The truth is, the lyrics here encapsulates all I was feeling at the time. It was an outburst of sorts. I have a very active imagination which can enter overdrive when allowed to roam freely. It happened that day and just like everything else, taking those feelings and penning them as words made me feel better.

The best part was how easy it came to me. Maybe because I had been listening to the same sound for months before I finally let the words flow. I hope you like it and thank you for taking the time to listen.

Anyway, I held on for only three months
after the song's release and began to
listen to it after downloading - night and
day. Rema is an unusual artist to me. He
has this unique ability to transfer
emotional energy into his music be it a
high or slow tempo.

When Rema sings Afro dance, you dance. And you don't just dance, you move to the story of his music. When he gives a love song, you are transported to another dimension as well. I don't know if it happens to others, but it happens a lot
with me.

Rema has not just the gift of good music
but a hypnotic voice. You can't just help but
pay attention. The way he rolls his speech
around musical instruments is noteworthy.
One time, I thought he'd make a fortune as
a snake charmer of some sort. He's that
good.

What about Charm has so much...charm? Could it be the lyrics? Or is it mainly the
music? I don't know. But the soft intro
lulls you into a state of calm...like weed
(according to a friend) and then thrusts
you into bursts of flavours. His lyrics are
kind of self explanatory and well, I'm a
girl. No matter what, I am still drawn to
things that bounce on my emotions.

Rather than sing Rema's lyrics all through,
I added a bit of mine. I got inspired by a
book I read. She saw him. She liked him.
She got him. He was not easy to conquer but the dark lives and breed.

I have always been fascinated by the concept of marriage. Scared too but mostly fascinated. Living with someone for the rest of your life? Isn't that something?

This Challenge was also a way for me to get a look into the lives of these people. For this challenge, I was privileged to get Mr. and Mrs. Adelusi who have been married for 27 years to talk to us.

The interaction of these two is something
to be admired. They have a flow that is
seamless and their friendship is experienced daily by their children. In this world where divorce is now the solution for a lack of effort in committed relationships, I see hope and I hold on to it.

This a typical Nigerian home with very Nigerian Parents 😂 yet, they exhibit the habit of love and patience to each other. They highlight the benefits of actions not only by words, but in actions as well.

Good evening Afritunes. Another great week of songs. Hehe.

This week I’ll be presenting a cover of a song @justfavour sent to me. The way the lady sang it was so cool and her voice was something else. So I decided to do it even if it took me a while. Lol. I was lazy.

This song is basically an appreciation song to God for his faithfulness and goodness in our lives. For the times he’s been there when we see or we don’t. Words are never enough.

I saw different versions of this song and decided to make my own version instead. So, I went on YouTube, looked for a suitable instrumental (copyright free) and used it. That is what you hear.

I spent time on this one too because smoothing the notes and timing the intro was crucial. It was also quite tasking to find a suitable instrumental for this. As easy as the song looks, implementing your choice of sound on it takes a bit more than just selection.

After many browse through, I settled on this one. Who else is getting Anime/Disney vibes from the instrumental? Hahaha.

Anyway, I got to learn a new thing. Many new things actually. And it was fun doing something like that. It was tasking but the end was worth it. And I look forward to many more like this. For this week, Who's your guy? by Spyro was my pick because incase you didn't know, today is my buddy's @tengolotodo birthday.

I wrote the lyrics with him in mind. If I could give him the world, I would. He has been there since day one of my meeting him. You don't come by someone like him everyday and this is just a token of my gratitude for his constant support and mentorship. If you haven't spoken with Tengo, you have no idea what the sun sounds like. I always ask him how he's never sad.

His happiness and contant summer mood is
contagious and he has rubbed off on me;
teaching me valuable things and multiple
approaches to this thing called life. He is one of the very few I call a friend because he is real. When we talk about friends, we mean people who support, love and embrace you with all your flaws; people who push you to do better. To be better. I have only a few of these people.

It is so sad that in this world we live in, many people do something for you with an expectation and this is the reason why when you find someone who accepts all of you (even the bratty, immature side), hold on.

This is an appreciation post to the best person in the world. My number one fan and a huge factor to why I grow everyday. He will tell you what you need to hear but not in a way that it destroys you. He's like a Manny😂. Tender yet firm, kind but strict and he gives really good pokes and KUTAs when I begin to slack. When I have kids, they will hear all about their grandpa😂.

The lyrics basically tells of how victory comes and how triumphant the artist is over all trials. Many may agree especially given the time in which the album made appearance. He lost his son. I decided to take this song and pour my frustration from the other day into it, at the same time affirming that it'll take more than just a few choice words to bring me down.

We all have had various experiences with people. People who come to you with a smile but plot evil behind you. In my lyrics, I try to dutifully convey my feelings:

This line simply means, Their words or their mocks can't do anything because I already have a thick skin. I may look like a diva but I am relentless and can be ruthless when going after what I want. On the weekends, I let out my other side (the shameless tomboy) because the work I do, isn't diva friendly. I become the opposite of a woman when I need to. The part of me that most will never see is my feminine side. Why? It is my most vulnerable side. I only let it out to those I trust (with my life). It's Act like a Woman, Think like a Man all over again.

This line is me saying that everyone has problems. What I do is do what brings me joy and forget about what the world is saying. It can be translated as Take a bath, make coffee and read a book.

I learned that all I need is within me. Ever since I fully understood that I am in full control of how my life turns out, it was movement at full speed. I cried when I lost my entire HBD savings but then I remembered the asset I have inside me. With deep sadness, I laid down to meditate and call my future. What do you know? The Mind is a powerful asset! Winch dey learn work for my side.

To me, the only thing between my dreams and I is myself. The day I begin to blame others for my failures is the day I become subject to people's opinion of me. Just incase you are wondering, I and Rema are namesakes. Lol.

My Mom and Dad (when they were still together) took my naming so serious, they embarked on a fast. They both got the same name for me; Divine Mercy. I came out of my Mom's womb smiling (she said she never even felt pain. She only knew she was in labour when the water broke).

However, The name Deraa is the shortened name for Chideraa (an Igbo name) which means What God has written, he has written. Yep! I am stamped alright!

I be Deraa for life simply means I can't be rid of that easily. They may take on Goliath's form but I have a fearless Tiger within me and she's not dormant! I was born to win and Win I shall!

For this week, I decided to do a cover of one of the
most trending Afro songs by Asake titled Lonely
At The Top. Asake is a famous Nigerian Artist
known for his style and rigour in the afro
industry. Why I like this song though?

One message this song conveys is that success
can not be achieved in groups. You would need
to face your calling and overcome obstacles
on your own. You grow alone. It tells that
people who want something out of life, who
genuinely go after their dreams may have to
do so alone.

The one thing we can never deny is that going
after what we want or what we think is right
might leave us isolated. We may have dreams
that appear riduculous and nonsensical to a
normal person. Unless you're determined and
resolved, going after that dream may never be
possible.

There are people who would talk, laugh and
mock you for believing in you. There would
be pointing, jeers and humiliation from those
who are faithless and prefer to spread misery.
Why I like this song (so much as to make my
own cover) is how it relates to me. I have lost
friends and even people I called family in my
pursuit for growth. So, when I listen to this
song, I don't live in the present. I am transported
to the future where I get to bring my dreams
(call them) into reality.

There are days when I'm tired. Fighting all the
time and holding on with all my might. Some
people say not letting go hurts more but I call
BS! The day I let go and give in is the day I die!

I started playing fee days ago after so many pokes from my friend. He'd been adamant I move my focus and channel my energy too but I can be very stubborn. Anyway, I finally
started. For those who do not know, according to my little knowledge, RS is a collecting game. You get to collect NFTs. I am still learning myself, so I'd appreciate any additions.

So, if you like to collect NFTs, this is for you. I started by logging in with the Hive Keychain. RS uses this extension. And if you have an account with Hive, you automatically have an account with Rising Star.

After logging in, I began to complete busking missions to earn Starbits. Starbits are like points I guess and they can be used to purchase packs. Packs, like I was told, is important if you want to increase your Starbit earnings. You can also purchase Packs with Hive. FYI, I'm a newbie to this and still exploring so, I stand to be corrected.

So far, I have completed more than 50 Illegal Busking missions, 10 Open Mic and less than five Midweek Support Slot. What I love about RS is the simplicity of it. Although, I did come across activities that left me at a loss, I understood that it was normal and would have to ingratiate myself with the game to fully get the gist.

Anyway, this post is supposed to be centered on my packs. I got them for 100,000 starbits with the help of @tengolotodo (who has been poking me nonstop about RS). When I fully fully
understand how this stuff works, I'll make a tutorial for people like me.
