Oggi un nuovo esperimento con la Insta360!
Ho assemblato una base dubstep usando dei loop di Logic e ci ho improvvisato sopra con un po’ di overplaying, giusto per divertimento.

Devo dire che questo genere mi piace sempre di più per suonarci sopra: è molto accattivante, sempre dritto e senza grosse dinamiche – ma proprio per questo è una palestra perfetta per giocare con groove, ghost notes, accenti e linear fills.

Un piccolo esperimento senza pretese, solo per il gusto di suonare e vedere come la 360 cattura il tutto.

A new Insta360 experiment today!
I built a dubstep backing track using Logic loops and played some over-the-top drumming on top of it—just for fun.

I have to say, I really enjoy playing over this kind of music: it’s catchy, straightforward, and doesn’t rely on big dynamics—but that makes it a great playground for groove, ghost notes, accents, and linear fills.

Nothing serious here, just a jam session for fun and to see how the 360 camera handles it.

Sharing a quick experiment today: a video shot on Insta360 while I’m improvising a very simple drum pattern. The goal wasn’t to create a “perfect clip”, but to test how much 360 tech can change the way you capture and tell a performance.

It’s my first real dive into 360 cameras and I have to say: it’s amazing. Being able to choose different angles after recording (through reframing in post) opens up a lot of creative options—especially for music content.

The edit is intentionally over the top and very dynamic. It’s mainly meant to showcase what you can do in post, and how quickly you can get results once you understand the workflow.

Oggi vi condivido un piccolo esperimento: un video girato con Insta360 mentre improvviso un pattern molto semplice alla batteria. L’idea non era “fare il clip perfetto”, ma capire sul campo quanto questa tecnologia cambi davvero il modo di riprendere e raccontare una performance.

È la prima volta che mi avvicino seriamente al mondo 360 e devo dirlo: è meraviglioso. Le prospettive che puoi scegliere dopo, in editing, aprono un sacco di possibilità creative, soprattutto per chi fa contenuti musicali.

Il montaggio qui è volutamente esagerato e super movimentato: serve più che altro a mostrare cosa si può tirare fuori in post produzione. La cosa che mi ha sorpreso di più è quanto è veloce il workflow di editing, una volta capito il meccanismo.

Fatemi sapere nei commenti: preferite clip più “pulite” e stabili, oppure video dinamici che enfatizzano movimenti e cambi di camera?

Here I am again with a very short video. I'm recording several tracks for synchronization and also some of my own tracks. I have a lot of live gigs, so time is what it is... Anyway, here's a short excerpt from my latest session in which I try to use some rather unorthodox sounds on the instrument: Tiger mint boxes tied together, a rattle bought at a medieval historical re-enactment, upside-down skins and various chains...
