Ich find es super, dass wir diesmal eine gute Mischung aus Teilnemeher:innen hatten. Es gab "alte Hasen" (wenn man das nach 3 Wettbewerben schon sagen kann) und komplett neue. Schonmal ein zeichen dafür, dass wir Wachstumspotenzial haben.

Aktuell Versuche ich noch eine Gesunde Mischung zu finden. Auch wenn die Videos nach wenig Aufwand aussehen, steckt da doch einiges an Zeit drinnen. :)

Ich freue mich schon auf den nächsten Wettbewerb.

Es waren wirklich klasse Fotos dabei und es war wirklich schwer einen Gewinner zu wählen. Ich bin am überlegen, in die Beschreibung der Wettbewerbe noch die Kategorien mitaufzunehmen, auf die ich achte: bspw. Komposition, technische Feinheiten, Emotionen.
Das würde es erleichtern bei der Bewertung, aber vielleicht auch den ein oder anderen abschrecken an diesem Format teilzunehmen. Das wäre nur leider kontraproduktiv. :D

Sollte das Format größer werden, worauf ich hoffe, dann werde ich das Setup auf jeden Fall erweitern, vorallem für die Auswertungsvideos. Ich bin hier gerade noch etwas in der Findungsphase zwischen realistischen Aufwand und meiner privaten Zeit. Ich möchte das Format auf jeden Fall aufrecht erhalten, dass schaffe ich aber auch nur, wenn meine private Zeit das zulässt. Also könnte ich bspw. aktuell nicht 10 Stunden in das ganze investieren - würde das ganze aber nochmal auf ein anderes Level heben.

Mal schauen wie sich das ganze hier auf der Chain entwickelt

Hello everyone, I’m spending a week on the island of Thassos. I want to work on overcoming my fear of speaking on camera when people are nearby. Right now, there are a few people around who might glance at me or think it’s odd. The ferry isn’t full; usually, you’d see lots of people taking photos or videos. Today, I’m the only one doing it.

Somehow, you can’t get it right: When there are many people, you feel like everyone’s watching. When there are few, you stand out more. So no matter what you do, it never feels quite right. That’s why I want to lose the fear of pulling out my phone or the Osmo Action, using the microphone, and just talking. I believe that once you overcome this fear, you’ll be able to share and show so much more.

This is a form of self-realization for me. I’m trying to record the church right now. The screen is a bit too dark, but the blue sky looks beautiful, and the railing adds a nice contrast. Thassos is located in Greece and is the northernmost Greek island. Geographically, it’s close to North Macedonia, but politically, it belongs to Greece.

What I discovered here on the island is a car wreck. It’s below a cliff. It might have fallen there or been dumped illegally. I brought my camera with a 600mm zoom to take a photo. Come along, I’ll show you!

Here you can see the wreck. The question is whether it was intentionally dumped because it might’ve been expensive to remove it from the island. Regardless, the island is stunning, and the water is crystal clear. I’m usually only here in the summer, and the water isn’t as clear then. It’s really impressive!

I’m testing how it feels to speak freely even with people nearby. Right now, it’s quite pleasant because the island is almost empty. A few cars are passing, but that doesn’t bother me. I hope the microphone picked everything up well. I’m slowly finding my flow, and it’s getting a bit easier.

This experiment is exciting: Spending time on a (nearly) deserted island outside the holiday season to overcome the fear of speaking freely on camera – even when people might be watching. I have a week here and am curious to see what comes of it: whether I make progress, how I articulate myself, how I look at the camera, and how my gestures come across. Maybe this will inspire someone who has similar struggles.

I know many people think, 'I’d love to do that, but I just don’t dare.' Especially when it comes to filming outdoors. At home, I don’t have the space, and even with good lighting, it doesn’t look great in my opinion. That’s why this is a great mix. I’m trying it out. If I find it’s not for me, I can stop. But at least I gave it a shot. And that’s what matters: just doing it!

Hallo zusammen, ich bin jetzt für eine Woche auf der Insel Thassos. Ich werde versuchen, an meiner Angst zu arbeiten, vor der Kamera zu sprechen, wenn Leute in der Nähe sind. Gerade sind hier beispielsweise Leute, die vielleicht schauen oder mich komisch ansehen. Das Boot ist nicht voll, normalerweise sieht man viele, die Fotos oder Videos machen. Jetzt bin ich der Einzige.

Irgendwie kann man es niemandem recht machen: Wenn viele Leute da sind, hat man das Gefühl, alle gucken. Wenn wenige Leute da sind, fällt man mehr auf. Also egal, wie man es macht, irgendwie passt es nie. Deshalb geht es für mich darum, die Angst zu verlieren, vor vielen Leuten das Handy oder die Osmo Action auszupacken, das Mikrofon zu benutzen und einfach zu reden. Ich glaube, wenn man das einmal überwunden hat, wird man viel erzählen und zeigen können.

Das ist für mich eine Art Selbstverwirklichung. Ich versuche gerade, die Kirche aufzunehmen. Der Bildschirm ist leider zu dunkel, aber das Blau des Himmels sieht wunderschön aus, und die Reling davor gibt einen tollen Kontrast. Die Insel Thassos liegt in Griechenland und ist die nördlichste griechische Insel. Sie gehört geografisch fast zu Nordmazedonien, politisch aber zu Griechenland.

Was ich hier auf der Insel entdeckt habe, ist ein Autowrack. Es liegt unterhalb einer Klippe. Es könnte dort runtergestürzt sein oder illegal entsorgt worden sein. Ich habe meine Kamera mit einem 600-mm-Zoom mitgebracht, um ein Foto davon zu machen. Kommt mit, ich zeige es euch!

Hier sieht man das Wrack. Die Frage ist, ob es absichtlich entsorgt wurde, weil es teuer gewesen wäre, es von der Insel zu bringen. Trotz allem: Die Insel ist wunderschön, das Wasser ist kristallklar. Normalerweise bin ich immer nur im Sommer hier, und da ist das Wasser nicht so klar. Echt beeindruckend!

Ich teste hier, wie es sich anfühlt, frei zu sprechen, auch wenn Leute in der Nähe sind. Gerade ist das ganz angenehm, weil die Insel fast leer ist. Es kommen ein paar Autos vorbei, aber das stört mich nicht. Ich hoffe, das Mikrofon hat alles gut aufgenommen. Ich merke langsam, dass ich in den Redefluss komme. Es wird etwas leichter.

Dieses Experiment ist spannend: Mal außerhalb der Ferienzeit auf eine (fast) einsame Insel zu fahren und die Angst zu verlieren, einfach frei vor der Kamera zu sprechen – auch wenn Leute zuschauen könnten. Ich habe eine Woche Zeit auf der Insel und bin gespannt, was dabei herauskommt. Ob ich Fortschritte mache, wie ich mich artikuliere, wie ich in die Kamera schaue und wie meine Gestik wirkt. Vielleicht inspiriert das jemanden, der ähnliche Probleme hat.

Ich weiß, viele denken sich: ‚Ich würde das gerne, aber ich traue mich nicht.‘ Vor allem, wenn es darum geht, draußen zu filmen. Zuhause fehlt mir der Platz, und selbst mit gutem Licht sieht es meiner Meinung nach einfach nicht schön aus. Deshalb ist das hier eine gute Mischung. Ich probiere es aus. Sollte ich merken, dass es nichts für mich ist, kann ich es immer noch lassen. Aber ich habe es zumindest versucht. Und darum geht es doch: einfach machen!

What actually happened in Vault 92, what experiments were conducted here, and what caused the Vault to fail?

Vault 92 was planned as a last refuge for creative minds. More precisely, musical talents from the United States were supposed to find refuge here - at least that's what they were told. An experiment was carried out here with white noises, thereby humans are fed with information, which is brought to the subconsciousness by acoustic signals. The execution of the experiment in Vault 92 is particularly perfidious, since the scientist John Malleus received completely different instructions than, the Overseer Richard Rubin.

Professor John Malleus assumed that the experiment was to investigate whether white noises could improve the abilities of the musicians. Richard Rubin, on the other hand, knew the real plan of Vault-Tec: to create better soldiers. With the white noises, Vault-Tec wanted to achieve that the musicians would be more willing to fight and generally develop a higher will to fight.

As a basis for argumentation, why musicians were chosen, entries can be found that they have a particularly trained ear. Vault-Tec hoped that this would increase the efficiency with which white noise is picked up by the brain.

At the beginning of the experiment, the musicians were only exposed to the white noises while recording in the recording studio and Professor John Malleus even records in his terminal that this indeed seems to improve the musical abilities of the participants. He was even able to note socially positive events, with two of the musicians developing a love affair with each other.

Shortly thereafter, Overseer Richard Rubin decides that the musicians are not exposed enough to the white noise and now orders them to be sonicated in their sleeping quarters as well. Professor Malleus does not find out about this. It doesn't take long for the first changes in the musicians' behavior to become noticeable. We find terminal entries in which some musicians complain of headaches, or that some have a higher aggressiveness level. Finally, one of the musicians kills other people in the Vault and attacks security personnel. Rubin, however, does not yet see this as very threatening, and Professor Malleus is also initially just puzzled by the events, but cannot place them in order, since he is not aware that the residents continue to be sounded in their own rooms.

However, it is not long before other residents become aggressive and kill other residents. Within a very short time, Professor Malleus estimates that 30% of the residents of the Vault, which is 70 people, have gone clinically insane. At this point, 35 people have already died. In his terminal, we can see that at this point the professor considers the experiment a definite failure and a big mistake.

He asks the Overseer to stop the experiment and for all the inhabitants to leave the Vault as soon as possible. But Overseer Rubin sees the current losses as more of a means to an end and sacrifices that must be made for science. To counter the aggression of the participants, Rubin has another hidden message inserted into the white noise: "Reason is not statistical," which is a direct reference to George O. Wells' book 1984. However, this "defensive noise" had no effect on the inmates.

The situation becomes more and more precarious as more and more water enters the Vault from the outside. Inside the Vault, we find information that the technicians think it was a mistake for Vault-Tec to choose this place as a location, because the position is unsuitable due to the groundwater.

Meanwhile, Professor Malleus learns from a dying security guard what Rubin had done and plans to confront him because he "won't let him get away with it." Rubin also orders the security guards to kill Malleus, as he increasingly perceives him as a danger.

In one of the recording studios we can see two skellets belonging to Hilda Egglebrecht and Parker Livingsteen, the lovers. In their terminal we can see that they were there on a date. It is assumed that Zoe Hammerschmidt murdered them, because we can see in her terminal that she was in love with Parker and increasingly lost her mind, so her last entry is just a string of letters.

It is not 100% known what happened to the Overseer, Rubin or the other occupants. When we arrive at the Vault, it says this.
