Today I have my green spirit soaring and I want to show you the power of recycling through a simple tutorial where I will show you how to make a beautiful floral ornament with a minimalist touch. The ornament is made from recycled corrugated cardboard and a medium LED bulb that I rescued from the junk. The corrugated cardboard I used is regular cardboard with the outer layers removed.

The ornament will not be accompanied by flashy colors, since the objective is to show the material it is made of and thus create awareness of the importance of recycling and second chances. Hoy tengo el espíritu ecológico por las nubes y quiero mostrarles el poder del reciclaje a través de un simple tutorial donde les enseñaré a confeccionar un hermoso adorno floral con un toque minimalista. El adorno está elaborado a partir de cartón ondulado reciclado y un bombillo LED mediano que rescaté de la chatarra. El cartón ondulado que utilizo es cartón normal al cual le he retirado las capas exteriores.

El adorno no estará acompañado de llamativos colores, ya que el objetivo es mostrar el material del que está hecho y así crear conciencia de la importancia del reciclaje y las segundas oportunidades. 1️⃣ Mark and cut out 20 petals on a piece of corrugated cardboard. Remove the flat side of the cardboard to obtain petals that are corrugated on both sides. Be careful when separating the petals, as they become very fragile when the two smooth sides of the cardboard are removed.

The point is that sometimes they work so hard that they don't have time to build themselves a shelter for the winter. That is why sometimes we can see tiny houses in some gardens and many people build these houses for the fairies in gratitude for the great work they do.

With this in mind, I decided to build a little house for the fairy in my garden. So today I bring you a tutorial where I will show you how to make a fairy house for the garden. I'll be using recycled materials and fomi cutouts.

The design of the house is inspired by a tree trunk covered by some moss and a strawberry vine. I hope you like it. Let's start with the tutorial.

En el mundo de la jardinería existe una creencia popular de que en cada jardín vive un hada que trabaja toda la primavera y parte del verano para lograr que las flores luzcan hermosas. La cuestión es que a veces se esfuerzan tanto que no les da tiempo construirse un refugio para el invierno. Es por eso que en algunas ocasiones podremos ver casitas diminutas en algunos jardines y es que muchas personas construyen esas casas para las hadas en agradecimiento por el gran trabajo que realizan.

Teniendo esto en cuenta, decidí construir una pequeña casita para el hada de mi jardín. Así que el día de hoy les traigo un tutorial donde les mostraré cómo confeccionar una casa de hadas para el jardín. Estaré utilizando materiales reciclados y recortes de fomi.

El diseño de la casa está inspirado en un tronco de árbol cubierto por algo de musgo y una enredadera con frutilla. Espero que les guste. Comencemos con el tutorial.

Step by step // Paso a paso

1️⃣ Mark and cut out three circles with irregular edges and staggered sizes. Glue them together to form the base and in the middle glue one and a half cardboard tubes. Repeat the process for the upper floor but on a smaller scale and glue both parts together.

The design is roughly the same: a wall of a house with a window, curtains and flowers around it. Es así como el día de hoy les traigo un tutorial en el cual les estaré mostrando cómo elaborar un adorno para pared inspirado en uno que hice anteriormente. El diseño es a grandes rasgos el mismo: una pared de una casa con una ventana, cortinas y flores alrededor. 1️⃣ Mark and cut out of cardboard a figure in the shape of a house with the following dimensions: 24 cm x 13 cm x 9 cm. Mark and cut out on white cardboard the outline of a window measuring 14 cm x 8 cm.

Mark the outline of the window on the silhouette of the house. Paint the inside of the marked outline yellow and glue the window on top.

A tea bag dispenser is one of those things that you don't know what you want until you see it, especially if you are like me, who enjoys a good cup of green tea every now and then. Taking advantage of the fact that I am recently introducing my wife to the world of tea drinking, I came up with the idea of creating a tea bag dispenser that is not only very useful for organizing the tea bags, but also adds an aesthetic touch to the kitchen at home.

For its elaboration I used 100% recycled materials and acrylic paint in different colors. The dispenser has two storage sections in which the tea bags and some sweetener sachets will be stored. The standard size of the dispenser is designed for the paper sachets that contain the tea bags, but it still works perfectly with the tea bags alone.

Un dispensador de bolsitas de té es una de esas cosas que no sabes qué quieres hasta que la ves, y más si eres como yo, que a cada rato disfruta de una buena taza de té verde. Aprovechando que recientemente estoy introduciendo a mi esposa en el mundo del consumo de té, se me ocurrió la idea de crear un dispensador para bolsas de té que no solo es muy útil para organizar las bolsitas, sino que también aporta un toque estético a la cocina de la casa.

Para su elaboración utilicé 100% materiales reciclados y pintura acrílica de diferentes colores. El dispensador cuenta con dos secciones de almacenamiento en las cuales se almacenarán las bolsitas de té y también algunos sobres de edulcorante. La medida estándar del dispensador está pensada para los sobres de papel que contienen las bolsitas, pero aun así funciona a la perfección con las bolsitas solas.

1️⃣ Cut out the cardboard pieces that make up the floor, walls and roof of the house according to the following measurements:

• Front and back walls: 18 cm x 8 cm.
• Side walls: 14 cm x 8 cm.
• Ceiling: 9.5 cm x 7.5 cm.
• Lower floor: 19 cm x 10 cm.
• Upper floor: 17.5 cm x 9 cm.

But I don't want to start with the tutorial without telling you that at home there are divided opinions about what the ornament really is, since some people think it is a bouquet of sunflowers, while others, like me, say it is a little tree decorated with lots of sunflowers. 1️⃣ We will start with the pot. The first thing to do is to take a plastic container and cut it in half. Then fill it with a piece of cut out polystyrene and line it with carmelite fomi and decorate it with a strip of black fomi.

2️⃣ For the upper part of the tree, cut out a circular piece of polystyrene and sharpen the edges to give it that trimmed feeling. Then heat a green fomi sheet which we will press, cut out and glue on top of the polystyrene.

I am sure that at some point we have all lost a keychain or simply put it somewhere and forgot about it. If so, you are in luck. Well, this time I bring you a craft with which you can keep your key chains organized.

The craft is made of cardboard and decorated with fomi. The materials are recycled and anyone can make their own, since the techniques used are very simple. So if you want to have a beautiful key holder to organize your keys, I invite you to watch the following tutorial.

1️⃣ The first thing to do is to draw a square and a triangle on top, which when cut out will give the silhouette of a house. The entire surface of the silhouette should not be covered, since it is necessary to leave space for a window (measurements in the video).

3️⃣ To make the window, use a rectangle of transparent plastic to which thin strips of white cardboard will be glued to simulate the frames and divisions of the window. Before placing the window, a towelette will be used to make curtains that will be glued underneath the window.

4️⃣ After gluing the window, the embossed cardboard will be used to make semicircular frames that will be glued around the window. Afterwards, the roof segment will be painted with caramel-colored paint.

5️⃣ Once the structure of the house is ready, the next step is to make the ornamental pieces. To do this, it is necessary to mark in fomi the silhouette of a flower and cut it out. For a change, two shades of pink and a deep red have been used. Then, with the help of a die or by drawing freehand, the silhouettes of the leaves are marked and cut out.

Greetings friends, artisans and craft lovers. Today I bring you a craft that can get more than one of you out of a tight spot, because it can be a very nice gift that we can make at the last minute. As you may have noticed, this time I will show you how to create a beautiful bouquet of multicolored tulips using mainly fomi, except for the stems and pistils.

It turns out that my mom's aunt had a birthday and since I have been doing some floral themed crafts lately, my mom asked me to make her a bouquet of tulips to give to my aunt, since she is a fan of flowers. You can't imagine what a beautiful garden she has.

The truth is that I had not had the opportunity to find out about the colors of tulips, so at the last minute I had the idea of making multicolored tulips using the colors of fomi that I had available. Shortly thereafter, my wife informed me that each color, both in the tulips and in the other flowers, has its meaning. I hope that the colors I used in the bouquet do not have a negative meaning.

Materials

📋 Step by step 📋

1️⃣ To begin with, the first thing I did was to use a spoon and mark its outline on a sheet of red fomi with the help of a pen without ink. The silhouette I used is formed by a pattern of three petals. After marking the pattern in different colors, I cut them all out.

2️⃣ Making use of a thermoforming iron, each of the patterns, after heating the fomi, I pressed it with a spoon to obtain the desired concave shape. In the videotutorial I warn it, but I want to do it here as well. It is necessary to be very careful when thermoforming, as there is a possibility of getting burns.

3️⃣ Next, I unwound about a foot of RJ-45 cable to use the wires inside. Each wire comes in pairs, but to increase the thickness, I decided to join two pairs together to form a stronger wire.

4️⃣ Next, I placed three yellow pipe cleaners side by side and cut them into small pieces. Similarly, I attached three small pieces to one end of the freshly coiled wires. Thus I would give formed the structure of the stem and its pistil.

5️⃣ As the stems should be mostly green, I wrapped them all with floral tape and trimmed some of them, as they will not have the same height in the bouquet. You should be careful when trimming the stems so that you don't have some flowers of the same color at the same height, as I did.

6️⃣ Once the stems are ready, we can begin to assemble the flowers. To do this, we must pierce each of the fomi patterns in the center. Then, we introduce the stems and glue the petals together to form the first part of the tulip. Repeat the process with the first layer and the tulips are ready.

7️⃣ The tulips are ready, but, as the title says, it is a bouquet, so they must be joined together. To join the tulips and form the bouquet, I used floral tape to fix their stems at the base of the bouquet. Not only the base of the bouquet, where the tall tulips are separated from the short ones, but I also applied some floral tape.

8️⃣ Already the tulip bouquet was taking shape, but it needed leaves. To make the leaves I used an inkless pen and traced the outline of the leaves on a sheet of green fomi. After cutting out the leaves, I thermoformed them and, once hot, folded them in half and scrunched them into the shape shown below.

9️⃣ With the leaves ready, I could add them to the bouquet and that's what I did. I started by placing a couple at the base of the bouquet, where the stems begin to separate, and then placed two higher up on the level that separates the tall flowers from the short ones. This way, the tulip bouquet would be ready, but I felt something was missing.

🔟 After placing the leaves, I felt that the bottom of the tulip bouquet was too empty, so I decided to add a bow. Looking through the scraps of fomi, I found a sheet of frosted caramel-colored fomi and decided to make a bow for the bouquet.

To make the bow, I folded the fomi in three parts and squeezed it in the middle. To keep the shape, I added a ribbon around it and then attached it to the bouquet in the place I thought it would be most suitable.

This way the bouquet of multicolored tulips, decorated with a bow and made mostly with fomi, would be ready. Today I bring you a simple tutorial in which I show you step by step how to make a beautiful cardboard lamp with a modern style. This lamp is 100% functional and is made using recycled cardboard cut into pallets and placed one on top of the other to form a very peculiar geometric structure.

To make the base I used the casing of a damaged LED bulb and by inverting its position I managed to obtain a beautiful base for my lamp. What an irony of life, first it was a bulb and now it is part of a lamp. But well, let's get down to business and start with the tutorial, which I hope you enjoy.

El día de hoy les traigo un tutorial sencillo en el cual les muestro paso a paso cómo confeccionar una hermosa lámpara de cartón con un estilo moderno. Dicha lámpara es 100% funcional y está confeccionada utilizando cartón reciclado cortado en paletas y colocados uno encima de otro para formar una estructura geométrica muy peculiar.

Para elaborar la base utilicé la carcasa de un bombillo LED dañado y al invertir su posición logré obtener una hermosa base para mi lámpara. Qué ironía de la vida, primero fue un bombillo y ahora es parte de una lámpara. Pero bueno, vayamos al grano y empecemos con el tutorial, el cual espero disfruten.

For the realization of this craft I used red and blue fomi, which are the characteristic colors of the costume of this superhero. The internal structure is composed of plastic balls of different sizes and I drew the lines of the suit with permanent marker. Y sí, esta es mi primera vez haciendo un fofucho. Si bien el procedimiento para hacer este Spider-Man 3D es muy fácil, debo decir que aún me hace falta practicar un montón y tomar una que otra clase de anatomía 😅.

Para la realización de esta manualidad empleé fomi rojo y azul, los cuales son los colores característicos del traje de este superhéroe. La estructura interna está compuesta por pelotitas de plástico de diferente tamaño y el trazado de las líneas del traje las hice con marcador permanente. Espero que les guste y se animen a hacer alguno por ustedes mismos, comencemos con el tutorial.

1️⃣ To start, the first thing I did was to cut out two square pieces of red fomi to heat with a hair iron and thermoform around the larger plastic ball. After thermoforming, trim the excess fomi until you have two sides of red fomi that will cover the ball completely.

In the case of the blue fomi, I repeated the same process, only in this case I used the smaller plastic ball.

For the preparation of this cocktail I have taken certain creative liberties, so it is important to clarify that it is an interpretation of the original recipe. This recipe can be found on the back of the "Mulata" orange liqueur bottle. Among the modifications I made is the incorporation of Havana Club Añejo Especial Rum instead of the Añejo Rum specified on the bottle.

In other occasions I have used recycled cardboard as the main material, but today I will take a different approach. Today I bring you a tutorial where I will show you step by step how to create a chest using paper rolls. And if you just read that right, the chest is made almost entirely out of magazine paper rolls. With this craft I achieve two main goals: recycle a bunch of paper and get a new container to store things.

I must admit that at first I was a little worried that the paper rolls might not have the necessary rigidity, but I must admit that I was surprised. As you will see below, the chest is not small at all and yet it shows considerable toughness. So I invite you to join me in this tutorial where we will be creating a chest made with paper rolls.

En otras ocasiones he utilizado como material principal el cartón reciclado, pero hoy adoptaré un enfoque diferente. El día de hoy les traigo un tutorial donde les mostraré paso a paso cómo crear un cofre utilizando rollitos de papel. Y si acabas de leer bien, el cofre está elaborado casi en su totalidad con rollitos de papel de revista. Con esta manualidad logro dos objetivos principales: reciclar un montón de papel y obtener un nuevo recipiente para almacenar cosas.

Debo admitir que al principio me preocupó un poco la posibilidad de que los rollos de papel no contaran con la rigidez necesaria, pero debo admitir que me sorprendió. 1️⃣ The first thing to do is to take the sheets of paper and wrap them on their longest side to form the paper rolls. To make the paper rolls we can use chopsticks or some other cylindrical tool of at least 6 mm in diameter. Once the rolls are made, cut them into segments of 11 cm, 18 cm and 25 cm.

3️⃣ Now we will create the lid of the chest. To do this, we measure the length of the side grids and using a compass we will draw and cut out two semicircles. We will join the semicircles together using the larger paper rolls. Additionally, we will put the frames to the lid and the lock system, which consists of a set of paper rolls, which will be glued to the lid and the chest but in an intercalary way.

3️⃣ Ahora crearemos la tapa del cofre. Para ello, medimos la longitud de las rejillas laterales y utilizando un compás dibujaremos y recortaremos dos semicírculos. 4️⃣ The structure of the chest is ready and now we will create a few more paper rolls, but this time these paper rolls will be much longer than the others. One option is to cut the sheets in half and glue the ends together to make them longer. After creating the rolls, we will flatten them and weave them between the pillars of the grids.

Greetings friends of the community. This is my first time posting here and I want to share with you a drink that contrasts perfectly the sweetness of honey with the acidity of lemon. I had never made a drink with these characteristics before because I am not a big fan of the taste of gin, but after doing some research I discovered that it can be enhanced with some ingredients.

So today I bring you a video tutorial where I will be showing you how I make my own interpretation of the Bee's Knees. In case you don't know it, the Bee's Knees originated during the U.S. Dry Law (1920-1933), when alcoholic beverages were illegal. The name comes from a colloquial expression meaning “the best” [1]

In a literal sense, bee's knees means “bee's knees,” but figuratively it means something like “the eighth wonder,” “the best in the world,” “the ultimate” [2]

Saludos amigos de la comunidad. Esta es mi primera vez publicando por acá y quiero compartirles un trago que contrasta perfectamente la dulzura de la miel con la acidez del limón. Nunca antes había elaborado un trago con estas características pues no soy muy fanático del sabor de la ginebra pero al investigar un pco pude descubrir que se puede matizar con algunos ingredientes.

Así que el día de hoy les trago un video tutorial donde les estaré mostrando como hago mi propia interpretación del Bee's Knees. Por si no lo conocen el Bee's Knees tuvo su origen durante el marco de la Ley seca estadounidense (1920-1933), cuando las bebidas alcohólicas eran ilegales. El nombre proviene de una expresión coloquial que significa «el mejor» [1]

En sentido literal, bee's knees quiere decir «rodillas de abeja», pero en sentido figurado quiere decir algo como «la octava maravilla», «lo mejor del mundo», «lo máximo» [2]
