I had the honor of joining Black November at @instituto.ademafia, in the Morro do Santo Amaro community, Rio de Janeiro.
I came as a teacher, but left as a student — I learned so much from the kids.
We talked about Black representation in skateboarding, music, and my life journey.

Last year, on Skate Day, we celebrated with Instituto Ademafia in Morro do Santo Amaro, Rio de Janeiro, Brasil. Unfortunately, this place was recently the scene of a tragedy: an unnecessary BOPE operation during a June festival resulted in the death of Herus, an innocent young worker. After the incident, a biased montage with a fake photo was released to justify the unjustifiable. Favela residents are not criminals!
