Para esta semana de del concurso Vibes te presento el tema principal de la pelicula La lista de Schindler, una obra cinematográfica basada en hechos reales sobre el holocausto nazi, si no las has visto, tienes que verla, pero debes prepatarte para ver imaganes desgarradoras.

Fue el genio de Jhon Williams quien compuso la música para esta pelicula.

Aqui te presento mi versión con dos mandolinas acompañantes y una solista, además toco la viola, instrumento que es muy hermoso también.

Aunque es un tema triste no deja de ser hermoso.

For this week's Vibes contest, I present the main theme from the movie Schindler's List, a film based on real events about the Nazi Holocaust. If you haven't seen it, you have to watch it, but be prepared to see some heartbreaking images.

It was the genius of John Williams who composed the music for this film.

Here I present my version with two accompanying mandolins and a soloist. I also play the viola, which is a very beautiful instrument as well.

Para esta semana número 38 de Vibes les presento un tema titulado Danza Paraguaya del compositor y guitarrista del Paraguay Agustín Barrios Mangoré. Esta obra musical fue un obsequio del maestro Barrios a su amigo Martín Borda y Pagola en el año 1926. Esta obra se ha convertido en estudio y referencia de mushco guitarristas a nivel internacional, entre ellos el maestro venezolano Alirio Díaz, quién revisó y realizó las digitaciones para guitarra.

Como soy mandolinista, he realizado una versión para mi instrumento de esta obra que siempre me ha gustado, inspirado en la versión de un gran mandolinista como lo es Cristobal Soto, dándole mi toque personal y te la presento en esta oportunidad.

For this 38th week of Vibes, I present a piece titled "Danza Paraguaya" by Paraguayan composer and guitarist Agustín Barrios Mangoré. This musical work was a gift from Maestro Barrios to his friend Martín Borda y Pagola in 1926. This work has become a study and reference for many guitarists internationally, including the Venezuelan maestro Alirio Díaz, who reviewed and composed the guitar fingerings.

As a mandolinist, I have made a version for my instrument of this work, which I have always loved, inspired by the version of a great mandolinist like Cristobal Soto, adding my personal touch, and I present it to you here.

Esta semana 29 les traigo una canción del compositor y flautista venezolanao radicado en España, Omar Acosta. Fue lanzada en el disco Venezolada en el año 1993, esta canción tiene un nombre muy particular, la verdad no creo que tenga traducción a otro idioma, y es que cuando algo nos gusta en Venezuela o queremos decirle a alguien que está bien vestida o va para una fiesta, le decimos "¡eessoo!", te ves bien. También puede tener otras connotaciones, si tienes alguna dejo en los comentarios. Esta canción en ritmo de Choro refleja la alegría de esos momentos.
Espero la disfrutes tanto como yo al interpretarla.

This week, the 29th, I bring you a song by the Venezuelan composer and flutist based in Spain, Omar Acosta. It was released on the album Venezolada in 1993. This song has a very particular name, I really don't think it has a translation into another language. This week I brought my wife, who is also a mandolinist, to play together a song that is one of the most representative of our vast Venezuelan music, it is a Pajarillo con Chipola.
It is a song that has no author, it is traditional in Venezuelan music and the arrangement that we play here is from the group Raíces de Venezuela, a group that we admire a lot.
As you will see, we recorded the two mandolins and I also recorded a small Venezuelan cuatro solo.

En esta ocasión les traigo una canción que aunque no lo parezca es un Tango, del gran compositor Astor Piazzola, se trata de Oblivion.(Olvido)

Oblivion: Una oda a la melancolía del tango

Oblivion, compuesta por Astor Piazzolla en 1982, es una de las piezas más emblemáticas del tango nuevo. Su melodía melancólica y conmovedora, acompañada por un ritmo pausado y cadencioso, la ha convertido en un clásico atemporal que ha trascendido las fronteras del género.

Piazzolla compuso Oblivion para la película Enrico IV de Marco Bellocchio, donde la pieza sirve para ambientar una escena de flashback. Esta semana les presento la Invención No. 13 en La menor, BWV 784.Johann Sebastian Bach compuso esta pieza que forma parte de una colección de quince composiciones para teclado a dos voces conocidas como las "Invenciones y Sinfonías". Las Invenciones se caracterizan por su estructura concisa y su estilo contrapuntístico, mientras que las Sinfonías son similares pero utilizan contrapunto a tres voces. Curiosamente, una versión anterior de esta invención apareció en el Clavierbüchlein vor Wilhelm Friedemann Bach en 1720 antes de que la versión final que conocemos hoy fuera publicada en 1723. Las intrincadas armonías y líneas melódicas de Bach hacen de esta pieza una exploración encantadora de la invención musical. 🎵

This week I present to you Invention No. 13 in A minor, BWV 784. Johann Sebastian Bach composed this piece that is part of a collection of fifteen compositions for keyboard for two voices known as the " Inventions and Symphonies". The Inventions are characterized by their concise structure and contrapuntal style, while the Symphonies are similar but use three-voice counterpoint. Interestingly, an earlier version of this invention appeared in the Clavierbüchlein vor Wilhelm Friedemann Bach in 1720 before the final version we know today was published in 1723. Bach's intricate harmonies and melodic lines make this piece a charming exploration of musical invention. 🎵
