After the interview with Andrew, I think a lot of the Fud was cleared.

I believe more than ever know that Steemit with Justin on board has the potential to create great things.

Then after the interview, the team made personal statements about where they stand in all of this and they all said they stand with the community.

That is a powerful statement that should not be underestimated.

I think it's now up to us to say that we stand with the team. I sure do.

Change is not always bad but it can be scary regardless. It's up to an individual how to approach such an event.

I choose to see all the good that this can bring, but make no mistake, I will fight for Steem if it ever comes to that.

Steemit Inc. is not the Steem Blockchain.

Justin Sun obviously saw the value to acquire the company and besides that, I also felt that Ned Scott was done with the company for a while.

Justin Sun bought Steemit inc, all their STEEM tokens, and steemit.com/logo and all that.

I am not 100% sure if the rest of the team was aware of the move. I remember listening to a witness chat with @aggroed not too long ago and hear, the team that we know, passionately speak about communities and SMT's.

I'm not sure if you buy a company you buy the employees as well, but it's unlikely.

Some new blood is not always a bad thing. Also, the funds that TRON can bring can help a lot.

People don't acquire companies to run them into the ground.

I think the press announcement made by TRON was a bit premature. Not everything that's in there makes a lot of sense or is at the least unclear (token swap, integrating the apps....that sort of stuff).

I am hoping to learn a lot more on the AMA tonight.

Steem biggest asset is the community.

There are lots of questions and speculations and it would be nice to get rid of those.

I don't think this is STEEM specific yet, we are still #78 on the CMC, which means other tokens have increased around us too. So, it's just the markets in general.

But who cares? We are into STEEM and a higher STEEM price helps us a lot and that's what I care about the most.

Higher STEEM price does several things.

First of all the payouts displayed for posts are correct again. (A $20 payout now really means $10 for the author and $10 for curators and not less.).

The SBD is printed again. Which means less STEEM coming onto the market. (Unless the earners convert it, which I don't expect many will do).

A higher STEEM price means more money for development. And that's extremely important.

But a higher STEEM price also ramps up competition. And I call it the STEEM squeeze.

The rule is pretty simple, the higher the STEEM price the more effort you will have to do to earn STEEM.

This goes for content creators as well as witnesses and the higher the price goes, the more you will feel it.

Individual blogging (for STEEM) on steemit.com will get a lot harder moving forward. Why? Because you will be competing with whole communities.

I believe earning (STEEM) within a community is the future. And not necessarily from the reward pool.

The next logical step therefore on my Steem journey is to create a community with others and grow it the moment that feature goes live.

As an investor in the game, I am looking forward to how the new cards will affect the Alpha and Beta card prices and also the price of DEC.

The other part of the vlog is about what would happen if the STEEM price went to 1 cent and why I think that wouldn't matter for the sustainability of the blockchain if there are enough projects here generating revenue from other sources.

In other words, if there are enough projects here utilizing Steem in their business model and generating revenue because of it there should be enough incentive to pay for the infrastructure (full node/witness) and keep it going even though that would only generate 1 cent STEEM tokens for them.

It will just become a cost on the balance that can be offset by the revenue a project makes.

Steemit.com is one of these projects I see being able to do this once communities are out. I'm hoping communities will increase engagement. Make a lot of people have more fun and want to be here and that would lead to more eyes on the site that should lead to more advertisement revenue.

And they sure have enough SP to fill a big pool of RC credits to onboard plenty of users that can start posting here without having to buy STEEM first.

It's a fun thought experiment and I like how more and more projects are searching for second revenue streams, stepping away from the reward pool as the only revenue source.

And don't worry I don't think STEEM price will go to 1 cent for real.

We are not far from the ATL of 2017 now.

It made me think a lot about Steem and how it changed over the years.

Nothing is the same about Steem compared to the low of 2017 when it was just Steemit.com.

For a long time, I invested in STEEM because you could empower your own account/blog with it.

But after #newsteem this all changed and that reason is now gone, nobody will buy STEEM to empower their own blog.

And it's probably worse, because now, for a user of Steem, because it's not necessary to acquire STEEM to earn STEEM they won't. And later with RC pools, there is no reason to acquire STEEM at all. Not to earn and not to use Steem.

I'm not saying it's bad. (In fact, I think it's awesome that we will be the only blockchain that users can use for free. It's the only way we will get mass adoption).

I'm just saying that THAT reason to buy STEEM is gone.

Yet other reasons are now in place and I do believe these to be better longterm reasons that will benefit Steem more then what we had.

So, lately, I'm thinking a lot about who will buy STEEM if not for users to empower themselves?

The only two parties I can see buying STEEM are developers/communities or investors. That's it.

Developers/communities need SP to fill an RC pool and investors will want to lease out their SP/RC's to anyone that needs it or maybe use it to reward users they see as adding value to the chain.

There are some other reasons to buy STEEM. It gives you more influence over the witnesses and SPS proposals and you can direct some more STEEM from the daily reward pool to wherever you want.

But I don't think the last reason through upvotes will cut it, just on its own, to get the STEEM price up.

I mean, when you look at the most successful app on the blockchain (Splinterlands) they not even use upvotes to attract users. They just made a great product and they use Steem in a genius way.

Splinterlands does need access to RC's to work and that's the only REAL reason for them to invest in STEEM, but I doubt any user that plays Splinterlands ever invested in Splinterlands because they might get a small upvote from the Splinterlands team.

Here's what I think is happening.

A current reason to invest in STEEM (self-empowerment) has been taken away with #newsteem and a new reason has been created (RC delegation).

But the problem is that the RC delegation is not out yet.

Steem investment is therefor in LIMBO and it takes a future vision to see what this thing can become, but it also involves a lot of but's and ifs.

#1. Anyone can make a community for 3 STEEM. Longterm communities will love this but I can also see the use case for short term communities (to organize an event for instance).

#2. Communities can be moderated.

#3. Whatever you post in a community is not posted on your blog. (very handy).

#4. Content Discovery is a lot easier.

Questions:

#1 What is this?

#2. When a mod mutes a post in a community it's not visible to anyone in that community. Is it possible to mute users for the entire community?

#3. When a post is downvoted (outside the community) it's still visible within the community. Can only mods mute a post?

I downvoted this post on steemit.com. It's grayed out.

On the community site the same post lost rep. But the post is still visible.

#4 Can an SMT be used inside a community when they come out?

#5 I can post in a community without joining the community? is that normal? (it's called guest account).

#6 When I mute a post I have to give a reason. Where can I find these reasons?

#7 Can I make a community where I have to approve members first before they can post in my community?

It's the first time I am not there but I do know what it's like to be there and I'm sure everyone there is having a blast.

Even from a distance, I'm extremely happy with what I have seen so far presentation-wise.

Earning different tokens on Steem is nothing new since the introduction of Steem-Engine.

But moving forward with the tokenization of the web (whether it's through Steem-Engine or SMT's or both) everything that is posted on the Steem blockchain will be eligible to earn STEEM as well as other tokens.

It doesn't matter whether this content is posted through a tribe like SteemLEO or PAL or an app like APPICS.

When APPICS becomes extremely successful and millions use the app, the Steem Blockchain will be flooded with thousands of posts of APPICS.

That is fine for the APPICS app. Because it only displays APPICS content and they have their own curators to distribute APX tokens.

But can you imagine what this will look like on Steemit.com? This frontend displays everything that's going on on the blockchain.

Not just APPICS content, also Steemit blog posts, Actifit rapport, Esteem, everything you do and everyone else does under their account.

Right now on Steem, it's still possible for curators to find content to vote for (with Steempower) through a frontend like Steemit.com or Steempeak even though it displays everything.

But what if millions start to post daily through all the different apps and frontends that will arise and one refresh on steemit.com will lead to hundreds of new posts to 'curate'.

It will be impossible to curate for a human. Too overwhelming. I think.

But the amount of STEEM that will be earned is 346 SP + 346 STEEM = 692 STEEM.

692 STEEM at current STEEM price of $0,15 is $103,80.
