Because @creativeworkhour is comprised of friends who met in a variety of knowledge, productivity, and technology seeking online circles from all over the world, from our very first year, 2021, the Crew has celebrated "Friendsgiving" to spend time together on their own special holiday and set of traditions.

This year marks the 5th Annual Friendsgiving and was attended by friends, on & off chain, from five time zones, crossing the USA, Canada, UK, Austria, and the Czech Republic, including:

Those who joined us who have active HIVE accounts. For each attendee with an active account we staked 1 HIVE each in their honour, just as we do every day.

CWH has several special features and the Friendsgiving occasion allowed us the pleasure of presenting one of them, what we call a "Tiny Desk Concert", a shared live performance by one of the crew. Today's Tiny Desk Concert was Burton's Sonata for Flute and Piano, with Bailey Phillips on Piano.

In this number 14 of 30 videos that Alessandra has recorded for CWH , you'll enjoy hearing Bailey play as you see his IRL score being played, complete with the perfectly-timed page turns (we hope our dear friend @mipiano sees this post!).

No Friendsgiving is complete without references to the traditional foods from A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving like Popcorn, Jelly Beans, and Toast prepared by Snoopy and Woodstock. And, the highlight of the party was @bitterirony's streaming the live feed of the famous Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, where we saw a 50 foot tall SNOOPY!!

Creative Work Hour hosts Co-Working for Hive space online daily. Our participants come to the sessions from 8 different time zones. Half of them are working on Hive dev projects or creative content during our 2 sessions per day.

In this episode, Alessandra explains how the whole vibe of the CWH space can be wrapped up in one freedom-loving phrase: **“We’ll see ya when we see ya!” **

My friend @ph1102 recently reminded me why it matters. He’d joined a few sessions, then said something to the effect of, ”I really should get back to CWH. I have things I need to work on there. I should just really get myself there so I can focus on those things.”

In my Texas upbringing, I thought, “whoa, there cowboy :cowboy: , easy does it. That’s not how we roll.”

You see, CWH is a bit counterintuitive as per the “accountability” trends. We believe that as hosts, our job is to show up every day to keep the room safe, steady, and open — same time, same channel.

But as the creative crew? Y’all should just come when it works for you.
No guilt, no pressure. Just, “We see ya when we see ya.”

Cognitive science research shows us that working alongside others doing similar things enhances the outcome and enjoyment of learning and knowledge working. Adding in a mindfulness exercise as work commences increases the likelihood of focus, flow, and deep work.

We design every CWH session, to include these elements and we blend them with intention setting and a feeling of belonging, so that creatives can show up, contribute to the camaraderie, and get some traction on projects that matter.

Since February 2022, Creative Work Hour (CWH) has supported Classroom 2B at FFLV, Food for Life Vrindavan (pronounced Vrin-DAH-vuhn), which is a remarkable school and charity in India that educates and empowers girls who might otherwise be denied that chance.

FFLV provides not only free education, but also meals, uniforms, and healthcare, creating a foundation for dignity, creativity, and hope for higher education.

At Creative Work Hour, we believe creativity begins where safety and wellbeing are secure. When a girl is nourished, taught, and believed in, she grows into a creator of art, of change, of a better world.

FFLV partners since February of 2022, this is why Creative Work Hour remains committed to the girls and the community of FFLV.
