Hola, comunidad, deseo que cada uno de ustedes esté pasando unos dias gratos, que tengan amor, salud y libertad financiera y que la música que brote de sus talentos vengade un contexto vivencial de tranquilidad y regocijo. Y quienes no estémn tan bien...pues...que tengan fé y esperanza, fortaleza y paciencia y sepan que en la vida nada es eterno... los problemas tampoco lo son. Asì que eso que les preocupa va a cambiar y tarde o tyemprano se tendrà que resolver.
Hoy vengo a presentar mi "toque de maracas" para ustedes con una canción del folclore venezolano "Las Coplas", en ella se recopilan diversas coplas a las que se agregó melodía para hacer este bello tema.

Ha sido entonado por diversas vocalistas, compartiré acà el video de la versiòn que le hiciera Lilia Vera.

Haciendo un poco de historia, hay quien afirma que la primera copla conocida fue Suspiros de España, del maestro Antonio Álvarez Alonso.
Las coplas son una forma poética de cuatro lineas o versos, se escriben en lenguaje coloquial y las coplas llaneras se inspiran en el llano, ya sea hablando de sus paisajes, ya sea relatando el devenir diario de su gente.
Con respecto a Lilia Vera, es una cantante de música popular venezolananacida en 1951 y , cuyo repertorio incluye mayoritariamente canciones de denuncia, protesta y solicitud de justicia social.

Hello community, here I am again participating in this incredible contest convocated by @lordbutterfly that brings together musicians of all genres and from all over the world. I come to introduce myself playing the maracas, a double instrument (one for each hand). Its beginnings are found in Aboriginal culture and it is the instrument that has caught my attention since I was a child. I accompany them with the song "Sancocho' e huesito". (Little bone soup)

Something peculiar happened to us with this song: we couldn't find the lyrics we know anywhere on the Internet. It doesn't even appear with these lyrics in the videos we listened to before recording! So... you'll notice that the original video has one lyric and we sing another.

To record this video I had the collaboration of several friends: @orlandobello collaborated with the percussion, @sayury played the Venezuelan Cuatro and served as main vocalist, @barbyjr recorded the video and @carmenrivas with @hermaryrc were in charge of doing the choir voices. Regarding the word "sancocho" it refers to a very substantial soup, with a lot of meat, quite a lot of vegetables chopped into large pieces. Here in Venezuela it brings us reminiscences of the time of well-being, in which a sancocho was a gathering of many family and friends and said soup was accompanied with beer, a game of dominoes and loud music.

Yo vengo a presentarme tocando las maracas, instrumento doble (una para cada mano). Sus inicios se encuentran en la cultura aborígen y es el instrumento que ha llamado mi atención desde niña.

Acompaño con ellas la canción "Sancocho' e huesito". Con esta canción nos ocurrió algo peculiar: la letra que conocemos de la misma no la encontramos en parte alguna en Internet ¡Ni siquiera aparece con esta letra en los vídeos que escuchamos antes de grabar! Así que... notarán que el vídeo original tiene una letra y nosotros cantamos otra.

Para grabar este vídeo conté con la colaboración de varios amigos: @orlandobello colaboró con la percusión, @sayury tocó el Cuatro Venezolano y fungió como vocalista principal, @barbyjr grabó el vídeo y
@carmenrivas con @hermaryrc se encargaron de hacer las voces de coro.

Con respecto a la palabra "sancocho" se refiere a una sopa muy sustanciosa, con mucha carne,.bastante verdura picada en trozos grandes. Acá en Venezuela nos trae reminiscencias de la época de bienestar, en la cual un sancocho era reunión de muchos familiares y amigos y dicha sopa se acompañaba con cerveza, juego de dominó y música a todo volumen.

Esta semana 75 les traigo un alegre tema del folklore venezolano: "Alúmbrame el zaguán" (De niña lo cantaba creyendo que decía "Alúmbrame el San Juan").

Es posible que esta palabra "zaguán" no sea conocida en su localidad. El "zaguán" es un pasillo que separa la puerta de la sala de la casa con la puerta que da a la calle.

De niños era un lugar de encuentro porque cuando no nos daban permiso de salir a jugar a la calle ( o nos lo quitaban a causa de alguna travesura cometida) aún podíamos reunirnos allí con las vecinitas a jugar a las muñecas.

La canción menciona la "Cruz de Palma bendita". Otra costumbre: el Domingo de Ramos, antes de la Misa, se distribuyen palmas entre los asistentes en algún lugar cercano a la iglesia pero fuera de ella, para recordar la entrada de nuestro Señor Jesucristo a Jerusalén, cuando las personas colocaba en el piso a su paso, a manera de alfombras, ramas de las palmeras cercanas. Se acostumbra luego armar cruces con esa Palma bendita. Esta cruz se coloca en la puerta de entrada que da hacia el zaguán (en las casas que lo tienen)

Por cierto que al año siguiente se queman algunas de esas palmas y es con esa ceniza que se hacen las cruces en las frentes de los fieles el Miércoles de Ceniza, di a que marca el inicio de la Cuaresma.

Hola comunidad, si bien nuestra religión católica tiene la conclusión de la Navidad el 6 de enero (Día de la Epifanía del Señor o Día de los Reyes Magos), tradicionalmente, en muchas regiones de Venezuela la conclusión de la Navidad es el 2 de febrero. Día de la Candelaria. Litúrgicamente es también el Día de la Presentación del Señor.

Es en este contexto tradicional de religiosidad popular en el que aún estamos en Navidad que toco las maracas para acompañar un aguinaldo tradicional: "La Capilla Está Abierta"

Lo entonamos como canto de entrada en varias de las Misas de Aguinaldo con las que celebramos la Novena de Navidad.

Fueron nueve días llegando a la iglesia cuando aún estaba oscuro, a las 6 de la mañana, a las "Misas de Gallos". Entonces era muy apropiado cantar "la capilla está abierta de noche y de día..."

Después de la Misa era el.momento de la merienda, del compartir galletitas acompañadas de té o café caliente mientras tocábamos aguinaldos, cantábamos y bailábamos. Y luego era el regresar a casa en grupos, cantando por las calles mientras estábamos en grupo los que vivíamos por el mismo sector en ese periodo navideño tan bonito que nos trae mucha alegría y también nostalgia por todos los familiares y amigos que se ven obligados a vivir la Navidad en lejanas tierras.

El 2 de febrero sí concluye la Navidad y ese día en muchos lugares se celebra la "Paradura del Niño". Una tradición muy bella y rica en signos que en otra oportunidad describiré más detalladamente.

Sometimes we hear people say "Happy Holidays" instead of "Merry Christmas" and it is essential that the expression "Christmas" is not lost since it is what reminds us that these are not just any holidays but the celebration of the Nativity of our Lord Jesus Christ , who became human, in everything like us - except sin - and then gave his life for our redemption. The Venezuelan Christmas tradition has many gastronomic points. There are several foods associated with these festivities:
hallacas
Ham bread
hen salad,
dessert papaya,
cream punch or donkey milk (which is its homemade version)
panettone (of Italian origin but adopted a few decades ago)
walnuts and hazelnuts
grapes

None of this was missing before on a Venezuelan Christmas table, no matter how humble it was.

Now the situation has changed too much. These food items remain only for memory and longing... however... we have Christmas joy.

Why? Because what we celebrate is not being able to eat Christmas dishes, nor wearing new clothes and shoes on the 24th and 31st, nor painting the facade of our home.

What we celebrate is the birth of the Child God and that his light of love and peace can shine in our souls even if we lack all material things. Because the meaning of Christmas is too beautiful and profound for human meanness to take away from us.

Su letra es muy importante, nos ayuda a ubicarnos en el verdadero significado de la Navidad que muchas personas pierden. Unas veces escuchamos decir "Felices fiestas" en lugar de "Feliz Navidad" y es esencial que la expresión "Navidad" no se pierda ya que es la que nos recuerda que no son unas fiestas cualquieras sino la celebración de la Natividad de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, quien se hizo humano, en todo igual que nosotros - menos en el pecado - Para luego dar su vida por nuestra redención.

La tradición navideña venezolana tiene muchos puntos gastronómicas. Son varios los alimentos asociados a estas festividades:
hallacas
pan de jamón
ensalada de gallina
dulce de lechosa (papaya)
ponche crema o leche de burra (que es su versión casera)
panetón (de origen italiano pero adoptado hace ya unas cuantas décadas)
nueces y avellanas
uvas

Nada de esto faltaba antes en una mesa navideña venezolana por humilde que fuera. Ahora la situación ha cambiado demasiado. Estos rubros alimenticios quedan sólo para el recuerdo y la añoranza... sin embargo... tenemos la alegría navideña ¿Por qué? Porque lo que celebramos no es el poder comer los platos navideños, ni estrenar ropa y zapatos el 24 y 31, ni el pintar la fachada de nuestra vivienda. Lo que celebramos es el nacimiento del Niño Dios y que su luz de amor y paz pueda brillar en nuestras almas aunque nos falte todo lo material. Porque el sentido de la Navidad es demasiado bello y profundo como para que la mezquindad humana nos lo pueda arrebatar.
