That gym was in operation for many years, I don't know if it reached 10 years but it must have been very close. The truth is that after so many years that partnership was dissolved when the other part of that partnership wanted to go away for an indefinite period of time. The time has come for a new chapter - Santos!

That's how the gym was going to be called the gym it is today. It started out a bit complicated because with papers, construction work and space ceded by the state, everything became very bureaucratic. In the middle of all that, the pandemic happened and delayed everything a lot and that's when my friend had to do everything. Give classes in a park, virtual classes, whatever it took to maintain at least some of his community and at the same time to feed his family. Luckily the family was very supportive during this difficult time, and after the pandemic, after 8 more months, the day finally came. Santos opened and all was joy.

Since he opened the new gym I had not been to visit him to congratulate him other than by a message and much less to train and I had wanted to do it for a while but it was difficult because it is really quite far away and it is not near my house. I was lucky that they lent me a car so I could go so today after dropping the kids off at school, I went straight there.

The visit was beautiful. Full of acquaintances, students and friends with whom I shared many dinners, laughs and mates. I spent a very nice morning enjoying my friend's space which by the way was amazing with many new elements and surrounded by sun and park during the whole day since they are located in the center of the Chacabuco Park, under the 25 de Mayo highway. After training, they invited me to have some mate, so we were there between stretching and drinking mate for a while and then I went to work.

Y bueno, algun dia se tenía que dar. Hace muchos años atrás, En un gimnasio de Crossfit conocí a un amigo que se llama Martin. Recuerdo que un día, después del entrenamiento, estábamos charlando y me dijo que tenía ganas de dejar todo y dar clases , tener un gimnasio. Me pregunto que pensaba y yo sin dudarlo le dije que se tenía que animar. Que dejará el traje de oficina y se ponga un box. Pasaron un par de años y el momento llegó. RM, su primer box con un conocido de esos tiempos con el que tuvieron el box de Crossfit más grande de sudamérica. El box tenía capacidad de 55 personas en un mismo salón todos entrenando al mismo tiempo muy cómodos y con muchos materiales desplegados.

Ese gym estuvo vigente muchos años, no se si llego a los 10 años pero debe haber estado muy cerca. Lo cierto es que después de tantos años esa sociedad se disolvió cuando la otra parte de esa sociedad se quiso ir de viaje por tiempo indeterminado. Llegó el momento de un nuevo capítulo. ¡Santos!

Así se iba a llamar el gimnasio que hoy es. Que comenzó un poco complicado porque con papeles, obra y espacio cedido por el estado todo se hizo muy burocrático. En medio de todo eso pasó la pandemia que retrasó todo muchísimo y fue cuando mi amigo tuvo que hacer de todo. Dar clases en un parque, clases virtuales, lo que sea para mantener mínimamente algo de su comunidad y al mismo tiempo para darle de comer a su familia. Por suerte la familia apoyó mucho durante esta época tan difícil, y después de la pandemia pasados ya 8 meses más, finalmente el día llegó. Santos abrió y todo fue alegría.

Desde que abrió el nuevo gimnasio no había ido a visitarlo a felicitarlo más que por un mensaje y mucho menos a entrenar y hace rato tenía ganas de hacerlo pero se me hacía difícil por que es realmente bastante trasmano y no es cerca de mi casa. Tuve la suerte de que me prestaron vehículo para poder ir asique hoy después de dejar a los chicos en el colegio, me fui directo para allá.

La visita fue hermosa. Llena de gente conocida, alumnos y amigos también con quienes compartí muchas cenas risas y mates. Pase una mañana muy linda disfrutando del espacio de mi amigo que por cierto quedo increible con muchos elementos nuevos y rodeados de sol y parque durante todo el dia ya que están ubicados en el centro del parque Chacabuco, debajo de la autopista 25 de Mayo. Después de entrenar, me invitaron a tomar unos mates así que estuvimos ahí entre elongando y tomando mate un buen rato para después irme a trabajar.
