESS*

• I made sure to wash and cut my tomatoes and other ingredients that needed dicing

• After that, I put the pot on the cooker to get hot and added groundnut oil, note that the proportion you use depends on the measurement of the rice you are cooking.

• I fried my already sliced plantain before cooking to make my cooking time short, then I went ahead to add the already sliced onion, followed by a sachet of curry powder which I allowed to fry for a few seconds

• Next, I poured in the already-washed rice and added water to boil the rice

• I also added seasoning cubes, salt, and pepper, then mix it well before covering the pot to let it boil.

• After about 30 minutes, the rice was already soft and the water almost dried up, so I went in with the smoked fish, carrot, and tomatoes, giving the rice a final mix then waiting a few minutes before putting off the gas.

My delicious curry rice is ready to eat and it was very filling, my daughters loved it so much they asked for a second round of eating at a go lol, and yes paired with a chilled glass of juice on a sunny Sunday makes the day perfect already.

Happy Sunday dear Hivers, I hope you all are having a good day, have you ever had that day when you had random and seemingly not enough ingredients to make a proper meal but you still ended up making a delicious meal at the end of the day, the day I made this meal was that day for me.

I woke up having plans to make stew and white rice but the power holding company had other plans for me, as I couldn't blend the tomatoes I had bought the previous day, it was my daughter's birthday and I had promised her and her cousins a delicious meal when they got back from school, feeling disappointed, I had to resort to plan B, thankfully I had these ingredients available at home that I could manage and it wouldn't tamper with my later plans for the stew when they eventually restore power.

I also realized that this is a meal for days we don't feel like spending much time in the kitchen but still get to eat a delicious meal of spaghetti, if you are a lover of spaghetti like me then you don't want to miss this recipe, as it is also very affordable.

Ingredients used

• Spaghetti
• 1 catcher tomato paste
• fresh tomatoes
• bell peppers
• onions
• groundnut oil
• seasoning cubes
• salt
• plantain
• carrots

Process

• I started by properly rinsing my plantain and vegetables under running water, then chopped them into my desired shapes

• putting some water to boil in the pot, I added salt and the pack of spaghetti(*I hope you don't break yours}

• making sure it is not too soft, I filtered the water out of the spaghetti after some minutes

• Continuing, I fried the sliced plantain to golden brown colour

• Using the same oil, I fried the tomato paste for a few minutes, before adding the chopped tomatoes, pepper, and carrots, I also added the seasoning cubes( the ingredient proportion is based on your discretion)

• Finally, I poured the stir-fried ingredients into the drained-out spaghetti, giving it a good stir so the ingredients properly mix, and that's it guys, my spaghetti was ready and it was indeed a beautiful day as we sang happy birthday for my 7-year-old daughter, making her blush, they all ate to their fill and even asked for more🤭.

Greeting dear lovers and creators of music in this wonderful community, I feel so happy to make it to the 28th week, yea, it's been a while since I made my entry due to some other life challenges and not just getting the right time and atmosphere to make my cover, thanks to my sister @jessicaossom who motivated me even through this trials to not relent and even offered me her space, making it easier go through with this week's entry, thanks sister, I love you.

For my entry today, I decided to cover a song by Labrinth feat. Emeli Sandé titled, Beneath You Beautiful because it's one Of the many music I find easy to sing along with, and also because a lot of us out there are scared of putting our bridges down due to so many hurts in the past or probably due to personal insecurities but the truth is that, there is someone out there who would treat you better, don't let the hurt of someone who doesn't deserve you make you close your heart away from love. No one is perfect, so put those bridges down and face life, and learn from your mistakes which shape you even to a better person.

Happy Sunday Hive!

Hope you are all having a relaxing Sunday, for me this is the only rest day I've had throughout this week, to show that I've had a hectic week, so I'm glad to make it to today's edition of Creative Sunday in this wonderful Hive Learners Community.

For my entry today, I sang the cover of a favorite song of mine, titled "No One Knows Tomorrow" by Asa, this song has been my go-to in situations that seem above me, which proves how limited we are as humans, we can plan today and it becomes something else tomorrow, we can only do our best but the real decider of how tomorrow turns out depends on our creator.

The lyrics also speak to those holding grudges against someone or situations they might be in, or war in its context, why go to war when your victory isn't even sure, or why give up now when you can succeed tomorrow? Think about it, as humans, we must endeavor to do things that hopefully bring positive results rather than negative, since tomorrow isn't sure, at least let our present lead us to a positive tomorrow, as we can only hope for the best.
