Hello bird friends.
Once again I was able to make a short video of the species of hummingbird that visits our garden every day.
This time It was drinking from the emperor's walking stick flower, a plant from the same family as ginger.
It is a (Phaeochroa cuvierii](https://es.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phaeochroa_cuvierii), a small bird from the Trochilidae family that inhabits our neotropics.
I am glad I was able to capture these images, since it flies fast and its visits last only seconds.
I hope you like this short video and the screenshots I took with the camera on my Samsung Galaxie A 15 phone.

Thank you very much for reading my blog.

Here there are many species of butterflies that amaze us with their beauty. Some are common and it seems that they have always lived here. They are born, grow, reproduce, die in the same place and have territorial behaviour. Others, like Eurybia elvina, appear sporadically or can be seen only once. .

This butterfly is not only rare here, it also has other characteristics that make it very special.

It has eyes that seem green, when feeding on nectar its proboscis enters the flower directly without touching the stigmas, so it does not participate in its pollination.
During its larva stage it produces vibrations with its head with which it communicates with some ants. These in turn feed on a secretion that the larvae produce and provide them with shelter and protection.
It belongs to the Riodinidae family and in this short video you can see the moment it feeds on the nectar of a heliconia flower.
The photo and video were taken by myself in september last year, with my Xiaomi Redmi 9C smartphone.
This is my contribution to the Amazing Nature free themed weekly challenge
Thank you very much for watching, I hope you like it.

Hello friends of Amazing Nature.
I am pleasantly surprised to have been able to record the moment when a Dione juno butterfly lays its eggs on a leaf of its favorite host plant: Passiflora edulis.
Dione juno belongs to the family Nymphalidae and is among the so-called "long-winged" Butterflies (tribe heliconiini). It lives from the southern United States to South America.
After about 100 eggs are laid on the underside of the youngest leaves, it takes 6 days for the larvae to hatch. These go through several stages in their development and, after 9 days, they become pupae. After that period the new butterflies emerge.
Our passion fruit plant is flowering and bearing fruit at the moment, but butterflies and other insects around it are also very active. Dione Juno can become a plague, as she reproduces quickly.
I hope you enjoy the short video I recorded and the photo I took with my Xiaomi Redmi 9 C smartphone.
Thank you very much

Muchas gracias
