La floración primaveral es ese momento mágico en que la naturaleza despierta de su largo descanso invernal. Es una estación de renovación, llena de nuevos comienzos e infinitas posibilidades.

The theme for this week is urban music, which made me think about the dilemma faced by some of our 21st-century churches in Nigeria. In these churches, church leaders prefer certain songs to be sung during praise sessions, known as Western songs. These songs have a Western flow and beat, which is different from our traditional African songs that we grew up singing and are accustomed to.

Most pastors refer to African songs with beats like "Ariaria" as local and not suitable for the modern and sophisticated taste of our Gen Z generation. 😂😂

My church is a witness to this trend, and although I appreciate it for introducing new changes and improvements, not everybody enjoys it. My best friend Sarah, for instance, misses our traditional style of praise.

Usually, we are allowed to sing our traditional praise songs once a month. So, this theme inspired my entry this week, and I decided to pick two songs we consider Western in our church.

As you can see, both songs were written and performed by Nigerians but have a Western flow and style.

This song reflects a plea for forgiveness, healing, and release from the challenges and negative aspects of human nature.

People can sometimes be frustrating and challenging to live with. However, even in these moments, we still need people in our lives. As someone who has studied society, I have learned repeatedly how crucial it is for us as humans to interact with one another. No one is created to live as an island; we are meant to thrive in social settings. We are social animals, and the desire to share our dreams, desires, failures, successes, strengths, and weaknesses with others is innate in us.

The reason for choosing this theme is clear: people will always be people. If we continually focus on their faults and wrongdoings, we may end up being lonely, and loneliness is not the plan of God for us.

We must learn to look beyond people's flaws and extend understanding and forgiveness, recognizing that we are all flawed, including ourselves.

One thing I love about myself is how I always see the good in people, no matter how angry I may get. I believe everyone should have that ability. We should celebrate people, love genuinely, free ourselves, learn emotional intelligence, and develop the ability to let go of things easily.

I was listening to someone the other day, and she said something very profound. From our earliest moments, we need someone—a mother to nurture us. Even when we die, we will need someone to bury us. Even when you enter the coffin yourself, you will need someone to close it for you. Man was not meant to survive on his own; we are interdependent.

Humans were not designed to survive in isolation; we rely on one another. We need each other, and this interconnectedness is a fundamental aspect of our existence.

In conclusion, my favorite line from this song is, "Forgive me when I am one of those people." It encapsulates the message of embracing our imperfections and showing compassion toward others.

The theme "memories" is intriguing because it allows us to reflect and think back on various things, including people, past experiences, achievements, and, of course, how far we have come.

I particularly like this theme because, when looking back over my life, all I can see is God's faithfulness, goodness, and mercies.

Even during hard and difficult times, I was able to overcome through God's goodness.

Moreover, in life, we often get overwhelmed by bad situations and tend to forget about the times when God was good to us. However, the song "I Remember" by Nathaniel Bassey encourages me to look back and remember to see God's faithfulness.

The past couple of months, precisely from May, have been really demanding and hectic for me.

I had to deal with all the stress that came from planning my twin sister's wedding @bernice001, witnessing the actual event, working on my school project, and preparing for my exams, which just ended last week.

However, I am happy to share that everything was a success – my sister's wedding, my project seminar, and my examinations.

And I am super excited to participate in this week's theme, which was chosen by our dear Spotlight Artist @merit.ahama.

For my performance, I have decided to sing the song "Jealous" by Labrinth.

Sometimes, after people go through divorce and separation, they experience jealousy when they see their partners moving on and find themselves wishing that the separation never happened.

For this week, I will be performing one of the songs suggested for us by the community last week. Mudiana by Judikay.

Mudiana is a song I really love. I loved it right from the first day I heared it and I played it endlessly for some time. 😁😁

I love the rhythm, the Africanity in the song and of course the message it coveys.

Mudiana is a Benin word that means my Defender protector or supporter.

In the song, Judikay sings about how assured she is about God’s defense, love, and support for her. According to her God constantly supports her, so she can never fall.

The first verse of this song makes me understand that God is always with me, and I therefore nothing can ever stand against me.

In Christ, I am Loved, Secured, covered, favoured and Protected.
